I think that is not a bad idea to invest in mining.While Ethereum is the champion in profitability the next best thing actually with the newer RTX 3000 and RX 6000 series is the Ravencoin.Right now this coin is very little in value at about 0.057 USD for a coin and it is a good idea to keep them when the next bull run will come.I plan to extend my 300 Mhsh mining rig with one RTX 3080 or RTX 3090 and to keep it at 400 Mhsh-420 Mhsh as things are going ok for now.Also the price of Ethereum hopefully will increase over time and in the year end we hope to see the next bull run and make some profit.
If coins price is 0.0001$ it doesnt mean it is cheap or expensive.RVN has 21billion supply. it is better look ATH and ATL prices. RVN ATH=0.28$ and ATL=0.0087$. If RVN coins goes to 0.01$ it means cheap for me and i can buy it.0.15$ is also good price for now. |

So as you can tell ETH was most profitable actually in early 2016 because back then the difficulty was much lower than it is today. And it was also much earlier to source GPUs. You could of bought a second hand R9 280X for like $100 and that hashed at like 22MH/s and pulled 200 Watts. Now cards are more expensive, but only slightly faster and consume maybe half. However the profitability was much better back then that it is today. 22MH @200watt sucks mate, I will never invest money on such cards, why not gtx1060? This card can do 22MH @ 80watts which is still fair enough than that R9 280X, even if your electricity bill is cheap build reasonable rigs He is talking about 5 years ago. 22mhs-30mhs was very good hashrate for cards at that time. Imagine it is like 3080-3090 right now  |

im getting 12-12.5mhs with rx470 4g. with settings 1150core 2000 memory 900mv powlim -20. Also dont forget switch wattman to fast memory timings. Also rxboost will add more extra speed. you can get with amdmemtweak.
14Mhs i dont recommend because you will use alot wattage and make gpus hot.
With 900mv you can go higher with your core clock and you get more hashrate. rxboost will not help to get more hashrate. powlim -20 bring also nothing. 13mh is the sweet spot in my opinion. I'm using 5x rx570 to mine ergo coins for day but I decide to switch to ravencoin and this guys are giving me 10mh each how can I get closer to 14mh cos that's what I'm seeing online for rx570 each, what am I doing wrong?
What miner your are using? You must use Teamredminer to the best hashrates. Yes im using teamred for RVN. I tried core at 1200 hashrate did not changed so i kept 1150. I also thought memory speed dont make difference in rvn but i saw huge difference when you apply memory timing and rxboost. -20powlim is for not getting cards use wattage to much, i dont why sometimes when you mine rvn it jumps to 13-14mhs and goes back to 12mhs while this happens it uses alot and gets hot so -20 prevents it from doing that. |

And usually within a couple of weeks I Would sell that GPU to someone else for $100-$125. When it comes to unprofitable ASICs its different. There are $20 old Antminers out there. However cheap GPUS? I don't think so. Even now if you look into short period of time i see good drop in prices, not my target but still trend going down. every month i write down prices for gpus. in my area 3070 dropped price from 2000$ to 1200$. It all looks to BTC price. Once we enter BTC 20k-28k range you will see better prices than july, especially when eth saying about London update. And if BTC recovers over 40k what do you think will happen? ETH will be out of picture in August max but other coins will take the lead so GPU price might surge again unless there is more supply, the reason why GPU price are fair lately is china Then it means i was wrong if BTC closes weekly above 40.5k and again all will be expensive again which good im wrong because bull continues and we live happy little more . Good plan is : 1st mining best profitable coin. 2nd : Follow BTC dominance graph on weekly chart is very important. If you seeing dominance going to uptrend then it is better convert your assets to BTC and hodl until it starts go to down trend it means it is time convert your BTC into altcoins. What will you do if rvn goes to 0.01$ you will lose 5X. But BTC will not go so low like 5X max 2.5X. Later you can buy for same amount of RVN more RVN |

It was in my area where rx 470-480-570-580 come down to 80-130$ range, and also i got 10 rx 480 8gb from ebay for 600$+34$ for shipping (it was 2020 around march or april).yes it was used but in good shape. and i saw gtx 1080ti were 300-450$ range. 1660S was 200-300 Range. have you checked whether your card is ok? what about the power, is it sufficient to power up all of your cards? as one last resort, maybe try to clean the slot itself just in case there's some dust there.
Yeah all these cards should be brand new unused, also I'm only using one card at the moment so the power shouldn't be an issue (1000W+ psu). If it's any extra help, when I plug in all 11 cards, they all come up red, despite everything being new. That why I think its a general problem rather than one specific to a card or riser. 1000W for 11 cards is not enough. what cards do you have? Simple way is adding 1 card at the time will help in most cases. Bring bios to default then try again adding 1 by 1. i have 2 asus b250 running them with 1200w + 1400w server psu. no problem at all. Once i had red slot then i changed riser problem resolved. |

Im telling you guys again memory chips are plastic so there will be no big difference it is better change with quality high W thermal pads. Copper pads for metal chips.
It will be good solution if memory chips were metal like cpu or crystal like gpu itself.

Coins like ravencoin and ergo will be worthless once bitcoin goes below 20,000+, think it's impossible? Look at the current market movement and you will see, I'd say keep mining ETH for now and start swapping them for USDT or other stable coins, you will appreciate you did
If you dont need money then dont sell. Hodl for long period. Why not sell because BTC ATH was 65K now 29.5K it is cheap now to sell.ETH ATH was 4.2k now 1.7k it is also cheap.Yes it can go even more down but it is good opportunity to buy. Remember the history when BTC was 6k people bought at 6k and then dump to 3.2k many sold and lost money. people who has patient did not lost anything. And is pretty easy to do backward, when you already know the actual price.....
But what is really needed is to go forward not backward.
In that sense, with mining you risk less as the GPUs may decrease in price but never to 0.Instead that may happen when purchasing coins
im not expert but lately i started following market and learn it. Past is very important to learn lessons. I found out just following BTC weekly chart every monday let me see very clear. You only need follow every monday once weekly chart of BTC thats it. In 2018 people made me afraid that ltc will go to zero, now im not following news because news are manupulative and they lie. Your best friend is your weekly chart. And also i found out BTC dominance chart which tells you when go to altcoins and go back to BTC. |
