1861  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: My suggestions on how to make a decent client on: December 27, 2011, 12:50:34 AM
Guys,

A lot of people forget that Bitcoin is a BETA software.
It is just a embryo!! A baby software.
 Bitcoin 0.4.0 is great...
 Bitcoin 0.5.1 is AWESOME!
Bitcoin 0.6.0 need a lots of tests BEFORE the final release!
So, stop crying (sorry if I'm being rude) and start helping!!
 Draw your suggestions in a mock-up software/site...

Best!

1862  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Pulling patches for version 0.6 on: December 26, 2011, 10:33:29 PM
Gavin,

The Bitcoin 0.6.0 introduces a LOT of new features.

I just want to ask you guys ONE thing:

One month of testing before the oficial release.

Thank you guys for the hard work!!!

Best,
Thiago

Hi!

I'll insist. We need to test version 0.6.0 A LOT before the final release.

There are rumors that the Bitcoin network will split in two, one side, people using 0.5.1, 0.4.0.... On the other side, people using 0.6.0...

So, I would like to test the version 0.6.0 for a month before the final release... Just to tranquilize the crowd...

Best!

1863  Local / Economia & Mercado / Re: Vendo 77 Bitcoins - NOVA OFERTA!! on: December 26, 2011, 08:02:10 PM
1 Bitcoin hoje está valendo ~4 USD.
1 Real vale ~2 USD.

Na altura estava a ~ 3.80 USD.

1 BRL = ~0.54 USD

Como de custume, o brasileiro paga um pouco a mais mesmo pelo Bitcoin... Pois ele conhece o país que vive... Sabe das dificuldades que o governo empurra goela abaixo dos brasileiros.

Uma mão lava a outra!!

1868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SOPA and NMC prices on: December 25, 2011, 03:09:57 PM
Hi!

Also, there is something else to push the Namecoin price up, called: Protect IP Act.

I already have 1000 Namecoins by now and I'm creating the web interfaces (only mock-ups) to register domains easily with it.

Every Bitcoin pool should activate Merged Mining ASAP! Because Namecoin is VERY important! It means truly freedom on the net.

Every day the Establishment becomes more irrelevant.

Abx!

1869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin 51% attacked? on: December 25, 2011, 07:15:55 AM
I really like the idea of a CPU-only coin, but, do we really need it right now?!

There are very few people who know and are interested in Bitcoin, and even fewer people who are interested in Litecoin but, there are many people wanting to destroy the good things as Litecoin (aka CH).
1870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 51% Attack Preventable? on: December 25, 2011, 07:12:52 AM
These are the reasons I'm amazed that exchanges exist for these coins.  We're going on a little bit of faith that no harm is being done for these early fragile coins.

That is true... So, the cryptocurrencies needs a lot of investment on its early days, from miners, and a lot of development for merchants and for regular people...

I think that a new cryptocurrency like Litecoin should mature a lot, before its release. For example, online stores already open just waiting for the coin, exchanges, auction sites and a lot, a lot of marketing BEFORE the release. So, a lot of miners will wait for it a relative long time before start its works... Sounds nonviable but, how to have a huge crew of miners at the beginning!?

The Bitcoin already pass that phase... I do not fear a 51% attack in Bitcoin but now, I see that Litecoin is too vulnerable... Even when there is some bad guys like CoinHunter making threats of attack and telling lies and encouraging bad things.

Cheers,
Thiago
1871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin 51% attacked? on: December 25, 2011, 06:56:26 AM
Well... I hate to admit but, now, the Litecoin total haspower is "10.16 MH/s" but, sometimes, it reaches 30MH/s!!
Can be nothing but, how to identify a blockchain split (51% attack?!) automatically if it happen?!

But I don't get you when you say "less control in cloud computing"... Because I'll have full control of it.
Exactly. You'd have full control of it... and could run off with the coins of all your users whenever you wish Wink

At my cloud, your wallet will be hosted in your own Virtual Machine Instance, entirely encrypted with your password, which I don't know.
I think a cloud hosted system is interseting, but having each VM with a full client would get heavy and waste a lot of disk space since each one would need the full blockchain.

You need a light client like Electrum if you want to be able to scale https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=50936.0.

Not if I use some kind of deduplication file system.

Also, I'm planning to create a feature called "download wallet", so you'll be able to open it in your own regular Bitcoin client.
1874  Local / Economia & Mercado / Re: Vendo 77 Bitcoins - NOVA OFERTA!! on: December 23, 2011, 05:59:50 AM

Yes, I can scan the RAM memory of my physical server, to try to find your key but, this is hard to do (I'll not do) and, if you are logged out, I'll never be able to try to take your coins.

BTW, trust is something you (me) earn.

I'll never run off with any coins, never.

People change but, I'm not a thief and I'll never be.

I'm thinking in two versions for the Universal Client, one for web and another in C/C++/C# for desktops/mining rigs... But those two versions can/should share common functions/code. And have a similar GUI / user experience.
1877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Universal client on: December 23, 2011, 03:25:00 AM
grue,

I would like to help / invest on this C# development ONLY IF it can run on Linux using mono. I do not have any interest in Windows environment.
how do i know if it will run in mono? what .net framework should i use?

Mmm..  I have no idea but, the following site maybe can help:

http://www.mono-project.com/

Also, I have a friend that knows how to do it... I'll ask him...

Thiago

I prefer the development in pure C, using the Enlightenment Foundation Libraries but, C# can be fine too...

This interface will have support for Bitcoin, Litecoin and Namecoin, with option to "register your domain" with one button, using your own Namecoins.

A future version can be integrated with Dark Exchange or, a complete rewrite of it...

I'm planing to fit this entire system in a 4G flashdrive.

Best!
