5721  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: November 28, 2019, 06:53:26 AM
Liverpool VS Napoli, it will be a difficult match for them.
The match between Liverpool and Napoli ended in a draw, that temporarily gives Napoli a little more comfortable situation for the last match. While at the same time, Liverpool will have a very difficult match against Salzburg that has Haarland who is a very hot striker in the market now. He is a very good potential candidate for next Golden boy, after Joao Felix who won this title days ago.
5722  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sendable merit give away contest (Full Member and below ranks) on: November 28, 2019, 04:00:52 AM
You applied with so many posts and threads but I only like those two. For the rest of yours, you mostly used information from articles, news, sites and I don't like it. Another discussion is here: Copy/Paste & Reference Link

You still won my merit contest. Congrats!

For your next applications (if you want), please don't apply with such posts/ topics that is reason I rejected your past applications (before your application today).

Thank you.
5723  Other / Meta / Re: List of Bitcointalk.org Userscripts/ Add-ons on: November 28, 2019, 03:32:13 AM
There is a request on userscript to get fully detailed information for quotes in blocked topics, includes author name, topic number, post number, date and time of each post, and hyperlinks of attached images. If someone has skills and spare time to do this, please help. I think this script is useful and will be widely used by users.
I made my request weeks ago, there: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5178297.msg52342695#msg52342695
Last week, @1miau raised the demand for a new feature Enabling quotes in locked topics, which is nearly as same as what I raised a long time ago.

In that topic, people commented and gave some potential technical steps to build up a script.
Steps to quote posts in locked topics
Steps to get imgur links in locked topics

I hope that someone will build up that script.
5724  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to check Bitcoin Transaction [guide][newbies only] on: November 28, 2019, 03:25:47 AM
@1miau replied here but he (likely) forgot to leave link to his topic (newly released): List of useful Bitcoin block explorers
That list is very helpful and help newbies have overview on unofficial ratings on bitcoin block explorers.
5725  Economy / Gambling / Re: ♦️♣️Natural8.com♦️♣️| Asia's Leading Poker Platform | Short Deck | Rush & Cash | on: November 28, 2019, 03:20:37 AM
But I don't like to gamble on a mobile phone. For this, I use a laptop and desktop.
But as I said before, I don't find it right to download any software to my computer for gambling. This is an inconvenience for me.
Most of gamblers tend to gamble on mobile phones or tablets but installing a software on computers (laptop or desktop) to gamble is inconvenient - that is what I agreed with you on. Computers are important and lots of private things stored in computers. So at somewhat extent it is a little inconvenient and risky to install software for gambling.

If I have to go with anything to gamble, I will choose web-based one as my first priority; then the second and the last is software on mobile devices.

This user creating custom layout theme for bitcointalk. But sorry, his post in Indonesian thread.
Thank you, Sir masulum.  Tongue
I don't understand Indonesian but for that topic, visual display is enough. BTW, I have a recommendation for that OP and if you can, please translate my words into Indonesian and pass them to that OP.

It is good if that one make a English version. If he does it, please give me link in my topic: List of Bitcointalk.org Userscripts/ Add-ons

I like this one because I was a victim of scam projects, back in 2017 and 2018. I like what you listed them in your topic. They are lessons from the past but if newbies care about their funds and spend their time to read your topic, I think they can retrieve some good lessons.

You won and earned one merit. I hope you like it (even only one) and from now on (next update of your profile) you will be a Member.
5728  Economy / Gambling / Re: ♦️♣️Natural8.com♦️♣️| Asia's Leading Poker Platform | Short Deck | Rush & Cash | on: November 27, 2019, 03:34:05 PM
Nowadays, people tend to use mobile devices for most of their daily activities, from trading to gambling and web surfing too but I think there are always demands on web-based products for them. If the web-based version does not cost too much bandwith and resources to operate and handle technical issues, I think the Natural8.com team should bring it back.

Anyway, there is cost-effective calculation and consideration, I know it.

It is very positive to see your news on more coming promotions and features on the site. Congratulations in advance.
5729  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just a little something about secure passwords. (Wallets & Online services) on: November 27, 2019, 01:50:20 AM
There's actually not much difference between memorizing 1 word and 4 words if you are using the password frequently (e.e., every day when you sign in to your email account). And if you don't repeat your password frequently, you will forget it even if it's some short word. This is why people reuse their passwords so often.
Correct! If we usually log in our accounts we will do remember them very well. Your reply reminds me that in the past, before the evolution from smart phones (started with iPhone, of course) people - me too, remembered phone numbers very well. It is naturally because we have to press numbers manually when dialling. Now, with smart phones we don't have to do this so I think most of us don't remember phone numbers of the others (few exceptions for very important people with us).

Changing passwords frequently is not the thing should do.

Because it will leave a messy memory in our brains. When we lose password backups, we will face challenges to remember passwords. Far old, recent old, and last passwords mess up in our brains.
Quote
But you are wrong that only companies should use secure passwords, with tools like passwords managers every person can easily achieve high password security, so why not do so if there's no downsides to it? Getting your accounts hacked is never good, even if you won't lose money, you will lose your time and be quite frustrated.
Passwords softwares like Keepass or Bitwarden are good ones for people who seriously care about their password security.
5730  Other / Meta / Re: Copy/Paste & Reference Link on: November 26, 2019, 05:06:58 PM
I also don't think that the copy/paste article+reference link without any comment or added note should be allow to post as it does not mean anything but to add a post count on the account, I think more of it as qualified plagiarism. I see that the first link poster is already banned and the other is not yet banned but sooner or later he will get proper sanction.
No, you are wrong.
You will not be banned as plagiarism if you use quote or leave links to original sources.

Those users got banned because they did not leave sources to original sites/ articles at beginnings. They only did it when someone gave them how to do it (I guess so). You can see those topics were edited (......).

I checked. The others gave warnings to OP in second posts of those topics. Sure, they got banned because of plagiarism at beginnings.

There are other things moderator who handle reports of plagiarism will consider before using their Ban Hammers.

If one does not know rule asks for sources, and edits initial post with sources, I think he or she will be fine. Nevertheless, if he/she repeatedly does it in 5, 10 posts/topics (without source intially, then edited when the others found sources and comment) I think he/she deserves bans because there is no excuse for plagiarism when you clearly know what you are doing and clearly know rule on plagiarism.
Quote
With or without reference link as long as he did not put any effort on posting by just copying/pasting it that should be consider as plagiarism or at least prohibited on this forum to avoid incompetent posters.
Wrong again!
Plagiarism is when you steal words or any kind of 'products' from someone else without links, sources, quotes, and ask for their permissions (like campaign OP formats).

With low- or zero-value posts repeatedly, users can get banned but sort of bans is temporary as I know.

Fixed.
You are fastly responses to fix it.

Meh, life is hard. I think lots of places bullshit their liquidity and volume.  I'd rather just create a fair arena for trading and honest vs have a flood of people we tricked into using our shit.

If our site is good... it will naturally grow IMO.
Basically, you are right. If ones is good, people will use it and it will naturally gradual grow. In contrast, huge competitions from other exchanges always play as barriers for growths of new exchanges (if less or without promotions run).
5732  Other / Meta / Re: Copy/Paste & Reference Link on: November 26, 2019, 04:20:09 PM
1. Copy and paste without source: Permanent ban
Without good net effects: permanently permanent ban (ban appeal fails)

2. Copy and paste with source, without own opinion and good points: zero-valued posts >>> trashed.
The second situation is same as spam, it looks better (not one line, one word) but the value is as same as zero.

People can argue that "Oh, that user copies, pastes from sites/ articles but he/she actually gives us very important information. It does not make sense. At least, poster has to add some warnings on what kind of news and how important it is he/she brings to the forum (for readers).
5733  Other / Meta / Re: 10th anniversary art contest badge voting on: November 26, 2019, 08:49:37 AM
Your vote will not be counted and will not have effects on vote results at the end. Anyway, you can vote as the only option to see the temporary results of the vote.

Newbie, Copper member, inactive users last one year have ineligible votes. You can see rules of the vote in OP.

But I am not in the list of Award users:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5193860.0
You are in the vote list, in contrast. It means more thing because you are in the last very top list (top 53), not too 150.

FreeBitcoins.com now offers a no KYC Xchange (exchange) market for BTC_ETH.

https://freebitcoins.com/xchange/market/BTC_DGB
You put a wrong link to DGB, not ETH.

It is a good start to build up the exchange but I think it is difficult to compete with the other older exchanges that have better volume/ liquidity than yours. If you can solve the volume/liquidity issues, people will join more.
5735  Other / Meta / Re: 2 new challenges for LoyceV on: November 25, 2019, 02:34:45 PM
DdmrDdmr already has all what you asked for. He has a tableu site for this. You can check his post history or topic history. I can not give you exactly where it is now but you have key points to go.

He has tables, lists of ranked up users from old-, new-era newbies, and more things.
5736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 💥SOLARIS XLR💥100% PoS + Masternodes💥Txbit.io exchange is live now ! on: November 25, 2019, 11:33:42 AM
I'm just waiting on the announcement for when we can link our Solaris coins to txbit so then we can start earning a share of the profits that txbit make each month. Like I have been saying here, I've been slowly accumulating Solaris ready for this as I want as much Solaris as I can get to earn more of the share and also to help keep my staking percentage up with the network.
The earnings from txbit.io is what Solaris investors look for but with the temporary low volume of the exchange, if there are earnings, they are not significant amount. Anyway, Solaris project has moved on the right track. Why right track? At least, the Solaris project is one of very rare altcoin projects - that born in 2017 or 2018 - have still survived and actively developed so far. It is too far to call Solaris as a survival thorough the full Bull-bear cycle of crypto market but I have very good feeling on what Solaris developer team have done so far.
5737  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just a little something about secure passwords. (Wallets & Online services) on: November 25, 2019, 09:25:33 AM
I agree that security options as preventive waya to retrieve password when you forget it or any other reasons, is very blind way to secure accounts or devices. Because most of available questions related to personal identities so if hackers back your one of your accounts or compromised devices, they probably know answers for secret questions too.

Using strong passwords and don't reuse them over platforms are better.
5738  Other / Meta / Re: A gift to Bitcoin and Bitcointalk forum from three school going kids on: November 25, 2019, 03:42:27 AM
When theymos merits not 1, not 2 but 50
Not all arts submitted inside the art contest or released outside the art contest (like arts in this topic) receive 50 merits from theymos.

Only ones deserve 50 merits receive such high amount of merit.
5739  Other / Meta / Re: How to earn merit in 4 EASY steps! on: November 25, 2019, 03:36:28 AM
Do you think the topic belongs to Meta board. If you still think your topic is helpful, you should move it to Beginners & Help.

Here is the fixed version, which considers how much you sent/received in each tx:
Thank you for fixing it and announcing about it in this thread and via PM. I updated OP with link to the version 0.2 of your script, too.
