1641  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: [NEW] Looking for answers, please help. on: May 31, 2017, 05:16:04 PM
Do not solo mine.

http://solochance.com/

With 5 12.5th S9s you *might* hit 1 block in 550+ days not factoring luck into the equation.
1642  Bitcoin / Hardware / ~ on: May 30, 2017, 04:38:01 PM
Hey your the Computer Genius right?? You heard it folks!! Buy up those S9's,your guaranteed to be profitable!!!!!!!!!

You'll ROI in no time!! Diff will stop rising & the BTC price will hit $10,000 in a month or two!!!  Cheesy

Oh & don't let that 90 day warranty thing scare ya!! S9s are TANKS baby!! None have ever broke down & they can mine for 5 years no sweat  Grin

You really make yourself look bad with comments like this. Profitability is a conditional thing, just because you dont know how to make a profit doesnt mean other people are in the same boat. Do a little research.

A 12.5th S9 at $0.10/kwh power currently makes ~$250 in profit a month. At $0.16/kwh you are making ~$180. If you cant profit with an S9 you should seriously think about exiting the crypto mining space completely.

P.S. The s9 comes with a 180 day warranty and has for close to 6 months now....

Please post this in the altcoin section. This is for bitcoin support only.
1644  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Will you mine BIP 148 (UASF) chain or Legacy chain? on: May 30, 2017, 04:07:15 PM
UASF - user activated SOFT FORK

That means there is no chain split so your question is kind of invalid.
1645  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Legit bitcoin mining company on: May 30, 2017, 04:06:17 PM
They are not profitable at all. I have tried at least two of them untill now and both turned into unprofitable sites. They turn scam over the time because they are not able to bear the cost of electricity or equipment that they have at their end. Also send of them are just to make money by making others fool. So best way to earn is by doing real simple signature campaigns and Twitter campaigns and Facebook campaigns and much more. Also you can provide services in bitcoin form you will earn pretty decent money.

No, what happens is over time the difficulty rises and it eats into your profit until there is none left. Im pretty sure you have no clue how the whole system works. Also, best way to earn is to spam?
1646  Economy / Economics / Re: South Korea, the BTC pump and the household credit problem on: May 26, 2017, 06:48:34 PM
surely the primary reason for any premium is that it's a small market and hard, or impossible, for foreigners to get fiat in and out. you build a closed loop like that and it's always gonna go and do its own thing.

^^^^this

The capital controls and other factors such as the low exchange limits make it nearly impossible to move enough money to take advantage of the arbitrage. Also it seems the WON to USD conversions on the exchanges basically wipe out the arbitrage completely when you do the research.
1647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v12.5 (Windows/Linux) on: May 26, 2017, 05:52:14 PM
12.5 is a slap in the face  with a big F U to those saying he's not releasing new versions and to lower his fee

The only people that deserve a slap in the face are entitled people like you bitching about software you didnt code or pay up front for. If you dont like the devfee its really simple, dont use it. Dont expect him to remove the fee just because a few cheapskates are whining about it.
1648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [DIY]Cheap way to control 2 PSU in a rig on: May 26, 2017, 03:42:47 PM
Thats true, but at my place Internet goes down at random times and I have a Orange Pi shutting down the system when that happens so, control of the second PSU is needed in my case unfortunately.

Cant you just program the GPIO pins on the RPi to control the PSUs as well then?
1649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Temporarily using a 007S risers to power GPU's until 006C arrives? on: May 26, 2017, 03:39:20 PM
sata = shit.
molex are good if you undervolt your gpu
pcie are best in all case.

There is nothing wrong with using the sata style, i have literally thousands of them running on everything from R9 380s to RX series as well as the power hungry R9 Fury. As long as you dont put more than 2-3 adapters per chain coming off of the PSU you wont have any problems
1650  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Help me mine without leaving a trace on: May 26, 2017, 03:35:59 PM
This almost sounds like criminal activity.

Pretty sure it directly is. There is no reason to hide the process unless you are using someones hardware without permission. It amazes me that people posts these kinds of requests as often as they do. They should just title the threads "Help Me Steal"
1651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Issues with miner (stopping) or cards fans (stopping) - NoOb. :) on: May 26, 2017, 03:33:16 PM
Your temps and everything look fine. I noticed you say the 9.0 version of the miner, have you tried updating to the current version? (9.4)

From the miner thread:

Quote
-ethi   Ethereum intensity. Default value is 8, you can decrease this value if you don't want Windows to freeze or if you have problems with stability. The most low GPU load is "-ethi 0".
Also "-ethi" now can set intensity for every card individually, for example "-ethi 1,8,6".
You can also specify negative values, for example, "-ethi -8192", it exactly means "global work size" parameter which is used in official miner.

1652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Reduced hashrate on 1 GPU in 2-GPU rig on: May 26, 2017, 03:07:10 PM
Have you tried running the machine with just the 'slow' card to see if it changes performance at all?
1653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What alcoin can i try to mine using my server ? on: May 26, 2017, 03:05:36 PM
I see this in the command line :

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3 Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 06)

Is this not enough to mine ?

Sorry man, not even close. You need a dedicated graphics card to mine anything GPU related. Nothing older than the R9 series is really worth bothering with.
1654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 560 4GB Ethereum on: May 26, 2017, 03:03:12 PM
AMD is facing a global shortage of chips right now. With all of the hype surrounding crypto and alt coins in general they simply were not prepared for the demand. There is always nvidia, right now they ROI pretty fast with zcash.
1655  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Avalon pursuing 7nm technology on: May 26, 2017, 03:01:02 PM
i think it's time to release by the end of this year a new product with better efficiency

There is nothing coming to market this year that would be anything but a small incremental increase. The technology just isnt there yet.
1656  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: First time mining need build on: May 26, 2017, 02:56:09 PM
No you cannot profit with USB sticks. If you have cheap enough power the best bang for the buck in your price range would be a used s7.

1658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ethminer-0.9.41-genoil-1.1 on: May 25, 2017, 08:52:06 PM
Hi,

I am using ethminer-0.9.41-genoil-1.1.7 and want to play around a little with minign ETH.

I found on ethermine.org a description to follow and hence created a .bat file on my Windows 10 machine (with a GTX 670) which looks like this:

Is your GTX670 have 2GB of RAM? If so it cannot mine ETH anymore.
1659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [DIY]Cheap way to control 2 PSU in a rig on: May 25, 2017, 07:48:58 PM
If one of the PSUs is just powering video cards you do not need to reset it when you reset the PSU powering the board.
1660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Reduced hashrate on 1 GPU in 2-GPU rig on: May 25, 2017, 03:47:45 PM
You should be able to monitor the card temps to see if there is a big difference. Usually thermal throttling will shut down the card thats overheating rather than reducing it like that.
