This is a bit OT, but, isn't it much much much cheaper to pay to buy Litecoins directly than pay for electricity to get them now?

Where is the fun?!  Tongue

Grr so much work...

I have a ubuntu 11.10 iso somewhere in my external, i'll just strip it of its desktop environment.

Mmm... Have no idea... Are you using the latest P2Pool version?!

Why don't you install a Ubuntu Linux in a Virtual Machine, the VirtualBox can be your friend now!

So, you point your miners to the P2Pool running at your VM...

Best,
Thiago
1564  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: P2Pool donations - Promotion! You'll stay out?! :P on: February 09, 2012, 02:55:58 AM
Hi!

I just upgrade the promotion "rules"...

The Bitcoin prize rise up in 0.50 Bitcents and it will be subdivided in 3 payments of 0.50, 3 times a day.

The Litecoin prize will be done at a random time during the days.

Cheers!
Thiago

Hi fellas!

I would like to promote the P2Pool!!

During 30 days, I'll donate a small amount almost everyday to the P2Pool miners!

For both Litecoin and Bitcoin P2Pool miners!

 For the Bitcoin P2Pool miners:

 * In the period 10/02/2012 until 17/03/2012 I'll give 1.5 BTC / day - Subdivided in 3 * 0.50 at 08:00 AM, 16:00 PM and 00:00 AM (GMT);

 For the Litecoin P2Pool miners:

 * In the period 10/02/2012 until 10/03/2012 I'll give 200 LTC / day at a random time during the day.

My idea is to promote P2Pool technology and its miners...

If you have any interest and don't know how to join P2Pool, please, read my guide here:

A Complete Guide to P2Pool - For Ubuntu Linux...:

I knew 1% was okay, but if other miners submit stales I need Phoenix to do this as well (or switch miners) otherwise I lose out on 1% efficiency.

Is there some link I can trace to see if it is incorporated in the main build (of the main developers accept your commit)? (I am using Windows and usually building things yourself on none-Linux systems is a real pain,so I usually end up waiting for the windows binary like a regular user Smiley).

The link I gave will tell you what they do with it.

I know this is a lot to ask but can you fix the litecoin problem by, I don't know, the 10th. (Shamelessly suggesting the date that ThiagoCMC plans to donate 200LTC a day to the pool)

I can't even mine anymore because that error doesn't go away like before.

You are unable to mine for Litecoins through P2Pool?!
What is the error?!

Wink
1567  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: LTC vale a pena? on: February 09, 2012, 12:15:25 AM

Antes: Litecoin P2Pool ~350kH...

Mudei para lá com 220kH... Total do Litecoin P2Pool: ~600kH

Fiz o guia rápido do P2Pool e, agora o pool chegou em 1 Tera Hash/s !!!

Coincidência?!?! Acho que não!  Cheesy

Abx!

Please, give another try to Ubuntu 11.10 on that laptop!
If the wireless doesn't work, I can you with that. I'm sure it will work.

The first 200 LTC donation to Litecoin P2Pool subsidy will occur on 2012/10/02 at 14:00 PM -0200
Great to see Litecoin P2Pool grow!! ~800kH  Cool

Just started mining both my bitcoins and my litecoins on p2pool about 4 days ago.

THIS IS AWESOME!!!   Grin
Nice move!
1573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin (solo)-miners?! Come to Litecoin P2Pool!! A new promotion is coming! on: February 08, 2012, 07:40:08 PM
How many coins can I earn on your pool with about 30 KH/s?

The great point of P2Pool is: there is no "my pool"! The P2Pool isn't "my pool"... It is OUR pool.  Wink

Because to join it, you must install P2Pool in your own machine, directly to your own wallet.dat, you'll be your own "pool operator", and need to point your miners to YOUR pool... Which will be part of the P2Pool distributed network.

You'll earn almost the same if solo or in a pool like Pool-X.eu... The P2Pool payout logic is PPLNS.

Cheers,
Thiago

+_+

WOW!! I complete forgot one important step of Litecoin P2Pool!!

Please, give a couple minutes to review the guide...

Yes, the Litecoin P2Pool is a separate pool, if you want your P2Pool for both Litecoins and Bitcoins, you must run P2Pool daemon twice.

Sorry!!
