5562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 28, 2020, 01:14:43 AM
Yeah right, It would seemed that Arsenal young lads provides better results that the old ones  Smiley

Arsenal does have a better chances/route as they are to play Portsmouth next, and If they win they will face Norwich or Tottenham/Southampton, except their inconsistency gets the better of them, they won't face the toughest teams until the Semi finals.
Arsenal usually get wins when no one expects on them but when the expectation on them is high, they often make their fans dissapointed. Arsenal, over the recent years, have never mainitained their performance in official matches sustainably. They win and lose in between their matches. They've often fallen further behind the other competitors in race to Premier League's trophy past seasons.

The last 2 seasons, they struggled to get a spot in top 4 of the league.
5563  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie, BTT Rating. on: January 28, 2020, 01:06:51 AM
The old ranking system requires activities to rank up for each rank, and what you had to do is making enough posts (that consequently results in enough activities to rank up), but with the merit system, merits are become the more important thing and the main barriers to pass through before ranking up.
Now, you must pass through both activities (that is easy) and merit requirements.

Activities and post-numbers required are there:
The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Rough summary of what this means: If you post once per day on average, then you will eventually get the maximum number of activity points that you can get. Posting more than once per day on average is useless for increasing activity. The maximum number of activity points you can get is 1 per day, but your activity score only updates every two weeks. Therefore, it will take about 100 days to get 100 activity if you post once per day on average.

Activity is updated every hour.

The new membergroup limits work like this: (Edit: Obsolete, do not use)
GroupRequirement
Brand New0 posts
Newbie(none)
Jr. Memberactivity: 30
Memberactivity: 60
Full Memberactivity: 120
Sr. Memberactivity: 240
Hero Memberactivity: 480
Legendaryoccurs randomly between 775 and 1030 activity

I'm not 100% sure that the membergroups work correctly. Tell me if you see any bugs.
The merit requirements posted above by the others.
5564  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Posting on BitcoinTalk: how do I know when my post is "too long"? on: January 27, 2020, 10:37:17 AM
The issue does not mainly come from English proficiency. If a poster has bad posting style, that user will make too long, and distracting posts with mother tongue too.

Posts are made up of some root things: Main ideas (most important), then supporting ideas (less important, and only to support main ideas to clarify its with explanations, details, examples, figures, and so forth).

To start off, if a poster does not have a good idea to begin with, his or her post will always nonsense, and less or zero value.

Let's assume that a poster has good idea to start, his or her post will be lengthy enough if that user does not include distractions to his posts. Whenever distractions occur, posts will become too lengthy.
5565  Other / Meta / Re: Another merit metric that could be considered in ranking. on: January 27, 2020, 10:00:23 AM
It reminds us to rethink of how users became merit sources.

- Automatically allocated by the admin since 24 Jan 2018.
- Merit sources who applied for all boards, and they did not emphasize which boards they will focus to distributed sourced-merits.
- Merit sources who applied for limited boards, who will try to keep promises and distribute their sourced-merits on boards they promised to focus on when applied.

Merit-deserving posts are always deserving ones (they are good posts), whatsoever boards they posted on. It is only difference between merit-sources and how they do their works.

It is unrealistic to require all sources to decentralize their sourced-merits over all boards on the forum.
5566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: January 27, 2020, 09:42:50 AM
Seems interest in  Dash is gradually moving into third world countries. Why is that?
People did not realize that the growth and expansions of DASH on third-world nations started in 2018 and 2019, not this year (2020). This year, on very early days, what we witnessed is only fruits from many work efforts from DASH team to develop and upgrade the project, its protocol and the contributions from many communities to expand DASH communities bigger and stronger over the past 2 years.
5567  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Poll - How did you find out about Bitcointalk? on: January 24, 2020, 01:02:52 PM
How I am here?

I knew about bitcoin first, then the second one is Ethereum. I search (by Google, thanks for it) with Ethereum and Vitalik Buterin, and results of the search led me here, bitcointalk.org. I did not have any aims when I participated in the forum. At my first glance in the forum, and my first impression, the forum is very boring, texts, texts and texts, mostly texts. And the forum was abundant with thanks, hi, hello, one line posts some months since the day I participated in the forum. After some months, I realized that it was only short term shitshows as a consequence of altcoin booms in 2017.

Now, I am being here as a Senior member, with all of my 421 merits are earned by myself.

Thanks for the forum, the community, available topics, answers to my questions, and all admins, moderators, patrollers, you all helped me to get a lot of knowledge in crypto as well as security and privacy, that I believe I hardly get on any other forums.
5568  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The harmful side of quick merit earn method. on: January 23, 2020, 05:31:01 PM
If a poster does  not buy merits that help him to get merits quickly, merits naturally come very randomly.

Randomly because it depends on how many users read that post and how many of them have smerits left in their accounts. Sometimes I personally like one post because it is helpful but I don't have any smerit left, 0 or only 0.5. Honestly to say, if I don't merit one post immediately when I read and like it, I mostly forget about that post and rarely to come back to give merit to it.

Hence, merits might come to poster fastly at big amount or come very sparsely with very small amount.
5569  Other / Meta / Re: I sincerely apologize to everyone on: January 23, 2020, 07:48:43 AM
About mistakes. There are some kinds of mistakes: forgivable and unforgivable (at least we feel unforgivable).

- Forgivable: that is what the forum treats rule-broken users with temp bans. They have second, and third chances for forgivable and minor mistakes.
- Unforgivable: that is what the forum treats seriously rule-broken users with permanently bans. They mostly don't have chance to come back with that permanent banned accounts. Exceptions are only for very positively net-effect users and they are very very rarely to see.

Fortunately, the admin allows users to create accounts. The permanent banned accounts are banned as person, not as user, it means when one account get permanent banned, the others of the same person will be temp-banned too (if detected with evidence). Fortunately, I see admin has not yet permanently banned IP addresses so permanent banned user can create their others on same IPs (the list of unofficial rules don't show such very strictly bans). I think it is unofficial forgiveness (I could be wrong).

- Forgiveness: Often people make fairly small mistakes, but then they seemingly get red-trusted for life. This isn't really fair, and it discourages participation due to paranoia: if you think that you have a 1% chance of running afoul of some unwritten rule and getting red-trusted for life, you might just avoid the marketplace altogether. Red trust should mostly be based on an evaluation of what the person is likely to do in the future moreso than a punishment/mark-of-shame.
5570  Other / Meta / Re: Is account sale legal? on: January 22, 2020, 04:37:15 PM
Account sales have been a very crucial aspect of this forum in the past couple of years.
Since the days merit system began to run and when the bot to find out plagiarism was born in 2019, bought-accounts are almost useless. Good campaigns now don't accept bought accounts. It is not too hard to see differences between good accounts and bad ones, and bought accounts mostly show as bad because when newbies buy one account, they nearly don't know how to post, in particular good posts.

In addition to the above, there are risks of account permanent bans because of plagiarism in the past from previous owners. From own my understandings, I don't spend my money to buy accounts.

I know it is hard to grow a good account nowadays but buying one, nope (forget it is the best).
5571  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Poll - How did you find out about Bitcointalk? on: January 22, 2020, 04:21:41 PM
I knew about the forum in 2017 when the guy I know on Facebook made his status about airdrops for old accounts. He is very famous in my local, so I created my account because of my curiosity (I knew he stated old accounts). One those days, I did not know too much about bitcoin, and crypto currency so that forum is helpful for me (I only felt it is helpful months later).

That is where I came from and joined the forum. I know you guys mostly don't want to see such boring stories but it is mine.

I think you can lock your thread and say thanks here in Cryptios. The Cryptios team are very helpful and maybe they supported your account recovery request.

5575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 22, 2020, 02:47:25 AM
Actually I am also a little disappointed with the Chelsea game that could not maintain its victory, I think Chelsea need a strong defense so it does not happen like this again even I often see Chelsea weak at the end of the match.
Especially next week Chelsea will face Leicester, of course it will be increasingly difficult for Chelsea to add points.
As Mr. Frankie, the coach of Chelsea, said in the conference after the match, he was very dissapointed with the late concede and lost important points. I don't know the lost points in that match will affect the position of Chelsea (to be qualified for a spot in Champions League next season) or not but yeah I am dissapointed with the result too.
5576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 21, 2020, 07:52:53 AM
I think it is not easy for Arsenal to beat Chelsea at home Aubameyang has scored 14 goals in all EPL matches without Aubameyang Arsenal like a cannon without bullets
Instead Chelsea will take advantage of this opportunity to get replacement points after yesterday's loss.
It is the big match and everything can happen but the balance to win falls into the Chelsea side, in my opinion. Chelsea has many advantages to win, Lampard is better and has more experience as coach than M. Arteta; and Chelsea has already built up their stable tactics this season while Arsenal has not yet identified their playing tactics. At best, Arsenal's fan can hope for their players' proudness for the big club and play more than 100% of their strength to beat Chelsea.

My predict is Chelsea will win the match.
5577  Other / Meta / Re: When will BCT change? on: January 21, 2020, 02:57:05 AM
The forum is welcome to everyone, from any geographical locations as well as any ethics and any ranks, but joining it or leaving it and beginning your life with the other forums is your own choice.

The forum can not and will never satisfy all of people's requests. It is the forum created for bitcoin, bitcoin discussion, and then after many years of operations, it has expanded to altcoins but bitcoin is vital part of the forum.

The forum is not designed as a personalized-one, for diversifying and complicated personal favorites and interests.
5578  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: From being a shitposter before now almost there![Hero Rank] on: January 20, 2020, 03:13:39 PM
TMAN is a legendary meriter for good posters. Good posters don't complain on what TMAN does but shit posters do, and that reality is not too difficult to understand. I congratulate the OP for his newest rank, Hero Member.
5579  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: January 20, 2020, 06:07:32 AM
Well, today we saw something similar to old good Barca. Over 80% ball posession, over 1000 passes made eith good accuracy. Though, final result doesn't looks amazing, considering that opponent parked a bus and played one man down for 20 minutes. I think it's mainly because of missing Suarez and it can be serious problem against stronger opponents. Good thing about this match - finally we didn't conceded goal, it's rare thing this season.
On the one hand, Barcelona has gradually become more and more Messi-dependencia, that is surely not good for them. On the other hand, Messi has become older and older each season that consequently negatively affected his performance on the pitch. I doubt that Barcelona will maintain their positions in top 2 or 3 of La Liga next few seasons.
5580  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: From being a shitposter before now almost there![Hero Rank] on: January 19, 2020, 08:09:03 AM
I can see glimpse of becoming Hero rank soon.
Not too soon as you thought. You will need at least around 4 more months to have enough activities for Hero member rank. I believe you will soon get enough merit for that rank but regarding to actitivities, you have to wait much longer.

One thing to contribute to OP, the image is too large. Hence, you can use width or height option to adjust it smaller.

Congratulations, OP.
