1961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin 51% attacked? on: December 11, 2011, 09:03:26 PM
There was some discussion recently about Litecoin having a "dark pool" with about 55% of the network mining power. Coblee is aware of it and seems to be hiding the fact this imminent 51% threat exists to Litecoin.

It is possible this dark pool already done multiple 51% attacks as they seem to be continually stopping their mining and "doing something else for an hour or so" before resuming. Hopefully someone is monitoring the reorgs which have been occurring and determining if anyone is actually losing Bitcoins on the exchanges.

Have you ever noticed that when you speak, it seems a politician?!
That is, a card-carrying liar who speaks beautiful but, in reality, is a bastard...
CH, you have no credit.
Get out with your centralized-pseudo-cryptocurrency called shitcoin.

1963  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What's generally considered the best pool to join? on: December 11, 2011, 03:05:33 AM
What's generally considered the best pool to join that someone could link me to, or perhaps even a website that is reputable that handles rankings? I'm not so sure solo mining is going to get me anything.

I'm churning out 870 mh/s, I'm unsure if that's good enough for solo'ing exactly, or if I'm even doing this correctly. If that is good enough for solo what's a really good guide for solo mining that goes into great detail so a noob like me can learn the ropes to it?

What's the best software for mining? I'm currently using GUIMiner for my 2x 5870's and my 4670, is that good?

Also, my bitcoin wallet program had to be re-installed and I've lost my original receive coins address, is there a way to get this back or should I just concentrate on the new address?

EclipseMC is the best I know...

You can have:

1- Payouts directly to your PayPal account! Instead of Bitcoins!;
2- SMS alerts of everything! New blocks founds, wallet changes, cashouts, offline miners, etc...

It will be awesome when EclipseMC reaches 200GHash!!

Cheers!

1964  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [204 GH/s] yourbtc.net closing it's doors on: December 11, 2011, 02:43:51 AM
Thanks @all

I already received a couple of messages from people who are interested in either continue running the pool or interested in the pool frontend.

So i decided to make the pool frontend open source and public so everyone can use and customize it. It will take a couple of days until it's ready to be published.

The software is designed for Double Geometric Method only as it comes and the variables f, c and o can be set as you like.

Please, let us know when and where you'll release the source code of the site...

EclipseMC pool growing!!! Reach 180GHash!

SMS and PayPal cashout enabled pool!!

Thanks!

Exato... Basta fechar o Bitcoin 0.4.0 e abrir o Bitcoin 0.5.0.

1967  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Problema a enviar bitcoins on: December 10, 2011, 03:26:52 AM

I switch to BTCGuild but, it is weird... Too much "Pool 0 communication failure, caching submissions"...
1969  Local / Português (Portuguese) / BTCGuild com CGMiner 2.0.6 - Alguém?! on: December 08, 2011, 07:16:59 AM
Caros,

1970  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Point for Bitcoin! Point for Linux! And point for Ubuntu!! on: December 08, 2011, 05:04:20 AM
Hi!

I'll make a new version of this guide, using only GUI.

Best!
Thiago

We need a client that DOESN'T NEED A GUIDE.  The existence of a guide indicates the lack of a user-friendly client.

I'm sure that this will happen with the release of Ubuntu 12.04.

And I say more, the "Ubuntu Software Center" will have some kind of "Pay with Bitcoins" button or, when you click at the "Buy" button, a window will appear asking you which currency you want to pay (BTC / LTC / USD / BRL / etc)...

Cheers,
Thiago

How certain is this?

Because it is open source?!  :-P

We can do it.

Just need to add multi-currencies support to it... EUR / USD / BTC / LTC / NMC

And a awesome GUI to register a domain with your namecoins!

Simple and clean.
1971  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: San Francisco Occupiers Starting Own Credit Union on: December 07, 2011, 10:51:21 PM
Hi!

Not only them should start looking to Bitcoin but every community too.

For example, I think that each Solidarity Economy communities must have its own Bitcoin/Litecoin Mining Rig. So, instead of creating a "social coin", they will use Bitcoins!

Best!

1972  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1014 GH/s 0% fee SMPPS] ArsBitcoin mining pool! Come join us! on: December 07, 2011, 10:39:04 PM
Hi!

I moved my 10GHash/s mining rig from ArsBitcoin to EclipseMC.

 It is awesome!

You can cashout your Bitcoins directly to your PayPal account! In dollars!

You can receive SMS messages when any rig goes down...

It is the best pool out there!

Cheers!

1973  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people in USA fear socialism so much? on: December 07, 2011, 08:23:59 PM
I don't understand, maybe I'm just too young with whole cold-war mentality born just around collapse. Sure communism didn't work out very well.

But, I do prefer some socialism to pure capitalism. So I don't realy get this whole fear of it in USA, it can't be all bad or is it? Can someone explain it to me?

Isn't fear... Is that none of this tries have provided a decent human life for everybody on the planet.

Socialism, fascism, communism, capitalism are part of a social evolution... They come and go... None of this works nicely for mankind.

We need a new and better approach, a new culture.

I prefer something called a Resource-Based Economy.

Best,
Thiago

A situação está a aquecer... O que esperam no futuro ?

Espero que eles sejam presos. Já está mais que na hora...

justiça em portugal ? não me parece.

Correto.

Guys,

Observe how ALL the ecosystem, the whole Bitcoin Economy is very close to you...

Installation of the Bitcoin Client binary or via source code, compiling it independently with little command lines. No configuration files needed.

 Source: http://www.bitcoin.org/ -> Downloads - Ubuntu PPA

Creating your Bitcoin Wallet on Ubuntu Linux versions 11.10, 11.04 and earlier - 32 and 64 bits supported

 1- Install Ubuntu Desktop 11.10 in your computer (Ubuntu.com);

2- Open the Terminal app and type the following commands:

Code:
sudo aptitude install python-software-properties # installs the following command:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin # Add the Bitcoin Ubuntu PPA repository in your Ubuntu

sudo aptitude update # Update the package list (files under /etc/apt/)

sudo aptitude install bitcoin-qt # For desktops or:
sudo aptitude install bitcoind # For network servers like exchanges, pools, gambling, etc...

NOTE.: If the command "aptitude" isn't found, replace it with "apt-get". Or, install the "aptitude" (recommended) with: "sudo apt-get install aptitude".

Ready! Look for Bitcoin under "Applications menu" in Ubuntu 11.04 Desktop 2D, or type "bitcoin" in the search field of Ubuntu 11.10 Dashboard (Dash home).

3 - Advanced: obtaining and compiling the source code of Bitcoin:

   Downloading the Bitcoin source code:

Code:
sudo sed -i -e "s/# deb/deb/g" /etc/apt/sources.list # Activate the source code repositories of the whole Ubuntu (also, check the file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/bitcoin-bitcoin-*.list)

sudo aptitude update

sudo apt-get build-dep bitcoin # Download the build dependencies to compile Bitcoin under Ubuntu.

apt-get source bitcoin # Download the Bitcoin source code prepared to be compiled and packaged under Ubuntu.

   Compiling your Bitcoin:

Code:
cd bitcoin-0.5.0
dpkg-buildpackage -uc -us -rfakeroot
ls -l ../

The Bitcoin packages of YOUR own Bitcoin binary are the files with ".deb" extention, which you can see with the command "ls -l ../" above.

Now you just need some good C / C++ / Qt developer, plus your ideas, to make your own custom Bitcoin Client!!

Best!

Amigo,

Sim! Encontrei vários amigos no OccupySãoPaulo...
