All clones should not be trusted, whatsoever they clone from, Ethereum, Bitcoin, Monero, etc. If they are clone coins, they are untrusted. Untrusted for their future success, and there are probability that they also try to steal money from disclosing private keys

What I do is I bookmark the important sites that involves transactions like myetherwallet and some crypto exchanges. Some accounts that have 2fa will be difficult to hack even if you clicked a phishing sites. Popular browser like google chrome and mozilla firefox automatically detects malicious websites so it's best to use for everyone.
It is good to use bookmark, but bookmark does not completely help you to be safe from threats. Eg.tampering attacks on bookmark. Remember site address is the best.

I use avg antivirus so I dont have these types of problems
Viruses born to defeat antivirus softwares, so basically you are unsafe even you use whatever antivirus softwares for your computers. It is especially right if you have careless habits on Internet. You are safe today, you have been safe till now, but it does not guarentee that you will be forever safely.

But positive feedback will get affected though right? Because it is not possible to trust give positive feedback without knowing that person in deep.
I too agree that some sort of moderation needed when a person in DT network not anymore but theymos already mentioned he is not going to trust anyone.
Therefore, I think manually replace negative feedbacks to neutral ones are good solution for those rare cases. Remove original feedbacks sounds shady, somehow. A user who had scam accusations / neg tags in the past might potentially do this again; so neutral feedback as slight warning is enough, I think. They don't deserve neg tags if their cases solved, but a pure profile page sounds unfair, somehow. Negative feedbacks that already solved and confirmed by 'victims' or someone who tagged negatively, or well massively confirmed by community

This people are making the industry to look more scam to newbies and that is why we still have a very low adoption as almost every newbies are getting scammed which made many thought bitcoin and the rest are all scam. I think ETH need to put in place some features to stop any token that is trying to use others smart contract to scam people .
Not only newbies get scammed by them, but also old users get scammed too. Especially people who joined forum long time ago, but have not yet spent too much time to read and learn about crypto in the forum. The forum has loads of legends whom are readily to help if someone ask for help, technically. But if someone join the forum, just to post shits, and join bounties, over years, they won't be able to get any kind of knowledge and skills in return. Then, someday they will fall in greedy mood, and get scammed.

I digged and made this thread, which summarises process from which theymos asked for ideas from communites, came to original solutions (merit system & new rank requirements); to more restrictive improvements (old-era Junior Members demotion); and reminders on post-quality and potential conflict of interests between the forum, good users, and spammers. Since 2018, what did you contribute to prevent signature ads removed globally?Still not find the part mentioned about forum traffic.

This thread plays as a reminder for all forum members, especially shit posters, whom have kept continuously to post their shitpost daily. This thread is for old-era members, and for new-era members whom joined here after merit system kicked-off. What are everyone's ideas for improving post quality?
I have mostly ruled out:
- Removing signatures or sig ads globally. - Requiring payment to wear sig ads. - Banning account sales.
Nearly a month later, merit system released Merit & new rank requirementsI'm hoping that this system will increase post quality by: - Forcing people to post high-quality stuff in order to rank up. If you just post garbage, you will never get even 1 merit point, and you will therefore never be able to put links in your signature, etc.
Around 2 weeks later, theymos wrote It's too early to get a clear picture, but my thoughts so far: First, most people complaining about merit are constantly posting garbage, and should not rank-up. The forum is not a welfare system; you don't run through a few hoops and then get paid for doing something that nobody actually wants. I like that good forum members can make money, especially when said forum members are in poorer countries and this is a major opportunity for them. I very much do not want to destroy the sig-ad/airdrop/bounty "industry". But I am not going to tolerate people posting garbage upon garbage. If the merit system completely fails and I can't think of anything else to replace it, then my next step will probably be to completely remove all ways for forum users to make money from posting (eg. removing signatures entirely).Maybe there are ways for people who were making money by posting garbage on the forum to make money on other sites with easy bounties, etc. (For example, I don't know if they're actually any good, but https://bountyhive.io is currently advertising on the forum.) But people should use the forum to talk about these money-making ideas, not as a way of making money itself. Once you spend a lot of time here, you may be able to make some money here (which is great!), but you should consider this a far-off hope, not your primary objective. BTW, if anyone has any ideas for simple things that these ex-nonsense-posters could usefully do to make money, I think that this'd be a good project right now. There are apparently quite a few people who were making money on the forum and could use guidance. Even though their past activities were not good for this forum, I doubt that they are useless in general. Above is reminded section on theymos' standpoints on post quality, forum situation, plans and expectation to clean up the forum by merit system. The system born as main tool to fight against spammers; keep them unable to rank up, and reduce spam posts. Did it help as expected? Not. Merit system failed at somewhat extents, spammers stucked on low ranks, but they kept spamming, globally. That is why around 8 months later, in September last year, theymos moved further by derank Junior Members whom did not earn 1 merit (at least) by that day. Due to excessive garbage-posting, you now need 1 merit to be a Jr Member. All existing Jr Members who didn't meet the requirement were demoted. Also, newbies can no longer set any signature or personal text.
One reason that I was hesitant to do this before is that there are an awful lot of newbie restrictions, and I don't want the forum to be unwelcoming to good newbies.
After that, it seems merit system and that demotion on old-era Junior Members have significant impacts on spamming here. Newbies stopped spamming because they can not rank up to Junior Members. It is truly right with farm accounts, but there are 'companies' that run bumping services still use their Newbie accounts to spam globally. In Welcome message (draft), admin wrote A lot of people come here primarily looking to make money. The forum administration is very happy that people are able to use the forum in order to better themselves; indeed, one of the reasons for Bitcoin's creation was to break the artificial barriers which prevent so many people around the world from attaining prosperity. However, if your attempts to make money conflict with the forum's primary goal of enabling discussion, then you are swimming upstream, and you will not be sucessful in the end.
If you view the forum as some sort of "job" where you complete some basic tasks and get paid, then you will almost certainly be disappointed, and the forum administration will not be sympathetic. If you do make money using the forum, then it will be through innovation and entrepreneurship, not any sort of mindless busywork.
QuestionMy question stated in thread title: Since 2018, what did you contribute to prevent signature ads removed globally? SolutionsPlease stop or reduce considerably your spam posts. Admin actually want to keep signature and signature industry, for good users, to have extra income. You should support admin's standpoints on post-quality and help the forum as less shitposts as possible. Be good, be constructive, help the forum, and help yourself!

Hey everyone, I have some good news!
1. We have, once again, halved our withdrawal fees!
The three different withdrawal fees on MintDice are great because it helps MintDicers have rights to choose whichever fees they want to pay with their withdrawals that correspond to their acceptable waiting time. If someone don't feel hurry with their withdrawals, they can choose Economy type. However, I have a question, that those three fee types will be fixed, or will be automatically updated correspond to bitcoin network transaction fees, or fees will be manually changed by MintDice team?

There has been a great debate going on since years whether the forum should be Signature free or not. You can give endless arguments in favor or against it but if you ask me, i will like to have signatures on the forum. Not because that posters get some money for posting, but for the companies who knows that this is the biggest platform and their willingness to promote their business through this platform.
Signature itself does not do anything wrong or annoying. Only people who abuse the forum by wearing signature and spam around, with very low-quality, low-content posts are issues, not signature. Turn off all signature might have negative effects on forum traffic, and this is one of main reasons why signature will be here. There is nothing wrong or annoying if someone makes high quality, contentful posts with signature behind their post.

How deep you think we can go from here. Correction is always healthy. Never seeing below $14k will be awesome to see however nothing is certain in Bitcoin.
Around $8000, then boom, we will never see bitcoin stay below $14000.
|
|
|
I don’t want to see sub $9,000. I know you can always use every situation as a positive & you can buy cheap coins but $8,xxx seems too close to slipping back into the bear market.
Do you think it is looking bad? According to this vWAP we should move up in any moment. It is not too bad because who bought at dip can enjoy the bounce back and significant profits. However, I don't think bitcoin has already finished its correction. In my forecast, bitcoin will have to witness the last round of dip to finish its correction. When it finishes, it will rocket up, and we will never see bitcoin in the range below $14000.

I feel more interesting with the horizontal line at $8000. When people panicly sell at the range of $8000, we might see the next dump to $7.5k, and that time we might see last chance to buy cheap bitcoin, this year. If it happens, next 10 weeks, someone still miss it, will have never have other chances to buy cheap bitcoin. When really big bull run starts, bitcoin will fastly break $20,000. Nevertheless, I don't think that bull run will happen sooner that middle of December this year. For now, enjoy the bounce, just be careful.

Amazing. I did not know a site from which I can get this indicator, for free. Trading View does not provide it for free. Much appreciated the site you shared.

Here is another interesting observation: The moment Mayer Multiple reached just above 2.4, it started to go down. Amazing. So, $14k was in a mini bubble territory and the bears didn't miss that one. Sniped it right away. $7.5k looks like a good buy. edit: Also see the previous 2.4 rejections in 2017. Happened twice before the big boom. That's even more interesting. Any update on Mayer Multiple indicator, for today? Has it fallen closely to 1.2?

We return to 4 digits, what is the problem? crisis, recession, political tensions, it doesn't matter
BTC is here to stay, if for you 4 digits is cheap, buy.
IMO, recession help smart guys become richer. Why not take advantage from recession (if it will do occur)? You don't have to spend any resources to make recession (actually, others did), just take advantages from it, and get rich.

Sorry to interrupt, but can someone please let me know if I should be panicking at this point, because, TBH, I'm seriously, SERIOUSLY thinking of just tuning out anything Bitcoin related until after the halvening and just focus on IRL stuff for a while.
Think I'm finally finding a good IRL routine that is keeping me somewhat entertained and productive. Starting to really get the hang of this retirement thing.
Watching Bitcoin tank like it is, just makes me sad. I don't need it until 2021-ish anyway...
Bah. Someone hold me. No homo.
It's time for us, to pratice how to hodl our bitcoin.

Everyone waiting 8k levels again. Previous btc dump, almost everyone waited for 8500 or 7200 levels to buy but it bounced before, at 9k. So the majority didn't fill their bags. At 3500 usd everyone waited 3k or lower, but it bounced before that at 3100/3200. Some are still waiting for 3k and 1.400 usd.
When it happens, bitcoin will move up together with Gold. I believe Bitcoin will do its rises more seriously than Gold. And, the coming halving next year will support Bitcoin with its huge motivational fuel for the flight of Bitcoin. Bitcoin and Gold will rise together when recession occurs; but Bitcoin willl overperform Gold. Coin Metrics

I believe when you search for something on google, it will give you different result of what you've searched for and it abit highlight of the result found. You read carefully and, click on the one that's explain it better
In crypto, the first place you should visit and use when you want to search on crypto projects is coinmarketcap.com. Visit that site, type project name in search box, and see what you get. If you can find project on coinmarketcap.com through its search box; it is somehow give you links to those projects' channels (Websites, Github, Available exchanges, Explorers, etc. - official ones, not phising ones). Projects already listed on coinmarketcap.com do not equal to good projects, but at least you will not get phised by phising sites. For important sites, you have to remember their site addresses, and bookmark can be used and helpful. However, bookmark has its own risks of being tampered. Avoid starting to search using Google if you can find those projects from coinmarketcap.com

I hadn't given any thought to how the forum looked on my cell phone Vs my PC. I wouldn't even know how to install fonts onto the phone, I guess that's why the creators of this forum chose the font they did.
(Personally I always preferred Times New Roman over Ariel, but find Courier New to be better for displaying numerals in work documents as it keeps the values in readable columns).
Don't fall into font modifications is the best, in my opinion. The default font (on computers or mobile - phones, tablets) is san-serif, so it works well originally. There is no need to modify it and makes it harder, uncomfortable for readers.

I knew it does not relate to Bitcoin, as always, because CW is an assh*let. But it is fact that we had dumps, partially from that. Damn it. https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitmessage-developer-craig-wright-faked-documents-on-bitcoin-creationPer a court document released on Aug. 13, Warren testified in the course of an ongoing lawsuit against Wright filed by the estate of David Kleiman, who was a cyber-security expert, whom many believe to have been one of the first developers behind Bitcoin (BTC) and blockchain technology.
