1201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rejecting odd provider's limit on: February 18, 2023, 01:29:51 PM
Have seen few discussion in this board about odd providers limiting user accounts, I assume they must be tracking user's accounts across multiple casinos by email address, kyc is triggered later.

My question is, would it be possible to circumvent such imposition by simply using different emails while registering on different casinos?

I do think it is possible to circumvent it but the feature will remain the same. Not to mention, creating multiple accounts with different e-mail addresses would put you on the risk of having your accounts banned. If I were you, I will not put myself in that situation especially the if the gambling website would be able to track my IP address and completely prohibit me from gambling on their website.

Instead of circumventing this feature, might as well just gamble to another website. If KYC is a feature that will completely eliminate the chances of you gambling, then do not even risk circumventing any feature that is stipulated on the TOS of the gambling website.
1202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting fraud in Brazil 😦 on: February 17, 2023, 10:50:11 PM
It is estimated that the bettors would have profited approximately R$ 2 million (~US$ 383,130.00). Shocked

The fraud involved bribes for players, and among the main actions, it was necessary for the player to commit penalties in the first half of the games that were played. Each player received R$ 150,000 per bet for this act (~U$ 28,734.00).

In fact, this makes it much easier to earn money from sports betting.

Unfortunately these are situations that occur in several countries, but the amount of money involved always calls our attention.
In these cases, bets were placed on the competitions that we call "Series B", which is the second largest football championship in Brazil, in which the best classifieds guarantee a place for the main championship in the following year.

If this allegation is supposedly true, then the commissioner has to do something about the players. They should be absolutely prohibited to participate in all sports events as they are the ones who destroy the integrity and the spirit of the sport for corruption and money. All the people that are involved should be severely penalized in this aspect and they should be prohibited from stepping foot into any sports that they enter.

Sports betting has the spirit of betting into a team due to the knowledge that you have. If a team supposedly fixes the game, this completely destroys the purpose on why this category of gambling has been created and this will significantly prejudiced the rights of these users.
1203  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Success in life on: February 16, 2023, 11:22:56 PM
As a new beginner how can I make success in life through the crypto space, today in the global world people are looking for way out of unsuccessful life,I believe as a new beginner I will be show how to make success through this trending development in the world, and to know the different between success, wealth and richness because the best live a man will lieve is when u are well to do in all areas of life I hope been here is a welcome development and step I have taken in life, kudos once more to the inventor of this great platform worldwide.

There is no easy-way in order to be successful and this applies not only to cryptocurrency but in life as well. If there is some method that can fast-track you in becoming successful, then everyone would be rich by now. The secret lies on your motivation and habit-building of constant learning plus hard work. I also learned that being hard working does not necessarily guarantee a comfortable and relatively rich life- take it from someone who lives in a third-world country.

Personally, be prepared for all opportunities. But in order to take advantage of an opportunity, you must be prepared when that time comes. For example, if an opportunity arises where you are needed to specifically do something, make sure that you are ready and fundamentally sound after such opportunity.
1204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Impact of altcoins on Bitcoin's early growth and adoption? on: February 16, 2023, 11:08:28 PM
...
Overall, while the development of alternative cryptocurrencies had both positive and negative impacts on Bitcoin's early adoption and growth, it is clear that the overall impact of the cryptocurrency space has been significant and continues to evolve.

To be honest, the creation of alternate cryptocurrency brought more good than harm and I consider that the competition was not as bad as people thought would be. Like you mentioned, this brought about public awareness and interest to the extent of knowing that there exists a currency that is fully decentralized aka "financial freedom."

I doubt that there was any competition at all when ETH and other famous altcoins were made. The basis would always be the price and liquidity in the market. Moreover, the creation of altcoins further boosted the price of BTC in the market which had more positive impact than negative.
1205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin gambling problem on: February 15, 2023, 11:48:04 PM
Problem gambling can happen in every format. Be it an online casino or offline casino. So not sure why bitcoin gambling is highlighted in the subject line. It could have been written in a more generic way.

Problem gambling depends on an individual. Gambling houses have no role there. Gambling is a legal business and there are several medical resources available to counter/handle problem gambling. The link you have shared is one of such resources.

I agree that OP could have used a different and generalize subject instead of focusing on "bitcoin gambling problem" only. But regardless, I do think that his intention was to let everyone know that such resource and website exists primarily for helping people who are addicted to gambling.

I also agree that addiction comes into various degrees of platforms- be it gambling or any kind of activity. The common denominator is- such addiction causes problems with one's life to the point that it disrupts one's way of living. I just hope that such people would become more aware about their situation and opt to address it immediately.
1206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Choosing between your relationship and gambling. on: February 15, 2023, 11:31:48 PM
Her reasons is because she has this brother that's into gambling and his gambling habit has led to him selling off important properties of his and some that belongs to the whole family just to meet up with his uncontrollable gambling urge. And this experience scares her to death having anything to do with anyone she notice that engages in gambles activities especially for someone she's in a serious relationship with, that she can't deal with such reality.

The fiancee is valid for feeling this way since she has previous experience with someone who has been addicted to gambling. In other words, she had already seen the negative and destructive effects of a person being addicted to this activity. If she wants to ensure the future of his family, then engaging into gambling is something that should be avoided by your cousin.

Quote
I'll really appreciate to have you share some advise on what decision to take if you were to find yourself in this my cousin shoe. For It's been a difficult moment for him this past two days as he has  been thinking of the financial support he at times get from the gambling wins and at same time his fiancee too.

If your cousin can convince his fiancee that he is gambling purely for entertainment purposes, then he should do so. Remember that his fiancee had already seen and experienced a person being addicted to this activity. But in all honesty, your cousin should definitely stop or at least venture another activity.
1207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin have life span? on: February 13, 2023, 11:59:50 PM
Bitcoin is digital currency and it have influence over the nations which many people have queue up for it's technology, my major challenges I'm having and i do meditate seriously and have more concerned over it, is that Bitcoin does it have life span to be varnish or not be recognize again when time comes? Or Bitcoin is going to be a continuous process of digital currency. Referring Gold as a digital currency and others digital currencies that has being into existence before arrival of Bitcoin, their no longer existing and now Bitcoin has taken ground of other digital currencies. Will the technology of bitcoin continue in future time.
Bitcoin doesn't have a lifespan, it is just like any other investment or currency, as long as it have a value and have a demand from the market then it would continue to live.
Other crypto or project are considered dead because investors and even their team left their project and it doesn't have a value.
We can't say it doesn't have a lifespan. It gets used until something better reaches the world. For now we won't be able to see an innovation better than bitcoin's blockchain technology. Maybe in the upcoming generation we will come across more innovations as kids are much connected to technology and the same will push them hard to innovate better products. In such scenario the survival turns down and gets limited.

I think its lifespan depends upon its legalization and usage around the world. Basically, its lifespan is completely dependent upon the government's intrusive prohibition where it can anytime declare its illegality, which will definitely affect the number of users around the world.

While it is possible for this to happen, it is highly unlikely given that more countries have started to adopt cryptocurrencies in their financials and economics. Governments from different countries recognized the positive impact of applying cryptocurrencies as an alternative payment- even to the extent of making it as a legal tender in one of the countries globally.
1208  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Scam Alert: BKC Trading unauthorized investment scheme on: February 13, 2023, 11:46:32 PM
Baka meron dito na nagiinvest sa BKC trading. Actually nakita ko lng ito sa wall ko ng may nagshare dati pero diko pinansin dahil ponzi ang investment scheme. Nagpromise kasi sila ng 12% to 36% profit sa investment which is typical ponzi feature.

Full Details: https://bitpinas.com/regulation/sec-advisory-bkc-trading/

Nakakalungkot kasi sa mga pages natin sa Facebook, ang daming tao na nagkakalat ng mga various links. Tapos kapag clinick mo, nakalagay doon na may minimum investment and deposit na kailangan at maibabalik mo agad yung investment mo after a few months.

Newbies, if you are reading this, avoid any suspicious links being spread on all social media platforms. Delikadong delikado at ponzi-scheme mga ito. As someone na na-scam na sa ganito, it is almost 99% na mawawalan ka lang din ng pera in the process.
1209  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading addiction, are you coping? on: February 13, 2023, 11:18:13 PM
I read a news yesterday about a Spanish rehab center that is called 'The Balance', a Switzerland-founded wellness center, located in Spain. The Rehab center helps in treating of alcohol, drugs and behavioral health addictions. Recently it is adding trading addiction to its list and I was surprised to see that. You can read more about it.

I am actually surprised that they specifically and categorically included "extreme trading" as part of their platforms in treating such addiction. I guess in Spain, people are known to trade huge amounts of money and suffer from losses? I mean, the fact that they recognize that this is a problem implies that lots of people in that country do suffer from it.

Quote
I think it would be perfect to bring this trading discussion. Are you addicted to trading? I am thinking that making profit from trading or making losses, there is a chance that some traders are addicted to trading. What are you doing naturally to stay away from trading addiction?

I once traded in stocks and it was fairly addicting especially if you start earning some profit. But unlike in gambling, trading has actually some skills and fundamentals involved in order to increase the chances of you profiting. You basically apply real-life knowledge, forecasting, and data in order to analyze a given coin and somehow forecast when its price would drop.

If a person thinks that he/she is addicted to trading, then looking for an alternative way or activity may help. In addition, acknowledging that you are also addicted to it definitely helps as this would alert your peers and close ones to help you in treating this addiction.
1210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling safer than before ? on: February 13, 2023, 11:00:55 PM
My topic today is about a simple question, Do you think gambling in old days is more safe than our days now?
Just 2 months ago in my region unfortunately a guy in my age has been murdered in cold blood only for gambling when the victim managed to win a good amount of money against the owner of an illegal small casino. If these two people where gambling online nothing bad could happen
In the other hand gambling online also have consequences such as getting scammed by the casino as well.

Oh so you are talking about the general safety of the individuals when it comes to gambling and not about the safety of the games in general? In my opinion, gambling has been relatively safe with the introduction of online casinos where you can freely gamble anytime and at any place for your convenience. Unfortunately, however, it also became more dangerous depending on the places and people you deal with.

In the Philippines, there were a group of cockfighters that were involved in some syndicate and their bodies were found lifeless on soil. Just make sure that if you were to gamble, do not associate yourself with anyone. Lastly, avoid loan sharks as these people have very powerful connections that can seriously and potentially put your life in danger.
1211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People will choose bitcoins more if the number of cryptocurrency option is less. on: February 13, 2023, 10:09:55 PM
I felt like seeing a movie and opened my streaming app (Netflix) to make a selection of a movie to see and I became confused which to select because of the many choices that I saw. I immediately had this thought that it is the same way people who have the interest of investing in cryptocurrency become confused the one to invest in when they find out that there is bitcoin and many other altcoins. Many people become confused and make mistakes because of the many options they have in cryptocurrency, they fail to invest in bitcoins because they think that there are many other very good options. Do you agree that more people will choose to invest in bitcoins if there were not so many cryptocurrency choices although not all are good?

I somehow disagree with your statement. Even if the world of cryptocurrency is been saturated with thousands to millions of cryptocurrencies, majority of the users has at least BTC to their portfolio. Not to mention, majority of their investments come from BTC.

The reason is due to its price, market share, and liquidity on the market. In addition, with the happening of forks on BTC, there will always be that chance of its price skyrocketing like what happened years and years ago.

When I first joined this forum, the price of 1 BTC = $4,000 and people were skeptical lf its price would increase. Now that its current price is ~$20,000, expect that this might be the next price floor to a more bigger price in the future.
1212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Features in Crypto Casinos for the Elderly on: February 13, 2023, 05:14:29 PM
There's no much attraction gotten from the senior citizens in gambling because they were not that involved like the youths and young adults, old age is a big factor that limit their participation in gambling and we cannot expect them to have sane result as the young ones when gambling, the more why the concentration here is not basically targeted on the senior citizens in gambling considering many factors that may render them ineffective, but nevertheless they can still be considered to have that right in gambling as long as they wish to, offering them video clips for tutorials isn't a bad idea as well, but know that only few can be interested in having time to watch and learn from those clips.

I somehow disagree with your statement. With the recent technological advancements, surprisingly, lots of senior citizens are into gambling. Majority of them are also using their respective mobile phones in order to access tons of gambling applications. Not to mention, these gambling apps are notoriously aggressive on their ads across all social media platforms and websites.

Personally speaking, my own grandmother gambles frequently on her mobile phone but sometimes she has trouble seeing the texts. In addition, I am somehow positive that she would not be able to grasp the complexity of withdrawing/depositing in a gambling website so I do hope there is a way to simplify this process.
1213  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: whether investing in bitcoin many lose on: February 13, 2023, 05:00:59 PM
I don't have much experience in crypto, and hopefully by joining this group I will get a lot of knowledge about crypto..
and i have little money and plan to buy bitcoin.
but is investing in bitcoin really safe or not? and do many lose from investing in bitcoin or not? I want to hear from all of you...

and what is a good application for buying and selling crypto, and is it safe?..............

Investing in itself is something that is very risky given the word on itself. Especially that you want to focus on investing in cryptocurrency, going blind without first learning its fundamentals and characteristics would definitely put you on the risk of losing your investment and resources.

Before you invest, I highly suggest that you browse through this forum if you have certain questions that you want to ask (that might have been answered already). There are also tons of information, videos, and books online that you can search. Use all the possible search engines to learn about investing so you could lower the risk of losing your money.
1214  Economy / Economics / Re: Can one achieve financial independence through crypto currency? on: February 13, 2023, 01:14:11 PM
Given these factors, the dream of financial freedom can come true by using crypto currency?
If you approach cryptocurrency with the right mindset, you will achieve financial freedom, but if you approach it with the get-rich-quick mindset, you will be the first to call it a scam.
Since there is evidence all over the internet that others are getting rich or achieving financial freedom off of it, you can too if you follow the rules and have a solid financial strategy.

Like what I also previously mentioned, there is absolutely no easy-way of getting rich. If entering cryptocurrency is what others considered as a "cheat code" of getting rich, then that kind of mindset would bring them more harm than good. If such were the case, then everyone would have been rich by now.

Financial independence require good foundation and knowledge on the topic. If a person has what it takes to maximize the potential of investing in cryptocurrency, then this will further bolster the chances of him/her achieving such end result. But in no means that this is the answer for every financial problem that they have as they also have to work hard significantly to achieve it.
1215  Economy / Gambling / Re: Positive Gambling Quotes for 2023! on: February 13, 2023, 10:22:00 AM
Gambling is a risk worth taking so if you are in position to take such risk don't hesitate, just take it and be fine. In my area we call it youth empowerment because some young people win small money almost every week. So I will drop this positive gambling quote which goes. "TRY IT TODAY AND SMILE TOMORROW" .When you try it and gamble you might be smilling when you go take the money you have won .
Gambling is completely risky system because there are two types of possibilities, but your view is absolutely correct because if the young generation is not involved in these risky systems then they will not be able to adapt themselves to the risky system in the future. Gambling generates the supreme power of the young generation, but great sages often call Gambling a powerful exercise for the heart of the human body. Because if you can control yourself when you face loss in gambling then only you will have hard heart.

The heart of every addiction lies on the discipline and responsibility of the user. If he fails to maintain such attitude, then expect the person to be addicted quickly, thus falling into the cycle of gambling.

I remember, I stumbled upon a quote on a random website and it stated this:
Quote
Gambling is like war- even if you won the battle, you still lost the war.

What this means that once you enter the realm of gambling addiction, you have already lost your profit. You may win huge amounts of sum in a single day, but collectively, it still does not offset all the losses that you have encountered in the past.
1216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Nonito Donaire vs Jason Moloney on: February 12, 2023, 11:58:37 PM
I think it's better if he would face another nationality, again as I have said, Thailand's  Nawaphon Sor. Rungvisai  or PR's pride Emmanuel Rodriguez (who beat Jason Moloney).

I also don't want two Filipino to be in the same ring, as much as possible I also like to see other nationality to face Nonito Donaire, it give more excitement than seeing both Filipino fight, sure the title will be in a Filipinos hand who ever own the fight but it is sad to think that a fellow Filipino's record will be tarnished by another Filipino.

I want Donaire to test himself against Nawaphon Sor. Rungvisai, I think it will be a good match, Rungvisai is very aggressive and it will fit on Donaire's style. Nonito is known to have his left hook, very patented of him. But he usually used it to fighters who want's to walk him down and think that they can easily out power him.

So if Rungvisai make a lot of mistakes trying to get inside of Donaire, they for sure he will taste some of those left hook and then combo in the body. So I wouldn't be surprised if Donaire wins another knockout victory in his next fight if either Rodriguez or Rungvisai will be his opponent for the belt.

I agree with your statement. I also want to see a match between Runvisai vs Donaire though I doubt that it will happen anytime soon. If there is one thing that is a fact on this match, it is that Donaire is slowly becoming older as the years pass by. He was nicknamed the "Filipino Flash" for his speed and accuracy, though he is slowly deteriorating as the years pass by.

If the match between Rungvisai and Donaire happen in the future, this is something that I would definitely watch and gamble my money for. This is the entertainment that most would probably love due to both their aggressiveness and style on the court.
1217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is Gambling? ChatGPT Responses. on: February 12, 2023, 11:39:20 PM
It's an interesting experience but I'm still looking for someone able to leverage its abilities and skills for real help in gambling, at online casinos or at land based one thanks to a smartphone. But unfortunately I think the level ChatGPT AI is still too low to give a concrete help for any gambling game yet, sadly. Maybe in few years we will see enhanced AI able to do that though.

Since ChatGPT has been famous for providing questions to almost anything, will it be possible if we can also ask this AI about betting tips and techniques? Not to mention, will it also provide some interesting feedback about gambling-related questions in general?

So I actually tried it and the response of the AI is actually very helpful and supportive. Not only did it consider the perspective of the gambler, but it also provided useful feedback that majority of us also shared in this forum.

1218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Features in Crypto Casinos for the Elderly on: February 12, 2023, 11:15:06 PM
I visited an uncle in another city. His birth year was 1960. He has been an avid gambler for a long time and frequently visits brick-and-mortar casinos. He currently wants to test out an crypto casino. He has heard a great deal about it. He did, however, note that despite possessing the cash, he has no knowledge of how to use cryptocurrency for gambling but would really like to. I would like to suggest that crypto casinos put a video tutorial explaining how to use cryptocurrencies for gambling on their website.

What other features would you like to see in crypto casinos for senior citizens?

Along with video lectures and tutorials, it would be great also to have visual representations and pictures on a step-by-step process of deposit and withdrawal. Given that the nature of cryptocurrency is complicated in itself, it would make it very convenient for these elderly people if such processes were at least spoonfed to them.

Another feature that would definitely be great is for a website to have the option of increasing the font sizes of the texts. Given that majority of the elderly people have deteriorating eyesight, having such option would help them read better.

To be honest, I have no complain on elderly people gambling. I know a few of my friend's grandparents who gamble and these people know how to discipline. Like, they gamble purely for entertainment given that they literally have nothing to do in their free time.
1219  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't have high expectations in the crypto world. on: February 11, 2023, 11:21:27 PM
Do you think high expectations are good for crypto beginners?

You have said it all in you post. Having high expectations can lead to so many unfortunate things, like you said some people actually got into crypto because of the success of others and without even trying to find out what they went through to get to where they're right now, the sacrifices they made, the pain and hardship they endured during their journey. No, they just jump into it thinking that they'll also be as successful as that person and when things doesn't goes as planned they start having cold feet about if they should continue or not. If you don't want my unnecessary pressure then you shouldn't have high expectations in crypto.

Having high expectations is nothing but normal especially for a newbie. This will definitely give him/her the motivation that they need in order to start their processes and learnings in the cryptocurrency world. But having high expectations can also backfire especially if that person becomes overconfident and arrogant to begin with.

Channel this burning passion and rage in learning the fundamentals in the cryptocurrency world. If investing into this platform were that easy, then everybody would have been millionaires by now. Again, having high expectations is not necessarily bad but you have to place such expectations in the right place in order to take advantage of such motivation.
1220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The biggest casino property... on: February 11, 2023, 11:06:13 PM
Marina bay sans is a resort in Marina Bay, Singapore. It was opened in 2010 and it’s currently the most expensive casino property in the world at $6 Billion.
The fabulous resort has 2,561 room hotel, 120,000 square feet of the convention exhibition center, a shopping mall, a museum theater, an infinity pool, and 500 table casino, among others.
https://getnoticed.info/2023/02/09/inside-the-biggest-casino-property-in-the-world/

Remember that operating a casino has its advantages and disadvantages depending on the perspective on where you look at it.

For example, in the Philippines, our PAGCOR which is operated by the government, brings the most revenue to the total capital fund. With this in mind, the revenue garnered can definitely help and support the country in expanding its infrastructures and other related expenses for the general welfare of the people.

Singapore is definitely one of the countries that are developed due to the management of their government. The fact that they can shell out that amount of money dedicated to gambling speaks on how disciplined and proper they are.
