881  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Higher GPU fan RPM w/ lower temp OR higher temp with lower fan? on: February 14, 2021, 07:31:26 AM
I do the simple math, which is more likely to fail and which is more expensive to fix.I'll sacrifice the fan to save the GPU.

I still have a GTX980 blower that runs at 80C with the fan at 100% and has been doing so since I bought it the day
it was released 7 years ago. None of my other crads run that hot but I still run the fan higher to keep the temp lower
than the default profile does. I've had no fan failures so far, just one sticky one from dirt.
i just imagine the sound of gtx980 blower style at 100% Smiley
882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: how many GPUs will this board support for mining ? on: February 14, 2021, 07:24:51 AM
You can also try 1-4 plex adapter that goes in a slot and provides connection to 4 risers.  Again limited by chipset and pcie lanes but they work i have several different models in use..Cheapest easiet to try

https://www.amazon.com/YIYIYI-Expansion-Converter-Adatper-Bitcoin/dp/B08TWBDNPP/ref=sr_1_2?crid=QKC3S6X4DAOH&dchild=1&keywords=1+to+4+pcie+riser&qid=1613223604&sprefix=1-4+pcie%2Caps%2C191&sr=8-2
I don't know how they build this thing but are you sure using it in one PCIe slot won't do any damage? Drawing watts across over two GPUs in a single pcie slot don't sound safe to me
it is totally safe it doesnt power draw from it thats why risers has 6pin(molex,sata) power in, im using one of these on gigabyte h110-d3a working fine 8gpus
883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is H470 HD3 motherboard readable for cryptomining? on: February 14, 2021, 07:19:37 AM
Hello guys, I bought a motherboard h470 hd3 with 6 pci and 2 m.2 inputs.
I'm having serious difficulties in connecting 5 x 3060 ti, when I put the Riser in the first pci x16 slot the machine is very slow locking even when loading the bios.
I updated the motherboard bios, "above 4g decoding" enabled.

Could it be that this motherboard is not compatible with cryptomining?

I am 2 days trying all the possibilities still without success, I hope someone can help, thanks.
adjust all speed to gen 2 or gen 1 from bios. if you have onboard vga switch to onboard.
884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: More Epochs mod v1.7 for Claymore ETH miner 15. Epochs 385+ work. New Version. on: February 13, 2021, 11:20:55 AM
New Version just released!

More Epochs mod v1.7 for Claymore Eth Miner v15

Changelog:

~ now miner shows AMD GPUs power draw stats on newer AMD drivers (tested with 20.12.1)

Sounds great, doest it work with straps too? Could you please test with -strap command. will be really nice to use it again.

I'll get Polaris Gpu soon, so I will be able to test straps with newer drivers.
ok thanks. waiting forward
885  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: how many GPUs will this board support for mining ? on: February 13, 2021, 11:19:22 AM
i have little brother of that msi x79 with 3930k, im not able test 5 or 6 gpus because i dont have any space left on my desk. this is my working pc. 4 gpus are working fine so far. Main gpu on 1st 16x slot i need it because these guys dont have onboard vga. rest 3 gpus connected via risers. works no issue.
886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best option? 2 little psu or one big on: February 13, 2021, 11:09:32 AM
Hi guys,

Just bought 3 more 3070 (impossible as you know to buy 3080 or 3060ti- at least in my country), so my second rig will have 6 rtx 3070. The problem comes with psu (almost no stock of +1000W anywhere), so I don't know if it would be a good idea to buy a 1200w for 350€ or btter connect 2 700W psu with a cable like this:

https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B0788KTZPC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Hope you can helpe me Smiley

Thanks

i prefer for 3-6 gpus only 1 PSU.

I just tried PM to Ethermine today, been mining about 2 hours.

As I look through the log, it seems that DEVFEE is having problems,

Is devfee harmless here or is it causing a problem.  I should NOT see the word DEVFEE for 30 I dont think.

RX 6800 Phoenixminer mining renders Windows 10 unresponsive?!?

I have just gotten a new XFX 6800 card and wanted to put it to good use, so I downvolted/reduced GPU freq/boosted the ram freq and I hit 63 MH (oh my, for a card like this #eyeroll) right off the bat, but as soon as the card starts mining, Windows become quite unresponsive (dragging a window causes a 1s freeze, etc.) I used to mine with my old RX570 and using the exact same machine + the exact same (three) monitors, the miner didn't slow down Windows AT ALL. But with 6800, mining renders the machine basically useless for normal work, which leaves me completely confused about what could cause such a difference in Windows responsiveness (with that much better a graphic card) and more importantly, how can I fix this? Thank yo in advance
if you go 1-2 pages back you will find your answer

how many cards? Try give 50-60gb

6 gpu in each rig.

how to increase?
 i have 16000 to 32000

i must type it in advanced settings?
yes in advanced settings-custom size make minimum 60000 and max also 60000. 1st try 50000 if it is ok then use it.

Hi guys, which program are you using for tweaking of rx 6800?
Thanks

I receive my rx6800 tomorrow
It would be a pleasure to share information about the configuration and other matters.
I'm going to mount it on in rig amd full:
Asus Rog Strix x570-E Gaming.
Ryzen 9 3950x 4.7GHz
Corsair iCUE H115i rgb PRO XT
Alpha AMD DDR4-3200
AsRock RX-6800 PHANTOM Gaming D OC
I already have SAM activated to test if it runs at + 80MH / s

Hi, I have alredy rx 6800 and i never reach more then 60 Mhs, what about u?
Guys can u help me someone, always if I start my Phoenix Miner then my windows system start lagging, it is really anoying, I never had this experience with previous 5700 mining...
yes there must be command -mi . you can set it lower 10 or 9. default is 12. test it. maybe you will loose some hasrate but your pc will not lag.
894  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Rejected shares rising in number on: February 12, 2021, 10:58:01 AM
Are you using any RX GPUs? For years I had issues where they would mine fine for a few days, then all of a sudden some GPU starts getting rejected shares. It would keep going up to like 10% rejected and the only way to fix was to reboot the rig. Usually fixed the issue. No idea why it happened because it would mine for days without rejected shares and then all of a sudden get rejected shares. I tried reducing memory clock or increasing voltages but it didn't seem to help.

So just keep rebooting and should fix the issue. If its a problem with the pool then obviously its not your GPUs fault and you just need to switch pools or wait for them to get it fixed. My advice is just use a miner like PhoenixMiner and use a pool like ethermine. There are guides on how you can easily get paid directly. Nicehash is great but there are issues from time to time.
This issue has nothing to do with memory clock or core voltage, I'm sure it's the pool that sucks, even if temp is too high it won't affect shares unless you overclock too high, the solution is to switch to another mining pool
i agree with you.
I had same issue then i changed pool to ethermine with same settings 0% rejects. it is not always memory or something you need test it in other pools to see. 24 hours and no rejects at all on ethermine. maybe sometimes just 1 share can be rejected.
Nicehash has trouble right now because they cant handle so many miners are mining. they need new servers more power.
895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: *Help guy's* on: February 12, 2021, 10:50:43 AM
if you need help 1st write clear information about gear os more as you can write it.
if you having crash problems it is usually too much OC. keep your cards at stock and see if it stable.if no then test your card 1 by 1 on 16x slot to be sure that gpu are fine and operational, after you are sure that your all 4 gpus are just fine then next step with risers. keep adding 1 by 1 gpu and test it. this way you can understand whats wrong.
Crash = OC, riser, psu, windows update, bad gpu with wrong bios or just some dead memory.
896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Just a curiosity on: February 12, 2021, 10:34:39 AM
What will happen to Ethereum proof of work if asic miners are banished? Will the mining profitability reduce marginally or it won't affect the ROI? Are higher Hashrates better or not? Wil it affect Ethereum value ?
Do you like to fantasize?
That will not happen. Ethereum wants to quickly switch to the new POS algorithm and they will not change the current algorithm for mining.
So POW and POS algorithm will both exists on Ethereum blockchain? Where did you get this information from or you just guess things out on your own without official announcement? Anyway I pray it will be so honestly it's what I hope for, POW algo need to keep existing on Ethereum blockchain
what i have learnt after final phase there will be no more mining ethereum only POS. Buterin dont like idea that mining! because it is waste alot of heat bla bla bla. they dont even think how much just 1 car gives heat to atmosphere. And yet they driving thousand miles millions miles billion miles every day if you take all cars on planet.
