6281  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Impacting crypto knowledge to younger generation on: July 23, 2019, 02:40:52 AM
As a teacher for secondary school, you don't need to go deep in the technical.
Exactly! Just teach something to motivate pupils, then they will get motivations enough to dig deeper into technical issues if they feel blockchain technology is interesting and want to do something. The old generations are likely hard to absorb new terms like bitcoin, blockchain, ledger, txhash, and so on, but the younger generations likely easier to accept, and absorb those terms.
Giving them motivation, which in turn will change their attitudes, consequently they will change their practice, by learning more about crypto and blockchain.

If a site attracted lots of players and they didn't even have a complain about the site and the payments process then the new players that wanted to play and the old players will feel safe playing dice game in this site without having problems like they are not able to get their funds to their wallet to store safely.
It is a very long journey, and will be not a smooth one for sure. There are loads of challenges along the road, but there are also opportunities, as always. If the team do their works well, keep their promises, give good supports to their users, develop and diversify games on the site, over time, CyberDice will become bigger, and I have no doubt that it will become one of giants in gambling industry. It depends on the team efforts, time, and community supports.
6283  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If PoS has loop holes then, Why PoS? on: July 23, 2019, 12:38:57 AM
Proof of Stake does nothing wrong with blockchain networks, if teams can set up good specifications for it. Acceptable inflation rate and acceptable, fair block rewards between stakers and masternodes will be better, because over inflation will result in serious dumps over time when stakers or masternode investors want to cash out to get both their capital back and get profits from their investment. I don't spend my time to point out shitty stakable coins, that got dumped to nearly useless price, but you can see DASH, which is a good coin, with masternode operations. I don't see serious things with DASH, compared to shit PoS/MN coins that exist abundantly around us.
6284  Economy / Gambling / Re: OneHash || Mutual Sports Betting & Casino 🎲 || No Registration or KYC 💰 on: July 23, 2019, 12:31:13 AM
Yes that's how their casino works, they are mutual betting. They get a small chunk for the overall bet but there's no way for them to manipulate the games that they are listing, same applies for other sportsbook.
It is why I don't fall into gambling addiction because I don't believe I can make a fortune from gambling, especially if I get addicted. I can win big, a fortune, yes, but if I get addicted, I will lose that fortune later. Gambling for fun, win with fun and lose with fun. That's fine with me.

6286  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲EOSBet.io - Licensed Casino Platform 🎲Provably Fair 🎲NOW ACCEPTING BTC ₿ on: July 21, 2019, 05:12:02 AM
Buy back at this stage could be dangerous too though. I mean if you are going to list the token on an exchange and then buy from there then it is fine but if you are going to just buy back directly then it might hurt the economy since if only the team owns bet tokens then there is nobody really looking for dividends all they are trying to achieve is to give it back to the team after gambling. It would become rakeback at that point.
Buy back (if implemented) should be done gradually, and with step-by-step assessments in order to have an overview on results that EOSBet.io get back from buy back waves. There are so diversifying way to promote platforms, not only buy backs. Therefore, if after one or three waves of buy backs, the team don't see positive results, they can stop such promotion and try with others.

OneHash gambling is great for new users, it's easy and fast to register  Grin
OneHash has been here, in gambling industry, with crypto-accepted features for four years, since February of 2015. The platform is not the easy and fast one to register, but also a good one to play and refresh your mind after hard work days. Anyway, it is a good place to gamble and relax, if you are not really gamble your life here (with all your savings).
6289  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲 CyberDice.net - The Future is unwritten | Daily Wagering Contest | Faucet 🎲 on: July 21, 2019, 04:43:22 AM
It is just a matter of time until players come and experience the games but I do think that the best strategy now is to focus on getting the site ready and all setup before organising campaigns to help recruit more players Smiley
Yes, exactly! The first impression is important to catch visitors attention, and gives them some early positive feelings and experience on the site, then they will do creat their account, join and play. Or at least, the site will be added into their Watch List, and they might come back to create accounts later when more interesting games or features added over time.

I accept the rule, but how about a mandatory fixed post per week to be qualifying and get payments?
At least 30% of weekly post must be written in the Gambling & Gambling Discussion boards.
There is a typo (Monaday) and should be fixed. Thanks.

Long time no bump for the thread. So, today I would like to bump it and give you some basics on bitcoin transaction fees.

Fees dramatically increased to 52 sat/byte, temporarily. Fees for transaction with 1 input (148 bytes), 3 outputs (102 bytes) costs only 13520 satoshis.
It is not a good time to consolidate your coins. Wink

Fees dramatically fell to 1 sat/byte, temporarily. Fees for transaction with 1 input (148 bytes), 3 outputs (102 bytes) costs only 260 satoshis.
It is a good time to consolidate your coins. Move them now if you want, and remember that cheap fee at 1 sat/ byte don't last for too long. Wink

Fees dramatically rose to 2 sat/byte, temporarily. Fees for transaction with 1 input (148 bytes), 3 outputs (102 bytes) costs only 520 satoshis, which is double than yesterday fee.
As I wrote yesterday, best time to consolidate your bitcoin leftovers don't last too long. time to consolidate your coins. Anyway, it is not too bad to move your bitcoin leftovers with 2 satoshis/ byte, but if you don't want to move them now with such fee, you can wait to see fees drop to 1 satoshi/ byte to do this. Or you can just do you transactions with fee set at 1 sat/byte, then wait hours (mostly days) to see it get confirmed.

It is a best time to consolidate your bitcoin leftovers, but it doesn't last for too long.
As I said yesterday, cheap fee won't last for too long. Today, transaction fees increased dramatically.
Recently, fees increased to 60 sat/byte. Fees for transaction with 1 input (148 bytes), 3 outputs (102 bytes) costs 15600 satoshis.
It is obviously not a best time to consolidate your bitcoin leftovers, hence you have to wait some days or some weeks to be able to move your coins with transaction fees at 1 sat/byte.

After rocketed yesterday, recently, transaction fees plummeted to 1 sat/byte. Fees for transaction with 1 input (148 bytes), 3 outputs (102 bytes) costs only 260 satoshis, which is double than yesterday fee.
It is a best time to consolidate your bitcoin leftovers, but it doesn't last for too long. Hurry up.

Recent hours, it seems that transaction fees fluctuated around 1 sat/byte. Fees for transaction with 1 input (148 bytes), 3 outputs (102 bytes) costs only 260 satoshis, which is double than yesterday fee.
It is a best time to consolidate your bitcoin leftovers, but it doesn't last for too long. Hurry up.

Temporarily, transaction fees stood at 8 sat/byte. Fees for transaction with 1 input (148 bytes), 3 outputs (102 bytes) costs only 2080 satoshis, which is eight-fold increase from yesterday fees at 1 satoshi/ byte.
It is a good time to consolidate your bitcoin leftovers, and you have to wait for a while to see fees drop back to 1 satoshi / byte to consolidate your bitcoin leftovers.

Please check more there:

Four-days in-a-row (despite some pumps of fees over time), you have good time to move your bitcoin with cheapest fees, when transaction fees fluctuated around 1 sat/byte. Fees for transaction with 1 input (148 bytes), 3 outputs (102 bytes) costs only 260 satoshis.
It is a best time to consolidate your bitcoin leftovers, but it doesn't last for too long. Hurry up.

Please check more there:

Note:
  • There were shortly pumps of transaction fees yesterday, but last 24-hour lowest fee is at 1 satoshi/ byte.
  • You don't need to wait to see esitmated fee drops to 1 satoshi/ byte to start moving your coins. You can move them anytime you want, with fee set at 1 satoshi/ byte, then wait patiently. When fee drops to 1 satoshi/ byte, your waiting transactions will be prioritized to get confirmations.
A little bit update on transaction fees:
Temporarily, Bitcoin transaction fees rose to 34 sat/byte. Fees for transaction with 1 input (148 bytes), 3 outputs (102 bytes) costs only 8840 satoshis, which is much higher than just early hours today.

Reminder:
@gentlemand, that $500 million spike looks really weird (around 1/1/18)... Must have been when a lot of people pulled out as their money hasn't returned to this market yet (since we aren't at $20k).
It's more likely it was caused by the very high fees at that time, 800 sat/byte was "normal", resulting in $25 or more in fees for a small transaction, and many thousands of dollars for a transaction with a lot of inputs and outputs.

What is the total size in bytes of your transaction before and how many sat/byte you set for the fee?
I don't remember, but I move my coins with one input, and one output, fee set at 1 sat/ byte. If you are not hurry, and can wait for days, or one/ two weeks, you can spare lots of fees.
6297  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin transaction on: June 28, 2019, 02:09:33 AM
You could do that anytime actually, if you have no hurry. Just set 1/sat per byte and wait .
Guide here by LoyceV

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2848987.0
Exactly, it is better to consolidate coins inside wallets, but transactions to exchanges can be confirmed with fee set at 1 sat / byte. Weeks ago, my transaction confirmed after three or four days. It's cool.
Besides LoyceV's thread, I suggest to read mine: Bitcoin Transaction Fees - Everything in one
Please remember to check mempool situation, and suggested fees on https://coinb.in/#fees. Today, suggested fee rises to 19 satoshis/ byte, that is not a good day to consolidate your coins.
Additionally, time zone to move your coins should be considered too.
Time zones affect fees
Details below. In general, if you are not hurry, please choose the timezones at which fees usually are low to move your funds.
You can compare the data from this study with the data generated at Johoe's Mempool Statistics page: https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#1,2w. Here's a random 2 week sample I took from last September (click for full size):
The dates along the bottom are at midnight (00:00) UTC. So you can see from this sample, there is a spike in fees on most days between around 10:00 and 18:00 (when Europe and then later America are awake), at which point they start reducing, and hit a low point around 01:00 - 04:00 UTC. This certainly ties in with the data from OP's study.

It's something I've casually noticed, but never given much though to. But considering it now, I wouldn't have expected such a constant and similar drop given that China has more people than Europe and North America combined.
6298  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Transaction Fees - Everything in one on: June 26, 2019, 02:54:39 AM
It's spiked much higher than that much more recently. If you look at the third graph on Jochen's page here (https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#1,4d), just 2 days ago you were looking at fees of around 100 sat/byte to get within a couple of megabytes of the tip.
Thank you for the info. I simply compared yesterday transaction fees with the figures 11 days ago, and missed its latest spike. Thank you for correcting me.
Today, the fee rises to 13 sat/ byte.
