Shameless double post

I'm about to add ads in BT++
https://i.imgur.com/KlXYOS4.png

Why?
If the server problems continue I will use the server tysat lent me, but I think I'll have to buy a real server in the following months anyway (people not wanting someone from the staff having access to the data, having the full control of the server at any time, not abusing tysat's kindness)

As nearly everything, they will be only displayed if you want to (and disabled by default)
I'm testing with bitads.net. Any thoughts? Did someone try a-ads?
1462  Economy / Services / Re: Website Preview: BITADS.NET. Now Pay-Per-Day! on: November 02, 2013, 01:29:43 PM
I asked a bit ago if plugins were ok but I can't find an answer
If so could you manually validate my adspaces? (account: jjackjackjj at gmail)
If not will you ever accept them?
1463  Other / Meta / Re: Get Donator status by donating 10 BTC on: November 02, 2013, 12:28:28 PM
Is it still 10 btc to get a tag?  maybe time to drop that to .1?
Yes. No.
It has already been discussed 9000+ times.
1464  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk++ script - v0.2.24 on: November 02, 2013, 11:35:49 AM
I don't know what is happening...
The server returns the notes (+1/-1) and I can even vote, but other features don't work, I can't SSH into the server and I can't login to the admin interface
I'll wait until monday, if it still doesn't work I'll change the hosting (the backup of the data is a few days old and the backup of the BT++ engine is 5 minutes prior to the crash so you won't notice anything once I set up everything again)

Oh, idea: have a tab at the side of the page which pops open an iframe linking to whiskchat.com Wink so we can chat and read the forums at the same time!
I wasn't sure but now I'm sure I won't do this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=322185.0
1465  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk++ script - v0.2.23 on: November 02, 2013, 12:56:49 AM
0.2.24 tells you when "add note" can't work because of the server being unreachable

By the way the server is really having a hard time... I'm glad I don't pay for this...
1466  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk++ script - v0.2.23 on: November 01, 2013, 09:07:06 PM
Great

The problems on the server make the script crash...
When it is solved, once the blue image shows you must click on it and the script will ask you the note to save
1467  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk++ script - v0.2.23 on: November 01, 2013, 08:53:18 PM
Looks like the server is crashing right now, that may be why
1468  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk++ script - v0.2.23 on: November 01, 2013, 08:24:35 PM
Click on "Add note" then on the blue icon next to the username
The notes are stored on the server
1469  Other / Meta / Re: Table errors on forum? on: November 01, 2013, 06:10:59 PM
Your zoom is less than 100%
Try Ctrl+0 or Ctrl+mousewheel
1470  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk++ script - v0.2.21 on: November 01, 2013, 05:55:55 PM
I never noticed any delay. Does anybody notice this as well? I'll check that.
If you can't reproduce it don't worry about it. I'm using an older Firefox and Scriptish, both of which I should change anyway.
That may explain why

0.2.22 includes user notes
1471  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk++ script - v0.2.21 on: November 01, 2013, 04:50:22 PM
0.2.21

Even though you think he might be asking too much, that's the tip you should send to be using the script.
Better now than later, cause it will raise, probably.

(Consider that as green back-colored ad, no relation.)
Just fucking tip jackjack!

I would tip him, but I am currently limited in my Bitcoins. Keeping up a faucet costs a lot more then I expected, but well, I am having fun doing it Grin

JackJack, I will definitly tip you when I am able too.
Nice to see the script is appreciated Smiley

I would really really really like the ability to ignore a paticular thread, so that it doesn't show up in the forum listings. There's some threads that are always popping up annoying me that I have absolutely no interest in (such as the Free Bitcoin threads).
Should be easy to implement
The problem is that the index would still appear as unread

Also, I don't see how the notes features works yet, but maybe i missed something.
Put your mouse on the next to my username

I have to say I really like this script, despite it adding a bit of delay before the page is displayed (it doesn't seem to be related to external requests, as the ticker and user ratings come up after).

I have a few remarks:

You can't see your rating of an user, and this is what I mostly care about (I actually wouldn't mind an option to only have my own rating shown). This would probably be better than my very liberal usage of ignore because I can't remember all usernames. Perhaps bold the + or - when you already have rated the user.

Another one is that you can't use "report scammer" on an ignored user.
I never noticed any delay. Does anybody notice this as well? I'll check that.
You can see your list of ratings: go to BT++ settings page, then List of all BT++ votes (you must know your own hash, ask me if you want it)
If you want to check without changing the page then click on +:
  • 1. if you never rated the user: the script will display "voted +1"
  • 2. if you already rated him +1: the script will display "already voted +1"
  • 3. if you already rated him -1: the script will display "vote revoked"
Then if in case 1. or 3. click on -1.
It's of course not perfect but it's the only way to know for now. Your idea is kinda good.

About the "report scammer" on an ignored user, I didn't notice, I'll fix that soon.

Could the person that gave me a -1 send me a Message? I would like to fix any problem you have with me or what I did. Wink
PMs to voters are coming

Current todo:
Quote
ignore thread
note users
display current vote
report scammer on ignored user
pms to voters
1472  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk++ flags on: October 31, 2013, 08:01:30 AM
about candoos other scam (its mention in the thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=299782.0):

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=286962.0 (german)
short version: organized bfl group buy, beaking contracts, tries to scam buyers and trolling people

overall he's a very shady person, greedy as hell, breaking contracts, lies, deletes posts, trolling people, tries to scam, smartass, and so on...

in my eyes, he deservers a scammer tag.

It seems that people don't like to report scammers

i dont know about others, but i'm just reporting scammers when i'm sure whats going on and i'm sure they deserve a scammer tag. i do not report just because someone else told me to, someone is a stupid cunt, bitching or i just dont like what they say. otherwise the reportlist would be over 9000 within seconds Smiley

what other flags and/or report reasons than scamming and spamming do you have in mind?
I'll look at this thread

I also report someone only when I'm sure but I thought there would be more reports considering the complains about mods being too nice with scammers

I'm OK to add any flag that has a meaning
"Report scammer" is only for s(c/p)ammers but you can propose any flag directly in this thread

Magazine is a scammer: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=309475.0
I still trying to make me look bad, kinda funny.
I'll look at this

Well they do have the Report to Moderator links next to all posts.

But I do agree that there should be a way for users to up/down (or at least up only) whatever they want.
You can already vote +1/-1 for someone
I believe flags are still useful because being annoying can bring you a lot of -1 so a bad score doesn't mean someone is a scammer
With a flag you instantly know who's the guy
1473  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk++ script - v0.2.19 on: October 30, 2013, 09:50:33 PM
Glad you like the updates!

Could we have a notes feature, where I can store notes by clicking on a username and a little edit box pops up.

Its hard to keep track of so many people on here.
Alpha version of notes in 0.2.20: displaying works but not editing. It's not hard to add but I don't have the time to do it...
Take a look at the OP of https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=268435 (it's a note that everybody can see only for testing purposes, of course there will be no such overall note when it's ready)

It would be a good idea to check for keypress too. While writing this post my paged refreshed and I had to start over again Tongue
Indeed, added in 0.2.21

If you're gonna choose a coin to take over for yourself or for an ETF, the best thing would be one which is abandoned, just like Bitcoin was.
Lol

1476  Other / Off-topic / Re: Inaba - The biggest scum bag on these forums? on: October 29, 2013, 07:02:50 AM
Again you avoid the point.

What is your opinion of his slandering others?
What is your opinion about his stand on say refunds given the FTC rules for shipping products?
1477  Local / Discussions générales et utilisation du Bitcoin / Re: CatchChallenger on: October 29, 2013, 06:56:23 AM
Pourquoi pas créer un altcoin?
1478  Other / Off-topic / Re: What in the world is this? on: October 28, 2013, 10:15:12 PM
And similar threads
1479  Other / Off-topic / Re: What in the world is this? on: October 28, 2013, 10:08:22 PM
Natural selection
True.
Might as well give them all your passwords then..
You completely missed the point
1480  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk++ script - v0.2.18 on: October 28, 2013, 08:57:12 PM
It seems that people don't like to report scammers
I just created this thread to flag reported people
