1301  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Being drunk while trading your experience on: March 12, 2023, 09:53:24 PM
An hour ago, I went out with a friend of mine and it happens to be a drinking hall (bear parlor) where he got drunk and as well trading.
You meant Beer parlor, right?

Are you sure you are alright, mate?  Grin

Quote
The question is, can you trade while you are already drunk?
I don't think it's something that should be advisable, just like it is not advisable to operate machinery when under the influence of alcohol.

The fact is, once one is drank, the ability to make rational decisions is reduced. Proper decision-making is very vital in trading
1302  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bisq - Exchange, Decentralized. on: March 11, 2023, 11:46:58 PM
hi OP, what should I do because i can't update my Bisq app??

https://i.imgur.com/Y5iY1qO.png
The same problem happened to me a few days back, the file would download to around halfway and then all of a sudden fail. My network was not at its best, so it could have probably been the network, though some other apps could download and update without a single problem

I will try again and see if it can now update.
1303  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitget exchange on: March 11, 2023, 11:40:40 PM
What do you think about the new exchange Bitget, which is advertised by Messi. Do you think it is trustworthy.
Messi or any other top personality advertising an exchange is not an endorsement that the exchange should be trusted 100%. it's obvious the chose messi to advertise for them because he has a large following.

They have good and attractive promotions.Otherwise, there are many new exchange offices that appear every day. This one seems ok to me.
What do you think.
The exchange is not new thou. It's been around for about 5 years.
1304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETHW vs ETC mining related questions for clarity on: March 11, 2023, 10:42:05 PM
Perhaps the fear of the unknown when it comes to a new coin like ETHW. Most miners and traders are a little more familiar to ETC since it's an older coin (about 7 years now) and has shown promising up turns in the past, whilst ETHW is still an uncharted territory. ETHW could just continue to tank even during the next bull run.

1305  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: America's first nuclear-powered bitcoin mining farm on: March 11, 2023, 10:03:39 PM
I don't think that nuclear energy is cheap because waste disposal is very expensive.
I mean as per the rate quoted in the article. It seems pretty cheap which means the operational costs could also be cheap but anyways i really don't know much about what it takes to set up a nuclear plant.

Maybe they are just given discounted tariffs as per an agreement.

But hydropower looks more attractive.
Probably not in most countries, including mine. Even the industrial tariffs are just unbearable
1306  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Biden proposed 30% mining tax. what would impact on Bitcoin mining? on: March 10, 2023, 11:52:31 PM
President Joe Biden's administration has imposed a 30% tax on bitcoin mining electricity use. Bitcoin mining was not very profitable even though this tax was not levied in the past. But what impact will the new electricity cost have on Bitcoin mining?
Bitcoin mining profitability is mostly seasonal with several factors determining the profitability such as Bitcoin Price, hash rate and the changes in Bitcoin transaction fees.

Quote
Will this additional electricity tax attract new miners to Bitcoin mining?
Will the 30% tax on Bitcoin mining work outside the US?  Grin

Quote
What will be the impact on hashpower for a 30% mining tax?
Absolutely nothing, mining is not done only in the US. Also, not everyone in the US will stop mining because of the 30% mining tax

Quote
What are the old mining companies thinking about this tax?
If you were a miner, what would you think about the tax?
1307  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: America's first nuclear-powered bitcoin mining farm on: March 10, 2023, 11:21:14 PM
Interesting, I had no idea that Nuclear power is much cheaper at 2 cents per kilowatt-hour of power as compared to the U.S. industrial average of 9 cents/kWh or was this just as per the agreement with the nuclear company?

If Nuclear Energy is cheap, why aren't we seeing widespread use of it as compared to fossil fuel?
1308  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: OpenCEX, a Free Open-Source Crypto Exchange Engine on: March 09, 2023, 11:50:58 PM
Thanks for the response.

Might I suggest that this Announcement is best suitable for Service Announcements board?

However, that's for you to decide.
1309  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how do i quote multiple people in one post on: March 07, 2023, 02:49:27 PM
You want to do pyriamid quoting?

Simple.

On the last post made by the person you want to reply, just hit the quote button. The quoted text will automatically appear in the reply box

But most members don't like this kind of quoting or replying since you are replying to the last person. Why quote all the previous replies?
1310  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need help - How to do signeture camping .. on: March 07, 2023, 02:25:27 PM
You have posted in the wrong board, though, this should be in Beginners and help. Move it there.

Most bitcoin paying signature campaigns do not require Jr Members, so you might want to rank up first before you can really think about Signature campaigns

You can check this thread to keep track of signature campaigns Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 05-Mar-23]

But your sole purpose should not be signature campaigns. What is very important is that you attain knowledge about Bitcoin, other cryptos, trading etc. In the long run, it will be beneficial to you. Joining Sig campaigns should just be a small bonus.
1311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can all currency be mined? on: March 07, 2023, 02:09:16 PM
Mining, in technical terms, is digging dirt looking for specific metals or minerals. Last time I checked my GPUs can't dig dirt.
You're arguing about metaphors. They can mean anything you want them to mean.
To be fair, digging dirt also involves some hardware power in order to extract minerals, I believe this is the whole point of the careful selection of the word mining, isn't it? Otherwise, they couldn't have ended up with "mining". They could have just said we are producing or growing or constructing Bitcoins  Grin

...and AFAIK, not all conventional mining involves digging dirt.

But we are diverting away from the topic

I wake up one day, stake 10,000 BNB in anticipation for a staking reward which I know it will receive based on all those mathematical APYs and APRs. Do you consider this crypto mining?
1312  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: OpenCEX, a Free Open-Source Crypto Exchange Engine on: March 07, 2023, 01:49:36 PM
With OpenCEX you can create your own crypto exchange for free and start your cryptocurrency business. 🪙[/size]

What's the catch?

You surely wouldn't spend your time and resources creating such a good platform only for you to provide it for people to use for free. Would you?
There's something we probably don't know about.

How are you going to get funds to keep the project running? Donations from well-wishers?

1313  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Apirone.com - crypto payments gateway on: March 07, 2023, 12:58:14 PM
No KYC or KYB. This service is like Blockchain-As-A-Service.
I understand all this and I am fully behind you.

Since it's a service, the issue about terms of service should not be taken lightly. In case of a legal dispute, the terms of will save you lots of trouble. I hope you know this. Things can happen so fast in the digital world.
1314  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Experience on Bitcoin on: March 07, 2023, 12:38:12 PM
My regret is not getting very curious to know more about Bitcoin in the earlier years when I heard people talk about it and when I saw the price, i thought it was already too expensive for me

However since I got to know and use Bitcoin, no negative remarks have ever made me stop believing in Bitcoin. All i try to do is challenge myself to hold Bitcoins long enough. Even the earlier adopters who had 500 BTC and did not hold long enough didn't really enough the benefits of the price pump after some years.
1315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin can't be rubbed on: March 06, 2023, 11:28:54 PM
You meant to say, "bitcoin can't be robbed"?

Perhaps a more suitable title would be, "Bitcoins can not be stolen from a Bitcoin ATM by breaking into it"

But yes, someone can rob your Bitcoins in other ways like telling you to transfer the coins to the robber's address under gun point or if someone accesses your seed phrases to your addresses containing the Bitcoins.
1316  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Forget about exchanger search! Use BestChange! on: March 06, 2023, 10:46:51 PM
Also, do you have some kind of update log that is publicly visible somewhere, where we can see which new services are in the process of being added to the monitoring or even possibly suspended/removed?
I remember making a similar suggestion last year, but this was their response

If an exchanger was sometimes added to our monitor, even after its exclusion, its page will be available with a special mark “disabled”, for example:

Code:
https://www.bestchange.com/btcstaff-exchanger.html

Very rarely, in some exclusive cases, we can fully destroy the page of an exchanger in the listing (only our internal notes will remain), and the visit will lead to the main page of the monitor. But your case does not fit for this exclusion, we haven’t ever created a page for the specified exchanger, that is why you don’t see a record about it.
Regarding a separate list for the excluded exchangers or the websites awaiting the listing, we will think how we can implement it, and if it won’t damage our reputation or SEO. We will try to implement it, but can’t promise it.

So they may or may not implement it.

1317  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buy and sell bitcoins worldwide without KYC on: March 06, 2023, 10:33:28 PM
I see you are using some Russian bank and with the recent measures and the prohibition of many countries from dealing with Russian banks, there will be no problem for users, as we are not from the local Board.
this is multinational forum and i don't thing they can deal with Russian.
Therefore, you must either impose the identity or tell the allowed and prohibited countries.
I think they allow all countries from around the globe except for the United States as per their terms. If the few traders who have so far made the offers in the platform are genuine, then it probably a coincidence that most of them are from Russia. But I do some offer from the US as well  Cheesy
1318  Economy / Services / Re: Discord Bitcoin / Crypto Currency Groups on: March 06, 2023, 09:17:09 PM
bump

Anyone willing to help and tell about some good crypto discord groups ?

Or there aren't any and that's why no one replied  Huh
Maybe because you posted in the wrong board?

Try Trading Discussion. You might get a couple of suggestions.

I don't know any good signal group in my telegram or discord because I never believe in them and probably most people around don't either. But Good luck in your quest.
1319  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.025BTC Loan, 4 weeks, 700 USD locked collateral on: March 06, 2023, 09:02:58 PM
OP, if the token is locked until 9th May 2023, then that's not collateral since you are seeking a 4-week loan... probably up to 6th April from today. This is a very high risk for lender.

Firstly, if I understand well, the token is locked in an account bound to a platform that can vanish overnight
Secondly, There are very high chances of a rug pull. You know, this has been very common.

1320  Economy / Exchanges / Re: loss insurance Scam or Legit? on: March 06, 2023, 08:50:36 PM
This crypto exchange (atcplus.top) is offering loss insurance up to 80%. I've never heard of anything like this before so I was wondering if this was a scam or legit.
"if the deal is too good to be true, then it's probably a scam"

Always remember that quotation when you're dealing with any form of service either on the internet or out there

Sadly a friend of mine was told about this exchange by a another "friend" so he invested a significant amount of money. Now that he wishes to withdraw it, they told him he needs to invest a minimum amount before they allow withdrawals, so he put more in. Then they say he needs to add another large amount for taxes before he can withdraw.
Sadly, your friend got scammed, and they will keep asking him for more money and coming up with different excuses until he realizes that he has been scammed.

Too late, but he shouldn't send them any more money. I hope he learned his lesson.
