1381  Other / Meta / BEWARE - Accounts spamming a whatsapp contact on: September 21, 2017, 04:49:29 PM
There are at least 2 accounts I have noticed that have been spamming the boards with the same whatsapp contact number claiming this is where they bought hardware. Until the mods catch on and ban these guys please be careful and dont fall for their game. Every post from both accounts says the same thing over and over.

1382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Owners of GTX 1070 how many eth u mine with 6 gpu per month on: September 21, 2017, 03:27:04 PM
Just remember its only worth chasing max profitability if you sell your coins immediately. If you are planning on holding go with something stable.
1383  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Question on Mining with Avalon 6 miners - AUC & cord on: September 20, 2017, 11:48:19 PM
How many AUC adapters are you looking for?

I might know a guy.

I know that pimps next release will attempt to have a unified logging structure to see what exactly is going on but for right now you have to make do with claymores logging. For the fan issues, make sure you have nothing set in the claymore config file if you want the fans t obe managed by the json settings. A lot of people miss that and leave the claymore settings in which conflict with the system settings.
1385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help, issue with 5 1080ti on MSI Z270 SLI PLUS on: September 20, 2017, 05:57:45 PM
MSI boards are known for being just about the worst board you can try to mine on. I dont even offer people support if they are mining on MSI boards, its just a bad idea. You really should try running linux instead. It is just so much more stable.

Also, set all of the cards back to FULLY stock settings. Get things stable before you mess with Afterburner.
1386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: browser mining on: September 20, 2017, 05:53:27 PM
The pirate bay already abused its users by covertly running a monero miner at 100 percent CPU power. If they had revealed that they wanted to move to a browser mining funded model there would be no problem.

If you guys would go and read why they did it and what happened with the 100% mining rather than just claiming they are trying to do you dirty you might understand a bit more. All these click bait headlines claiming it was done nefariously is such bullshit.

The 100% usage was a mistake, it is now set to 30% cpu usage and only on one tab no matter how many tabs you have open. They publicly posted about this and asked for feedback yet everyone is running around saying they are just trying to steal your CPU cycles for their gain. They are TESTING this as an alternative to ad revenue.

They also explicitly state that current gen adblockers will stop this from happening if you dont want to participate.
1387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Troubleshooting OC & Stability on: September 20, 2017, 05:46:18 PM
First things first, since hardware quality varies card to card there is no exact science other than testing as you said. If you have a large enough farm you can go with some very conservative clocks and see how everything reacts.

As far as longs or finding out problems you havent even mentioned which miner or OS you are using. Nobody will be able to answer your questions without a few more specifics.
1388  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain purchase with wire transfer expired - scam or not? on: September 20, 2017, 05:34:25 PM
People throw the word 'scam' around on these forums so much more than they ever should. If something doesnt go their way immediately everyone screams scam like its going out of style

The reality is Bitmain is far and away the largest miner manufacturer in the world but their customer service lags. They arent out to get you, they are just disorganized on the support side.
1389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Runnng PoS & Masternodes with Single Board coputers on: September 20, 2017, 05:32:03 PM
My thoughts are that this has nothing to do with bitcoin and shouldnt be posted in this section.
1390  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Question on Mining with Avalon 6 miners - AUC & cord on: September 20, 2017, 04:25:03 PM
Actually the AUC is a USB to I2C/SPI converter.

it is what converts the SPI signal into USB so the miner can talk to a controller

Isnt that what I said?

I mean I guess you could buy your own and try to run cgminer on its own that way but why go through all that hassle to half ass run the miner without any of the controls that the Avalon RPi image offers?
1391  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Question on Mining with Avalon 6 miners - AUC & cord on: September 20, 2017, 03:31:45 PM
You need the AUC no matter what as it is what converts the SPI signal into USB so the miner can talk to a controller of some sort. The cable is pretty standard you can just buy breadboard jumpers to use as the SPI cable but you will still need the AUC
1392  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Selling a reserved D3 account 10 miners w/ proof on: September 20, 2017, 03:20:47 PM
People like you screw over the people that actually want the hardware. I hope no one is dumb enough to buy this from you.
1393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore 5000 shares but none showing in wallet ? on: September 19, 2017, 09:33:30 PM
What pool have you been mining to? Is there a minimum payout threshold that you have not yet reached? 26mh only makes 0.169 ETH per month at current difficulty so you might just not have hit the minimum for a payout.
1394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: USB Bitcoin miners on a laptop? on: September 19, 2017, 09:14:00 PM
The latest Avalon is still USB connected.

Avalon uses USB to connect to its serial adapters, which has nothing to do with what he is talking about. To run an avalon you need an entire computer (aka raspberry pi) to control them.

OP: With your requirements you wont find anything profitable to run. It really isnt worth the effort if you are hoping for a return based on your limitations.
1395  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: USB miners on a laptop? on: September 19, 2017, 03:51:44 PM
I will try this on AntMiner S3 which now sells for under $100.
450Gh/s rate is not bad for this price and it can run out of one power outlet with any powersupply unit.
Hopefully I can mine tons of alt coins...and make some $$

Thanks for all guys!

Just remember that the efficiency on this unit is so poor you will lose money in most cases. It requires $0.04/kwh power just to break even mining BTC.
1396  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Shared-Power Mining (S7) on: September 19, 2017, 03:48:52 PM
No you can not mine to more than 1 pool at a time. It just doesnt work like that with the software that is available on the s7
1397  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: USB miners on a laptop? on: September 18, 2017, 06:44:17 PM
If you have a bit of a networking background you should be able to make your situation work. You can bridge your lan and wifi connections to provide connectivity to another device via the LAN port on your laptop. I actually do something similar at home to run an older computer I dont have a spare wifi card for.
1398  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 Help!!! I thinks it is a Board Problem on: September 18, 2017, 06:42:37 PM
The s9 has had reliability issues since day 1. If you look around these forums and in the main S9 thread you will see what I am talking about. Unfortunately there is not much to be done about it. Chances are its nothing you did, they are just prone to failure.
1399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: rig 6x gtx1070 mining eth+sia...help pls on: September 18, 2017, 06:01:21 PM
Your calculation of profit is kind of wrong. You put the hash rate for 6 overclocked cards into the calculator and only put 120w of power draw total. After power im seeing a profit of $268 at your reported speeds.
1400  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 Help!!! I thinks it is a Board Problem on: September 18, 2017, 04:49:34 PM
The first thing I would do is the basic troubleshooting if you have not. Swap the ports on the controller, try the bad boards cable into a port where one of the known working boards was. Confirm it still doesnt hash that way. If that is the case your only option really is bitmainwarranty. I know they do a lot of russian repairs and whatnot so I dont think they would have a problem working with an international customer.
