6101  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It's not a job on: August 14, 2019, 03:09:22 AM
This Welcome message from theymos makes sense. The forum is not an ATM, and users should not abuse it without any kind of contributions.
However, if your attempts to make money conflict with the forum's primary goal of enabling discussion, then you are swimming upstream, and you will not be sucessful in the end.

If you view the forum as some sort of "job" where you complete some basic tasks and get paid, then you will almost certainly be disappointed, and the forum administration will not be sympathetic. If you do make money using the forum, then it will be through innovation and entrepreneurship, not any sort of mindless busywork.

There is a thread which contains many crypto-related words/ phrases.
Terminolog.
If you already knew that thread, well. If you did not know it, just look at it. Please don't angry with me.

Bitcoin is dropping today....

Don't worry. I guess there are some whales whom binge-drunk today, and unintentionally click on sell button at wrong prices. Consequently, they unintentionally dumped bitcoin. Price will recover next several days.
6104  Other / Meta / Re: Limit signature campaigns on: August 13, 2019, 03:16:59 PM
The use of signature space is a reward for posters who contribute to a forum. I don't spend much time in forums that don't allow links in signatures. I think it would be helpful to make members aware that the content of their signature affects their reputation. If you promote scamming projects, then people will start to think of you as a scammer, even if it isn't true.
If the forum born without BB-coded signatures. Years ago, the forum born as the place for bitcoin discussion and developments. It will be fine if it return to its original version, non-signature forum. Then all ranks of accounts can be able to wear avatars, just disable signatures.

6106  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Main Club Partner of Watford FC ⚽ Fun. 🏀 Fast. 🎾 Fair. 🏆 on: August 13, 2019, 02:54:26 PM
Asking for the moderators to remove it is too much I doubt any admin is willing to go through zepher's account just to remove the feedback. Excluding him from DT is enough of a solution to this situation.
Since trust system isn't moderated by forum so it's not possible to remove any feedback's left by Zepher. Exclude him is only one solution but I don't think all DT1 will do it. Because some DT1 still believe on his judgment.
Let's see!
If someone pass away, will their Trust feedback still exist permanently ?
6107  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BitKrabs - Learn from this case, and be extremely careful with artist scammers on: August 13, 2019, 02:07:03 PM
It’s pretty weird. I would have sworn I saw his Twitter account’s Bio a few minutes ago, and it was different (i.e. wording was scam related), and there was even a tweet from that account by an alleged person who took over his account to expose him as a scammer. Nevertheless, that content seems to have changed over the last few minutes. Also the account states that he joined yesterday.
Nope. His Twitter account dissapeared yesterday. Yesterday, if someone search @BitKrabs in search box of Twitter, only found related tweets, but did not find his account.
Hours ago, a new account with same or nearly the same username appeared, but as you see, just a few followers. It's not original accounts.
6108  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 13, 2019, 01:09:07 PM
BitKrabs, a beast, who stole money of naive guys, and vanished yesterday.

Be careful, newbies!

You likely knew or did not know about that guy (BitKrabs on Twitter), but his scam story and his art of scam deserve to have a warning here, especially for crypto newbies.

I think we should contribute what we know about scammers' strategies in order to help the crypto world as clean as possible. They always appear and change their strategies over time, but it is valuable to take a look at BitKrabs case.

He bet with Binance CEO on bitcoin future, and he bet 10 BTC that he chose Bitcoin will fall below $8k.
https://bitcoinist.com/whale-bets-binance-ceo-10-btc-that-price-will-drop-below-8k/

He also claimed that he manage a huge funds of bitcoin, and yesterday terrible thing occured when he vanished with bitcoin of naively crypto investors.
His Twitter channel deleted too.

Be careful, extremely careful before you give your money to other hands!

Zepher passed away in late of February this year (the Zepher Memorial Thread made on February 25, 2019, around 5 months and a half ago. I think if there are criteria to excludes DT members, 1 or 2, 6 months is a long period enough to activate exclusive criteria.
Additionally, I don't see issues with exclusion for inactive DT members. In most cases, I observe that when one DT members leave negative feedback, there are some other DT members leave on those red tagged accounts too. So, excludes inactive DT members don't cause serious issues, because scammers will still get neg tags from some of other DT members.
Maybe make the DT2 one with a longer duration. 30 days is ok for DT1 but 30 days for DT2 would seem a little short in my opinion. It's probably not that uncommon for less active users to leave the forum for a month or so.
6111  Other / Meta / Re: If someone pass away, will their Trust feedback still exist permanently ? on: August 13, 2019, 12:09:56 PM
Over time they likely will and it's not been that long in Zepher's case, but there's also the debate of should feedback from trusted users be excluded because they're no longer active or have died? Imagine if you have a lot of feedback from users who have left the forum for whatever reasons. You could go from being pretty trusted to having little no feedback. You could make the argument that any active member would continue to get feedback from others but not always, especially if you don't do that many trades as you used to and that's why admin intervention may be better in certain cases to remove a specific feedback that's causing an issue, but maybe theymos still doesn't want to get involved in that.
I think it is why for rare cases like Zepher, whom passed away, and have solid evidence of death, negative feedback on cases already solved should be manually handled (with replacement of neutral or remove of original negative feedback). Only admin can 'hack' into Zepher account and manually replace his feedback.
If Hal Finney thread edited by admin, it means we always have special cases for manual handlings.

Debate might occur on cases that have not been confirmed as real deaths, not 'fake' ones, like forum treasure hold by paraipan , whom still have not yet confirmed actually passed away or not.
6112  Other / Meta / Re: @Theymos merit sir plsz on: August 13, 2019, 09:47:02 AM
This is a well deserve step to asked for smerit to merit a good post. Its good to bring onboard good post's that haven't been merited yet. I really appreciate you for that. Poor me I don't have smerit to give out (sob)
You can leave posts or threads that you think deserve merits; then merit sources or non-merit-source users whom see your suggestion my take them into consideration, and give them merits with posts or threads they agree with on quality.
Here: [self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source
6113  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Main Club Partner of Watford FC ⚽ Fun. 🏀 Fast. 🎾 Fair. 🏆 on: August 13, 2019, 09:43:57 AM

I asked about sportsbet.io case there: If someone pass away, will their Trust feedback still exist permanently ?
It seems that the answer of global moderator, hilariousandco, sounds fair enough.
What do you think?
Leaving a message about your case in my thread looks a good idea.
I think these sorts of cases will be very rare, but they will probably work themselves out. As vod said, exclusions can be made for people who are no longer active, but maybe even theymos could step in with the rare cases where someone has died and the issue has been resolved and the feedback can be removed by him if it's silly removing someone just for one feedback, but like I said, it can still be done by current default trust members if the community deems it important enough.

Trust feedback is like when someone is been cursed on whether negative or positive way, it keeps on following them till death. In situation like this, the only person that can undo it, is the person that placed it and nobody else. That's why its always advice to do the right thing at all times to avoid been marked upon negatively

People can be forgiven. DT members are added and removed and that can affect a user positively or negatively.
What will happen if one DT member gave a trust feedback (negative) on another user; then pass away, his / her negative trust feedback will stay forever. Is it fair, if scam accusation solved?

Their DT1 invitation will time out, and other DT1 members will no longer include them in DT2.
6114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Clone coins that use Ethereum code base to scam on: August 13, 2019, 03:36:05 AM
People who have been in crypto for too long, surely get enough experience to stay away from those clone, scam projects. Unfortunately, new crypto newbies might easily fall into scammers' traps. To help them have some good examples, and proofs of those clone, scam projects, from which they will have better knowledge to find out other scam projects that use same strategies to steal their private keys and money.

There are some scam projects that cloned Ethereum code base and set up traps to steal private keys from naive, greedy guys.
I list scam projects and scam accusations against them.

[ANN] [ETCV] Ethereum Classic Vision | Fork 3:1 of Ethereum
Ethereum Classic Vision scam

[ANN][FREE]🚀ETHEREUM CASH COIN🚀[HARD FORK]GET 3%-100%ETH EVERY DAY
Conslantinople Ethereum Plus [ ponzi scheme ]

💥[ANN]💥ETHEREUM BEACON - A rapid transition to Proof-of-Stake ✈️. Ethereum Beacon - scam project / phishing website asking for private keys

Ethereum Card
Plagiarised whitepaper

Recent months, DT members react fastly to those clone, scam projects by fastly leaving negative trust feedbacks on those OPs, just hours or a few days after they created ANN of scam projects.
6115  Other / Meta / Re: Merit system (infographic) on: August 13, 2019, 03:15:31 AM
I found theymos' reply
The point was to undo all of the effects (over multiple steps) of that source's recent sends. Beyond that, the individual negated merit transactions weren't important.
6116  Other / Meta / If someone pass away, will their Trust feedback still exist permanently ? on: August 13, 2019, 02:28:47 AM
Admin wrote that admin doesn't moderate trust in the forum (still not find where he posted it); and some guides on Trust feedback.
Anyway, there are many conceivable ways to abuse the system, but if it happens, you can just shoot me a PM and I'll fix it, probably in less than 24 hours. To do it in a way that's non-obvious, where I wouldn't blacklist the accounts, would require tons of time and sMerit, and is unlikely. I'm inclined to let the current criteria go for a while and see if "unknowns" actually start habitually getting into it, in which case changes would be needed.

- You should be willing to forgive past mistakes if the person seems unlikely to do it again.

I knew Zepher passed away months ago (Zepher Memorial Thread), so this case of Zepher raises a question that:

What will happen if one DT member gave a trust feedback (negative) on another user; then pass away, his / her negative trust feedback will stay forever. Is it fair, if scam accusation solved?
For Zepher case, he left negative Trust feedback on sportsbet.io months ago, before the upgrade of old trust system to Trust and Flag as we have now.
He left negative trust on sportsbet.io on 2017-04-16 (more than two years ago).

Are there solutions for sportsbet.io and others (in the future)?
Admins don't intervene in the trust system unless it's trust spam or advertising in trust walls. To get Zepher's trust deleted/not shown by default, one would have to either hack into his account, or convince the DT1s to exclude Zepher so that they have a net exclusion on DT2.
The special cases, special solutions should be considered. Replacement negative trust to neutral; or remove original negative trust
Trust spam isn't allowed. If I see anyone posting dozens of fake trust ratings (from one account or many alt accounts), I will delete all of their ratings. But Inaba is hiring multiple people to create these ratings. It is impossible for me to determine whether these ratings are "real" or not, so I'm not going to delete them. (Obviously all negative ratings are very likely to be fake, but I'm not going to guess about this.)

I agree that it is a little annoying to see a wall of negative ratings, but this is in the "untrusted" section. The way things are set up currently, untrusted ratings can be easily spammed in a number of ways. That's why those ratings are hidden by default.

I raised the question because people pass away every day, and I do think in some special cases, forum should have unofficial solution for them.
If forum treasure need solution with multi-signature, trust feedback should have special solution on solved cases when trust-feedback-senders pass away.
6117  Other / Meta / Re: [POLL] The Official Dirty Turds Poll - Which DT needs flushing first ??????????? on: August 13, 2019, 01:42:53 AM
Doing constructive things, being careful and don't let yourself get hurt by anyone else, includes scammers, DT members, staffs, moderators.
Basically, I think the main role of DT members and staffs/ moderators is to protect the forum and users.
Protect forum to maintain this place as clean as possible, from scam projects, shitshows, bot endemic.
Protect users from scammers, phising attacks, hackers.
So, if users don't hurt themselves, by doing rule violations or abuse the forum, no one can hurt them.

As a member of the forum, you are surrounded by legends; phenomenal successes and catastrophic failures.

The purpose of the forum

This forum exists to provide a platform for the free (but ordered) exchange of ideas. If you have an idea to express, then it is probably possible to do it here as long as you follow the rules.

A lot of people come here primarily looking to make money. The forum administration is very happy that people are able to use the forum in order to better themselves; indeed, one of the reasons for Bitcoin's creation was to break the artificial barriers which prevent so many people around the world from attaining prosperity.
[ ... ]
Beware of scams

This is a pseudonymous forum which emphasizes personal freedom and therefore also personal responsibility, so scammers are common. When trading, it's best to assume that everyone is trying to scam you, and act accordingly.
6118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 💥SOLARIS XLR💥100% PoS + Masternodes💥Txbit.io exchange is live now ! on: August 13, 2019, 01:36:12 AM
I believe the reason they are not going after a listing on other exchanges now is because they want txbit.io to shine brightly because it should be listed very shortly on CMC.
There are two main things for Solaris project:
Coinmarketcap.com seems not update exact daily volume in total for Solaris.
txbit.io should be listed on Coinmarketcap.com too.
I don't think people will feel readily to invest in project that have nearly 0.03 BTC in total volume each day. I knew the figure on coinmarketcap.com is incorrect, but if a guess just visit that site to have an overview on Solaris, they will quickly go away after looking at volume.

6120  Other / Meta / Re: Flag notification to support Flag system and bussiness guys, why not? on: August 13, 2019, 12:16:56 AM
I mentioned and asked for opinion on Flag notifications with active flags for thread owners, not DT members.
Reasons I already described in OP.
Just thought about one more thing: We all knew that Flags have three types, and Flag boxes will appear after readers click on links and open ANN threads that are flagged. What if thread owners can not see Flag boxes (only readers see those boxes).
By mentioning Flag Notifications, I imply a notification message in Inboxes of when someone got active flags in the forum.
