1761  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Volatile Gwei Gas Fees help! on: March 06, 2021, 03:59:31 AM
~ I thought blockchain suppose to be more efficient and cheaper than the banks. What's going on?
If you take into account clearing days, it can be much cheaper than banks. Anyway, blockchain is not supposed to be about the fees but the removal of third party intermediaries for transactions between two parties.

~
Just select "Slow", "Average" or "Fast" mode to complete that transection and sometime, it cost lower fee than what it's showed before clicking on "Confirm" buttom to do any transections. So, better to use that functionality of metamask or crypto wallet from brave browser instead of using those websites to adjust gwei, IMO.
That wallet from brave browser is tied to Uphold right? The one that asks you to complete KYC before you can send/withdraw funds from that wallet? I wouldn't suggest that.
1762  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Market price on: March 06, 2021, 03:31:38 AM
Anyone knows a site or [someone] that can sell BTC or any other crypto at or below market prices?
P2P platforms are your best bet. You can also use this forum's Currency Exchange. I highly doubt you will see anyone willing to sell below market price unless they are in a hurry to cash out but best of luck.
1763  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What about RSK? on: March 06, 2021, 02:44:11 AM
~
It it not new, been in the market since 2018, but it doesn't have the traction so far.
I've been thinking of reasons why projects like this didn't gain traction and this somehow explains it. They entered the market at a wrong time and they probably didn't have the popular figure in their team that makes people stick with them.

Another possible reason is associating the project to Bitcoin blockchain. Around 2017, there were so many projects that says they are the next bitcoin or bitcoin killer which ended up as scam/dead projects. People got tired of that.

Right now 10 gwei doesn't seem to be too far away from 1 gwei for an emerging network (considering that ether went all the way from 1 gwei to 300+ gwei) , so what happens when we have another spike in number of transactions per second plus price?
Reduce the gas fee to 0.01 Gwei?  Grin

I remember Vitalik Buterin confessing at one point around 2018 that he did not expect Ethereum network to grow that big and the circulating supply to surplus 100,000,000 mined Ether in a short period of time. I think Cz is set for the same surprise.
I don't know what CZ is really thinking but I'm assuming they always plan to keep the fees under $0.10 He always says "be careful what you wish for" and I can see him actually doing that. They control the nodes anyway. There will be no bad actors unlike what's currently happening on ethereum.

FYI, there was a time when BSC daily transaction count exceeded that of Ethereum and the fees remained more or less the same. That tells us they can handle the traffic.
1765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do you trade on these exchanges hotbit, stex, kucoin, crex24 and tradeogre? on: March 05, 2021, 07:39:13 AM
It feels like 2017 again when you mentioned those exchanges Grin

Crex24, Tradeogre, and Stex are popular destinations of mineable altcoins back in the day. I don't know which of these coins you are holding but check their trading volumes and ratings first on Coingecko.
1766  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Volatile Gwei Gas Fees help! on: March 05, 2021, 06:03:12 AM
Even we use the 'recommended gas amount? It will still affect the volatility of the gas fee?
~
I think if you follow the 'average' or 'high' gas fee and send the transaction immediately, it will be no problem at all.
It does affect gas volatility in a way. Imagine thousands of transactions using the same recommended fee (i.e. 105) overwhelming the limited transactions that a block can accommodate. Someone who is impatient or an exchange will most likely try to get their transaction/s confirmed first by setting a higher fee (i.e. 110). That will have a domino effect.
1767  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If Ethereum classic can be hacked, what is stopping someone from doing it again? on: March 05, 2021, 05:35:20 AM
The sad thing is they should have expected it a long time ago and should have prepared something to counter the problem, unlike now.
U know that ETC Dev and Community mostly against fork like Ethereum fork before.
So they will not giving any change in this neartime until something really urgent need to do.
I seriously doubt they will move away from POW algo. They already implemented MESS to protect the network from future 51% attack and then the Thanos hardfork to further increase security and mitigate the risk.

I think they're done and have no further plans for upgrades until the next successful attack Grin
1768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Where to Buy These Tokens/Coin? on: March 05, 2021, 05:08:00 AM
@joniboini already laid it our for you. Gem hunters usually go to Coingecko, find low caps, check their roadmap, and follow their updates on twitter/telegram. You have to be a bit careful when following twitter/telegram accounts with a lot of followers/subscribers because they will only shill after they're done buying. You should at least understand what will cause the next pump.
1769  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲BetFury.io|⚡️Free BTC+BNB every20min|⚡️$3.5 mln Staking pool|⚡️$150K BNB event on: March 05, 2021, 04:37:43 AM
~
I'm really curious about how they decided on +2% and +10% boosts respectively.
I was thinking about that when I read the announcement. Maybe it's related to this:

Quote
100K BFG(BTC) gains $9,27 daily
100K BFG(TRX) gains $1,94 daily
The ratio: 9,27/1,94 ≈ 4,77

$1.94 and $9.27 were rounded off to $2 and $10 respectively for a more convenient computation. 2% coming from $2/100K tokens and 10% from $10/100K. This is just my wild guess.

~
the worse decision I made in the past is wasting my BFG BTC token in the auction, I lose half of it,
I never did auction but I lost some of my BFG (BTC) on Crash. I felt scared that time and I never tried wagering it again Grin
1770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: 1inch Network expands to Binance Smart Chain on: March 05, 2021, 03:08:04 AM
~ but I think Binance smart chain is doing exactly the same mistake Ethereum did in the beginning, if I am not missing anything.
~
If they grow to ETH capacity what will fees look like? Same as Ether now so what's the difference except BSC is highly centralized right?
~
I also  would like to know what binance's approach to this is and whether their solution adds anything from their side or not?
I remember reading a tweet that the fees went down gradually from xx (can't remember exact numer) to the current 10 gwei. If BSC gets more volume and if the BNB price shoots to $1000 or more, I can see them reducing standard fees again.

Fun Fact: Binance Smart Chain is currently running on 21 nodes compared to Ethereum's thousands. So you could also say that it's a centralized solution to the problem.
1771  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲BetFury.io|⚡️Free BTC+BNB every20min|⚡️$3.5 mln Staking pool|⚡️$150K BNB event on: March 05, 2021, 02:37:42 AM
I voted in favor of the merge mainly because I have more TRX tokens and I do not get much from it. The 10% additional tokens is also a nice offer.

~
They state that BFG(TRX) holders gain 10% higher payouts, while BFG(BTC) holders gain 2% higher payouts. However, I believe only the number of BFG changes (they aren't adding anything to the divpool). If everyone has more tokens, it's as if no one has more tokens.
I had to read twice to get your point and, yes, it doesn't really change the payout for current holders. The higher payouts will be in comparison to the new miners/holders.
1772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If Ethereum classic can be hacked, what is stopping someone from doing it again? on: March 04, 2021, 08:11:28 AM

The current ethereum is also hard to attack, though it changes algo soon...
Yeah the switching to POS is still an unknown territory for speculative people in the crypto space that's why I wouldn't recommend that over a tested blockchain like Bitcoin yet. OP is also looking for a coin with finite supply which ETH is currently not.
1773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin can x10 for now? on: March 04, 2021, 08:02:42 AM
If tenbaggers are what you are looking for, you should stick with DeFi related projects launched on Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Polkadot, and even Polygon. You can also look for tokens that are supported by popular people like CZ for example. SFP was the latest that I know of that pumped really well after their token sale.

Keep in mind that these projects are high risks.
1774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If Ethereum classic can be hacked, what is stopping someone from doing it again? on: March 04, 2021, 07:52:56 AM
.... but... what is stopping a hack and I lose my funds?
Stopping a 51% attack as @ryzaadit already pointed out.

1. More community support and more nodes running the software to help strengthen the network.
2. Developers upping their game to prevent future attacks. I'm sure they have plans but it's still a matter of execution.

You are probably attracted to ETC because it's also cheaper but if you don't want to stress yourself from another 51% attack, stick with Bitcoin.
1775  Economy / Economics / Re: Cathie Wood - Non Fungible Tokens (NFT) & Wallets will disrupt the markets on: March 04, 2021, 07:25:34 AM
NFTs has seriously gained traction in the past few months. It's so easy to create one that some NFTs are crazily overvalued. I even saw a digital cat that was sold for $600K Grin I read a buyer's explanation that it's about supporting the NFT ecosystem but that's still too much.

Anyway, I'm not sure about the long-term sustainability of this niche. I feel like it's only the popular/reputable people that will benefit the most. Value will also depend on the rarity of an item.
1776  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 04, 2021, 05:55:04 AM
This is probably the first major event that I refused to watch all the promotional videos.

Yeah Israel has the dexterity and the quickness to avoid Jan's powerful punches but I doubt he can avoid them all.

My bet has already been placed on the defending champ but learning about Stake's 3X offer for Israel makes me wanna bet on him too Grin

~
please note that for Stake is only when Israel TKO Jan .
Yes, I am aware of that.

By the way, we have now started a daily depositor constest on Twitter: 5 winners every 24 hours for the whole month.
I joined the first one by depositing over $10 but wasn't lucky. I didn't expect that there would be more and thought of withdrawing some of that deposited amount to join again. I wonder if someone else had done that already. Would you be okay with that?
1778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Is the Best Stable Coin for Saving? on: March 04, 2021, 04:54:35 AM
~ many advantages one of them is a transaction tool low fee fast network
I would agree on low fees if it's the TRC-20 version but the erc-20 USDT is another matter. We all know the congestion and the high fees over the ethereum network. I'd prefer BUSD when we're talking about fast and cheap.
1779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Huge profit but how to withdraw on: March 03, 2021, 04:29:39 AM
Central Bank of Nigeria recently issued a memorandum to ban all bank accounts of users that were involved in cryptocurrency trading but Binance P2P added Naira as one of their fiat option. Check that platform. Your local currency might be available there too.
OP did not mention that he is from Nigeria, except you now him personally. That is not also stated in his profile. I checked that now. And if he is from Nigeria he should have seen where other Nigerians hang out in the forum to discuss issues affecting them since he has been in the forum for years now. Nigerians there also offer trading activities too. Here is the link https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5121680.0
I didn't say that the OP is from Nigeria. Did you not read the "Your local currency might be available there too" part? I am giving the him/her an example of a country that recently enforced a ban and yet there's a P2P exchange that still allows fiat-crypto (vice versa) trading.
1780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Where is the best place to buy a doge? on: March 03, 2021, 03:54:05 AM
Here are the exchanges that allows trading of Doge https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/dogecoin#markets

You should read their terms and conditions first, especially KYC, if you do not have an account on those centralized exchanges yet. There are some countries that are also prohibited.

I'd probably say Binance because of the No KYC under 2 BTC withrawal policy.
