Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Thinking of creating a discord server and send signals that we feel are legits

So you are joining the thousands of crypto and forex trading telegram groups, channels and discord servers?
One unfortunate thing about such groups is that when they are just getting started, they will tell people that if's free to join then once the server or group has some numbers, the will create a "VIP" group and start asking for subscription from gullible newbies
I prefer groups that are purely educational about trading and technical analysis and not just giving out "signals"

So, I mean if the backend guys store the keys in there server, it can be called an unsafe non-custodial wallet instead of making it totally the opposite.
or perhaps they also have "custody" of your funds since they also hold keys to your money? I think someone opting for a closed source wallet which claims to give them control of their funds makes no sense at all

Thanks for taking your time to provide more details. $350 is quite an amount, and once again sorry for your loss. I am going to create a flag against his profile and also leave him negative feedback. If you can, please, you might as well edit the original post and include that you just replied here for better visibility. I am going to use the OP link as reference for the flag Edit: You can support the flag: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=3165

A seller making an advert and then immediately locking the thread is red flag number one. It means they don't want people they have scammed before to leave any feedback or review on their threads. The mistake you did was to trust a stranger without asking or doing some research. I would love you to make a proper scam accusation with evidence so that DT members can leave negative feedback and a flag on the scammer's profile. That way, it will be easy for the guest users to see the warnings. Use this format - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260073.0

But you yourself are not even rich despite having the trick Why don't you first use the trick to make yourself rich instead of looking for $100 in different forums? With the 2000% tip, you could be a millionaire with in a month....but... you are NOT! You are just a scammer.

The exchange is barely 6 months old as of today, and now it's the best crypto exchange? Based on what? It would be better if you mention the fees and other details of the exchange because that would be helpful. However, if you are really proving a good exchange than best of luck. And, surely if your features and rates are really competitive then you might get some users.
They have something like this but still not so clear- https://247crypto.exchange/tarifs/Perhaps they might be having so more hidden fees.

Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What will happen to a wallet when the wallet company closes
|
on: May 14, 2023, 09:06:34 PM

What would happen to a wallet when the company hosting the wallet closes down? If it's noncustodial, members who carefully stored their recovery seed phrases and/or Private keys would still be able to access and spend their funds using another available noncustodial wallet that allows importation of seeds or private keys. If they didn't back up the seeds or private keys, the funds would be lost forever. If they kept funds in a custodial wallet, they would lose the funds forever if the owners of the wallet didn't bother notifying the users to withdraw the funds. Has any wallet company ever closed down before or experienced issue that affected holders Bitcoin?
Several times!!!

I just noticed that the payment for week 173 has been sent since May 10th, but unfortunately it hasn't been confirmed even though it was broadcast 4 days ago. Mempool.space seems to recommend a 19 sat/vB fee for low priority [it has been lower than in previous days], but that transaction has a 12 sat/vB fee. Just wondering, apart from being patient waiting for the fee to down lower, can accelerator also help in this case? Example: FREE/PAY BITCOIN TRANSACTION ACCELERATORIt's because the transaction fee is at around 11.8 sats/vbyte. I think we should practice patience as a virtue, especially with brands like BestChange. They have been with us here through thick and thin. The mempool is slowly but surely normalizing. Today I had some of my 15 sats/vB transactions get confirmed, this was only a dream a couple of days back. Transaction "accelerators" like the one you suggested don't actually work. They just rebroadcast the transactions into the network. Not including them, it in the next block ViaBTC would work in this case, but the transaction is above the maximum transaction size (0.5KB) required for the free transaction accelerator.

Enable historic rates and the list will be reduced to 4 exchange rate providers - Coingecko - Coincap - CoinDesk - BitcoinVenezuela
I think the individual private key exportation feature was removed to encourage better wallet security practices. It's not a bug.

Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What happens if an algorithm used by Bitcoin becomes obsolete?

I'm not necessarily talking about including this "new replacement code" in the Bitcoin code, but at least having the code on hand, ready to replace the current code. What do you think?
If you have a code in hand to replace the current code, then what's the point of trusting the current code in the first place? I believe we would have a hard fork if a flaw was discovered and didn't course complete damage to the Bitcoin network. The world of technology keeps changing over the years.

Well good thing is the fees are pretty low compared to what we has seen for the past few days so I hope this is the end of congestion.
I guess this is where we say there is always calm after a storm. Maybe Ordinals and BRC20 showing up before the next bull run might be a blessing in disguise (The hype for the shitcoins will have died down that no sane person would want to even here about them)
