You should be fine, update the bios to the lastest if all the PCIe slits don't work and make sure you use risers to power the graphic cards to get better cooling temperature, drop your feed back when you set things up and running

thanks a lot EVERYONE for the encouraging start Cheesy

- yes i have 2x Xeons AMOF i have all components since those were my production servers for years but now am into mining, also they have 192 GB RAM, mmmm, can those RAM be utilized for mining somehow Huh

- dont worry boys i probably wont use the CPUs for mining...

- ya bios akready udadated to pretty much latest as ive been using them for few years,,,

will keep u posted, but first we need to get some decent damn Graphics Cards to start mining, Geeeeez....
Ram does not effect for gpu mining but in cpu mining it does, not amount of ram you need, speed of ram makes difference in cpu mining
922  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Desperate situation with my rig, can't see any solution!! on: February 04, 2021, 07:34:25 PM
it looks like driver crash. make fresh windows install then look for good drivers for mining. turn of all updates for windows and defender. then try again without oc see if it is stable.
and 1 more option is download hiveos and try it to see if its crashes again, you can run it from usb.
923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Old gen core series works for mining? on: February 04, 2021, 07:28:25 PM
yep works fine i have x58 with i7 920 still working with no issue but i cant install 5gpu, it doesnt boot with 5, but with 4 gpus no problem.
It should work with 5 gpu if 5 pcie slots are available, I have a core i7 920 too but with asus motherboard and it has five pcie slots, I was able to run 5 RX580 8gb with 1200watt power supply on the motherboard, I suggest you upgrade the BIOS to the lastest
no it is not bios. looks like mine is parallel connected with 1x slot i guess. some mobos doing that Sad it has 3 16x and 2 1x slots
924  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: server motherboards for mining rigs on: February 04, 2021, 03:31:52 PM
looks compatible with regular psu it has 24pin and 2 8pins for cpu.you need get good psu for this 2 xeon will draw alot power if you plan mining on cpus too. it says you have to use 2 cpus to enable all pcie slots.

can you test your rig  with same settings on ethermine.org then show results?
928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it possible that watts draw follows Temp? on: February 03, 2021, 03:08:23 PM
i know it from transistor behavior,i do alot electronic circuits. when transistor gets hot then resistance increase so effeciency decrease. to keep same transistor you spend more energy to keep it working.thats why all board consumes more energy. transistor gets very bad effeciency after 90c reached.
929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 5.5c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux) on: February 03, 2021, 03:02:14 PM
Hi guys,

I'm starting my mining rig, and I got my hands on a RX 480 8gb doing 26,25 MH/s @ 94W, using -gt 68, and the following settings on MSI Afterburner:

- Core voltage: -43 (1081 mV)
- Power limit: -15
- Core clock: 1140 MHz
- Memory clock: 2115 MHz

Temperature <60º

Did I reached the maximum without BIOS modding the GPU? Or how can I maybe improve that?
Yes you can get more add -mt 1 or -mt 2 and add -rxboost 1.better start with mt1. you can go down core voltage to 900mv for better power consumption and less heat. without mod rx480 will give you 30mhs.

As I run as administrator, phoenix miner just shut down automatically, what could that be?
Share your bat file.
if it is shut down just double click and see what happens.

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

PhoenixMiner.exe -pool ssl://eu1.ethermine.org:5555 -pool2 ssl://us1.ethermine.org:5555 -wal XXX -proto 3 -tstop 67 -tstart 55 -mt 1 -vmr 25 -log 1
pause

I manage to run as administrator, and found the vmr value of 25, but no hashrate improves so far
ok last thing left to do reset afterburner or unistall it then give -cclock 1150 -cvddc 950 -mclock 2100 -mvddc 950. 950 mv is high ofcoruse just test then you can decrease it, if this not helps then only modding bios left. what is your driver version?

933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Shares rejected in phoenix miner on: February 01, 2021, 08:10:48 PM
there is too many reason for rejected shares
OC
pool
bad internet
even bad riser.
as long as it is below 2% it is fine. it is better 0%. Ethermine.org very clean 0% rejects.
934  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 5.5c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux) on: February 01, 2021, 02:52:23 PM
Hello,
here is a weird question, is it possible to set the GPU-s to farm on different pools/address-es in a SINGLE .bat file?
For example, mine 3 GPU-s on Address A and other 3 on Address B, but in a single .bat file. How would it look like if yes?
Because for weird reasons sometimes the second .bat file does not run on windows Start, so it's too much of a random chance, so i would like to have it in a single .bat if possible.

Greetings
no you cant, phoenix doesn have that option. you can copy whole folder then try
935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any recommended guide to build a 6-rig GPU for a 1st time beginner? on: February 01, 2021, 06:51:47 AM
it is not good time to build a rig because price are too high, if you can find with good price get rtx 3060ti or rtx 3080 go ahead it will be easy with nvidia to begin.
for mobo any cheap ones are good tb250,h110 with celeron cpu, if you will use windows then get 8g ram and cheap ssd 120g. for psu get good one it is very important like evga 1200-1600w it depends what gpu you have

Hello.
How about the error clsetkernelarg -48?
It happens only in my RX 580 Rig and im forced to use -clkernel 0 to use the miner, BUT im loosing 1mhs per GPU and im not stable (total hashrate running from 88 to 93).
And in final, im having a big difference from what i see on the miner and what pool is reporting, about steel shares.
The pool report much more steel shares that miner don't show.
Im using 5.5c version. The problem is born 2 days ago...

Second question:

How can i configure file batch of a 6 gpus rig for use GPU 1-2-3 to mine on wallet A and 4-5-6 to wallet B?
So many people reporting this.
Whats your virtual memory? 16000-64.000
Driver version? 20.5.1 /20.4.2
Did windows updated recently? nope - is blocked from services.msc
You can creat 2 bat files add 1 bat file -gpus 1,2,3 second bat file -gpus 4,5,6 you may want add -cdm 0 because you will get warning about monitor port but it doesnt importand it is just warning that port will not be availabe for monitoring. - thanks dude
update drivers to 20.11.1 or look what phoenix says on last post.20.4.2 was good with 5.1c if im not mistaken.and also make memory 64000-64000.
So people please look here and dont post that error again clsetkernelarg -48.

you asked here for you:
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813145153

it is for intel and nearly similar to this one for 3499$ Smiley

32-Phases 1600A IR All Digital VRM Solution with PowIRstage it is monster
938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AC cooling option a good one? on: January 31, 2021, 06:18:34 PM
It depends on your electricity, air conditioner only makes sense to me if you have free electricity to power it, I believe a AC draws up to 1500watts, that's way too much for a mining farm, it's better to go with other options like fans that consumes very low wattage
Yes it matter if you paying 0.1$ for 1kw. in my case it is not free but almost free. in my country 1kw is 0.0007$ so i dont even calculate electric bill. i use air conditioning and very effective and no dust.

Hi,

Im thiniking about mining ETH.

Can I still mine it with this gpu: 8GB ASRock Radeon RX 570 Phantom Gaming?

minerstat.com says that there could be a problem with dag size.

Yes you can, dag size problem for 4g cards
