1521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New Miner - Power Consumption Question / Advice on: August 16, 2017, 11:19:11 PM
There is a way to get afterburner to unlock the settings and give you more flexibility than stock. A quick google search will show you how to unlock it.
1522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why is ETH mining more profitable on AMD cards? on: August 16, 2017, 11:14:32 PM
I've seen folks quote specific 1070s at 32-33 Mhash, but they also quote memory overclocks my specific models have never managed.

I have 18 Asus Dual GTX 1070s hashing for me right now. I can get all of them except 2 to break 32mh but they only seem to run about 72 hours at that speed before crashing. At 29mh they are rock solid and run for weeks on end. (stock clocks they only do 26)

1523  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Need suggestions for a first time setup on: August 16, 2017, 04:39:17 PM
Miners are industrial equipment and are not designed to be run in a living space. If you have concerns with heat and noise you should not bother buying anything as any miner that can make you any money will be loud and hot.
1524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My first Eth rig.. but w/ POS too late? :/ on: August 15, 2017, 10:04:14 PM
1. PoS is a long ways off. It really shouldnt factor into building a rig. PoS should be synonymous with FUD at this point. Even when it is first implimented only 1 out of 100 blocks will be PoS. They dont even know if it will work yet.

2. Personally I would recommend another mining distro like PiMP as it supports 15+ algos right out of the box versus ethOS which is much more limited.
1525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash vs Buying Coins vs Mining on: August 15, 2017, 09:24:44 PM
If you want to maximize profits, nicehash is not the way to go. No profit switching algo is really worth it, you are always chasing coin and if you dont immediately cash out as you mine it, you are never going to hit the profits you think, plus you lose so much switching algos all day long as well as the previous poster mentioned as far as the OC settings go.
1526  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Any asic miner that cost less than $100 on: August 15, 2017, 05:14:20 PM
You will not find a miner for that price that will make you any money.
1527  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Server PSU to ATX Adapter? on: August 10, 2017, 09:24:42 PM
Look up Pico PSU adapter. It is what you are looking for.
1528  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S9 hardware errors + discarded ??? on: August 09, 2017, 11:03:37 PM
Please tell me that's not really 30k fan speed!?

I have had S9s report crazy fan speeds since I started with them. It is for sure not spinning at anything over 6000rpm as that is the limit of the motor.
1529  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ATX vs server psu's price on: August 09, 2017, 06:39:08 PM
the first one you list has no model name to look at. The other two are pretty standard refurbished power supplies. I have used hundreds of them over the last few years and they are reliable. Personally I go for 94% efficiency on my PSUs but those arent bad at 90% and will work well. One thing to note is those tiny fans spin at very high RPM and can be quite loud at full tilt
1530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer D3 electrical setup help on: August 09, 2017, 05:18:39 PM
You will need to run things at 220 to get the proper power out of the PSUs. These machines pull 1200w each so you will need to upgrade your electrical if you are running them at home. You are looking at 10k watts in total which is a lot of power to run in a home. Also you will need some major cooling if you are planning on keeping these in one bedroom.

Also remember its not about the number of plugs in the room its about the number  of circuits. Most houses have multiple outlets off of the same breaker so you need to plan accordingly.
1531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1 card on multi card rig drops off after a couple mins of mining on: August 09, 2017, 04:23:36 PM
Have you tried disconnecting all of the other cards and just mining on the one you suspect has issues? That would be my first troubleshooting step.
1532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Waves - Full Node on: August 08, 2017, 04:56:14 PM

1533  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: "BITMAIN Order Shipped" - Happy early birthday to me! :) Activity at Bitmain... on: August 08, 2017, 04:09:54 PM
Now that bitmain has a facility in California maybe they are able to ship small batch orders stateside now?
1534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASrock H110 Pro BTC+ 13 GPU Board on: August 08, 2017, 03:58:08 PM
How is 13 GPUs not enough? All you are trying to do is add another failure point to the setup. Not worth all the extra problems over 1 card....
1535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Could someone confirm my GPU wiring please on: August 07, 2017, 11:17:10 PM
It sounds like you have a bad PSU. A 650w PSU functioning normally can run 2 of your video cards with no problems. It sounds like there is either a short in one of the video cards causing it to fail or the PSU itself is the problem.

Also, the Molex to Sata 'problems' that people on this forum warn about are non existent. As long as you only plug in 2 risers per chain on the PSU you will be fine. They wont burn up unless you overload the 12v wire powering the chain of SATA plugs. I have literally THOUSANDS of molex to sata connectors powering graphics cards without ever once having a single failure on the adapter line.
1536  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Electrical Question Please on: August 07, 2017, 09:54:49 PM
watts = amp x voltage

600 amp @ 208v is just a hair under 125kw. Id say you can safely run 100 1kw miners. Dont forget you will need ventilation and other things also on that same power to make it work. More than just a few switches and whatnot.
1537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: is 76c to hot for a rx480 how can i lower sia coin hash rate for cooler performa on: August 07, 2017, 09:52:34 PM
Thats warm but in acceptable limits. I believe the stock firmware doesnt throttle until you hit 90c
1538  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Spoondoolies SP30 Firmware troubles on: August 07, 2017, 09:52:02 PM
the SP30 was known for its memory chip failing, you might have to run it full time off the SD card.
1539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: can i put any addy the Sia Ui gives me on: August 07, 2017, 09:40:37 PM
You are trying to 'receive tokens'. The wallet thinks you are expecting someone to send you Sia directly and it creates a new address so that you can separate and track transactions by having a unique incoming address that is still tied to your main wallet. You dont need any of those if you are just mining. Stick with just one wallet address to mine to, the others are throwaways you dont actually need for anything.
1540  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: first bitmain antminer S10 speculation thread (probably) on: August 07, 2017, 09:35:28 PM
No. This is one of those junk threads started by someone that doesnt understand how the industry works.
