1261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the biggest threat to Bitcoin? on: October 04, 2021, 05:27:18 AM
I think the biggest threat and most obvious issue or problem to bitcoin for now is getting banned by government. But not for long term banning because the government may ban it so that they can study or know the bitcoin more to prevent its citizen to launder money in the form of crypto assets or even commit fraud. But as long as the government sees no issue about the network and it's safe to use then I think it's not possible that they would ban crypto nowadays.

Hackers on the other hand doesn't impose much threats on bitcoin because it is a decentralized network and they would have a hard time just to crack it.
1262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Gas Fee is too High? on: October 03, 2021, 03:31:24 PM
Sometimes we feel not good after paying a High Fee on ETH  Smiley But I want's to know why this?

I feel my emotions with this

High gas fee is caused by crowded transcations that took place on eth network, like the supply and demand idea. However, gas fee on eth will be much higher than the regular fee if you choose to prioritize your own transactions over the other other transactions on the network.

But if you'd like to pay low on gas fee then you should expect that your transactions to be slow, or wait if the gas fee dips.
1263  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin will replace oil and Gold on: October 03, 2021, 05:33:53 AM
Governments all around the World Secretly start using together with banks the bitcoins.
Oil is done so They replace bitcoin instead of oil.

The btc volatility might go like daily 50k-100k price Changes.

Bitcoin will be instutionalized permanently.
The Global market prices Liqutation postion will be fluctuated by Bitcoin price.

I said this before but nobody didnt listen but now its here!!

I don't think so that the gold neither oil can be replaced by bitcoin. Each one of them have their own functions in our economy and that can't be change anytime soon.

Gold can only be replaced by something that have a similar use like some rare metals or even diamond or something like that. Also for the oil, can be only replaced for something that have some similar use for the economy. Bitcoin can't make your stove or car engine running for basics.

Bitcoin have its own function, it can be an asset or investment and make multiple profits. Or even used as an digital currency for payments. So it's very impossible for now that bitcoin can replace gold nor oil.
1264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is easier? on: October 02, 2021, 04:52:47 PM
To those who are trading consistently, I would like to ask you based on your experience.

Which is easier in making a profit, riding with the hype, or waiting until the price will dip?

Most people say that don't buy when the market is bullish, just wait until there's a price correction and the price will dip.
So with your experience, I like to know which is more effective between the two.

Riding with the hype or waiting for the market to dip? Those two choices have their own profit depending on how you handle your portfolio. Just bear in mind that those choices also have their own share of risks that's why you need to study how the market lives and choose when is the best time for you to ride the bull or to buy/sell.

Here are some advice I saw on youtube that also helped me avoid future mistakes.

1265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin an asset or a currency? on: October 02, 2021, 10:31:00 AM
I have been in lots of argument lately with close friends who keep dragging this subject matter. A friend of mine was of the opinion that an asset is any commodity that has a unit of symbol with monetary value attached to it while a currency has an exchange value that can be used in exchange for commodities. This very friend was of the opinion that bitcoin isn't a currency that its an asset because its value isn't stable and has volatility

Another said bitcoin is both an asset and a currency depending how the user chooses to treat it. He was of the opinion that while bitcoin can be used in exchange for goods and services it can also serve as a store of value where you convert your fiat to a digital asset waiting for it to appreciate.

For me I will go with my other friend who said bitcoin can serve both purposes which depends on two major factors:
  • Your country
  • You as an individual

Your country:
In my opinion you can't use bitcoin as a currency in a country where it is not legalized or a country where bitcoin is banned. Some countries has restricted ezchnagers from carrying out their business within the region so in such places you can't use your coin for commercial purpose you it will only serve as an asset

As an individual:
This is based on your choice if you are lucky enough to base in a country where bitcoin is legalized or a country where the government decides to remain mute of crypto related issues you can decide either to store yours as an asset or use it as a currency. But in countries with low civilization you will have the challenge of using it as a currency because it hasn't been accepted as a legal tender.

what is your take on this

Bitcoin is both an asset and currency because it is flexible the way it made. You can have bitcoin and serve it as your asset and make profit from it and bitcoin can also be a currency to do payments because originally bitcoin is a digital currency. It depends on the user on how to handle his/her bitcoin.

You decide what to do or how you handle your bitcoin and not on what your country or government says about it.
1266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Lopez vs Kambosos - October 5 on: October 02, 2021, 08:08:34 AM
Teofimo Lopez vs. George Kambosos is surely must watch fight that was announced early February this year but due to many restrictions and difficulties in both party, they decided to move it on October 5. But again another delay happened and caused the fight to delay and was set again on October 16 this year.

Even though the party of Kambosos didn't agree to move the fight again, I guess that's the last final date.

1267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin have any real value? on: October 02, 2021, 06:24:00 AM
Bitcoin is not backed by any physical asset like Gold nor by any fiat currency. It makes me wonder if I should invest/trade in Bitcoin or not?

First of all even gold or fiat currency isn't backed with physical assets because gold itself is already a physical asset.
Well it's up to you wether you'll trust bitcoin or invest/trade in bitcoin or not.

Here's a video you might interest in to help you decide if you should invest in crypto or not. And do add some more research for yourself.

1268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why hoard Bitcoin? on: October 02, 2021, 03:23:47 AM
Personally, I don't hoard bitcoins. But I do like to hold/store my assets instead of buying goods with crypto, or I'll just use a fiat currency to buy something.

Bitcoin nowadays is becoming more and more valuable so I plan on storing it or invest 70% of it and make multiple profits in the years to come. Only few people are making transcations using crpyto because some places doesn't offer bitcoin transactions.
1269  Economy / Economics / Re: Two basic things that can give you an advantage on: October 01, 2021, 12:45:44 PM
There are two basic things that need to be implemented when the market suddenly falls like yesterday to make a profit. First, the attitude must remain calm by thinking that it will recover. Second, take the opportunity to buy as many coins as possible, such as top 10 coins.

I agree mate, remaining calm is the best way you can do at first especially at situations like this and don't panic when the market falls sharply because chances are you'll make wrong choices.

Don't sell your coins immediately just because the market suffers declination, instead think of it as an advantage and buy coins while the market is low in order to have profit when the market recovers. You should plan it carefully what to do when experiencing situations like that ans always have a plan B.
1270  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation and protecting you wealth on: October 01, 2021, 11:09:01 AM
I recently listened to a discussion on which assets could actually be better to protect or even profit from inflation. This comes as most of the developed world is suffering the consequences of a soaring inflation and several pinch points in the supply chains and the international trade, such as a massive demand for freighters and severe queueing in ports.

How would you defend yourself from inflation:
- Buy bitcoin
- Buy more commodities.
- Buy REITs or real state.
- Buy stocks of listed companies.
- Buy art.
- ... any other?

Buying bitcoin is indeed great to protect yourself from inflation. But in order to profit, we should think it carefully because bitcoin is so volatile in any way and study it well first when is the best time to buy.

Next to that is making your money work for you or have a passive income like buying stocks or invest in real state is also good to evade inflation. But I don't think that investing or buying art is part of my option.
1271  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and wealth as the major religions in world. on: October 01, 2021, 09:45:52 AM
Money is the most basic needs of every people in todays world, without money we can't afford to bring food on our table in daily basis or even pay the rent, electricity and other needs for everyday living. We can even say without money, we can't survive in this harsh world we're living.

In order to be financially wealthy you need to have money first and have the mindset to invest, make some passive income or even make business on it so that later in life you won't work and be financially free, I also think that that's the goal of every human being.
1272  Economy / Economics / Re: If you can get paid through cryptocurrency, do you still choose fiat currency? on: October 01, 2021, 08:00:11 AM
I will still choose full fiat currency because in that way I can manage it more like first of all pay all the needs (water, electricity, food, etc) or else buy what I want. Then I can invest it into crypto when it's best.

The thing about being paid through cryptocurrency is there's a risk of a high service fee to convert it to fiat when you need it. Except if your employer offers to pay it and hand the crypto currency tax free or without being deducted.
1273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: October 01, 2021, 03:26:39 AM

So if Casimero vs Butler is done and whether Casimero loses or wins on this match, he's still going for Inoue.
That is a Big possibility but of course there is Donaire that one of them may be facing.

so it will be there for the WBC to decide.

Quote
I think if we want to see the match of him against Donaire, it will take a year before we see that happen if he has to fight next Inoue.
Donaire is also near to decide of retiring as i believe he is already wanted .

and now that Manny Pacquiao is retired formally then He will be the next to be expected .

I think Donaire will retire right after he can fight Casimero, but if that does not happen sooner then I think Donaire will step down as a professional boxer like Manny Pacquaio did. Given the age Donaire he's the most likely retiring few years from now after Manny Pacquaio.

But let's look forward to this all Filipino fight showdown soon after this mandatory fights that the WBO ordered.
1274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Reymart Gaballo (WBC bantamweight) on: September 30, 2021, 01:31:57 PM
I can't seem to find an update on where and when it will happen. Tried to search it but most of the links are 6-8 days ago.
If its mandatory, shouldn't WBC make an announcement already? Because there is no going back in it for it was an order.

Gaballo would not back off in this fight even if Donaire is his idol. Somewhere in the corner of their mind they may have expected they will also fight each other someday.
I was a bit confused about what he said here.
Quote
"I really want to fight my idol Nonito Donaire but it also depends on my boss and WBC. I am a fighter and what I want is to fight and win. That is my mindset," Gaballo said.
Depends on my boss and WBC? But it was already said as mandatory and the article was written September 23rd.
https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/sports/boxing/804340/reymart-gaballo-won-t-step-aside-for-donaire-vs-casimero/story/
Yes it is the Confederation in which dictates whom will be their facing , once you become a professional boxer you are out of voice to choose your opponent because
it is your obligation to follow the higher/bosses decisions.

What an interesting background of a boxing fighter with a 24 fights all win and never been lose and no draws we can say that Gaballo is such a strong fighter that will definitely give us a good match to watch for versus Donaire. Though we knew that Donaire is also a good fighter but I think the age gap between two fighters will lead to an advantage of the younger opponent. But who knows right if the game will be push through and Donaire defend his belt against Gaballo maybe we could finally see an Inoue vs. Donaire match.
Indeed, Looks like Donaire is facing a monster in this fight , Seemingly that Gaballo is a really great Boxer and will give his best to win against
one of the most popular Boxer next to Manny Pacquiao in the Philippines .

Surely Donaire is facing a young beast but Donaire won't back out on this fight except for the fact that the WBC ordered this match.

Both fighters are notorious in their field and has a great record. But I think Donaire has still the advantage in experience and matches over the young Gaballo, I believe Donaire is still in his prime even at his age.

Still it's a must watch fight, a battle between to pro Filipino boxers. A pro boxer for 7yrs (Gaballo) vs pro boxer for 20yrs (Donaire).
1275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING: Skill-based vs. Chance-based on: September 30, 2021, 11:57:12 AM
I prefer to play on skill-based gambling, because it entertains mo more and in that way I enjoy playing it and I also get to exercise my mind than doing nothing other waiting for the results of your bet and it bores me.

But I don't usually participate in gambling activities, depending on my mood wether I'll play or not. Still luck always play a huge role whatever gambling activities you're into, you can't always win even if your knowledge and skills are high. Eventually, the owner will always win.

1277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Jonas Sultan vs Carlos Caraballo - October 30, 2021 on: September 30, 2021, 02:56:05 AM
Quote
Rising Filipino boxer Jonas Sultan takes on Carlos Caraballo, the Puerto Rican sensation who has beaten all his opponents by knockout

On paper, Carlos Caraballo appears to be a monster. A perfect 14-0 slate and all by knockout.

For Jonas Sultan, however, ring record hardly matters.
source:
https://www.rappler.com/sports/boxing/jonas-sultan-tangles-with-fight-carlos-caraballo-october-2021

Boxrec records.
Carlos Caraballo
14-0
Jonas Sultan
17-5 (win-loss)

Sultan is under the MP promotion now and he will fight an undefeated fighter who has a 100% KO rate.
What do you think his chances against the Puerto Rican in this fight?

IMO, indeed Caraballo is one of the strongest fighter in his time with a record of 14-0 all by knockout but I don't think he has the advantage with the Filipino boxer with a record of 17-5 WL (11 of that is knockout)

Caraballo can't defeat Sultan easily in the early rounds because Sultan is more aggressive than his opponent and the Filipino boxer has more experience than the Puerto Rican fighter and can become an advantage and can fight Caraballo toe-to-toe.

1278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying real world items with crypto on: September 29, 2021, 01:48:13 PM
Where’s the best places to buy high ticket items with crypto?

Only place I’ve heard of doing this is 4K, but they’re building a marketplace where you can buy/sell NFTs backed by physical assets. They’re just starting out with high end watches. Would be interesting to see other items as well (website: http://4k.com/drops)

I feel like with the advent of blockchain we can disrupt all web2 platforms which all have crazy high fees and inefficiencies/fraud.

Nowadays, there are over dozens of companies that accepts cryptocurrency in exchange for their goods or service like Tesla. But not as effective and easy as it could be because before you can buy their goods you 1st need to download some 3rd party wallet to purchase their goods. Here are some lists of things you buy with crypto.

1280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why some gambling sites allowed my IP and why some restrict it? on: September 27, 2021, 11:15:44 AM
So I'd like to hear from you guys, please shed some light on my concern as I just like to get an accurate answer about my curiosity.

I can see that it' clearly stated in their Terms & Conditions

Tier 2 restriction (Cannot view, get IP-restricted page):
~
9. Philippines
Thanks, big help to verify that my country is block based on the TOS because I could not access it.

Best would be to ask them why, still, since you asked for our opinion too, I'll say that what you wrote "gambling is not totally illegal in my country" should be the key. If there's any concern about a country, some will find a way to comply (or just not care), some will find out they cannot comply and some others will just simply avoid (the safe and easy solution).
I think I don't need to ask them as I know that they have the same reasons on the sites that block my country.

My concern is actually for everyone who has the same experience as me.

It's a general question, and the main point of my post is Why some gambling sites allowed my IP and why some restrict it?
Why others allowed my IP address to access their site?
