Too funny watching the americans raging about the fact that the rest of the world now know about their attempt at global espionage/control/surveillance/ruining encryption/whatelse A traitor? As an european i have to thank him, for showing us what usa did to europe Indeed. If you honestly think he's a traitor your retardedness is beyond words and I sincerely hope you don't reproduce (sadly these are usually the people that aren't smart enough to comprehend the purpose of contraceptives or the need to limit their pollution of the gene pool). Agreed and enhanced to support meaning. Does Honeypot hate America and post only to draw others to hate it? Methinks YHBT

we will book 400 hostesses. Can't tell if serious. That could be a large chunk of the overall budget, no? If this was meant as a humorous comment, rather than a factual statement about accommodations, I'd ask you to be a bit more circumspect in your claims. I realize you're putting in a large amount of work on this thing. However, at some level, you have a duty to not misrepresent what we may expect for our payment. The winky thing at the end of that line supports the humorous comment theory.

all people on the BF board are from the USA. This is insane, you all know it.
This i agree with, wholeheartedly. By becoming a centralized point of exposure for government attack, that's how. Agreed. That's sort of the point though, yes? Defenses grow where the attacks happen. Such is the nature of antifragility. If there are regions where attack is expected, through the misappropriation of legal machinations by TPTB or otherwise, foundations will likely sprout. It ought be no surprise that one formed in the US, where the legal framework is ornate. http://bastiat.org/en/the_law.html

Bitcoin has perpetual debasement, it is however, deeply under the investment growth rate.
As you know, it is declining asymptotically to zero, and will be annually <1% by 2032 and <0.2% by 2040. We agree on this. So the issue is with the rate of debasement, rather than the absence of it?

... just give all your fiat to your wife, I'm sure she'll find something to do with it Just be careful of the denominations, or she could end up getting handcuffed to a pole: http://www.wnd.com/2005/04/29732/

Thank you for the kind words. Such encouragement is our primary compensation. For those fortunate enough to get some of these first year pieces, there is now much more in the works.
In celebration of the 5th anniversary of the block chain, we will accept orders for the 2014 pieces in January 1-31 with the 5 hands hallmark. Only available in January 2014.

This is just ridiculous. I don't know where to start. Does one have to be a programmer to understand these riddles?
No, but it helps. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/internet/10468112/The-internet-mystery-that-has-the-world-baffled.htmlLooking forward to Jan 4th? My proclivities draw me to solve puzzles and mysteries, but my sense of dire urgency keeps me focused on the ones that have a concrete impact. There is no shortage of those, and while it would be a delight to meet others of similar mind that, and personal satisfaction of curiosity is a purely selfish motive for me when important work is also calling.

What's a dogecoin? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=361813.0it was a parody hatched on 4chan and the nether regions of reddit, it now has market cap of over $10M and is the fastest growing alt network it reminds us not to take ourselves too seriously Very coin. Muchly thanking you. woof I still don't know what it is, but I think I know enough.

Why support one that starts by presuming to speak for those who have not lent their voice to them? Why support one that based part of their agenda tearing apart another. The community is still too small and too fragile for such infighting nonsense? Build something.
OMG, English is not my first language. Why do you care about my wording? The idea obvious is good and needed. OK, just keep it positive please? Build rather than destroy. If the idea is to attack others who are working to support bitcoin in their own ways, and to presume that you speak for everyone (including Satoshi) in doing so, it is neither good nor needed. Come up with a mission statement of what you plan to do. Use any language you prefer. What you wrote instead sounds just like every USA politician: "That other guy is worse than I will be, but I won't say what I will do better, just how bad he is."

I wish someone would get serious about my suggestion.
Note no need to embed a battery, supply power to the embedded circuit via radio.
Not everyone needs to verify each coin, because the private key is unspendable.
We've been "serious about your suggestion" long before you posted it. The engineering and social challenges are not insignificant. There are finite bitcoin. To accomplish this you either need perfect durability (unfeasible) or the ability to duplicate while maintaining uniqueness (so that a worn/destroyed piece can be recreated). Otherwise there is loss resulting in unnecessary deflation. There are also social consequences to accomplishing that with various solutions in consideration. Some ideas floated among the bitcoin specie team: Unspendable private keys could expire (and need to be recreated prior to expiry), for a functional perfect durability. Un-recreated private keys could be added to extend block rewards (in an alt-coin). The mechanism for this could be a block chain registry of physical-bitcoin unspendable private keys (think namecoin). Yes the key should expire and the person holding the coin at that time should be able to prove it by having the coin sign a transaction to transfer it to a new private key, which would be a new manufactured coin. This could be done any time after expiration on the public ledger block chain (the signing circuitry in the coin wouldn't stop functioning at expiry). Physically it is going to be possible for someone to recover that private key I presume with considerable effort, so the denominations should be low enough that it is not worth the effort to do so. Maybe not an easy problem to solve. P.S. Bitcoin won't survive without adding perpetual debasement. And an altcoin will overtake it if it doesn't. The reasons are explained in my November and December posts. I don't have time to re-summarize. Bitcoin has perpetual debasement, it is however, deeply under the investment growth rate.

On that initial drop today, BTCChina dropped like 8-8.5%. Gox dropped like 17%. 5x the volume on Gox. (just ballparking looking at charts)
WTF....
exactly. house. of. cards. The ONLY thing I can see saving this market is a lot of offline purchases like the one Loaded did and new money coming from the exchange from big hands waiting for an entry point. But those are freaking loooooong odds. If this wasn't going into Christmas week, I'd have more faith. I mean, right now it only take ONE large hand to liquidate in China and the market will crash. I bet 2000 coins would do it. yeah if btc china is really toast ....it will sink in a day or two after jan 1st 2014.....then if we can stabilize at 500 usd coin I'd be thrilled that is a lot of folk to yank out of bitcoin at one time (unless there are alternate reasons or ways for them to use/move btc I'm not aware of ...noob that I am) Searing Do not underestimate the great walls of BTCchina. I think they will still be around and doing nicely this time next year.

I've heard a saying about when someone starts believing his company's marketing. "Smoking your own exhaust" I'd set up a an account with Simple because I heard they are bitcoin friendly. I've had accounts mysteriously close at very large bank just because I linked them to Coinbase via ACH. Banks are allowed to close an account for any reason and don't need to tell you why, just like you don't have to tell them why you close your account. I have accounts at a number of banks, but I won't use them with Coinbase anymore. I will use Simple for that. When your money is in a bank, it isn't your money. It's the banks. So when they decide to arbitrarily close your account, you can expect to wait quite a while for them to mail you a check. And if the word gets out, you may not be able to deposit that check elsewhere... Banks can boycott you, and they don't need a reason. Of course if you take them to court, you might win, but in the mean time it can make things difficult. I'm looking forward to a more broad acceptance of bitcoin. Spend it with those that accept it, and keep this project going.
