1181  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [Plandemic Survey] I wonder how many of you have been vaccinated ? on: October 04, 2021, 04:07:38 PM
People seem to use vaccination as a way to continue unhealthy habit such as smoking, and the excessive consumption of refined sugar. It doesn't work. Just get up off your bums and get some exercise, and cut down on the expensive habits that are destroying your health, and shortening your lifespan.

I've spent much of the afternoon disagreeing with you in various threads, but I certainly agree with this. Whilst living healthily doesn't make you invincible, neither does vaccination. Regardless of whether or not you've had the vaccine, you improve your chances, and indeed your quality of life in general, if you eat healthily, exercise regularly, don't drink/smoke etc.

If you are morbidly obese and have taken the vaccine, you are indisputably at higher risk than if you have taken the vaccine and are not morbidly obese.
1182  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How ethnicity and religion has lead to backwardness of most African on: October 04, 2021, 03:53:40 PM
All the corruption, money laundering, killings, kidnapping, unemployment, poverty and political instability are caused by bringing religion and ethnicity into politics.

I'd contend that the problems that you list are primarily a legacy of colonialism. If you want a root cause, you need to cast your eyes towards Europe. 'Post-colonial' is not the same as 'never happened'. Look at Rwanda. Look at Zimbabwe. Look anywhere on the continent.

Unfortunately religion is being used to brainwash and manipulate

It's not a bug, it's a feature. If religion is doing these things, then it's working as intended. But that's not the cause of the issues listed by the OP.
1183  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The keys to unlock the golden gate of herd immunity towards Sars-CoV-2 on: October 04, 2021, 03:49:12 PM
It is also apparent that vaccination drops your immunity by 20% or more.
This is not true. Remarks such as this are misleading and dangerous. Your statement is unfounded conjecture that flies in the face of overwhelming evidence.

If you look at the stats from Israel and other countries, you can see the truth.
Okay, let's look at the data from Israel:

Quote
10% of Israelis are unvaccinated. They account for 73% of current serious cases, and 65% of recent deaths.
In Israel, COVID is fast becoming a pandemic of the unvaccinated: Of the 644 patients in serious condition on Tuesday, 73 percent were from the small population of eligible Israelis who had not received any shots.

Around 15 percent of eligible Israelis over the age of 12 (some 1,105,000 people) are still unvaccinated. Of this group, 10 percent (755,000 people) are over the age of 20 and constitute nearly all of the country’s serious cases and deaths.

https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/unvaxxed-10-of-israelis-are-73-of-serious-cases-65-of-deaths-1.10251639

Many things can damage your immune system - coca-cola, McDonalds burgers, seed oil spreads, refined sugars, cream cakes, pharmaceuticals, recreational drugs, smoking, vaping, sleep deprivation, stress, vitamin "D" deficiency, mineral deficiency, high fructose corn syrup, etc. etc.
Having a healthy lifestyle confers benefits, of course, but it's not a superpower. It doesn't make you invincible and immortal. And it does not prevent you from taking the vaccine. Why not live healthily and take the vaccine? This is not an either/or situation.

1184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 04, 2021, 11:50:32 AM
In the San Diego Open, Ruud winner in two sets, he just destroys Norrie, 6-2, 6-0, cover the handicap and even the under if you think that Ruud will win in two sets. Still good to see Norrie played very well in this tournament except the finals, maybe he was too drain in the Rublev match.

That was a surprise for me. Of course Ruud has been great this year, but still, I expected it would be a bit closer than this, even if Ruud was likely to be the winner. I don't think fatigue will play a part as men are used to playing best of 5 set matches in slams, so 3 setters should be no problem.
1185  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If Democrats want to stay in power for the next four years, don't support Israel on: October 04, 2021, 11:21:24 AM
If Democrats want to stay in power for the next four years, don't support Israel

In my experience, the only way to get into power in a western democracy is to be pro-Israel which, because of the International Definition of Anti-Semitism, also means being pro-Zionist, and pro-killing-of-Palestinians.
The left in my country were eviscerated because they attempted to stand up for an oppressed people.

Really, if you have to include the below as part of your definition of anti-semitism, it is quite revealing. It's more revealing by itself than anyone having to mention that the lesson learned from WW2 appears to have been 'these camps would be great if we were on the other side of the fence'.

1186  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [Plandemic Survey] I wonder how many of you have been vaccinated ? on: October 04, 2021, 11:05:19 AM
If this is a genuine attempt at setting up a survey, then it is best to use unbiased language. The use of the word 'plandemic' in the thread title indicates quite clearly that you have an ulterior motive, and are not interested primarily in gathering data to reach a conclusion. Rather, you have already reached a conclusion, and are looking for any available evidence that might support it.

Please write in reply if you did, what was the reason?

completely free of charge?
Or was it the influence of the environment, prohibitions, etc.?

Yes, I had the vaccine.
Yes, it was completely free of charge. 94 million doses have been given in my country. No-one has been charged anything for any of them.

BTW... Vaccination is not a freedom issue. You are not free to stand in a public place with a gun and shoot down random passersby. Similarly, you should not be free to stand in a public place and cough potentially lethal virus onto people.
1187  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Something fictitious rises on: October 02, 2021, 10:09:37 PM
Kraken rising soonish, plenty of rumble on the way.

Emphasis on the 'ish' ?

c*ck

I understand the tendency to look for a religious solution — it's the last refuge for those who can't find any facts to support their argument — but frankly I can't see what the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Korea has to do with this at all. And I understand that the new New Auxiliary Bishop of Busan may be a controversial figure, but the asterisk is overkill.
1188  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The KRAKEN Rises !!! on: October 02, 2021, 07:24:35 PM
the Kraken is something fictitious, so it can't apply in reality.

Yeah, well, you say that, but the one I found (the image in my post above) is available for $450. You might be onto something though, because it says 'Shipping Weight 0.00 lb (0kg)'... which sounds like some kind of fraud. Or is this just because it's immersed in water, so it's effectively weightless?

I'll change the thread title to help you out.

Thanks! How about: 'Something fictitious rises !!!' ?
1189  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The KRAKEN Rises !!! on: October 02, 2021, 05:10:38 PM
Why are you talking so silly? This is a forum. We talk, and the more the better. Are we supposed to follow your line of thought, and shut down all the forums because they are a waste of time? The Kraken is simply one more thing to talk about and show silly pictures of.

Ah, in that case, my apologies. I thought you were taking this Kraken thing seriously. If you concede that it is all a joke, then yes, I'm perfectly happy.

Breaking news! Election results are voided because Biden is an Illuminati 5G Lizard! The supreme court probably said so!

1190  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "We Don’t Know What’s Going To Happen With COVID & That’s Okay" on: October 02, 2021, 09:02:27 AM
It is odd to see covid denial online but in some cases you could [almost] excuse it, as in: maybe that person lives with a sparse population density, doesn't have extended family or friends? But when the counter research and alternative facts info gets thrown around that's a different story.

There's a pattern in that some of the people (okay, mainly one person) who post unsubstantiated anti-vax stuff aren't interested in a discussion, they just want to create a noise. This is why there are so many threads started with ridiculous sensationalist headlines, and yet when you try to engage them in reasoned debate, or raise the question of evidence or even rationality, they just ignore it and move on, just starting a new thread with some new craziness (which often contradicts their previous nonsense - e.g., Covid doesn't exist, but is simultaneously a huge government eugenics programme). I'm not sure how much is trolling and how much is genuine belief, but the fact that they won't even attempt to engage in debate is telling. Their stock response is often some vague insult. A while ago, one of them decided to mock my ability to use the English language, and did so in a stream-of-consciousness, punctuation-free rant, with a lot of poor spelling and some very 'creative' syntax. This is all they've got.
1191  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The KRAKEN Rises !!! on: October 02, 2021, 08:43:09 AM
I know it's hard to take when your world is gradually being pulled out from under you.

This pretty much sums up the entire thread. Why not just admit this at the start? We're nearly at 200 posts now. This would have saved everyone a lot of time. And I wouldn't have had to keep posting images of this guy.

1192  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Dark Winter DIE-OFF begins: Mass vaccination deaths collide with... on: October 02, 2021, 06:37:11 AM
it's beginning to look like you just don't understand people.

I've had plenty of constructive discussions here with people with whom I disagree. It's just difficult to find an opening when someone continually posts things that are so outlandish and farcical that they bear no relation to reality.
1193  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Dark Winter DIE-OFF begins: Mass vaccination deaths collide with... on: October 01, 2021, 07:54:01 AM

This forum definitely exposes me to the sorts of people that I would never encounter in everyday life, which I think is a good thing.
We speak the same language, I have replied to many of your posts, and yet I don't think you've ever written a single thing that I either agree with or even find comprehensible. I've never written the words 'unsubstantiated' and 'nonsense' this much before. But it would be boring if everyone agreed with one another.

1194  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gov. Kathy Hochul At NY Church: "Be My Apostles" To The Unvaccinated... on: September 30, 2021, 03:08:57 PM

I think you have it the wrong way around.
The people who make decisions based on hard facts and an analysis of the data tend to be pro-vaccine.
The anti-vaxxers are the ones who ignore evidence and have a faith-based approach.

Just look at all the threads on this board. Who is posting links to data sources? Who is posting links to people ranting on YouTube, and citing the bible?

Religion is simply an outdated mechanism of social control. Science is what matters. Data. Evidence. Facts.
1195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2021/2022 on: September 30, 2021, 02:47:01 PM
Considering they were beaten in their previous Premier League game by Manchester City and also that they were beaten in the Champions League by Juventus yesterday, Chelsea need a win to keep morale up. They should have a win against Southampton but playing away will not be easy.

I think Chelsea and Man City are the best two teams in the league, with Liverpool in a clear third place. Chelsea should have enough to beat Southampton, it's just bad timing that they had to face City and Juventus back-to-back. Man United are overrated and Ronaldo doesn't resolve their issues - I think they will be fighting for fourth place this season.
1196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: September 30, 2021, 02:42:29 PM
We are going to be opening the new match weekend with a quite competitive match I think: Manchester United v Everton. [...] We might watch a boring match with few goals or maybe even no goal.

A 1-0 win for United, with Ronaldo scoring the winner in the 97th minute... you heard it here first  Grin

Seriously though, I'm not hugely impressed by United and the purchase of Ronaldo doesn't address their flaws, it just masks them. He's a great player and gives them an added dimension, just not in the way they need.
I don't see them as title contenders this season, but I'd say they're still (a bit) better than Everton.
1197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Group Stage! on: September 30, 2021, 02:35:49 PM
I don't think Koeman need to be sack,he needs time to rebuild this team

They can't afford to sack him though. I think I mentioned the terms of his contract a couple of weeks ago in another post. There is the 6 million pay-off they have to give him to let him go, and I can't see that they can pay it even if they wanted him out. But equally Koeman is stuck, because he needs money to rebuild the team... and there isn't any.

Barca are in a bit of a mess at the moment, and they can't buy their way out of it. I can't see what they can do other than promote their own youth players.
1198  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should fuel sales be limited in a panic? on: September 29, 2021, 03:23:54 PM
at least you can prevent immigrants from taking jobs that no one else wants.

That was their aim, yes. Perhaps certain people will now start to realise that migrants to the UK, far from being freeloaders bleeding the country dry, were actually overwhelmingly of working age, working long hours in low paying jobs, and providing vital support. But of course, they won't realise that, they'll find someone else to blame it on... and for all the talk of emergency temporary visas etc., I couldn't see many Polish or Romanian drivers wanting to come back to a country where they were routinely demonised before being kicked out.

One plus side is that the dearth of available workers is forcing companies to push up wages for what are low-paying jobs with often brutal conditions.
1199  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should fuel sales be limited in a panic? on: September 29, 2021, 01:55:42 PM
I am amazed that this fuel sales limitation happened so instant. Could this situation be foreseen?

Yes. 48.1% of voters foresaw it on 23 June 2016. Unfortunately, we lost the vote to the people who had "other" concerns.

a strategy to limit peoples movement

Yes, but not in the way that you mean.
1200  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should fuel sales be limited in a panic? on: September 29, 2021, 01:24:53 PM
There are also cases of people filling plastic water bottles with petrol - this is not only extremely dangerous, but illegal in the UK.
It is getting a bit absurd. Some behaviour is certainly dangerous.

There doesn't seem to be a shortage at the refineries, but there is a shortage of tanker drivers, and this is messing up deliveries. As a result of BBC and government statements that drivers shouldn't panic, everybody is panicking.
Media sensationalism can always be relied upon to exacerbate a problem. And I know that there are staffing problems endemic to the industry across Europe, but the UK has been hit much harder than anyone else. Don't you think that Brexit has contributed? I know you voted to leave, but the UK's reliance on migrant labour in key industries was one of the reasons I voted to remain.
