1841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cardano is most likely an outdated an overvalued coin on: February 17, 2021, 06:59:21 AM
Cardano got recently some attention by speculants but for fundamentals, Cardano is very weak:

Cardano is an old coin and based on outdated models, compared to advanced coins like Ethereum 2.0, Cosmos or Avalanche.
What made you say it's an outdated model? It's on POS and they are scheduled to release smart contracts next month. The same models being used (will be used) by the same blockchains you call as advanced.

I would compare Cardano to BCH, Tron or EOS. Cardano is a very similar age. All coins failed to deliever and will be dead coins soon. Tron is already abandoned because Justin Sun failed to meet his expectations.
Poor comparison. Ethereum failed so many times to meet deadlines on ETH 2.0 but you still call them advance.

Because most coins, when initially started, have a vision and try to look if it works. Cardano failed to deliever it's initial vision (it started already 4 years ago and failed last bull cycle). New coins will replace it and people holding Cardano now will pay a high price.
What's their initial vision that they fail to achieve?
1842  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: if the bear market starts next month on: February 17, 2021, 06:38:06 AM
although this possibility is low and probably won't happen. but I want to ask you. if the bear market starts next month, and bitcoin falls below 20k.
I understand what you are trying to say but bear market with BTC at $20K still sounds funny. Maybe because $20K was just the target not too long ago and I've seen it drop to $3K level.

which altcoins were still able to survive and which altcoins are feeling the big impact of the bear trend.
High cap altcoins will survive but all of them will suffer as well. We've seen it happen in the last cycle and it won't be different this time. Bitcoin is the real investment and altcoins are for speculations.

Grin i love getting $CAKE and $BUNNY
I personally wouldn't put that much money but we have different risk management. I'm also thinking you got them (CAKE) at a low price that's why your willing to take that risk. Best of luck to us I guess. May the CAKE and BUNNY be with you Grin

1844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [BUNNY] PancakeBUNNY.finance - DEGEN PLAY - Bittawm trust Review on: February 16, 2021, 09:58:44 AM
The returns are insane and the platform is not as reputable as the others at the moment. Welp, I don't feel easy but I still withdrew some CAKE worth a couple of hundred bucks from PancakeSwap and staked it here. Let's see how this goes after three days.

Those CAKEs  Shocked You are not holding back are you?

May kaya din siguro kaya ganun.

Sa presyo ngayon na $49,000 per BTC at sabihin na nating Php50 per USD, tumataginting na Php 757.46 Bilyon Shocked Ilang henerasyon na siguro mabubuhay nyan  Grin

Betfury set a very low price for the love box, and the reward of this box isn't even enough to cover the withdrawal fee.
When they offer something good and it doesn't hurt you, you take it. That is why I said at the end that you might want to buy if you already have ETH coming from the daily staking dividends you get. It is not advisable to deposit only for this purpose.

So I think this box might only be interesting for newbies or someone who wants to buy it just for fun.  Smiley
I'm not a newbie. I bought it to let my ETH grow instead of sleeping in the wallet and not for fun.
1847  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Xian Coin open to p2p? on: February 15, 2021, 11:49:50 AM
Another attempt para mapansin ulit.
1848  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Polkadot projects do you think has the best usecases? on: February 15, 2021, 11:38:37 AM
I've been seeing a lot of posts about the Ocean protocol in my feed. PolkaBridge also got my attention lately but I haven't bought yet.

Even i would like to see Usman and Masvidal 2 as he fought a short notice fight and i want that happen because there are not many challengers in the division.
Usman actually challenged Masvidal in post-fight interview. He also pointed out that Masvidal rejected previous negotiations prior to their first fight and only stepped in as replacement in order to have an excuse if he loses. Usman's not happy how he's been going about the "on short notice".

In case you missed it ^

Betfury released a new box with a Valentine theme. It's called "Love Box" Grin Unlike other boxes, I didn't notice any wagering requirement when I bought it. Unfortunately, you can only purchase one.

Price: 0.002 ETH
Rate: 8% for 7 days / 14% for 30 days

If you have enough ETH from collecting daily dividends, you might as well get one.

I don’t think anybody who knows what their doing would lay those kind of odds to bet against you.  Usman is around 1.35 in all of the lines in most books I checked.  Lol.
I came back to the website to check my balance but I got notification that the taker had cancelled it and I only got a refund. I thought I already won Grin

~ but that 1 jab from Usman absolutely destroyed Burns chances
I was actually surprised that Burns would actually drop from a jab. Yeah it was a good/stiff jab but still....it's Burns! @7788bitcoin probably got it right about the effect of COVID. Perhaps he shouldn't have rushed it.

Usman vs. Masvidal 2. Make it happen Dana!
1852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How to deal with high fees defi? on: February 14, 2021, 04:34:11 PM
There is no way you reduce the gas and fees eaten by these ethereum smart contracts. It's either you wait for lesser network congestion or you stop using them and send your erc-20 tokens to centralized exchanges. Uniswap and the other ethereum Dexes became the playground of whales. Smaller traders like me have already moved on to BSC. You can swap as many as you like there with just 10 gwei fees.

~ I have a the same message you posted, when I opened my account, but when I click on "Agree" button I get "missing translation: en.tron_err_msg.need_active_or_owner_key" error message. Anyone else got this ?
I'm also getting the same error. You are probably signing in with your Posting key and not the Active or Owner keys just like me. Unfortunately, I cannot remember where I saved those other keys or if I ever saved them at all. I just found out the function of each keys today Grin Too bad I had some SP in my old account and I cannot use them anymore.
1854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Privacy coins will be next trend? Your top privacy coins. on: February 12, 2021, 02:06:43 PM

How could you say that a trend when most of them are started to delist in major crypto exchange,
The most privacy centric coin Monero is still listed on most top exchanges but if ever these CEX would bend to the demands of regulators in delisteing them, DEXes like Bisq, BlockDX and XLite will gain more popularity.

Mind you that these privacy-invading regulations is also the one reason why these coins are gaining more popularity.
1855  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cvc,Cardano or Polkadot? on: February 12, 2021, 01:49:29 PM
I don't know about CVC but I would choose either ADA or DOT if I am in your situation. You could also invest in both of them if you want to limit your risk. After buying, don't just let it sit in your personal wallet. Stake it/them to further increase your holdings over time.
1856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MasterCard announces support for crypto on its network on: February 11, 2021, 03:55:21 PM
Is this a latest news cos there is no date on the web page,
Here's a more reliable source https://www.coindesk.com/mastercard-accepts-crypto-payments

Back in 2017, it was ordinary investors who were afraid of FOMO (fear of missing out). Now it is the corporations that are afraid of it. After PayPal integrated Bitcoin to its platform, the other payment processors are rushing to do the same and MasterCard won't be the last one. No one wants to be left behind, especially when it comes to modern technology and innovations. It's a highly competitive world, and in order to stay relevant the corporations need to consider new innovations.

That is not the case for Mastercard. They have long been interested in integrating cryptocurrency.
Quote
Previously, Mastercard supported limited cryptocurrency transactions through its cryptocard partners Wirex and Uphold. But those programs only cover payment, not settlement; the coins are converted to fiat currency well before reaching the merchant.
Quote
Mastercard first filed a patent for handling bitcoin payments in 2013 but abandoned that effort in 2015. It began hiring a team of wallet developers and crypto veterans in 2019. The company now hosts a platform through which central banks can test digital currencies.

It looks like they will have their own wallet this time to allow their users accept payment in cryptocurrencies direct to their account. It will be interesting if they can convince all central banks to test this. They target to launch the new feature this year but some regulations could cause a delay. Let's see.

1858  Economy / Economics / Re: JP Morgan says large firms will not follow Tesla's bitcoin move on: February 11, 2021, 03:11:23 PM
I went through the news yesterday when it first appeared in Coindesk. Here is what I find funny:

Quote
Even if Bitcoin makes up 1% of total allocations, it “would cause a big increase in the volatility of the overall portfolio,” potentially driving the portfolio’s volatility up to 8% due to Bitcoin’s 80% annualized volatility, the strategists said.

The last time Bitcoin had a volatility of 80% was in 2018, and with the institutions mopping up more and more coins, we are unlikely to see that sort of volatility anytime in the future. And even if there is an annual volatility of 80%, what is wrong with that? In terms of the total value of the portfolio, it means that the net worth will fluctuate between 99.2% and 100.8%. Is this such a big difference? Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou and other JP Morgan lapdogs need to stop their panic spreading strategy, because no one will take them serious anymore.
Coindesk article https://www.coindesk.com/teslas-bitcoin-buy-may-not-trigger-wave-of-corporate-demand-says-jpmorgan (I refuse to read articles from Cointelegraph after their erroneous bitcoin double spend article)

If you are in the same position of that JP Morgan analysts where you are also taking care of other people's investment, you'd also become cautious of the price volatility. Yes there are more institutional money coming in but that doesn't fix the volatility of BTC.

I think it's only natural for these big investors not to fall for FOMO after Elon's announcement. They would probably wait if there is a strong demand to support $40K level.
1859  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Importance of Bitcoin Dominance on: February 11, 2021, 02:13:32 PM
Was there never an instance where the dominance is the same while both bitcoin and altcoins are increasing? Ideally, that is what I would love to happen.
1860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: A Big Secret of BNB coin! You Must Read This Or You Would Regret Later on: February 11, 2021, 01:43:23 PM
So what will you do? Invest on BNB now or not? It's all your decision, and DYOR.
Interesting but not sure what to take from this.
Yeah I'm kinda lost as to what @numanoid is trying to point out here. It's like he's saying BNB was pump/inflated to match the performance of known companies worldwide in the hopes of attracting bigger players of Warren Buffet's caliber.

Rather than paying a discount on the trade fees, where is the use of BNB to be honest?
DeFi and CeFi provided more utility to BNB. It can be used for lending, staking and farming. And, of course, BNB holders gets a chance to join IEOs.
