Is that realy you? are you ehh male or female?

Which would you prefer? You into T-girls?  Grin And we're not sure whether it is actually her, or just some douche getting her to post pics for drug money etc. Maybe it's both? Why don't you send him/her some money and get your jollies off?  Cheesy
16802  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: suggest on: January 19, 2014, 12:06:11 PM
Who counts your posts for when renting your signature space? How do they trust that you had their signature all the time? How do they know that you haven't spammed in any of the posts?

Why, are you going to try spam and game the system?
No, just trying to figure out how it works from advertiser's standpoint.

Ok.To answer you questions then: If the mods spot you spamming they will straight-up ban you. People also report spammers to the mods and/or to the sig payment providers. They usually don't pay people who are found to be posting spam or crap, so it's not even worth attempting to do it. When you sign up for the deals you have to post your starting post count and you can't edit your post. At the end of the month you PM them with the amount of posts you made.
16803  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can't reply to threads? on: January 19, 2014, 12:02:54 PM
I finally got here to see what I need to to in order to reply to threads...Spent some time looking for the Reply button ://
Thing is, maybe after the account is verified...you could send the new user an e-mail, PM, somthing to direct him to the general rules, that way ppl get less frustrated about why they cannot find the reply button..

It tells you when you sign up and again in the newbie readme. People don't read, so I doubt they'd read the email either.
16804  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How ridiculous is the newbie restriction?! on: January 19, 2014, 11:58:43 AM
The newbie restriction is here for a good reason.

I agree. I know it's annoying at first, but the time limits and restrictions are quickly lifted. These people would be moaning a hell of a lot more if the forum was overrun with spambots and crap and the forums being down all the time from ddos attacks etc.
16805  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why can't I change my avatar? on: January 19, 2014, 11:54:26 AM
You can't either-check. I love Bubbles and Trailer Park Boys but its time for a change...

you cant even add one yet if you didnt do so before the hack sitch... brb let me check again

I got an idea! Why doesn't theymos put up a tip jar to garner some bitcoins so that he can upgrade the forum, thus allowing users to upload avatars?

Is there an award for the best suggestion of the year?

~TMIBTCITW

I don't think any amount of tips/donations would get theymos to sort this out any quicker haha.

He could pay someone else to do it. So many forums out there have been hacked in the past, but full functionalities are usually restored in a matter of days Smiley

New forum software is apparently coming 'soon' so it probably wouldn't be worth it.

"soon" can be a second, minute, hour, day, week, month, year?

Hence why I said 'apparently' and 'soon'.
16806  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coinye - Press/PR idea on: January 19, 2014, 11:50:55 AM
If Ebay resolves the issues with Paypal, then surely EBay could be a exchange in its own right? and as williecity mentioned I have noticed alot of Coinye being traded. Good news for alt coins I think.

They still wont be allowed to list Coinye due to legal threats from Kanye.
I know what your saying but http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.Xcoinye&_nkw=coinye&_sacat=0&_from=R40

And there's a good chance they'll get removed citing brand infringement or some other bullshit.
16807  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling Bitcoin on EBay on: January 19, 2014, 11:32:14 AM
A lot of ebay sellers list btc/altcoins like this

Buy a pen get x amount of btc/altcoin free

That way when they send the pen in the mail with tracking paypal can not reverse the payment. Or at least that is the assumption.

What happens when they say there was no pen in the signed for package, but just a twig?
16808  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie restriction on: January 19, 2014, 11:24:09 AM
I want a custom title that says shibe rather than newbie.

Then you'll need to donate 50BTC I think.
16809  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alt-Coins on: January 19, 2014, 11:22:45 AM
Do you think Digibyte is different of another crypto-currency ?

People are saying it has a great team behind it and they had a huge giveaway. However they are not presenting arguments to why Digi is better/best. They are just saying.. Don't point out flaws or give critique in the thread if you don't want to be flamed, the level of maturity is low with the occasional exception Wink The coin itself has potential.

Everybody says that their coin has a great team/devs/community behind it, and most of them have nothing of the sort.
16810  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How ridiculous is the newbie restriction?! on: January 19, 2014, 11:18:57 AM
how do we get out of this newbie jail

I'm only here because fast-pool does their support through this website. I'm currently locked out and the only way to remedy this situation is via PM or message in a different thread which I can't access. It isn't like I haven't used a forum before and perhaps general moderation would be a better way to go.

I'm only saying all of this because apparently my first post must be "substantial" and I have no idea of the requirement for the substance contained therein.

Regardless, I suppose I'll cross my fingers that 4 hours from now, I'll be able to begin the process of getting my fast-pool account unlocked.

I´m at this same problem. I´ve to unlock my acc and i can´t do it.
I don´t no what i need to do.

Read the newbie stickie in this forum.
16811  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Loans on: January 19, 2014, 11:15:42 AM
Hi,

I'm looking for a small loan of Bitcoins. Can anyone recommend a reputable service?

Thanks,

Check out the loan section in the marketplace. Lots of people offering loans but most require some sort of collateral.
16812  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coinye makes eBay Takes Its First Steps Toward Virtual Currency on: January 19, 2014, 11:13:43 AM
Is it a coincidence that eBay is now launching virtual currency after the success of coinye http://mashable.com/2014/01/17/ebay-virtual-currency-uk/?utm_cid=mash-com-fb-main-link

Coinye coin is the next most popular coin(if not more popular) after Bitcoin.

It is the most traded coin on ebay and now ebay as officially stated that they will open a virtual currency trading section on ebay. This is just one week after the launch of Coinye and after thousands of Coinye trading.

The number 1 crypto-currency on eBay is Coinye.

It is not yet listed on most exchanges but sells 10 times more than every other.

Since its launch there as been some new tweets every minute about coinye and it as featured on thousands of sites including BBC,WSJ and even MTV

It is many peoples first e-currency

if you are keeping all those millions and Billions off COYE pls give me some

5ihuVBbrQNS5SkcG1wxEkz6wgHv1pJrFLC

It is just a coincidence, yes. Coinye coins are not even allowed to be on ebay because of legal threats from Kanye and they get removed pretty swiftly.
16813  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: do you think anyone would be interested in trading BTC for things? on: January 19, 2014, 11:08:41 AM
Many people, like myself, use BTC to buy things almost daily. So really why not Smiley

What things do you buy? Nice things? Precious things? Silly things? All kind of things?

16815  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Venture Capitalist Chris Dixon Believes Bitcoin Will Hit $100,000 on: January 19, 2014, 11:06:45 AM
I guess the reason we draw value in a USD comparison at the moment is because there's not an alternative. In the UK, we can determine how well our currency is dong by product cost.

When 'us Brits' go abroad, you are likely to hear someone talk about the price of a pint; "It's only 40p a pint!". We naturally measure our currencies strength by what it can afford. The places we can buy products with bitcoin online determine the cost by comparing it to USD or otherwise, meaning that's all wwe have to go on at this point, publicly anyway.

Overstock's success on the first day of accepting Bitcoin was again measured in dollar worth.

Me, I'm drawing my value from cock pushups. 1 BTC = 1.3 cock pushups at the moment but it's on the up Tongue

One is all you need. Just like Bitcoin. Anyone who doesn't have 1 Bitcoin is a cryptopleb.

I see what you did there.

16817  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coinye - Press/PR idea on: January 19, 2014, 11:01:26 AM
My personal opinion is that Coinye is the next big thing.

I'd be willing to bet you're wrong on that. Even if this coin and it's devs weren’t sued, it still wouldn’t've lasted long as these coins never do. They enjoy a brief flurry of activity riding on the back of some media attention, then die out. You pump 'em and dump 'em then move on to the next coin.
16818  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: List of future Altcoins to be launched in 2014 on: January 19, 2014, 10:58:29 AM
Hey, I'm new to this site and also to cryptocurrency.

I just wondered if there is a list of planned Altcoins launching in the next months.
Many of the other coins have been around for long and difficulty is high

So basically I'm looking for an Alt-Altcoin with low difficulty, as my hardware isn't best anymore (if it ever has been).

I know there is a list of all currently existing Altcoins here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=134179.0

But is there list of future Altcoins?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks in advance ;-)

Just keep an eye on the announcements [ANN] in the alternative currency section of this site. Coins are usually pre-announced on there first and they probably come out daily.

Which begs the question - how did other escrow "agents" get started in the biz. Sounds like a complete catch 22. Did they just do some private deals and get a positive trust rating first? Then move into the escrow biz?

How does anyone gain trust? You do it other ways by doing other deals. If people see you have sold items on here and/or are a long-standing active member of the community, you'll be more 'trustworthy' than a guy who's been around for a week and done nothing other than ask to hold onto peoples' money for them.

If you wanted to gain trust another way and prove you're legit you could offer to scan in personal documents, ID, proof of address etc to give people a little bit more trust in you. I think this would give people a bit of piece of mind, but I'd just go for the building up trust over time route. It's not easy to do so, but that's how it should be.
