It does not take if you have 0% - 1% or 90% of the bitcoins.
What matters is if you have more than 51% of the mining power. Miners are accepting transactions. It is a decentralized currency. If you have more than 51% of the power, you can freely choose which transactions can proceed or not. No matter if the owner of the bitcoins wants to send them or not. You can do whatever you want, because you are the majority. That's like if you got 51% of the voting power, you can choose the president, no matter what.


There is some option to reduce the risk of 51% attack, you can do some research about it.

It could cascade into a world war.

The US says "Hey, chemical weapons are bad!", so they lob some missiles at Syria. Russia says "Hey, US, mind your own business!" and starts lobbing missiles at US targets. China says "Hey, US, mind your own business, and by the way the South China sea belongs to us", and they start lobbing missiles at US targets and invade Malaysia. India then says "WTF are you doing, China, that's disrupting our supply routes" and they start lobbing missiles into China. Then Pakistan says "mind your own business, India, and by the way, the northern part of India should be ours anyway", so they invade India. Then some central African nation will join the US side, but their neighbor will take the opposite side and so they will start fighting. So on and so forth, until everybody is fighting.

In fact, I admitted that I only skimmed your calculations, and I'll further admit that throwing in all humans as workers was a sorta off the shoulder comment made without consideration of the specificity of your calculations.  I'm focusing on the categorical difference between impossibility and improbability.

If your argument is basically this:  X is improbable. 
And my reply is this: X is improbable doesn't imply X is impossible. 
And your reply is this: no, X is very very improbable. 
Then it seems like we're talking past each other.

You said you like semantics.  So do I!  Perhaps we can find some agreement here:

1) An event with probability > 0 is not impossible.
2) A proposition supported only by inductive evidence is not deductively proven.

Funny that people have no idea what a 51% attack is.

IF a 51% attack occurs you will see no increase in hashing power.
If a 51% attack occurs the attacker will generate 100% of block.
If a 51% attack occurs there will be a long (at least 6 block) reorganization.
If a 51% attack occurs the new chain will replace transactions of an existing chain.

51% = boogeyman for clueless Bitcoiners.
Bad crop harvest = must be the 51% attack.
Bitter winter lasting longer than normal = must be the 51% attack.
Downpour on the eve of a battle = must be the 51% attack.
The king has no sons and five daughters = must be the 51% attack.
