941  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion] Should Gambling be Banned? on: July 16, 2022, 07:18:17 PM
Gambling will not be banned, even if all the governments of the world insist on doing so, gamblers will find all kinds of ways to keep gambling. If we look at the history of the players out there, there are those who are happy because of gambling, but there are also those who are suffering because of gambling.

I think regulating gambling is a good thing, but the government that feels the money from gambling taxes should provide rehabilitation centers for those who suffer from gambling (addicts).
The government can ban gambling, which has already happened in some countries for religious reasons. But those who are used to gambling will surely be able to return to gambling even in places unknown to the government.

Maybe only regulating gambling can be done by the government and making strict regulations and gamblers must be willing to be monitored by the government. This is for the good of the gamblers so that they do not cause other problems in the future because gambling can really make them addicted. But if some gamblers become addicted, the government should be able to find a solution and maybe providing a rehabilitation center is one way to help them.
Government can ban gambling which has already been done on some countries however gambling cannot or rather will not be banned on all countries. Gambling has been one of the industries that provides a lot to the government and some might even rely on it.

Also, enforcing strict regulations especially monitoring gamblers with their gambling activity is not a concern that the government needs to look at. I mean, it's not the government decision whether or not the gamblers activity will cause a problem or not as various aspects will need to be look into. Gambling addiction is not a job for the government but rather it's for the gambler to get checked at a psychiatrist.
942  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in 10 years, 9 years ago - from Theymos reddit AMA on: July 16, 2022, 06:36:56 PM
Its hard to see Bitcoin going to be replaced when its all that we know that is really decentralized.  ETH may not flipped BTC, it will however be more popular because of the celebrities using NFTS. But who knows 20 years isn't yet over and ETH is really making a lot of development on top of it.

It will probably not be base on price but on the dominance of ETH or if its CBDC then maybe since it will be easier for regular people to get government backed digital currency.

Bitcoin being one of most widely known when we talk about cryptocurrencies, it will be very hard to see it being overtaken by other crypto. But, still the fact that Ethereum various developments and applications such as NFTs, Games and other activities being held on ETH network. It might probably overthrow bitcoin being number one.
943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My old officemate become millionaire on investing on Bitcoin on: July 16, 2022, 05:58:53 PM
Yet another successful bitcoin story. Your influence from your coworker have made them rich especially for an average earner from our country which is Philippines (based from the currency and conversion). Holding is such a powerful strategy as a long term investment especially when the person forgotten his investment to avoid continuous checking and possibly selling which what happened on your friend.

I have a similar story as I've been encouraging my friends during college to invest or even check bitcoin way back 2016 as I see a potential of earning money while studying. Unfortunately, I have only succeeded on getting their interest on early 2017 as bitcoin has been reported on various news and articles. At that time they were able to earn enough to be necessary things such as Laptops, PC, Motorcycle and other things. Most of us halted our bitcoin and crypto activity during the 2018 massive bear market and focuses on our studies.

Right now, most of us are back with our crypto and bitcoin activities and most of them are now doing trading as their main source of income and now able to buy houses, cars and businesses. We have been helping each other and guiding on where to invest and even lend for us to be able to buy all the things we want.
944  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Be careful what you wish for, it might happen on: July 16, 2022, 05:07:38 PM
Yes, bitcoin has given users the freedom to manage their finances independently. It is like a bank in our hands and every bitcoin user who has complete control over his wallet is the owner of that bank. Our Bitcoin is our rule, and it's the opposite of the fiat system.

We can't force the government to agree to everything we want about bitcoin, that's impossible because bitcoin is basically not a currency that governments really expect to be better than fiat. Decentralization and centralization will never be the same, they will continue to be opposites. But bitcoin has offered us a better option as a means of payment.

The sad thing is, that the government will continue to tax us no matter where we keep our assets or where we use Bitcoin as a currency. Taxing is everywhere and is present in every purchase that we do because we all know that businesses that sell our daily necessities don't accept Bitcoin is still regulated by the government. If there will be more establishments and businesses that will accept Bitcoin, I think we can quite feel the financial freedom that we want.
Government taxation is necessary to any country as it is where the government of any country gets it's fund to run it's nation. Unfortunately, crypto taxation is quite confusing especially for investors as you cannot tax something that is a potential profit. This is why crypto regulations has been set to better managed each and everyone's crypto assets.

Also, even if businesses and establishments with accept bitcoin as a payment method, it will still require to be taxed since it will be included on their tax filing. But still, having an option to pay thru bitcoin and other crypto, it will be a good thing as massive adoption will be much more achieved.
945  Other / Archival / Re: Most crypto-friendly economies in the world on: July 16, 2022, 04:29:02 PM
i'm a little surprised why Indonesia is not included in this list? even though most people here have started investing a lot in cryptocurrencies, even at the end of this year the central bank here plans to issue crypto trading regulations because more and more people are transacting using crypto.
But they are yet to implement any regulations at all just like lot other countries so they have been excluded from the list, its surprising to see El Salvador at 35 but its the country which accepted bitcoin as a legal tender and it seems the only country which regulated in that way. Anyway this gives some insight that governments are adopting to the system and make the potential out of it.
Probably the reason why Indonesia and other countries are not included in this list is because there is no data collected on these countries.

Anyways, I am quite surprised why El Salvador is only at rank 35, right next to my country Philippines. El Salvador has already accepted bitcoin as a legal tender yet it is only ranked at 35. Philippines hasn't implemented any regulations on cryptocurrency but there is also no limit or restrictions made on it which is why most Filipino are able to use bitcoin and other cryptocurrency so freely.

The video shown may be related to a set score or win, but it doesn't spoil the gambling. Maybe yes if the players and all those teams gambled too, and won in bets at some sportsbook. Nothing can prevent them but maybe the relevant institutions at there will act decisively if they take part in the scoring setting, so the match is unfair also to the bookie. Blatantly kicking the ball in the wrong direction is ridiculous, big possibility will be investigated.
The video already is a proof of blatantly throwing the game whereas a football player intentionally kick the ball outside the net or the goal. I mean, they are football player and that kind of kick cannot be an accidental shot since it is too far from the net. I doubt that these players are betting on themselves and it might not be allowed to do so however it is more likely that the team and it's players are paid to throw the game.
947  Economy / Gambling / Re: Chasing a x330,000 on: July 16, 2022, 02:57:42 PM
Definitely need to get this challenge on all dice sites just to put up some interesting (but rather useless) statistic. Perhaps you'll get this multiplier earlier than 1 million to continue chasing for huge multipliers. If it exceeds even 330k bets, you'll still be negative profit but at least you managed to hit that elusive multiplier. It's worth the time, money, and effort if you hit the jackpot, though I don't think it will be rewarding money-wise in the long run.

Good luck on the bets!
As much as I've observed from various dice sites, it looks like this strategy has been used multiple times and most of them are on the positive profit. I've seen high rollers bet this on Just-Dice and Primedice as they are flooding the bet history with their continuous bet and all of them are on positive profit. Also, there's a chance that you might not win on the first 330,000 bets but there's a possibility that you will win multiple times on the next 330,000 bets.

I've also tried this but with a low amount bet and I actually won and earn profit however this strategy only works if you have enough funds to fulfill these bets as it is time consuming and it will take up a lot of bets before winning.
949  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This clearly damage the gambling. on: July 15, 2022, 08:33:59 PM
I really think this damage the trust in the sports bets , or anything related to the sport gambling, i know a lot can say its a kind of protest but still really unclear.
Nope, this event doesn’t damage or even tarnished the reputation of gambling at all. More likely, this damaged the player’s reputation and sport reputation. However, I think that the player or team that intentionally throw the game have received compensation for doing so.

Fixed matches happens very often on low tier games and matches as they are most likely to prone to bribing. But this kind of things doesn’t really affect gambling too much as only few gamblers bet on these kind of events.

951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Threshold of Loss in Gambling on: July 15, 2022, 05:17:09 PM
Having a gambling budget is a good idea, some people do not see this with good eyes as they think that for a person to have some money destined to gambling already then that person must have some problems with their gambling, but in fact it is the opposite, those which have a budget for their gambling activities are the ones that have the most control over their gambling as if at any moment they spend their gambling budget then they stop gambling immediately and then do something else to entertain themselves.

I also said that to myself that I need to play with some budget, but guess what, it's not going to happen specially if you lost a lot in the beginning. So kudos for those who can play within budget, but that could be more on an exception rather the norm in gambling. So it's either no gambling at all instead of playing within a budget because it's really hard to control when you are in to it.
I guess it's safe to assume that all of us have already experienced budgeting our gambling activities and try to stick with the allocated amount of money or crypto. However, in times where we experience a great loss, we try to make a comeback or to recovery our losses by depositing more than what we've allocated. I, myself, also experience this situation but as time goes on I have managed to limit and stick with my budget or gambling time. What made my avoid my gambling addiction is by focusing on work and other activities.
952  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Fengshui on: July 15, 2022, 03:22:45 PM
Feng Shui or any superstitious beliefs not only from China but on any country are mostly imposed on any businesses such as gambling. You might be able to see that there are common number of floors that are not included in most hotels such as Floor 13 not existing. These superstitions are mostly to be seen to on any establishment to avoid negative aura and repel bad spirits and practices on their businesses.
953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People are not only gambling to win but they are buying entertainment on: July 15, 2022, 02:47:19 PM
Some people would say that they're on it for entertainment. And it's like a never-ending statement from everyone who gambles to have fun.

I see people who talk about gambling for entertainment as liars, most of them don't want people to see them as gamblers that's why they always use the word entertainment to cover up their gambling activities. Most people who say they gamble for fun and entertainment will use huge funds to gamble and they will never leave the gambling environment yet they are been entertained with their own hard-earned money that is a big lie.

Anyone who wants to be entertained will not solely continue to gamble rounds after rounds rather the person can engage in other activities they don't encourage staking money on, so long as the person who is gambling is staking money to make more money, i see no entertainment or fun it.

I kinda disagree with your opinion. First of all, I doubt that these players who gamble for fun and entertainment don't want to be seen or acknowledge as gamblers. The first time they've gambled, makes them a gambler already. Also, most of these people who gamble for fun and entertainment purpose are rich and they don't mind losing they're money or they know that they'll be able to recover it even if they lose.
954  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Gambling companies can get more users to deposit. on: July 15, 2022, 02:00:11 PM
It is always normal for gambling casinos they are always given a KYC for only people who won a large amount, and some of them allow a large withdrawal with this like just need to submit first a KYC, or else they will hold your winning sometimes they are allowing withdrawal but in a certain amount only like 20% of the total balance and it took always a months before you can allow makes another withdrawal.
I wonder why I always hear about problems with the KYC when a player wants to withdraw his winnings, but I have never heard "the casino did not accept my money until I passed the KYC"?  Roll Eyes Everyone understands that the long passage of the KYC (if it is successful at all) for many casinos is just an excuse to detain/keep the player's money. I don't think this is normal.
Various reason could have arise as to why casino platforms are asking for KYC for huge winners rather than asking users to do KYC before deposit. One reason is that they don't want to make their users required to do the KYC process. Also, casino tends to look into the account of huge winners to better check their history as well as activities made on their account to ensure that no illicit activity have been made or done. In which case, the casino requires the users to do the KYC process.
955  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion] Should Gambling be Banned? on: July 15, 2022, 01:25:14 PM
I disagree on banning gambling and it cannot be done. First of all, all the cons you've included on your post are most likely to be caused by gamblers itself. Being irresponsible gambler will cause the cons you've listed especially the addiction. The platform isn't the problem rather it's the people who use the platform.

Wala ganun talaga typical Filipino Toxic Culture ika nga nila.

I doubt din na magkakaroon ng loan or lending option ang coins.ph, since yung pinaka purpose nila ay crypto wallet at exchange unlike paymaya or gcash which has a financial usecase.

I doubt din na magkakaroon ng loan or lending option ang coins.ph, since yung pinaka purpose nila ay crypto wallet at exchange unlike paymaya or gcash which has a financial usecase.

959  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Careful With Your Slot Activity! on: July 10, 2022, 08:16:22 PM
You cannot really blame any kind of game in the gambling industry as the irresponsibility of the gambler is the main cause why this kind of situation happens. Unfortunately, most of the addictive games are the easiest ones such as slots and dice. Without any control in the gamblers funds, they will surely be in debt when they keep on losing as they won't know when to stop. In regards with the loan with the bank, he probably make up something that is not related to gambling for his loan to approve. As much as I know, his family should not be burden on paying those debts however if their property is under the loaner then the bank will entitled to it to repay the loan.
So the person isn't having control over their activities but here the blame comes totally over the platform not the person who did this. But gambling platforms also encouraging users to take break and be socially responsible also provide exclusion features but in reality nothing can stop them unless the person wants to. About the loan yes the family shouldn't be responsible for repaying but if the debt comes from their relatives circle not from the financial institutions then they have to pay it back.
How you can put the blame over the platform if it serves it's purpose in the first place. The person got addicted which in return loss all his money and even defaulted his loan. Slot Machine or even the casino does not care or will interrupt any personal matter from it's clients and users as those are not from their discretion. You can't blame the game if you get addicted to it, you lost control then it's your problem not the gambling platform. Also, whether or not the loan is from a relative, it is not his family's burden to pay for it since they were not the one who owes it. However, they may lose the trust and received a bad image from their relative in case they defaulted it. On the other hand, they are still relative and they'll probably understand if they won't be able to pay off their debt.

Just look at the bright side, kung sakaling hindi ka man makaipon.
