So basically, as long as you like what you see, it just has to be right. Gotcha!

I will never understand how one can even use it. It can be easily manipulated. Worthless data. Period.

The nodes are infinitely more reliable than that, because despite light clients taking hold, there should probably not be a DECREASE in the long-term as we see it now. Some of the alternative client devs have published numbers, and they are ridiculously low: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=76528.msg849506#msg849506
2783  Economy / Speculation / Re: Total Output chart and Transactions Per-Day on: April 17, 2012, 10:20:51 AM
While these numbers can be fabricated, these look authentic
Huh Huh Huh

I will never trust the transaction data. It’s completely meaningless because it can and will be manipulated.
2784  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Magic 8 Ball thread on: April 15, 2012, 12:44:59 AM
so ppl are you ready ? i closed my shorts ( Shocked ) this can be 19/12/2011 all over again
Has the Bitcoinica gambling gained you any money, net?
2785  Other / Politics & Society / Re: usury = not cool on: April 15, 2012, 12:29:44 AM
Hgh interest rates in Bitcoin are mainly due to high credit risk and currency risk. I’m sure they will decrease with time.
2786  Economy / Securities / Re: [ANNOUNCE GLBSE] Pirate Pass Through Bonds on: April 14, 2012, 12:00:19 AM
Awesome, I hoped to see this happen. Grin Good on you guys!

I am satisfied and will reconsider my bond on Sunday.
2787  Other / Politics & Society / Re: No, you can't have both parents working full-time and still "raise" children. on: April 13, 2012, 09:28:32 PM
The fact is in a reasonable economy, we should only need one parent working, period, man or woman. We were a first-world country at one point but now we are degrading to where we have whole families working to just sustain.

Wow.  This is amazing.  Atlas says something I fully agree with.
Same for me. What’s going on here? Shocked
2788  Economy / Speculation / Re: invisible wall at 4,89 ? on: April 13, 2012, 08:09:09 PM
Do you need your own forum or why do you feel the need to create a new thread for every thought you have? Huh

Also, what invisible wall?
2789  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Bitcoin Dilemma: Can the Internet be shutdown? on: April 11, 2012, 02:55:07 AM
This thread smells like Atlas.
Funny you say that, my Atlas Detector immediately started peeping as well.
2790  Economy / Speculation / Re: wow, bitcoin's astro birth chart is full on! on: April 10, 2012, 09:09:03 PM
Eliot Dave analysis would make a valuable addition to this thread.

I didn't have time to check all the rules, but this should be a good enough Eliot Dave analysis to make money off of:

Happy trading everyone!
Forecast is fully on track.
2791  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Evidence for Goat lying on his TyGrr-Bank operation? on: April 10, 2012, 06:03:06 PM
Pirate overpaid in the sense that he sent the interest payment to the withdrawal address as well as added it to the bank’s balance for accounting reasons, as should be evident from the explanations here and his thread.

BTW do you understand what "above 2000" means?
I do. Do you understand the context he said it in (why 2000), and the other quote? I believe that if there is one of us who posts before he reads, it must be you.

I’ll be out of this thread now, it was meant for informational purpose to the public he gathers investments from.
2792  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Evidence for Goat lying on his TyGrr-Bank operation? on: April 10, 2012, 05:55:30 PM
OP:

Can you clearly state when/where did Goat die? Pirate confirmed at (02:42:08 PM) that it was an overpayment, still an hour later (03:51:36 PM) you had posted this topic?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=50822.msg844669#msg844669

I also expect your apologies for your inability to read.

I actually expect yours now, as well as for the cowardly deletion of your posting. Smiley
2793  Economy / Trading Discussion / Evidence for Goat lying on his TyGrr-Bank operation? on: April 10, 2012, 03:51:36 PM
So, it seems that Goat just revealed his balance at Bitcoin Savings & Trust:

Note: Payments paid yesterday where added to your account (regardless if you are reinvested) just for record purposes while we switched over.  They'll be removed so don't go spending them. Smiley

Looks awesome but I think you over paid me 285.97519541 BTC  :/   Can you double check that?  Thanks.

We can calculate his balance from the interest payment 285.97519541 / 0.07 = 4 085.35993 BTC.

As most people know, he runs TyGrr-Bank which promises 3% weekly dividends. The issue here is that Goat made explicit statements in his threads that he is not going to invest further into Pirate’s bank (bold emphasis mine):

It is no secret I have money in Pirates bank account. However I am doing this TyGrr-Bank to keep me from having to withdraw too much of my savings. I'm not adding to that account, just trying to keep it level. I do not think this violates the rules but if it does Pirate will let me know. He will notice it is going down today sadly.
Notice how he says he will not add to his bank account, the balance of which he reveals later on:

p.s. My balance in Pirate bank is just now around 1800, I pulled out over 500 to make a payment. My long term goal is to keep this at or above 2000 due to his new payment rules.
This does not sound like he will be adding anything later on either.

So, as of now he has over 4k there and even with 2k he only would have gained a balance of 2.68k.

The question is, did the difference come from TyGrr-Bank shareholders? I want to put that up to discussion, because if this is true, he must have lied.
2794  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE - TOS Discussion Thread. on: April 10, 2012, 02:10:49 AM
Can a mod split this? It’s a really interesting discussion, and I want to continue. Reporting my post now.

1. At first, I agreed with you, but now I see how GLBSE makes price discovery and liquidity for shareholders possible. In giga’s case, his OTC sold bonds were clearly underpriced, and shareholders can already dump 1k or so into bids. It also makes dividend payment to lots of people easy.
2. Silk Road model will fail for GLBSE because anonymous asset issuers cannot be trusted for bigger/long-term operations. You spend 5 BTC on some weed vs. a few thousand on a shady venture. Guess which one will be more prone to scams?
3. You personally are not anonymous and law enforcement would own you regardless of TOR.

But do try this out, I want to see the range of scams it would attract and how you would deal with them.
2795  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE - TOS Discussion Thread. on: April 10, 2012, 01:48:01 AM

Yeah...

I will get out as soon as I can :/    I'm shocked so far the response I've gotten about setting up a new exchange. For everyone asking I'm going to quickly set up something for what I am operating now. But sooner or later something will be operational over tor. 100% anon, 100% regulation free. If there is anyone who can help me make this let me know. My team is backed up with other projects right now. Thanks.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=75682.msg838527
That server is located in the US as well.

Go ahead and try setting up an anoymous stock market over TOR and see how it will degrade into a cesspool for scammers because asset issuers cannot be trusted. Maybe you can convince the Silk Road owner to help you out. Grin

edit: Sorry for offtopic, could not resist.
2796  Other / Meta / Re: Members hiding online status on: April 10, 2012, 12:22:02 AM
I do business with people on the forums, and my online status changes nothing about that.

Let me suggest you seek another forum that will support your fascist leanings and control disorder to disable individual privacy.

Also, this:

Why would I want people to know I'm online? People will PM, I'll realize they know I'm on, then suddenly log out and pretend I'm not there while I read the PM via email to see if I feel like responding to it immediately or continue pretending I'm napping/in town/on vacation/deathly ill/etc.

2798  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Two-factor authentication and GLBSE on: April 08, 2012, 08:12:23 AM
I just tried it out together with copumpkin, and indeed during signup it will not show the codes if you select any of the checkboxes for 2-factor auth. Then, when you go to settings, it will assume you have 2-factor set up already and you are locked. If you just do it via settings, it will work fine, though.

The solution is probably to reset the settings from people who have signed up recently and are affected by this (and of course to fix the bug).
2799  Economy / Speculation / Interest Indicator on Bitcoinica – Epic Short Squeeze? on: April 08, 2012, 07:28:38 AM
I’ve made the experience that it has been pretty reliable to bet against the shorts when short interest was at its lowest – at the time -0.06 to -0.09, just as it has been reliable to bet against longs when the long interest was -0.21.

Now, the shorts are even heavier penalized than longs with -0.16. I have never seen it remotely this low. Are we looking at an epic short squeeze to happen?
