Changing their usernames doesn't have any effect on voting because BT++ accounts (on the server) are not tied to bitcointalk's ones. For now BT++ (client) guesses the username by reading the "Hello, username" and you can't modify that without messing (a bit) with the code. If someone changes his username, I just have to add a setting that allows setting one's BT++ username by hand instead of just guessing it. It's a matter of a few lines.
Tell me if I'm not clear
For instance, if I change my username to 'Putin', my BT++ client will read 'Hello Putin' at the top of the page. So each time I'll vote it will send username=Putin and password=passwordForJackjack. As Putin!=jackjack, the server will refuse my votes. In order to fix that I'll add a setting to force my BT++ client to use username=jackjack.

(also, it's VERY tempting to hit that -1 button on your perfect score ) Did I mention that the first one to put me a -1 will be banned? So it's a dictatorship is it! (create alt account, neg him on the alt ) EDIT: 50% looks horrible - it doesn't even have a % sign! Make it at least bold, maybe green I made that because I wanted to make the null score discrete (as MANY people have null a score) But yeah, when the 0 comes from multiple votes and not because of no votes at all I should make it prettier (not sure whether I'm clear...) Not green though, blue I think Yuck! Blue looks horrible! Also, it's confusing to have a black 0 and then a red +0%. I don't have enough time currently to waste it on colors, but if you find a better color that is not green or red I can change it To find one, preview a post with this, and change #aabbcc: [0%/8] [+ −] And everything is blue here, I don't see any red

Can you add an answer "No, it did not" in the poll please? Thank you.

Seems simple enough to me; you want him to do something, you should pay him for his time.
It wasn't long ago that I had this little message beneath my avatar: it read, "Why fear hell? We're already in it." Someone had messaged me (presumably a religious person but he never said) asking me to change it to something else, because it "isn't good for people to read that" (and wouldn't explain what this meant, either.) I said to him, I would love to change those words, and all I'm asking for is 1 BTC in return. He wouldn't bite; he said I should do it for free, despite my own wishes. I figured, if I was asking for 1 BTC, it should've been clear I didn't want to change it because someone asked, but apparently it wasn't. I told him to contact me again when he had the coin, and he never messaged me again. I wound up changing it months later on my own volition.
Anyhoo, there was another point in time where Matthew had asked me to edit my post because he accidentally posted too soon and wanted to change a few bits that I'd stored in my quote. I think Matt's a pretty cool dude (I don't know why people don't like him but I haven't been around very long so what do I know), and he had purchased my services once before (more like, he donated 1 BTC to me out of the blue, and I felt obliged to make something for him), so I was happy to do that little thing for him, and would do so again.
Point is, if it's really that important, you'll be ready to pay for it to happen; you can't ask favors from people, insult them when they refuse, and then attempt to ridicule them in public for their decision; this is exactly the opposite direction to go in if you ever expect them to go through with that favor, and by now, I don't know if it'll ever happen. Maybe he'll keep it that way just to spite you; maybe you'll resort to asking mods to take care of the problem after refusing to help the situation yourself. My advice: apologize, lock the thread, and in time, everybody will forget this ever happened.
This, so much

If you take a time machine and go back a few years, 1000000 BTC would be a great price for an iPhone 5.
I would put the BTC on a USB and take it back with me Great, you would have orphans transactions on your USB key, enjoy your 0 BTC

Not green though, blue I think nice feature, when will someone become a scammer? how to use this feature (i found the button, i mean when should i click)? just report people after they scammed? or report very untrustworthy people as well?
Reporting has nothing to do with tags If one is reported a lot, then we'll have a nice discussion here to decide what to do with him (tag him or not, if so which tag) It's more a "this guy deserves some attention" button, so you can report untrustworthy people and potential scammers You can always contact me if you mistakenly reported someone just reported BT++ for scamming, hell his hey makes me so aggressive btw, can't up-/downvote BT++, "Error: Values not matching", because he's already tagged as scammer? I didn't see his thread received some attention! And no, I used a check that wasn't very reliable and that is now useless anyway. Working now.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin QT Asking For Passphrase to Receive BTC

Because in your wallet the private keys are encrypted with your passphrase So when you generate a private key, bitcoin-qt needs the passphrase so that it can write it (after encrypting it with the passphrase) in the wallet
Does it generate a new key for the key pool right away? Yes, actually the new address is not generated, it takes an unused key from the pool to give it to you as a "new" one Then to keep the same pool size it generates a pool key

I don't see the problem here, that's when the ignore function comes into play
This guy literally adds no value to the forum and looks suspicious Still I didn't call for a ban, I just asked if such worthlessness was authorized here

BTW: please don't tell me you're using blockchain.info in french?!
I do but I never read texts anyway... Why? cause the formatted blockchain.info links should lead to blockchain.info/fr according to your post Oh you meant in the script! Not at all, I put the real (no language) link

Bitcoin / Project Development / BitcoinTalk++ script
|
on: August 31, 2013, 09:28:26 PM
|
Hi all, I released a user script for bitcointalk a month ago in the Meta subforum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=264337.0 (instructions there) It includes: - A voting system
- There are currently 22 voters
- One's score is the sum of +1s and -1s (no lists yet)
- I manage the voters list by hand currently, so no cheating possible
- Everybody is entitled to be a voter (except maybe low activity accounts with stupid posts), just ask me and I send you your BT++ password (only needed to vote)
- All the lists of voters' votes are public, but the name of the voter himself is hidden (allows voters to check I didn't mess with their votes)
- Voters can now (0.1.33) anonymously report scammers so that 1) people can check these guys and -1 them, and 2) I can tag them after more research+vote
- A ticker
- Hideable
- Currently 5 possible sources and I'll add all the ones you want (MtGox, BitcoinAverage with or without MtGox, BTC-e, Bitstamp)
- It uses whatever currency as long as it's supported by your source
- Refresh rate modifiable
- Some features
- Save your parameters in the server
- Full list of your PMs
- Make thread titles link to the last read post
- BT++ tags
- Format addresses: 1Pxeccscj1ygseTdSV1qUqQCanp2B2NMM2 to 1Pxeccscj1ygseTdSV1qUqQCanp2B2NMM2
- Format transactions: tx:a5293ef1ff6037daae0ae551218654b8f88109b9d2aebdc6bc6791948b66e43f to a5293ef1ff6037daae0ae551218654b8f88109b9d2aebdc6bc6791948b66e43f
- Formatting buttons and smileys above the Quick Reply form
- Autofill the Quick Reply form (by your signature for instance)
- Make an automated image uploader in the reply forms
- Signature for PMs and a button to add it
- Deep configuration of features
Feel free to ask me anything
