Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Legal Tender in Central African Republic
|
on: March 28, 2023, 11:31:59 PM
|
Sorry for the bump but I thought this update could very much well fit in this topic It's the only news article sating that Central African Republic made a U-turn on bitcoin being their legal tender. unfortunately the article has a paywall on it, so it's not possible to read the whole story. I have tried to use way back machine, but I am unable to bypass the paywall - https://www.centralbanking.com/central-banks/currency/digital-currencies/7956294/car-to-drop-crypto-as-legal-tenderThis is what part of it says The Central African Republic’s parliament has repealed legislation that gave bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies legal tender status. A new law amends an April 2022 statute that proved controversial among the CAR’s partners in the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa. The CAR legislature adopted the amended law unanimously on March 23. Quite unfortunate, especially during the time when most banks and national currencies are on the verge of a complete collapse.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Advice on useful altcoin mining software

Hello everyone, I am new to altcoins mining and would like to know what software is used by professionals or just people who already have some experience in this field.
You are not being very specific on what exactly you are looking for. I hope you are not looking for the scam mining software programs that lie that one can easily mine coins using their browsers or an app on a mobile phone, and yet they are just malware programs. You asked a similar question in the Bitcoin mining board. The forum is rich with necessary information. You just have to use the forum such button or tools like ninjastic.space to search up the information you want.

Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which is more profitable trading ETH/USD or ETH/BTC
|
on: March 28, 2023, 09:55:49 PM
|
Can you give me insight, do you think trading via ETH/BTC is more profitable than ETH/USD? Please give me an advice.
if you are doing this on the spotmarket; 1. On a bear market, then ETH/USD(USD has to be a stablecoin like USDT). As the market keeps plummeting, and you sell off your ETH for USDT. The stablecoin helps avoid your portfolio from losing value as compared to if you just held ETH as you waited for when to buy or sell 2. On a bull market, obviously ETH/BTC is more profitable.

OP, this is a big lesson to learn. When you are going to trust a service with your money, make sure you do intense background checks. I am sure you would have missed seeing more than a dozen complaints about Bibox from the past. I have not heard of this exchange platform name. It is new to me. And not all the exchange platforms you see in the internet that are legit.
For me, I only started hearing about it when there were several reports from users getting scammed by the exchange

Anyone who wants to fool masses in the world just plays the God card, and please avoid being part of the fools The whole prediction and God vision about $50 per Shiba Inu is bullshit. Shiba Inu won't even make it past $0.001 in the next bull run. Mark my words. Just go look at the market cap and circulating supply as compared to the rest of the coins and you will know why.

not from google noob Don't try to act smart, lol We all know your text is likely from a chatbot or some search engine. Copied and pasted information is very easy to identify. If you don't know about something that is being asked. It's better you just ignore it rather than embarrass yourself.

|
on: March 27, 2023, 11:18:38 PM

My hesitancy in tagging BitMaxz now lies in the fact that the Blitzboy account seems to have been transferred in Jan of this year as it woke and changed passwords after a 1.5 year hiatus. There's a good chance the account has actually changed hands at least a couple of times because looking thru BitMaxz's posts he seems to be far more knowledgeable than whoever owns Blitzboy now or the previous owner, as well.
If the account sale happened several years ago, which appears to be the case, I would not tag BitMaxz now as he seems to be a valuable contributor to the forum. I'm waiting to find out if Blitzboy should be banned or red tagged for AI posting. Not sure what the consensus is on that yet.
I have had the same thoughts. I believe the Blitzboy account changed hands a while back, given how BitMaxz has been posting and how knowledgeable he is. I don't think he could just resort to copying and pasting from chatGPT a few years later. Problem is, he isn't helping us to understand what happened. He's just quiet on the whole issue.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The End of the Bitcoin Mixing Service, Should We Worry about Our Privacy?
|
on: March 27, 2023, 10:55:25 PM

How many mixers were seized in history? Only two (BestMixer and ChipMixer) or more than two in history? I didn't say Bitblender was seized. They voluntarily stop business. Bestmixer getting Seized and the Bitblender also stopping business around the same time meant that there was a very huge gap left in the mixing business, but Chipmixer and a few other mixers like Blender.io kept running and absorbed the gap. What I mean is currently, with the closure of chipmixer, a number of mixers will take up the gap left by chipmixer and continue operating as usual.

After there is no more free mixing services available, I am looking for simple yet free mixing methods. Who told you all mixing services have ended? Just because chipmixer was shutdown does not mean there aren't any other good mixers out there. I am not sure up to what extend you are looking for anonymity with respect to your bitcoins; but I guess when you use BTCs from other addresses (different from usual addys) which somehow protect your privacy at least 50% on what a professional mixing services do (I am sorry; I am not expertise in taint analysis or anything related to mixing/being anonymous on BTC tx). it's useless, lol. Coins can still easily get traced without breaking a sweat. If you want complete privacy and anonymity without using mixing services, then i guess you should try to look into privacy related coins like Monero, Zcash, Dash etc

How does this explorer work? I don't think it's able to pull data of all addresses from an HD wallet. It's pulling addresses from explorer that is connected in transactions and it can easily be misguided a transaction where the change address does not look like a change address but an actual payment address looks like a change address. I need to understand how it finds the wallet ID. It groups addresses together if those addresses have their Bitcoins get co-spent or act as inputs in one transaction. This simply means both addresses belong to the same wallet. If the address in an HD wallet has never received and co-spent any bitcoins in a single transaction. That address does not get grouped by the walletexplorer. Anyway, that's not the topic to discuss. I am just saying, I am not going to relay on the explorer.
It's a pretty reliable tool i have used in the past to discover two huge signature cheating account farms 1. A Farm of High Ranking accounts abusing Sig. Campaigns - Ban Evasion.2. A Large Farm of accounts cheating on Sig. Campaigns [HUGE UPDATE! 04/28/2020]

When Bestmixer was seized, around the same time Bitblender which was one of the biggest mixers also stopped Business, but this did not stop other mixers from taking over and thriving
Closure of Chipmixer is not the end of Bitcoin Mixing service. More will always pop up. In fact, as we speak, there are a handful of trustworthy alternatives. For example, cryptomixer is no small mixer and has been in operation since 2016.

I've asked this on one of these threads and according to a representative of one casino, they couldn't give us any details because this could undermine their operation and make it easier for scammers. Imagine that! They won't even say how many accounts a person accused of multi accounting had because it's sensitive information.
But today, they just did provide some information that helps us somehow understand what OP might have done. This is the kind of information we would love to see. They could hide most of the details about how they netted the alleged fraudster, but at least we need to understand both versions of the story for the different sides so that it's easier to tell who isn't fair. The information they shared today at least gives more sense to the story.

It could be so great that actions can be taken against members using GPT or other AIs, but what could we do ?
This is direct plagiarism. And in my opinion this should also be an offense that can lead to a permanent ban. Haven't we had cases where members have been banned so far for using AI generated texts? It sucks discussing with such lazy people to be honest.

Leveraged tokens. It's a very risk product and people misunderstood how they work. It's why Binance decided to delist them. I read about them and completely lost interest as soon as I finished understanding how they work. They are only very good for short term and at the point when the market is trendy (Pump or dump) Anything involving holding them for longer hours and sideways or market correction will lead to loses. I would rather stick to my futures trading Binance academy and support center actually has a lot of articles about them if you want to understand how they work.

Dear friends, we regularly update our service, and are always happy to share new things with you!
In March, we added new payment directions for tracking to our monitoring. ● Tether EURt stablecoin on the Bitcoin (Omni) and Ethereum (ERC-20) blockchains, Tether USDT and USD Coin stablecoins on the Polygon blockchain, and TrueUSD stablecoins on the TRON (TRC-20) blockchain.
Quick question; What criteria do you use to list new payment directions? Is it on request by exchangers or users? or you just hand pick them based on volumes? Now that Bitcoin transaction fees haven't been as low as they used be a couple of months back, I think there will be a rise in the use of Bitcoin Lightning network over time, Have you thought about adding LN (Bitcoin Lightning network) payment directions as well? I believe there are a number of exchangers that support LN.

100% sure I didn't click on a phishing site. Also check the Discord help-wallet thread. There are more people like me now
Can't check their discord help-wallet thread. I have no discord installed on my Linux If you don't mind, sharing screenshots here wouldn't harm. But just like I said I saw similar complaints on Reddit. My question is What are the developers saying about the whole situation? have they confirmed that there is a hack or there's a bug? Stay away from Closed source web wallets!

This is where I don't like how some of these casinos operate, especially in matters regarding communicating to a customer in matters regarding their account closure. Most of them never always give a proper reason why the account was banned/locked.
What is so hard with the saying "Hey Player X, we have banned your account because we discovered that you were involved in fraudulent activity A, B and C. On this day you did this and that, on the next day you did more manipulation" etc
Someone will obviously complain if they don't know why they were banned.

The big problem of ETH is centralization now, people or better validators need to have 32 ETH staked in order to validate transaction, just look at the number of wallets of ETH that have over such amount which is low compared to the majority of wallets that have less than 0.10-0.20 ETH and they are what I call now "burned" or "eliminated" wallet as they don't win anything. Now who guarantees me that a bunch of people do not buy so much ETH that they stake a lot of such 32 ETH or much more as you know, the people having more ETH staked means they have higher chances to be called and come and validate transactions, now tell me if this is not centralization please tell me what is and how such a project can be a threat to Bitcoin which is years of light ahead in decentralization?
Obviously with the current set up, Ethereum is highly centralized and yes Bitcoin still remains the king, but I was just comparing Ethereum to other altcoins. It's way too popular than most of them. Another thing is most people that came into the cryptocurrency scene especially during and after the ICO boom don't care much about decentralization unlike the crypto OGs. Most of them are just after getting rich quick, so they will bank on whatever coin/token they can. It's why centralized shitcoins like Ripple were at one point even second in terms of marketcap. If so many people really cared about some degree of decentralization (POW) vs centralization (POS). The likes of Litecoin, Monero, Ethereum Classic would be somewhere close to Bitcoin and not shitcoins like BNB.
