how safe would it be to store around 40K Euro on kraken ? (not as Bitcoins, but as Euro) and be ready to buy when it's time ?
A bit more safe than storing bitcoin, cause in case of hotwallet leak or simular, your money won't be stolen. But in case of haircut like at bitfinex, you will still loose money. And of course it depends on your security settings. 2FA for login and withdrawal is necessary! You can also enable additonal security measures.

Are you able to improve the response time for the balance API Call?
Hello. We'll check this on Monday, this API call usually processed for 0.5 sec. any news? At the moment it takes 4-5 seconds =/ edit: livecoin introduced a better balance api call,, were you can specify for which currencies you need the balance. So if I only need the balance for a few currenices, there is no nded for livecoin to get all balances and therefore the call is much faster now

REST API response is very slow within the past hours, get alot of timeout errors, meaning that the response took more than 15 seconds =/ Maybe you can check that.

offtopic: magst du kurz schreiben, was bitstamp geändert hat? Trade dort auch via API und vllt ists ja wichtig und ich habs nicht mitbekommen

the new platform looks good, thanks for bringing it to my attention. but it still says Beta for some reason and i can't seem to be able to load some of the pages like the API it says "it took too long to load!".
and it is a bit strange that they are offering a better API and they supposed to be the same as btc-e!
yes, supportpage and troublshoot also does not work here... The API page works for me https://www.xbtce.com/de/apiBut at least for REST API, this is not real documentation. It has all the calls you can make, but I did not found the whole authentication stuff and URL. But there already was a example client in my program language, so I can use this The most important API improvement, why I left btc-e, is the balance-call. I need to know both, total and available balance. And btc-e only has available. And xbtce has websocket.

Is there a way to get the "product_id" of a currency pair, without the API call "products" ? Because the response from that API call contains a sign I can't print: UnicodeEncodeError: 'charmap' codec can't encode character '\u20ac' in position 1083: character maps to <undefined>
it was a problem with the windows command console. Simply write the command "chcp 65001" before trying to print the product_info solved it I noticed that in your API v2 are also "pusher_channels" mentioned, that is great! But I did not found the pusher key to access those channels. Where can I find it? edit: when will you enable ETH/EUR pair again?

@Dargo Seeing many new users of Kraken (new ICONOMI holders) complain about the UI. Ive always thought it is awful to use/navigate. Wondering if this is getting a make-over anytime soon?
Yes.. When I traded ZEC yesterday, it was a pain to use your interface to trade =/ all those very tiny numbers like 0.004523 ZEC or other. And then the rounding display (bitfinex rounds 0.001 to 0 which is even worse ). One thing I would highly suggest is an " enter all" button. So all the available balance of a currency is put into the filed, so you only have to submit it. This will make it much easier to trade.

Hi Are you able to improve the response time for the balance API Call? It takes 3-4 seconds everytime, which is quite slow =/

withdrawing bitcoins does not work very well. The confirmation email takes very long. It was already the case yesterday. There it took ~3 minutes (all the days before it was there nearly instant). Now I'm waiting 7 minutes and still nothing... will edit this post when it arrives... hope it will be within 30 minutes otherwise it will be invalid edit: 30 minutes later still nothing... so it will be invalid if it arrives some day.. I wrote a support ticket...

do they want to split the profit for another new site? i think i will stick with btc-e because i already familiar with them, but for future maybe i will try xbtce for another market exchange and maybe i can do some arbitrage.
they have exactly same orderbook like btce. I would like to change to xbtce because they have much better API...but I'm not able to find where to generate API key and support is unreachable -.- edit: APi keys can be generated after creating a "Cash" account, which needs verification. Support can also be reached directly via email: support@xbtce.com(but no answer since ~2 days, maybe because it is weekend...)

Anyone knows someone from xbtce stuff , maybe active at bitcointalk?
I need to write a support ticket, but when trying to login at support website, I always get the error: We encountered a problem (cross-site request forgery detected); please try again
And I also can't write into trollchat, cause verification is needed... And "Live chat" is offline always... and if you still write into offline live chat, you can leave a email address, but they never will answer... And also the "troubleshooter" from their website does not work.
All in all I'm very disappointed and can't move forward, cause verification is stuck without support help...
btw: does anybody know where to create API Keys for REST api?

Could you add an option to add extra transactionfee to crypto withdrawals ? I have again a btc withdrawal which is unconfirmed since an hour =/ (okay there were only 2 blocks found meanwhile) If I were able to add some extra transactionfee if I'm in hurry, it would be good

What is the status about ETH withdrawal? I requested a small withdrawal before the hardfork. Most exchanges resumed transfers already, but the withdrawal from cex was still not send (nothing in an block explorer): 2016-10-18 13:30:11 -50.00000000 ETH xx WITHDRAW - Transaction is being processed.

Yes, there is an API call to close the position, it is described here: https://cex.io/rest-api#close-position As per closing via opposite position - we have specifically designed the system so, that it would allow opposite positions opened at the same time, as this gives you an opportunity to hedge your funds during course fluctuations with a right trading strategy. We will, of course, develop the Margin Trading further and include more features. It might be a good feature, I don't know, cause I don't use it that way. But I know how to use margin trading with a bot. And to only have the option to fully close a position to market price, is horrible. sry. You need to add some day before I can use your margin trading: 1) Make it possible to to close positoins with counter positions (also partly). Just use your actual way as the default. But if I set a new introduced paramter in the open_position call to true, then make it the way I described. 2) Closing at market price is not good. Placing it as a limit order is much better for experienced traders. If you do 1) , 2) will be done automatically. So in case Kraken has no patent to this stuff, just copy Kraken in this matter. You can't make it better, cause it is perfect. (and I absolutely don't want to advertise Kraken. I purely speak from the perspective of an active bot-trader, who wants to use several exchanges and would like to have the same great standards about margin trading everywhere) edit: sorry for only criticism Of course it is great that you introduced margin trading! I just hope that you will improve it even further

Bitpanda: Verkaufen € 572.25
Kaufen € 596.53

Some questions about margin trading:
1) There is no information about the timeframe of your rollover fee. Most other exchanges have 0.01 % rollover fee (every 4 hours). For how many hours is your 0.01% fee?
2) Is it possible to close a short position by opening a long position the same size? And if long position is a bigger amount, it will be placed with the rest amount? Or how does the closing works?
3) Will you add the possibility to "settle" a position? Means if you have a open short position, instead of closing it, you just sell real btc at the positions price to "close" the open position. That way you could sell btc even if you are still waiting for confirmations of a deposit.
4) What exactly does it mean, that USD is colleteral? Does it mean, if I only have BTC in my account, I neither can place long nor short position at USD/BTC pair?
1) It's the same with us - 0.01% every 4 hours 2) Closing is done manually by pressing the appropriate button in the open positions list on trade page under Margin Trading tab. Opening a Short position will not close a Long one - we allow opening positions of opposite types simultaneously. 3) There is currently no possibility to settle, but this feature is considered for development at a later date (we cannot give an ETA yet, unfortunately) 4) At this moment all financing of margin trading (both short and long positions) is done with USD. (more on how it works on our platform: https://support.cex.io/hc/en-us/articles/229092667-Short-Position-Margin-Trading-on-Bitcoin-Price-Fall and https://support.cex.io/hc/en-us/articles/229092647-Long-Position-Margin-Trading-on-Bitcoin-Price-Growth) We are considering BTC financing for both position types for a later release. Thx. 2) Is it also one extra API call to close a position? If yes, I would suggest that you make it possible to close a short position by placing a long position (make an extra parameter for the place_order/position call). It makes API margin trading much easier, if you don't have to close positions with an extra call and calculate the difference to place a new position. Also other exchanges introduced margin trading within the past months, but all in all I have to say that Kraken.com has by far the best margin stuff. (1) Settle position, 2) automatic close when placing oposite position 3) can use nearly all currencies as colletral)
