1461  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance P2P - any experience/opinions? on: January 23, 2023, 11:32:48 PM
I can get the technicalities from Binance FAQs and guidance, but struggling to understand who would actually use P2P Trading for buying, as it seems more expensive than the traditional way of using bank cards or fiat deposits.
I think it depends on someone's jurisdiction. In my Jurisdiction, buying crypto using the platform is far much cheaper that using bank card or fiat deposits. That's how I have always seen it

Quote
Is it targeted at people from jurisdictions where banks are banning transfers to crypto exchanges?
Almost all countries that are supported by the exchange, actually.

Has anyone ever used Binance P2P at all and would like to share their experience? Any feedback, whether from buyers or sellers, is welcome.
Trades are smooth most of the time, but once in a while you will meet scammers who try to trick you. Their appealing and arbitration process is also very slow, and It can go on for over 24 hours
1462  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Basefex fraud, cannot take fund out on: January 23, 2023, 10:56:35 PM
If you want to manage such scammers, tell them to deduct the 20% (in fact be very generous and tell them to deduct 50%) from the amount they are showing in your account since it's all money...right?

I am very sure they will just go mute  Cheesy
1463  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: jl33213 SCAMMER on: January 23, 2023, 09:34:24 PM
My intention was to help her but luckily I wasn't scammed, I'm just posting scam alerts here

Good day
But you haven't shared all the details, like the screenshots of the chat between you and the accused. It's one of the vital pieces of evidence we need before passing on judgement if the accused is actually a scammer or not
1464  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Backtesting a strategy when no coding skills on: January 23, 2023, 09:10:21 PM
Tradingview is pretty good. They have a number of already made scripts and strategies under technicals and community scripts. I can also see some MACD strategy though it would need some bit of modifications when it comes to time frame, risk reward ratio, etc. but running a backtest through such script is not hard

Trading view uses its own scripting language known as pine script. I would encourage you to learn it. It's very helpful in the long run. I am personally learning it. I am halfway through the course online that is offered at Udemy for just $11 and learning it makes things look easier.
1465  Economy / Reputation / Re: This user is impersonating me, be aware. on: January 22, 2023, 09:37:36 PM
Looks like some stupid troll. The account seems to have had their post history wiped off clean a few moments back, I am not sure if they were just nuked, or they just decided to delete the posts they had made.
1466  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Success in futures trading after long wait. on: January 22, 2023, 11:03:51 AM
Maybe I am a little off, but I don't think this is a success yet until you close the position. You are only looking at "unrealized" profit. What id you wake up tomorrow and slow is down to $5, way past your liquidation price. Will it still look like a success?

Please, put in some risk management too, it could have gone worse and all your big position might have all been wiped. I am not sure if you would talk about that big loss too here.

Otherwise, good luck in your trades, it's a learning process all throughout
1467  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Exodus wallet, Latest PC version 23.1.2. Bug or issue with my device? on: January 22, 2023, 10:33:25 AM
Follow up

Have you tried updating your webcam driver? There could also be some conflicts between other programs that use that same webcam.
Thanks for the feedback, mate. It might be the problem with either my drivers or my OS (Windows 11 home, Version 22H2). I am going to try it on my Linux just to and be sure it's not a hardware problem and will keep you posted

I installed it on Linux, and it worked without any issues.

People are wondering why I used the wallet. It's one of the few desktop multicurrency wallets that came into my mind. Yes, it not open source and has a lot of vulnerabilities, but I am not using it to keep my long term stash. I was just using it to make small transactions of different coins in different chains.

I ditched it anyway after i did what I wanted to do. Thanks for the concerns.

>>snip<<
I don't think it's a case of drivers as the camera perfectly works with other apps such as zoom.

Can you confirm that your camera is working fine with other applications, and that latest drivers are installed?
it works perfectly with other applications

but I would suggest switching from closed source Exodus to some different wallet.
There are no many good open source desktop wallets, but you can use combination with hardware wallets like Trezor, or try mobile wallet called Unstoppable.money (for multi coins).
Ditched it. I was just using it for a few small transactions since it was multicurrency and had the desktop version.

Did you just recently install Windows 11 and Exodus wallet?
The only recent installation was Exodus, but the camera has been working well all along with other apps.

Anyway, has your issue been resolved OP?
On Windows nope, but It works on Linux. Anyway, I ditched the wallet software.

@OP
It may be strange, but sometimes the problem maybe related to the connection, have you checked that the wallet is connected and synchronized?
But on testing, it worked well on linux using the same internet connection.
1468  Other / Archival / Re: Selling for recovery 1.35 BTC on: January 22, 2023, 10:00:03 AM
Hahaha, Another scam attempt?

OP this kind of scam doesn't work here, try else where. If you are really concerned about getting the previous deposit address, they why don't you contact Yobit support to help you with the records? So easy.
1469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it possible to invest in bitcoin to build a country whose economy is down? on: January 21, 2023, 01:28:20 PM
Before we go any further, you have to understand how the market works and also not everyone will "get rich in the game" When you make profits, it means someone on the other side of the trade/investment has made a loss

Assuming the Citizens are all told to invest in Bitcoin in the current price and 3 years later, bitcoin price is the same or down like $10K, would you still say the investment has built the country's economy?

Investment should be a choice, and I think adoption and investment differ a bit.

1470  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bybit exposure with Bankcrupt Crypto Lender Genesis on: January 21, 2023, 01:12:57 PM
It's not that alarming since the 150M exposed amount is collateralized and already liquidated to 120M. A 30M loss is not that huge for an exchange like Bybit although questioning the earn program source of reward is valid
Who told you a 30M loss is not huge? And how sure are you that it's just that amount because the CEO tweeted about it?

If you didn't learn a lesson about the lies SBF made shortly before the FTX collapse, then you usually have a lot more to learn  Cheesy

Will Bybit be another company that will bite the dust? We all know that this series of bankruptcy filings is due to the exposure of fallen companies like FTX and Luna.
It's possible. Let's wait and see how all the drama unfolds. The good thing is that all my funds are off that exchange.
1471  Economy / Reputation / Re: I received this private message (Royse777's screenshot manipulation). on: January 21, 2023, 12:41:49 PM
There is a site that allows you to determine whether a photo has been modified with the help of any editors or not. In 2018, this site made it easy to identify fake photos. If the photo was edited, then the site clearly issued a conclusion on editing. You can try checking your screenshots.

http://imageedited.com/
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5055311.msg47163222#msg47163222

Well, the images were edited anyway, since some names were hidden. So that website, while it can be useful in some cases, it isn't here.
I don't know much technical details about the Image metadata, but what I also think is that once you upload an image to certain sites like facebook or even some image hosting sites like imgur, there is a very big chance that the metadata gets wiped off or altered when you download that same image and try to analyze.

This is probably to avoid the uploader exposing their information such as location where the image was taken to the public in the platforms. So in this case, it's useless to analyze an image that has been uploaded to imgur or postimg.cc
1472  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can someone point me to a DCB website in Europe? on: January 21, 2023, 12:24:04 PM
DCB=Direct carrier billing, had to wrote it this way
So sorry that I can not help, but I suggest you try moving this topic to the service discussion board, you are more likely to get someone who knows a service that offer such options in your area.

The option to move your topic is at the bottom left of this page.

Also, be careful about strangers who want to contact you in private for a deal. Always use an escrow when trading with untrusted members.
1473  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can someone point me to a DCB website in Europe? on: January 20, 2023, 11:59:54 PM
You know why you haven't received any response after all those hours? Assuming that everyone knows what DCB means in full. Please try to be clar about what you are asking for. You might find you are even asking in the wrong board.

What is DCB for starters?
1474  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777 is a dishonest person and thus my negative feedback on: January 20, 2023, 11:30:18 PM
I would have liked to put this subject to rest a long time ago...
Just let it got buddy. it's not worth it.

Yeah we understand you don't trust him which is fine, but you guys opening topics and counter-topics after the other in the reputations board doesn't help it. It only portrays the situation as some sort of drama and no one sane enough wants to get involved in such drama.

Breath in.... Breath out.... and move on, if Royse777 fucks up again, that's on him. Let the people independently judge him, you don't have to try and influence them  Wink
1475  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CEX.io unable to withdraw funds. on: January 17, 2023, 10:08:06 PM
It's advisable to always first have your account verified if you are planning to use a platform that asks for KYC verification. This will help you to avoid any forms of inconveniences. If the verification fails, well, you don't deposit anything there. Simple.

Directly on the website, followed by email. I'll try sending him a PM on-site, although it says he was last online on 1/12/2023.
The suggested profile might help solve your problem. I have seen them help quite a number of users. Don't lose hope.
1476  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is Remitano.com SCAM? on: January 17, 2023, 05:27:31 PM
Damn, I'm so sorry you lost so much money.

These fintechs only need your passport/ID and a proof of address of some sort, like bank withdrawal statement or utility bill. Maybe if they are paranoid, proof of funds Q/A and possibly 360° selfie where you rotate your head around. But god, nothing like video chat or visas, nobody asks for that stuff.

Phone number is actually quite irrelevant for verification when you have proof of address already.
Just when I thought a street selfie verification was crazy, now this one is over the top  Grin

It's like they just don't want to give the customer his/her funds.

They are simply facing the same problem some start ups face at early stage. Apart from that they are even doing very well. They have successfully mined and launched their Renec coin and they keep diversifying and expanding.
Are you sure Remitano is at its early stages?

Those folks have been around for about 9 years. RENEC is just another of the many pointless coins. Maybe they launched it to just stay afloat.

1477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Massive amount of GPU returns at my local computer store... on: January 17, 2023, 01:02:05 PM
Really surprised that they didn't just decline returns if someone is returning like 10x GPUs, which is clearly not for personal use but for scalping. Very surprised that people are still trying to scalp GPUs these days when ETH POS was months ago.
Too much greed or even just FOMO, isn't it?

The same always happens to most noobs when trading. I guess karma is trying to pinch back on the greedy scalpers that made life top hard for us  Grin

This store have to sell the return products with discount?
Should we say Black Friday prices will come in earlier than usual? Hahaha!
1478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: virtualempire on: January 17, 2023, 12:47:38 PM

1479  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcointalk is mafia on: January 17, 2023, 12:19:26 PM
It looks like a troll who just woke up from sleep just to try and stir some shit around here. For starters, where has he been all that time?

Good thing is that your bad reputation is there for all to see, A Ponzi supporter and a dishonest member who farms accounts through merit abuse. Why should anyone believe that this post was even made in good faith?
1480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: recommendation for broker on: January 17, 2023, 11:38:59 AM
I believe you are looking for a crypto-exchange, right?

You posted the question in the wrong board though, this is gambling discussion, you should move it to trading discussion. As for the crypto exchange, there are a lot of factors one can consider before using it and each person sort of has a preference

Factors like KYC and AML policy of the exchange, trading and withdrawal fees, transparency of the exchange, popularity of the exchange, the assets list on the exchange etc
With all those factors, one can not conclusively list for you your ultimate platform.
