Sorry to be a pedant but I think it was intended on a more granular scale:
10% we will means it is more probable that we will, not that there is little chance that we will.
Now that's what I call out of the box thinking. The box being logic. Oh boy, that's good. Mind if I use that sometime? If there's a 10% chance of it happening, what do the 90% stand for if it's not for not happening? To put what I said earlier a different way, I think the poll is structured such that a vote of "10% we will" means there's a 55% chance. Obviously not the clearest of polls, but oh well.

Sorry to be a pedant but half of these answers are pointless...
90% we will = 10% we will not, etc.

Screenshots are easy; partial screenshots (say 20x20 centered around the mouse) can be done as well (Windows: see the GDI+ documentation). Getting the clipboard data in text, image, or binary format is easy. Capturing files (e.g. scans) is easy (Windows: OpenFile documentation). All of the above can be done even with UAC on its highest setting. Getting around firewalls is easy too (see: Teamviewer Portable) Physical proximity: Hardware keyloggers Camera behind your head Beyond that, keylogging can be done with a microphone 20m from the keyboard, since each key makes a distinct sound. (see: http://www.inf.ed.ac.uk/publications/thesis/online/IM100855.pdf) Electromagnetic emissions? (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tempest_(codename) ) Also beware of OEM backdoors.

This is really rather pointless... chemical energy At the molecular level, it's just atomic and subatomic particles moving around Does not make it kinetic energy. ki·net·ic /kəˈnetik/ Adjective Of, relating to, or resulting from motion. (of a work of art) Depending on movement for its effect For the laughable purposes this thread has, we can assume energy to be kinetic.
I'm certainly starting to assume something but it isn't that. Assume whatever you want. Back to the thread... no, the pyramids were not built by aliens, and no, most of what's being "read into" the pyramids does not necessitate a giant switch in our understanding of the Egyptians. The geometry is obviously derived deliberately. How much of the History channel do you people watch?

Generally, most/all energy is kinetic, depending on how you look at it. Heat is "average kinetic energy", motion on a very small scale. Potential energy is basically stored kinetic energy.
Given that energy can be converted between forms, saying that one form is a "stored" form of another doesn't really mean that the two are identical. Then we have photon energy, E=hf, mass-energy equivalence (E=mc^2) Again, try out unit analysis. E = mc 2E = (kg)(m/s) 2E = kg*m 2/s 2Sound familiar? Force * distance energy stored in electron spins (I forget that one) Sounds suspiciously kinetic chemical energy At the molecular level, it's just atomic and subatomic particles moving around latent heat of vaporization Again, heat is "average kinetic energy" For the laughable purposes this thread has, we can assume energy to be kinetic.

How about mass * acceleration * distance?
That has units of energy but has no direct physical representation that I am aware of. The closest is kinetic energy (1/2*m*v^2). I forget how to rewrite that in terms of distance. Generally, most/all energy is kinetic, depending on how you look at it. Heat is "average kinetic energy", motion on a very small scale. Potential energy is basically stored kinetic energy. In Newtonian physics, Energy is a Force applied over a distance (Fd), Joules Force is mass times acceleration (ma), Newtons Acceleration is change in velocity divided by time (Δv/t), m/s 2Velocity is displacement over time (Δd/t), m/s Displacement is change in position, m So Energy, at least in the simplified Newtonian understanding, is measured in units of (kgm 2/s 2), and 1/2 mv 2 is one way of calculating it. (Try unit analysis; they're the same.)

In order to sustain a fraudulent transaction in the block chain (also known as double spending) one would have to control the data on every user node participating in the network, and do so from that moment on Not quite true, but the article is positive overall.

Due to the block reward halving periodically (in fact this has happened once already: there are now 25 BTC generated per block rather than 50), and the cap on decimals at 8 decimal places, the block reward will be at 0.00000001 in ~140 years, and the halving after that will remove the block reward, capping the number of bitcoins at 21 million. Now, some have already been provably destroyed, and others lost, so the actual spendable total will be lower than that.

So, today all of my bets have had to be confirmed until they can be processed. This is using the bitcoin client and the blockchain.info wallet. Anybody know why this is? It's kind of annoying to have to wait for a block to solve every time I want to play Pay a higher fee

The only way to ensure peace and happiness is to delegate responsibility to democratically elected politicians with the skills, experience and education to manage complex social and economic issues. Where does this guy live? I'm going to move there! Skilled politicians probably don't even have debt crises!

It's been nearly 2 days now & the TX still hasn't entered the blockchain, over 10 btc with the standard 0.0005 fee, it can't be cancelled & I guess that I can't add to the fee now, so is there anything that I can do & if not will it be in limbo for ever or eventually get picked up, this seems quite a Bitcoin/Blockchain.info wallet failing to me & I'm surprised that I'd never heard of it before despite being around for quite a while.
Send another transaction spending the change with a very high fee. Some custom mining software looks for profitable "chains" like that

Meta seemed an appropriate place, as this is "discussion about the Bitcoin Forum," but I'm half-expecting this topic to be moved. A bookmarklet is a small piece of javascript inside a bookmark. All modern browsers can use them. I made one to open all "new" links on the watchlist page. Coupled with the right browser settings to make pop-ups appear in tabs, (or for Chrome, the One Window extension) it makes reading much easier. var ls = new Array(); var ln = document.links.length; var h; var n; for(i=0;i<ln;i++){ h = document.links[i].href; if(h.indexOf('new')>0){ ls.push(h); } } if (ls.length > 6){ n = prompt("How many links?", 6); }else{ n = ls.length; } for(i=0;i<n;i++){ window.open(ls[i]); } void(0); Condensed: javascript:(function(){var%20ls=new%20Array();var%20ln=document.links.length;var%20h;var%20n;for(i=0;i%3Cln;i++){h=document.links[i].href;if(h.indexOf('new')%3E0){ls.push(h);}}if(ls.length%20%3E%2010){n=prompt(%22How%20many%20links%3F%22,10);}else{n=ls.length;}for(i=0;i%3Cn;i++){window.open(ls[i]);}void(0);})(); Obviously I didn't spend any time optimizing, prettifying, or anything of that sort. It works.

Is there a similar Chrome extension?
CTRL+SHIFT+J F12 CTRL+SHIFT+I CTRL+SHIFT+C They all bring up the "Inspect Element" panel. Look on the right hand side under "textarea"; change the font-family to "monospace" or any other nice monospaced font.
