5681  Other / Meta / Re: List of Bitcointalk.org Userscripts/ Add-ons on: December 10, 2019, 02:06:00 AM
Found a few more:
- Take note: I'm not vouching for the following to be safe.
Thank you for giving me those ones. As the reminder in OP, people have to take care of their security by using scripts, addons, bots listed in this thread.
Everyone have intention to use any of those userscripts/ extensions should accept risks themselves. Even those ones listed here published by well-known users, it does not guarentee that you have zero risk when using them.
5682  Other / Meta / Re: Be polite on: December 09, 2019, 11:28:51 PM
We must learn to respect one another on a forum like this. I don't think people should be insulted for making a post. Referring to someone as dumb or fool just because of a post that you do not agree with is totally out of order. Rather than criticizing a post and insulting someone, why not just ignore. If everyone is an expert then who will be a novice? Mind you, you only know what you know, you don't know it all. Be polite.
The forum is managed by admin (theymos) who is open-minded with free-speech (if there are no serious issues occur with your free speech).

Regarding to respect with each other, I have some points to note and remind you and the others (just generally, and I don' offend anyone):
- Don't post if you don't have real reasons to ask for help or don't have real 'valuable', reading-worthy to post (because posts are non-sense, low-/zero- value, off-topic are not allowed by the forum rules (unofficial). [1, 2]
- Don't playing dumb to create dumb questions or topics. If one does this, it is fair if the others call that one is dumb.
- Ignore. Don't ask the others to ignore if you don't ignore your post button first (if you don't have anything valuable to post).
- Polite. Don't ask for politeness from the others if one keeps showing shit posts around.
Since 2018, what did you contribute to prevent signature ads removed globally?

5683  Other / Meta / Re: I'm running for becoming the new Trading Discussion Moderator on: December 09, 2019, 11:16:18 PM
For me, it is ridiculous (somewhat) to see a user with member rank becomes a moderator. I don't offend lower rank users but the rank and the total received merits (that in turn affects their current ranks) are some of good things to glance at their contributions. As being mentioned above by the others, another type of contributions and maybe the most important when admin looks at your application is your report history.

Conbitrutions, reports, trusted, and good understandings on forum rules. Lack one of them or all of them, then there is no probability to become staffs.

AFAIK, the staff who began at low rank is Halab (one of the most recently hired staff, since 2018 maybe), from Full Member rank if I am correct.
5684  Other / Meta / Re: DT Members Recognition on: December 09, 2019, 02:35:10 AM
You can get them from third-party data. For example:
- Loyce club: Updated December 7: DT1-election: Rank up pipeline
- BPIP: DT1; DT2 (but I don't know how regularly those lists will be updated and the BPIP site has still been in-progress of improvements).
Additionally, theymos said he does not want to create a type of rainbow hierarchical badges in the forum: Ranks, Staff positions, Artist, Reporters, and so forth.
It's pretty easy to add a new badge and manually (or automatically) assign it to people, but with the reporter badge I didn't originally consider that people might reasonably want to opt-out of having the badge. Adding that functionality is a bit more difficult. Maybe sometime in 2020.

I also don't want the left side of threads to look like a rainbow explosion, so I probably won't add too many additional badges, either.

I think it is a really good idea, and take it all the way down to DT4+ with different colors to give more incentives to be positive for Bitcointalk..
There are complaints on over-expansions of DT2 with hundreds of DT2 members so what will we see if there will be DT4 members? Thousands of DT4 members? I knew you are kidding.  Smiley
5685  Other / Meta / Re: Alternatives to Permabans for plagarism on: December 09, 2019, 02:21:23 AM
I would agree that signature ban is better than permaban.
Signature bans are only allocated to deserved ones who have good net-effects. Not all of permanent banned users will get signature bans as alternatives.
Quote
Earning merits is not easy, so they have to prove and write better posts to recover their signature space.
If one permanent banned user received an alternative as signature ban, that one does not have to prove anything to get signature space back. When the signature ban period expires, signature space will automatically reappear.

The thing that user has to prove is good net-effects to receive a signature ban.
Quote
Permaban in most cases results in members just creating new accounts that are doing exact same plagiarism.
If one user put decent efforts for one account, and get permanently banned because of stupid things (mostly plagiarism) in the past, in early days, ie. I don't think that one will keep doing the same type of stupid things again.

I am not sure it will help to get hacked when someone knowing the clipboard history file.
I have not known about that one before I saw your post. It looks great step to help prevent compromise on clipboard but can you tell me just turn it off can help us totally safe from Clipboard attacks, please.
5687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 06, 2019, 04:32:27 PM
Inter Milan - As Roma
Inter have won all their past five games in Serie A. They have 37 points from 14 games and I expect another win for them this week. The odds for Inter Milan is 1.83. It's good however they play against As Roma.  So, I bet on Inter Milan. I also bet on over 2.5.

Roma is also in good form. They won their last 3 games and they scored 3 goals in EACH of them. Kluivert and Dzeko are on fire, Mkhitaryan is also back and ready to play. I've put BTTS on one of my parlay tickets. Good luck to you too.
Roma, despite poor performance in very early matches this season, have improved slowly, slow enough to hard to be realised. I see now Roma is a solid group of players. I am going to say: Thanks, for coming back to the top clubs, again, after last terrible year (out of the top 4) and lost their spot for Champion League.
5688  Other / Meta / Re: Change in system of positive and negative trust ? on: December 06, 2019, 04:23:04 PM
OP, you’ve made 7 posts in over 2 years. You have close to zero chance of getting accepted in to any good paying signature campaign regardless of your trust rating.
Another one is now newbie is unable to wear signature. I guess the OP don't know the merit system and related requirements, at least for the rank of Junior member. That rank is the lowest one allowed to wear signature, if users are not Copper members. But Cooper Member is not a rank, it is a membership, instead.
5689  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hot, Cold, Mobile, Web, Paper Wallets — Understand the Difference on: December 06, 2019, 01:24:06 PM
I like it but that topic is lack of categorisation on custodial and non-custodial wallets which you can find in this one
Custodial vs. Non Custodial Wallets - "Not your keys, not your coin" Explained.

Choosing and using good non-custodial wallets are must thing to do in my opinion if one seriously care about fund's security.
5690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: December 06, 2019, 12:40:12 PM
Considering the fact that the only opponent of Messi was Ronaldo then yes it was very well deserved.
I want to see new players competing for the Golden Ball. There are 11 years that only Messi and Ronaldo gets rewarded. Young talents should be rewarded as well in order to keep them motivated to continue playing with top performance.
In fact, the general performance for all season-period within the last season and the current one has decreased gradually. Cristiano Ronaldo has still be one of the best play, a super star, who can change match results with one striking moment but as I said his general performance decreased as unavoidable consequence of his ages.

Messi is younger than Ronaldo so it is fair to see his performance remains at higher level than Ronaldo's. I think soon (next one or three years), we will no longer mention about the competition between Messi and Ronaldo for Ballon Dor'
5691  Other / Meta / Re: Need user statistics. on: December 06, 2019, 09:07:24 AM
No because all of those statistics disabled in late of 2017 or sometime in 2018.
Click : Profile --- Show general statistics for this member --- User stats are disabled!.

The only statistic you can get is your reports but you will be unable to see it before your total report number reaches 3000 (that figure is likely incorrect. I remember it is 3000 or 5000). I can not see that statistic.
5692  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sendable merit give away contest (Full Member and below ranks) on: December 06, 2019, 08:41:25 AM
Rejected because your post history does not satisfy me. You applied two posts, that look fine but your post history is bad.

Honestly, the first page in your post history requires me lot of time to scroll it down to the bottom, the second is nearly the same, so I don't want to check the third one.

Improve and come back later, please. You are always welcome here.
5693  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Blender.io - Advanced privacy for Bitcoin transactions (mixer) on: December 06, 2019, 01:57:33 AM
What are the fees for blender.io compared to other mixing websites and services we can find,
and what advantages you blender is offering?
I am doing research of all mixers that are available at the market

EDIT: I see that it ranges from 0.5% to 2.5%
If you want to find out more details on bitcoin mixers/ tumblers sites, I know a very good place for you to do it: 2020 List Bitcoin Mixers Bitcoin Tumblers Websites.
The topic gives you a long list of bitcoin mixers and their service fees. As a basic stuff of services, you have to use not too small amount of bitcoin (much higher to minimum amount required by each service) to have cost-effective experience with those mixer services.
5694  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Roadway from zero to hero (with 21 topics) on: December 06, 2019, 01:49:30 AM
Good move, this is a very good example for young members and it's more appropriate for this topic to be here.
I took a little look at your posts and they are really high quality, it's obvious that you put a lot of effort into them.
I'm glad to see that the younger members are working so hard and helping others with their constructive posts.
Congratulation hd49728  and wish you to become legendary soon!
Lots of users (from both old- and new-era generations as what DdmrDdmr categorised newbie users) complain that why their 'good, constructive, helpful' posts don't receive any merit. They forget that as human instinct, people tend to think what they do is good or best but it is not what the others think about their products (in the forum, posts).

It is my great honor to read what you thought about my post quality. Your compliment above gives me more motivation to keep moving onwards, with good posts, certainly.
5695  Other / Meta / Re: Trust feedback should be written in English. A must for DTs. on: December 05, 2019, 05:23:23 AM
If the Feedback is given to a other User in the local Board it should be written in the local Board language, because there a few users they dont understand english!
If Feedback is given in english Boards it should be in english written .
Personally, English is a must. Local boards help locals but English is a must to join the forum, IMO. In addition, a negative feedback helps the others (not locals) have an overview on one account that received feedback. So if feedback is not written in English, it is a challenging for them to understand. Using Google translator is not a solution.
5696  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How merit is acquired on: December 05, 2019, 04:05:26 AM
I don't give you link because it is better for you if now you begin to learn how to use the Search tab of the forum (the left one besides the Profile tab).
Key words:
- Merit system and rank requirements theymos
- Writing a welcome message theymos
You can also do it with any search engine (google, bing, duckduckgo). After getting those topics and after reading, you will know how to earn merits.
Length does not equal to quality (read in Writing a welcome message).
You can believe your posts are good (in quality) but in reality, the others don't think so.
5697  Other / Meta / Re: Ban evasion by DT1 member - please permaban account - case 2 on: December 05, 2019, 03:39:47 AM
How can it ban evading when otto_diesel's message predates that of the banned user Huh

Also the posting of an identical wallet alone, by itself, is definitely not a robust way of ascertaining whether 2 accounts are the same person,

if that were the case, someone could make an account right now, post one of your wallets and try to get you banned; you and all the intelligent members of this forum would agree, this is not a smart way to jump to conclusions about anything...
The chronological order make sense and contributes to conclusions of moderators or admins who handle reports.

Now, I can make some accounts and post that Wave address, then using some of my new accounts (just to attack otto_diesel, example) plagiarise in order to get consequent permanent bans. Fortunately, otto_diesel will not be banned only because of that.

Example with theymos' reply: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5184328.msg52655319#msg52655319
5698  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Virtual wallet: what is it? on: December 05, 2019, 02:14:00 AM
The bitcoin.org site and list of wallets/ explorers is a good place to begin.

The topic: Custodial vs. Non Custodial Wallets - "Not your keys, not your coin" Explained. is another good one.

With online wallets (one of custodial wallets), people don't have control of private keys. With Bitcoin Core, Electrum, ie. (non-custodial wallets) people have full control of their private keys.

Don't have private keys, you don't actually have wallets.
5699  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★★★ Bitcoin Video Casino ★★★ - ||| Over 500 BTC in Progressive Jackpots! ||| on: December 05, 2019, 02:06:43 AM
Telegram works amazingly when you need to reach someone very quickly, that part is not a lie. However even if you lets say didn't contact anyone from telegram, bitcoin video casino has always been true to their word, I don't remember any issues they ever had with any customer at all.

I am sure there must have been some abusers in the past who tried to trick and scam bitcoin video casino and they didn't allow it and that resulted with the scammer to act all innocent and of course tried to frame bitcoin video casino as the scammer when they are the real ones, it happens to everyone around the crypto casino world. We can't thank god enough that we have few places that are true to their word and never scam the customers, its really a shame we have to be this worried because there have been bad ones as well.
I don't call Bitcoin Video Casino is a scammer or scams in their Telegram group. Maybe you did misunderstood my post.

I say the team have to manage their group very careful because lots of scammers use Telegram as their favorite tool to scam blindly and naively people.

As always teams can not completely and solely protect their users by any sort of announcements, pinned messages or any tools. They only can help and give additional tools (announcements, pinned messages, and the others) to reduce the intensity of scammers in their groups.
5700  Other / Meta / Re: Trust feedback should be written in English. A must for DTs. on: December 04, 2019, 11:03:40 PM
I agreed with bitmover but I can not disagree with iasenko. The problem raises by iasenko is a must thing (somewhat) because scammers can do their scams in local boards or in English-boards. They mostly active in locals but there is no guarentee that they won't scam in English-boards after discovered in locals and tagged by DT in local languages.

Nevertheless, I don't agree that there should be a duplicated of trust feedback on one scammer for only one scam detection. I meant if a DT members have to leave two feedbacks, one in local, one in English; it will automatically increase the level of scam severity if someone quickly look at feedback page.

If there is something like that, I think a ref link (from feedback in local to English) will be helpful, to save space and avoid duplicate.
Quote
This user scammed in xxx local  board. blah blah blah. See the English version of the feeback, here

I have an opposite idea too. That is a local should know English (at basic level to understand it) but it is difficult to ask one should learn and know Spanish, Russian, Japanese, etc. at basic level. Therefore, if there is no option for two versions of one feedback, only English-written feedback is better.
