@crowetic
If people continue posting addresses here crowetic, the whole Qora team, and anyone who posted an address could get banned, and this thread could get locked.
Giveaways were banned in Alternate cryptocurrencies boards years ago by theymos (the forum administrator).
The moderators won't mind people sending addresses to crowetic by pm, but posting any address in this thread is not allowed.

The moderators can speak for themselves if they have a concern, which is unlikely.

It's not a giveaway, per se.  It's trying to solve a compelling urgent problem, in the only way possible.

In case you weren't following along:   A huge percent of the Qora coins have been locked in Poloniex exchange for several months.  They disabled dep/wd,  so noone can get their coins out.  They say the network wasn't stable enough because not enough wallets forging.  But the wallets can't forge *because they have no coins*  !   We can't add new users, because noone can get any coins from the main exchange!

This is the only way to solve the problem, untangle the knot.

The so-called "giveaway" amounts are relatively small, and for people pledging to actually do work (ie. get the wallet installed, synced and forging, which is not very easy at the moment).

That said, crowetic, we probably do need a smallish cap on the number of added forging wallets here, to avoid a giant string of 'me too' posts  (which is really the only point of that restriction).   And maybe use another word like 'bounty'.

Absolutely correct, if the mods feel the need to ban me for helping to fix a coin with an issue that can only be resolved in this fashion, that is their prerogative, I already realize they don't like the fact that altcoins are even on this forum in the first place, which is why I have already developed an alternative. Which we will be releasing shortly.

But yes, just in case, anyone interested in helping the QORA network, please send me a PM with your address (and only if you haven't already, please...) and I will send you some coin to forge with (only to help the network out of the current state, for anyone who is wondering, this is NOT a giveaway, it is a move that is necessary to revive the network while the largest exchange with 90% of the coin has their wallet on maintenance without good reason.)

Alright, I've finished the upload for the 'data' folder from the QORA wallet location. I believe this should help with the people who are having sync issues. You shouldn't be getting no connections, if you are, I will find a solution for that as well, but I have yet to see that issue, try restarting your wallet.

Also, if you're having issues on wallet close (which is an issue I've already reported to main dev and we're going to talk today in the meeting about a solution) please let me know, and I'll give you a few options that will hopefully help.

Here is a download on my cloud (I will have a more 'official' download coming soon, still working on domains and such.) - https://cloud.crowetic.com/s/wecM2rDvqIIFAPl

Also, unlock your wallet for forging please. That's it!
Thanks.
@crowetic http://qora.co.in/ is offline ...
MyAdress: QLdZxYYy4R4JfcBT4VEQZv3bdaqHrnQhaa

Unfortunately, that is one of the domains that we don't have control over, we'll be putting more up on qora.org, and more QORA related domains that I purchase, such as http://qora.press which will have the roadmap, and more!

sending 50k to you as well, please forge! Thanks!

edit - I'm also zipping and uploading a copy of the db to my cloud for people to download, since I've noticed sometimes the db has issues when closing (I'll be reporting this to the team and having a fix put out.)

The blockchain db download will be ready tomorrow.

I will always keep this attitude, and I will not drop this project, just like I haven't with BURST, I will always do what I can to make these things succeed when I see the true merit involved in a project.

I truly believe that QORA and BURST (as well as many other good alts) have a place right beside BTC in overtaking the current system.

Have a great night everyone (or whatever time of day it is) I'll be around tomorrow!

You will need your wallet not only open but in SYNC and in Forging mode... hopefully others will send some coins for us to forge because all my coins are on polo too and there are no other exchanges selling qora.
@bitwarrior I'm noob, can you help me?
To help Qora community, I need to leave my wallet open and with some balance? Only that?

Also, unlock your wallet for forging please. That's it!

The issue with QORA is that the Block Chain is broken and needs to be reissued to allow deposits and withdrawals to be made on POLO

Something is screwed up since i keep using the faucet but my coins never show up in my wallet even with the java wallet unless the faucet is broke. Would anyone be so kind to send me 1 Qora coin as a test?  QYQtyTkpdnLt4wFovWiSUt3Kjo1Cnj6XrK    thanks

Also I just opened up my java Qora wallet and now it wants to synced again from 1 %  Last night my wallet was fully synced 100% before i shut it down

Same here on the resynch. The Devs are working on it, I read a few pages back they have Web Wallet being implemented too. They will get it situated...

vipgelsi - sent you 10,000 QORA, please hold them in your wallet, and enable forging to support the network. Thanks!

Everyone else, I will be sending random amounts from 10 to 50k to the people who posted. I realized that 50k to everyone might get a little expensive! hah.
668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: August 23, 2016, 04:35:03 AM
Searching for qora led to 4-5 different threads if possible ask mods to delete the others for a new user is hella confusing.
This would be good indeed! I too came across like 4 dead ones.
Also, the first step in progress for Qora would be this poloniex problem...

If burst was almost dead, the developers did a great job. Burst has a very active community and a lot of projects going on. Very curious to see what Crowetic and team have in store for Qora.
One question @crowetic, what other coins beside Qora and Burst are you involved in?

Yes, to answer some questions... we have 3 of the ORIGINAL QORA devs. They are just now working in our expanded team, which includes BURST, QORA, XQN, KORE and a couple others. Of the 3, 1 has moved to a separate project which WILL tie BURST and QORA together, along with BTC, LTC, and multiple other coins, in a Decentralized Trade Portal. This will allow transfers of coin and services on multiple chains to each other, directly, without a central authority, and it will be pretty damn sweet!

The other 2 devs are working on QORA only, of the original QORA team. But one of them is very busy with real life, so it is really only 1 full time, and one helper currently working on QORA, as well as one outside observer, and consultant, helping with overall project collaboration and development, and structure.

We also have the BURST team, who are currently working mostly on BURST, but I'm sure will lend a hand to QORA if necessary.

Our overall goal is making a new internet, one that is secure from the lowest levels, and accessible to anyone. With easy to use interfaces and a ton of functionality. With our Smart Contract system, anything is possible. We have quite a lot in store for everyone, and I'm very pleased to be the one who gets to tell you all!

Our focus right now is on BURST and QORA. I've already written the idea map for the direction of QORA, but I'm waiting to post it publicly until we get a release from polo.

Also, I've posted to polo about the community revival, and the network growing again, and will tell them it is good to stop forging as soon as we get a confirmation of at least another 10 or so people who have their wallet sync'd and forging.

669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: August 23, 2016, 03:41:39 AM
Thank you all for your responses, everyone who posted an address will receive 50,000 QORA to stake with, much appreciated! I have to do this when I go upstairs to my wallet, but it shall be done, we really appreciate your participation in QORA's revival!

Also, if we can get the network strong again, I will personally tell Poloniex to stop forging, meaning more for everyone else!

I'm very happy with the quick responses.

What the team and I are working on now, is getting some more hosted wallets up so we can give links to Polo for this 'non existent blockex' they can't seem to find in the wallet xD.

Once again, thank you all!

671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Burstcoin [BURST] Price Speculation on: August 22, 2016, 11:26:26 PM
You're speaking in USD right?

In satoshi I firmly believe that the true value of BURST as it sits right now, is 2500 satoshi, half the price of NXT which it was cloned from, and has double the supply and a lot more features.

The only reason I can see it being the price it is now, well, two reasons...

1. Since the mining doesn't cost much, it is easier for miners to make profit at pretty much any price. (Though the reward is dropping, and I see miners not wanting to sell at such low prices here soon.)

2. Not enough exposure yet. - We hope to fix this with our BURST Smart Contract Hacker Challenge that we will be launching soon. As well as getting some more big money people paying attention to the potential in BURST. Once we've done these two things, I don't see a reason why BURST shouldn't hit 10,000 sat. Or more.

When we get the market cap high enough, we already have plans for much larger BURST assets based on some serious developments in the future. So we're just working on getting that market cap up in order to make these things come to fruition.

But now, we have other projects in the works that will surely help the market cap, and will be doing more PR and marketing campaigns to get people paying more attention.

My goal is to make BURST the first mentioned when talking about Smart Contracts, because it was the first coin to have them in the world. Sadly, no one brings it up when discussing smart contracts...

The only reason that this happens, I think, is because we didn't have a lot of funding at the beginning to get the Marketing done, since the release was totally fair, the team got no more a chance to get coin than anyone else. The team was simply formed from some dedicated community members, then made more 'official' here recently.

You're right about it just now getting started, because the team has some funding now, a few very beneficial assets, and an amazing group of people wholeheartedly supporting the project, and more joining all the time. Things are going to be VERY interesting here in the near future for our beloved altcoin. Personally, I'm very excited about all the stuff we're working on right now, and can't wait to see what happens when the world sees it and takes notice.

Thus far, every person I've showed the coin to, has been in awe of the development, and gets into the coin. This trend shall continue as more and more people take notice.

Here's to the future of BURST!

Hey crowetic,

Yes I am speaking in USD lol next time I'll be sure to put the $ in front.

I agree with everything you said and that is why I believe BURST is the best investment anyone out there can make right now. Even a few hundred dollars could make someone a nice amount of money in the future. Even if someone invested into the assets last month they would of 2x and even 4x there money in just a few short weeks. I have so far got 2 family members into Burst and into the assets and I'm working on a few more people I know to get in now before Burst starts to take off.

I also agree that Burst can easily reach 10,000 sats. I'm so excited about this coin and the huge potential it has to become a top 50 or even a top 10 Altcoin in the world. I know Burst will get into the top 100 in the near future which would be a great achievement.

As I keep saying on this forum to people think of Burst as a long term investment and don't worry about the price at the moment and to invest the mined Burst into assets which earn monthly dividends and also increase in value. Slow and steady wins the race I know truly believe that Burst will get there. You have my support crowetic and dev team. Every week I promote Burst on Twitter and also word of mouth so if people listen now they will benefit greatly in the future.

Keep up the good work your doing crowetic and dev team!

We appreciate your support, and yes, I believe that getting friends and family in is a great thing to do, and have been doing this myself for quite some time. This will be best way to grow and catch the scene all of a sudden.

I will not stop even after BURST reaches the price it deserves, building companies that make use of the tech, and decentralized services available. BURST and QORA and our other projects, will be moving closer together, and allowing the use of BTC, LTC, and any newer bitcoin core version coins that come around.

Soon enough, people will notice the fact that our fair released project has a lot more than almost any other, and all that we have is already working. The wallet is easy, everything is ready. Stage is set for a big uptick in price. We already have a lot more than most others do.

But in my opinion, we shouldn't be competing with other crypto coins, we should focus on the main objective here, replacing the current system with one that makes sense, and is a lot more functional. This is what we should all be doing. This is why we're reaching out and combining forces with other coins and teams that are legitimate whenever we can, to get to the place crypto as a whole should be, and not allow big corporations like IBM, Intel, Microsoft, and Google continue to own the world. We are not trying to replace them with something just like them, we're replacing them with something new, something better, and something that will actually help people, do real community outreach, and help provide prosperity to the world.
672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Burstcoin [BURST] Price Speculation on: August 22, 2016, 11:18:52 PM
I look at burst, mining hard disk space the question that comes to my mind is why can't they provide a service like SIA and Storj using this hard disk space for providing services and getting paid instead of just mining empty space. I may be wrong because I am not a technical person but when you ask people what service burst offers they can pick one that is of real world use.

The real world use is already there, the mining is just the storage space. The real world use comes with the Smart Contracts and businesses built on top of the chain. The mining uses a TON less power than any other algo that is PoW style. The use of the space, is to decrease the massive amounts of power usage that is required with other algorithms.

BURST takes as much power as simply leaving your computer on, plus a very small percentage.

The Real World use cases come in with the Smart Contracts, and Asset Exchange, CrowdFunding, Person To Person Worldwide Market, all DECENTRALIZED. These are all run based on this 'random data' that is plotted to the hard drives in BURST mining. So the fact that the space is only used for mining, means nothing in the long term, nor for real world use cases, as BURST has a LOT of other potential use cases that are being taken advantage of with our new companies and others that choose to make use of them.

Also, in the future, a BURST sister project will be releasing decentralized storage, but it will also be done with a low power algorithm, therefore keeping us ahead of the competition in this regard.

The High power consumption of mining PoW algos is a serious issue with long-term adoption and use of coins. Solving THAT issue to us was most important, which is why the HDD mining is not focused on making use of the space. Not right now. The main problem it solves, are all of the issues in PoS as well as all of the issues of PoW, in a single algo, we believe this to be more important than making use of the space... Especially considering everything else that BURST can do, being the FIRST coin to ever have Smart Contracts, while ETH was still doing their scam IPO.

[ANNouncement] Here's the reply from poloniex on my ticket...

"Hi Jason Crowe,

Your request has been noted, as has your considered judgment of our ethics. We are forging blocks at the urging of the original developer, who felt the network would otherwise be too weak or unstable. If you feel the network would be better off without this, we are happy to stop, but it is a difficult call to make when there does not appear to be a working block explorer. Qora has a history of forking randomly, and given the current, upsetting state of the network, we really need an official working explorer before enabling deposits and withdrawals.

Best regards,

Tristan
Poloniex Support"

They, as you can see, said that the original developer had asked them to forge blocks to help the network...

What this means to me, is that we need to get MORE people forging outside of poloniex. This is the major issue with the coin.

So, everyone who supports QORA, PLEASE START A WALLET AND GET IT FORGING...

I may even start a giveaway to provide coins for forging, as well as the QrowdFunds.

I have pointed out the internal block explorer to poloniex, and hopefully that will be enough for them to re-enable deposit and withdrawal, however, I will also be getting some hosted wallets going, so that I can provide a link to the internal blockex that can be accessed from anywhere. I could put this on qora.org and/ora nother QORA related domain.

I will keep you all posted, but please, GET WALLETS RUNNING! We MUST increase the stability of the network so that we can continue with the plans we have. Thank you!

The good thing here, is that polo isn't being unethical, they're doing something that was asked of them, which is good, and they will stop when we are successful in making the network stronger. So let's do it!

It's been a disastrous couple of Days for Burst Mining. On ninja nothing mined on the 19th & 20th. Things look ok this Morning but now looks like burst-team.us is off on a fork as it's way behind on blocks and winning them all. burstcoin.eu is not sending any data.

Unless things are sorted soon and the network made more robust I and I suspect others are going to start loosing confidence in Burst.

Rich

I'm aware with the stability issues of the pools/wallets recently, and am working to resolve them. All the pools have paid up, Crow and I put those Burst that mined on a fork in out of out own wallets.

Due to the issue with pool.burst-team.us overnight getting on a fork and "winning" every block, a 55,000 Burst bonus has just been sent out to all the pool miners. 10K bonuses will be going out to .biz and .eu shortly.

Again, we're aware there have been issues, and we're working on them. Thanks for sticking with us.

H.

Also, a 55k BURST bonus will be paid out to ninja shortly as well.
677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: August 21, 2016, 01:51:15 AM
The issue with QORA is that the Block Chain is broken and needs to be reissued to allow deposits and withdrawals to be made on POLO

So qora blockchain isn't working well, right? It harms the market, and polo usually delist unstable blockchain coins. Like last time polo delisted Gemz there due to the blockchain issue.

The blockchain is working perfectly, but I found a small bug in the zipped wallet that stopped the light wallet working.

https://github.com/Qoracoin/Qora/releases/download/0.26.0/Qora_v0.26.0.zip

After installing and running the light wallet it synced, but never opened in the toolbar, so I couldn't open my wallet. However, I could see it had synced by opening this link which shows my wallet's block explorer.

http://127.0.0.1:9090/index/blockexplorer.html

The small bug preventing my wallet working properly was in the run-light-wallet.bat file in the Qora folder.

If you right click it, then select edit a notepad window opens showing you its contents. After I deleted -Dnogui from the fifth line down (shown in red below) and saved the file my wallet started working perfectly

set PARAM=-Xms512m -Xmx1024m -Dnogui -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 -jar Qora.jar

I downloaded the data folder available from either of the links below, unzipped it, and put it in the Qora folder to speed up the sync time. I found it had synced in about two hours with the added data folder.

http://qora.co.in/data/data_20160528_122841_220996_v0260.zip (634.99 mb)

http://qora.co.in/data/data_20160528_122841_220996_v0260.7z (197.02 mb)

The Block Chain's not broken, there is just a small bug in the run-light-wallet.bat file that you double click to start the light wallet.

Thanks for sharing this, its a good help, now I am back on track on my qora wallet.

is there qora dev still alive?

The original dev is no longer part of the project, however, I do have 3 of the original team still part of our expanded team with BURST and our other coins.

Thank you for this reply, I'll mention this to dev team.

I've always run the regular wallet, so maybe what's why I don't have any issues.

this cannot be true, as poloniex wallet is forging majority of the blocks, I'm not sure what they're doing, but I'll be reaching out again.

@crowetic: Are you the one that "revived" burst from its dead status?

Yes, I was the one who took BURST over when it was 'dead', and now doing the same thing for QORA.

I'm in active communication with the dev team, and I'll get more information from them and let you all know here shortly.

Don't fear, we'll get it all handled.

I personally don't have any issues with my wallet, and the person asking for coin above, I'll send you some from my upstairs computer in a few. Thanks!

But I have been told that there are a few issues that are being worked on now, though it seems poloniex is still forging most of the blocks, so how is this possible if they aren't sync'd... that's my question.
