Generell würde ich einfach sagen: Alles was man in Bitcoins und Umfeld mit Geld so macht, sollte man als "Spielgeld" betrachten. Du solltest die gleiche Menge Geld ohne Probleme gerne auch in's Casino mitnehmen können und dort ein bisschen Pokern oder damit zocken und Spaß haben, ähnlich ist es nämlich auch hier - der Einsatz kann schnell mal futsch sein und auch wenn es keine "Bank" in dem Sinne gibt, wirst du auch hier schnell mal in kleinen Raten abgezockt.
Das kann zwar trotzdem Spaß machen und du kannst dabei was lernen, Geld das du schon verplant hast, solltest du allerdings genausowenig im Casino auf "Rot" setzen wie für irgendwelche "todsicheren" Bitcoin Arbitrage-Deals verwenden oder in Bitfinex verleihen. Denk dir einfach das Folgende: Wenn es so leicht wäre, 1% pro Woche z.B. mit Arbitrage zu verdienen, wieso machen es dann Leute mit z.B. 100000€ in der Portokasse nicht sondern überlassen dir das Spielfeld?

Hm, I personally am not really a fan of these things ("community driven/financed" stuff), I'd rather see someone do it either out of intrinsic motivation (e.g. Satoshi) or because they want to build a product and develop a way to transparently profit on the way (e.g. Ripple) instead of pulling people from here into the project.
I for example find decentralized exchanges and the concepts behind them quite interesting, but I wouldn't want to be too deeply involved in any of them or seen as advocating them by being a board member. Just take a look at what NXT did with their "initial investors" and the shitstorm it created or what Mastercoin did.
Good luck with that idea and hopefully everything works out as you want it to - I'd recommend to centralize funding etc. around yourself and a team of people you motivated to work with you though. First the team, then the money.

Verleihen auf Bitfinex bringt z.B. gerade bei Fiatgeld viel eher Zinsen als wenn du BTC verleihen würdest. Ob es das Risiko wert ist, dein Geld auf ein chinesisches Konto einer LLC in HongKong zu schicken, musst du für dich selber entscheiden. Oi, davon könnt ich bei 8k€ ja komplett Miete und Studium bezahlen  Aber klingt zu schön um wahr zu sein - man hat im Fall der Fälle wohl keinerlei rechtliche Ansprüche, oder? Sicher hast du die, ob du fähig bist, die im Ernstfall durchzusetzen ist allerdings fraglich um's mal freundlich auszudrücken. Neben dem Vertrauen in die Betreiber musst du natürlich auch darauf hoffen, dass die Zinsen weiterhin so hoch bleiben, auf http://charts-bfxdata.rhcloud.com/ gibt's ne nette Übersicht über Zinsentwicklung... Außerdem fällt da ziemlich sicher Kapitalertragssteuer auf die Gewinne an. Ohne Risiko geht eben gar nichts, selbst wenn du z.B. "Bank" bei Just-Dice spielen willst (eine Glücksspielseite, wo die Nutzer die Finanzierung stellen) hast du zwar auf lange Sicht Anteil am 1% house edge, allerdings hat es auch schon mal mehrere MONATE gedauert, bis ein Typ dort mal gröber verloren hat während der Kontostand der Investoren bis dahin eher abgenommen als zugenommen hat. Wenn du die BTC dazwischen abziehen musst, weil du was zum Essen brauchst: Pech gehabt. Außerdem hast du auch dort Betreiberrisiko. Wenn du die 8k€ aber schon für was eingeplant hast, dann verwende sie auch dafür und hör auf, dir darum Gedanken zu machen was sein könnte. Wenn du da rumspielen willst, dann geh doch mal ein bisschen was nebenher am Wochenende arbeiten und steck nen 100er pro Monat in wasauchimmer du investieren willst (z.B. um 60€ BTC kaufen, 40€ auf Bitfinex legen oder umgekehrt...) statt in Zigaretten, Alkohol oder Kaffee. Alternativ eben mal diese eine Kiste mit dem Zeug (die hat jeder...) ausmisten und auf eBay oder am Flohmarkt verkaufen und das Geld dann eben "investieren". Was auch gut hilft: Alles Geld das du zum Leben brauchst am Bankomaten abheben, immer in Bar und nur mit Scheinen zahlen und die Münzen jeden Abend konsequent in ein Gurkenglas ausleeren. Am Monatsende auf die Bank bringen und dann damit machen was du willst. |

Vielleicht auch nur einen Teil für diese höheren Risiken nutzen? Immerhin bekommt man da ca. 0,25% pro TAG derzeit, selbst wenn du "nur" 1k EUR da verleihst kommt da schnell mehr an Zinsen zusammen als mit 8k auf einer Bank.

Ok, thanks for the clarification!  It's just weird (and slightly annoying) if you get less than 10 USD on the second payment (you'd need to lend out ~80k+ USD for that not to happen probably) and then it isn't caught by Autorenew. Oh another request (besides the ones a bit back about improving the ledger display) - could we set a wallet in the settings where deposits are being credited? I have my account set to "trader" and now get BTC deposits as well as affiliation payments in the trading wallet, which means I create some extra entries just for periodically shifting the money back to deposit from there. As I don't want to risk loosing my 1:4 leverage, I don't want to set the account type to "deposit". |

Most problems imho come from people using the default public rippled servers - if you run your own local one, you are the only person using it... meaning it will not go under heavy load just because suddenly a bunch of people sign on and all request their trading history of the past year at once.

I guess maybe you could say its a kind of 51% of the trust attack or something, but in practice maybe more like whoever are the biggest corporations call the shots. It's more of a 80% trust attack, but yes, choosing a good UNL is difficult. Bitcoin in the startup phase (and still right now with only few relevant pools) has siomilar issues by the way, which is quite interesting considering that decentralization was one of the major design goals in both cases. Ripple is a centralized currency. It is not made to invest and make profit !

I am not even sure if I'd trust myself with serious amounts of BTC, why should others do that? Because I write/read a lot in this forum, read Bitcoin and Ripple sources and do a few small projects on the side?
Also, what's the benefit for your escrowers? A percentage of funds? A fee? The chance to check out your ideas first hand?

Du schreibst entweder deinen eigenen Code (machen nur eine Handvoll Projekte) oder du veränderst ein paar wenige Konstanten oder Algorithmen in Bitcoin (das machen SEHR viele).
"Funktionsweise" ist eben das, was du dann draus machst - alle auf Bitcoin basierenden Altcoins werden eben z.B. blockchains nutzen.

IMHO it's less then 0, because the risk greatly outweighs the reward Rate is less than 2% per year (accumulated). That is your personal assessment though and you're free to charge more as interest then. Apparently for people holding in total ~3.2k BTC it is already enough. Since interest gets paid out daily, with reinvesting you'd get 2.02...% per year from 0.0055% per day. In practive that's a bit hard, since even at FRR you're not likely to lend out coins and even if you do, you typically loose a bit for the hours you have to wait until your offer gets re-posted, waits for a borrower etc. - also there are fees. The "real" rate for me also is different (not 2%), this has to do a lot with lending out BTC if the price goes down quickly which builds demand but increases risk. |

Just read the page... Flash rate is what everyone gets right now on average, the other number is a more long-term measurement.
You would pay 10 % fees and you would be very lucky to even lend out a fraction of 100 btc at the moment - but in theory yes, you can earn a modest interest on bitcoin deposits.
