I propose posts being marked as useless/ no content. If a user accumulates enough of these they lose rank, the posts should also not count under the regular postcount.

There needs to be a system where a post has some sort of classification.

No-one can be a true here member if all they posted was 1000 posts in the newbie section saying "hello" over a 6 month long period of time.

This is serious flaw in this forum's ranking system, one that needs to be fixed.
+1

It's not a very high priority; the rank system is more for vanity than anything.
It's used to avoid the posting limits actually
I'd prefer mute the user for 1 week though

xDeathwing, pay up or you'll be SCAMMER tagged.

Firstly, there no longer are scammer tags on this forum.

Secondly, since theymos has basically washed his hands with this allowing xDeathwing to set the precedence, we can now all list bounties and change the amount offered after the requirements have been met, using the, "I was just joking!" excuse. If it works for a well-respected mod, it should work for us common users.

Here's the deal: If xDeathwing doesn't pay up the remaining 0.45 BTC owed within 24 hours, I will pay it. But, I don't think that'll be in the best interest of this community.

Short input. I'll have much more time soon™ to code/answer again.
Trademark is upside-down.
Two Weeks is TW, not TM.

And beside trolling, I'd like to necro one of my oldest suggestions, which was:
Make all those funky functionnalities inbound.
Have you talked with theymos about that?
I really hate having monkey scripts running wild on my computer, and would much prefer a smooth integration into the smf forum code.

If you don't feel like trying and convince theymos, I'm willing to try. I'm a diplomacy beast. Grin
Do if you wish, I'm not really into negotiating

When and where do we discuss scammer tags? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=287622 seems like a decent starter
Well... Here I guess. I don't want to spam the meta forum with BT++ threads.
Anybody wants to say something about xDeathwing?
I have not looked at this yet.

Oh wait he has -5/7 !?
Looks like you guys don't like him Grin

Ok I read the whole thread. Well, I'd prefer to give him an untrustworthy tag. It's up to you guys though.

Short input. I'll have much more time soon™ to code/answer again.

Add an option to, when clicking a thread, view all posts (so we don't have to click "All")
AFAIK theymos removed the All button on long threads because on the heavy load it created. I might add it again for these threads but I won't make thread links load all the pages by default.

maybe have a cool autoloader that loads page 2 when you reach the bottom of page 1 otherwise,
This is something I'd like to implement.

Make a password-gen site, so people don't spam you.
Well he generates it so people can't create new accounts and downvote people who they don't like. This way he can control who get's the power to use it and who not. I think it would be better if the script works when you have reached a certain activity / post number.
Indeed that's the point. FWIW I never refused sending a password yet.
I'd like to make such a script, it would be easier than what 001sonkit describes.

It would just be a "Request password" button in the BT++ interface that would send a PM to my account "BT++", then the script (a daemon on my server) would send a PM with the password to the account asking for it. Only once (at all) per requesting account to avoid spamming PMs.

Or to be completely offline, you can flip a coin 256 times to make the private key and have a calculator and pencil and paper to calculate the public key and address. I want to do it one of these days just to show that it's possible.
Calculating the public key would require a crazy amount of motivation
Calculating the address is impossible

Tape out August 2013

No evidence they taped out in August 2013 for this product. Their page is therefore tagged PANTS ON FIRE until they rectify that, either revise or remove that claim.

Why not cut the bullshit and stop referring to them as signatures if we allow any content and formatting in that space? It's more of a footer that currently users can customize any way they wish.

There is no need in this footer for colors, font size options, and even links. Text only, convey the information you wish to convey, and that's it.
It's been months that people are proposing this. The deep silence from the staff means this will never happen.
1852  Other / Off-topic / Re: god bless paypal on: September 10, 2013, 07:33:46 AM
I don't understand the bad wrap against PayPal here. People simply don't understand that if you break their rules then you are at risk of losing your money. When you successfully create an account at PayPal without accepting their terms, then and only then do you have any right to bitch about PayPal for whatever reasons.
How is fundraising my project against PayPal terms?

It seems the community itself advises to prefer PayPal over BTC.

The following is from an ASIC vendors forum. There are postings like this all over the place:

Pretty obvious for an ASIC pre-order...

I said "meh, nobody cares" when i saw China in the title.

Did you ever look in a mirror and realize nobody gives a damn about you!  In fact I am sure a lot of members have you on their ignore list.  douchebag!

No one is ignoring him yet you can be the first.  Smiley

I have ignored nearly all of his post because they are worthless.  Now he is added to my ignore list.

I just hope he finds out it was a relative of his visiting China!

Here is how worthless his posts are!

1858  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 1BitcoinEaterAddressDontSend on: September 09, 2013, 07:51:16 PM
Because it is not 62, it is 58:

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Base58Check_encoding

'0' 'O' 'I' and 'l' are not used, 62 - 4 = 58.

So, in fact, his equation is in error.  We only use 24 of the captital letters so 2433/5833 = (24/58)33.

I am surprised no one else (including me) caught that the first time around.

It was interesting to read my OP in this old thread.  Man, all I can say is what a noob I was back then Wink

Thank you for your answer!

In bitcoin address, there are 4 bytes error checking code, so i think the formula shoud be (24/58)29, am i right?

1 byte != 1 base58-digit

4 bytes = 256⁴ ~ 4 billions
and
58⁵ < 4 billions < 58⁶

So the signature is actually 6 base58-digits
