So we are going to the Semi Finals.

TNT vs Magnolia

SMB vs Meralco.

Do we have our local betting here? I mean, a series bet would be good, especially for the TNT vs Magnolia series as both have even chance to win based on the betting odds. Anyone wants to organize?

We have our local bettings here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5403342.0. Actually it is a prediction tournament by our very own @bisdak40.

Maybe you can follow that thread and probably tail some bets as well. Specially those in the leader boards as they really know the team that much.

That's another thing, it's a prediction thread, I want real betting. LOL.

It's Magnolia vs TNT, for sure we have plenty of fans here for both teams.
Maybe bisdak40 can organize this one while the semi-finals have not started yet, I heard it's a best of 7 series, so it will be more fun.

1463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hold your bag when you can on: July 29, 2022, 11:18:55 AM
HOLD if you can, and SELL if you are not willing to wait.
Actually, I don't urge people to hold as it was just an option and of course, I don't influence their decision but to have their own as at the end of the day, they are the ones to decide.

Holding is gonna be hard for those who are doubtful and likely just quit doing it.
But, as we aim high and carry a positive mindset, no way it becomes impossible.
1464  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Futures Trading is not for everyone on: July 29, 2022, 10:49:55 AM
In the first place, trading itself is not for everyone as this is only for those who are not afraid to take risks and are willing to lose their money.
Spot trading is advisable for beginners and even to have this until you claim yourself ready to step up to a riskier type of trading which is Future Trading. Experience is really needed for this -

I won't stop people to try this at least they have some reason why they stay using Spot trading and understand the risk in Future trading.
1465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 29, 2022, 04:26:53 AM
I'm thinking, what if Ginebra will get eliminated early, I think the favorite to win the championship will be the SMB. Personally, I think Magnolia has a better shot than any other team, Fajardo is playing like his prime years but Magnolia can limit him while they continue their good defense.

If I'm not mistaken, SMB is really the top favorite to win the championship this All-Filipino Cup, and to what the standing turned out during eliminations, they still sealed being the Favorite in this quarterfinals. Ginebra may be just on the second option? Do we have a source for the Conference Outrights betting, especially in fiat online bookies that are based locally?

Either way, even though I'm looking forward for Ginebra to advance or even get the first conference title this season, seems to me that Magnolia will stand in any team's way. The way Magnolia is playing, we can see clearly that they are working as a team, and notably, Calvin Abueva always giving his best every game.

Magnolia fans are surely expecting a big bounce back after the failed rally the last conference.

I wish we could bet on a fiat sportsbook but I have no idea if they offer an odds for the outright winner this conference. I'm thinking as well that Magnolia will be a big problem to any team especially if Ginebra will fall to Meralco. Today, we are going to find out if Ginebra will bounce back, so let us not miss the game which will start 3:00 pm this afternoon.

I will certainly watch this game, but I'm hoping they will have live streaming of this game because usually they only have live streaming on the last game. No choice for me, I will have to watch it on TV if no live streaming, but certainly it's a must watch game.

Ginebra is -2.5 now, is it good to take?

Good luck, that Ginebra -2.5 is indeed very attractive, forget what happened last game, Ginebra has a good reputation and they will certainly bounce back. Let's hope they will get this win so they will have a do-or-die game and bettors like us have an opportunity to put a bet again. Total is 175.5, I'm going on the under.
1466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: July 29, 2022, 03:11:44 AM
Ok, this is just my thoughts, I think it boils down to the guaranteed money for either boxer. I'm not sure of the numbers but we haven't seen 1 million buys for a long time isn't it? And then the PPV is going to be expensive in this one, like $80.00. Is fans willing to pay that much or would rather look for other venues to watch it for free? (just like the majority of us here). So the networks maybe can't guarantee how much they are going to give them in terms of the PPV. Even the Canelo fights are not that generating at least 1 million PPV, he is the cash cow right now. So this could be in the tune of like 500,000-600,000 which might fall to the expectation of networks.

It is really about the money. We are not even sure if Crawford and Spence already agreed on the purse split. What you mentioned might be the main issue here. I read an interview with Bob Arum last week and he also mentioned the ongoing issues with boxers' purse guarantees. The problem with illegal streams. And the current covid and Ukraine war that put the world economy into crisis. I know a lot of people hate Bob Arum and I am not also a fan of Arum. But what he said were facts. Imagine Canelo received more or less than $50 million and another $5 million to Bivol. And the fight only generated 500,000 PPV buys?

Right, it's all about the piracy - illegal streamers that really hurt the PPV numbers of some of the great fights in the last couple of years. And it's really hard to crack them, I mean they are all over the social media so even as hard as the networks trying to sue and bring them down legally, it will be very hard. So the money might not be enough for this two, as they are elite and demanding more. But how can promotion and network do that if the PPV numbers will not do good? In the past, Manny can have some unknown dance partner and still generated a good PPV numbers around 300,000 to 500,000 buys.

They cannot eliminate those illegal streamers as they are everywhere, however, they can still make a lot of money because people living in developed countries can certainly afford to buy a PPV, so why would they rely on the illegal streams that can be interrupted anytime. Also, this PPV is not available worldwide, so some has no choice but to look for illegal streams just to be able to watch the fight.

1468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Stolen Bitcoin Be Recovered on: July 28, 2022, 11:02:03 AM
As I read their criticism and opinion about Bitcoin, you can really say that some have deep knowledge about this and some don't have any. With the shared opinions, positive and negative opinions, as a listener or reader it somehow just creates confusion in our minds about what is right and what is wrong. That is why having this situation we should not have to weigh all of those things we heard but it was for us to even try to further know what really it is (Bitcoin) and to verify something (potential investment or scam).
1469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba Inu's future on: July 28, 2022, 10:14:59 AM
Yes, the coin has a bright future for those that will make use of this opportunity to invest on Shiba Inu in this season. Shiba Inu teams are seriously working to make their customers to enjoy their services as never before in the community. I will advice you to do everything possible to invest on Shiba Inu in this bearish season so that you can have something good to achieve when the price hit higher in the market. I think, I will still invest more on Shiba Inu because there are some signs the coin is developing right now to show that people will not regret with their capital in future.
That is how we appreciate the hard work made by the developers and the people behind this promising project. However, I'd think it was a good idea to put a lot of money into this project as we are somehow not even sure about the future of this project. We don't just judge because of their excellent doings now but we also remember this is a meme coin like Doge. I'd never find it wrong investing this but it should be into some limitations and investment control.
1470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Strong Hands Are Buying on: July 27, 2022, 01:37:48 PM
Low income earners can’t really afford to buy and hold for the long term. But with bitcoin, a low income earner looking to invest can still invest and would get some returns from his investment. Bitcoin is more stable and reliable than any other alt coin out there.
Yes it is very common in crypto market everyone wants to hold Bitcoin but can not. It becomes very difficult to hold on, especially for those who are small investors. When Bitcoin is in a bull market, everyone gets returns quickly, but when a bear market lasts for a while, it has a big impact on small investors and many are forced to give up their holdings.
Mindset - if we think it was hard, not to wonder why we can't wait for the next Bullrun but had sold them earlier. It was very usual words to hear about HOLD, HOLD but unfortunately, only a few are committed to doing it, some have some reason which is quite understandable.

Moreover, it was being said that not all investors are long-term holders, many are short-term investors which just vanished when bear season comes and then just come back during the bull season.
1471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I will Never Fall Again on: July 27, 2022, 01:03:21 PM
Let's not spew hate on all seminars. Would you also criticize the ones made by Andreas? Many seminars are free and made to popularize cryptocurrencies, even if they have to advertise an altcoin or a service that sponsors the event. That part can be ignored but free knowledge is always worth your time.
Free knowledge is fine, but let's see if it's wrapped in other knowledge that would mislead on a ponzi project or something like that, a project that only enriches the seminar maker.
Because nowadays many are holding seminars on the theme of crypto knowledge, but they are using it to recruit new members to join the ponzi altcoin project. that's really not good. Don't be fooled by seminars under the guise of Cryptocurrency.
Citing those instances, only it leads to the spreading of wrong information and even ruins the image of the entire crypto market. This is the reason why some people don't trust crypto anymore due to their unforgettable experiences (losses/scams) which makes them think that crypto is a Ponzi scheme.
I'd never find it wrong to attend seminars but it is also important to analyze if they are doing it right and telling the right things about crypto, not just speculations, it needs facts as basis.
1472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Robson Conceicao - Sept 23 on: July 27, 2022, 05:14:34 AM
So I'm expecting from the first round, Stevenson will be coming hard and maybe a early technical knockout win for him.

I don't think he would do that, as you said, he is a technical fighter and a technical fighter would like to take it slow but in a consistent way. He is not aggressive as Valdez that's why he dominates Valdez because of his effective strategy which is using his quickness while Valdez was not able to use his power most of the time in the fight.

For the games tomorrow, I got TNT and SMB winning.

Also thinking the same, Magnolia for me has the high percentage of beating San Miguel if ever they meet in the Finals because the Death Five of SMB doesn't exist anymore though Fajardo has his usual numbers back but he really needs the backup to complement his low-post play that i hope Jericho Cruz and CJ Perez would give. With the addition of Corpuz and Abueva, Magnolia is a scary team, Abueva just needs to be focused and disciplined all the time.

Blackwater almost won the game against SMB on their last matchup but i don't think it will be a close game tomorrow, so my pick is SMB -8.5.

They are already exposed, a young team that does not have enough experience in the playoffs will vow down to the king. Fajardo will have his best playoffs games coming, so this is a good start and I'm backing them to win and cover than high spread.
1474  Economy / Speculation / Re: Anyone bought Bitcoin/altcoins already? on: July 26, 2022, 11:21:54 PM
The last 2 days are a good opportunity to buy, looking at the market trend in July I'm optimistic that tomorrow the day after tomorrow will be green again, I plan to buy btc and 3 altcoins for around $350 and I'm sure it's easier to get profit at this moment.
No complain that is supposed to the given as excuse not to buy Bitcoin right now. Because Bitcoin started gaining a bullish market so which I believe that anyway who purchase Bitcoin currently or doing this season cannot reject off buying and holding it for long time. Because the more you buy now the price is low is of benefit

Bitcoin $20,000 support level must hold in other for a new test on the $25000 resistance level. I think that's why some prominent people in crypto sold their coins hoping to buy it back if this level will not fail. So far so good. After several bearish attempts, this level is not yet broken so I'm optimistic that the bullish continuation trend will break the current minor bearish pattern
Actually what everyone is praying is for Bitcoin to reach at fifty thousand to sixty that. Nobody is ready to venture into cryptocurrency with small amount and lost it because of the condition of the market. People hold bitcoin for long time, because of their target and budget in cryptocurrency.
They buy for a reason and that is to gain more money. Having this kind of investment really has a great future as long as we can manage it correctly. Some people just lose and quit because they live uncomfortably and they never understand the behavior of the marker which is also a huge factor. But for us who able to adopt the situation, that was seems to be happy having this and continue investing despite any condition.
1475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoins is a good way to keep and save money or not? on: July 26, 2022, 10:32:58 PM
What do you think about stablecoins, some scandals around them and their future? It is interesting to hear the opinion of the members of bitcointalk

I am of the opinion that stable coin is a better way of saving money in the current downward trend of major cryptocurrency such as bitcoin... Some people may not admit it but the fact remains that many people lost money with the current price of bitcoin, ethereum etc. Nobody wants to lose his/her money value in crypto for any reason so it's better to save it in a good/ reliable stable coin for now.
Perhaps, nobody suffered losses from Bitcoin if they will just hold. Even investing stablecoins, can also be possible. Imagine what it happen to Luna, many people had been putting their money on it thinking about profit and secured investment but unfortunately, it was all just gone and it left losses to the holders.

As long as you know how to hold Bitcoin, or just buy the dip and sell high - you're gonna be in profit, not in losses.
1476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: July 26, 2022, 12:10:44 PM
If Crawford will work under Mayweather, then he could probably improve his defense which will give him more edge in this fight.

That's for sure as Mayweather is the best defensive boxer, and a Hall of Famer, but I hope the will not be taught how to be boring, LOL. I'm really excited about this fight, but until now, it's still not declared that it's official, so what's the real score here?
And besides, Crawford has a perfect defense already, no need to learn new tricks at this point on his career. We can say that it's already perfect as no one has beaten him. Not sure though what his association with Floyd as they have been seen in public together?

Again, at this point, no final word from both camps, so we don't know what is the real score whether negotiations is continuing or has stop already.

Yeah Floyd's and crawfords style are 2 different and don't mesh.  Floyd was the king of knowing how not to get hit.  Crawford wants to beat you into submission.  His defense is his offense.  Agreed he hasn't lost yet so why mess with his style at this point.

Well, maybe a little improvement though but will not totally change his style. Spence is not an ordinary boxer, they have almost the same ranking, so he will not take it easy and will make sure he has some strategy that Spence could not counter.

1479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: July 22, 2022, 02:32:19 PM
I understand that there's a rematch clause, however, I think this fight will only make Kambasos look worst because in the first fight, it was like a walk in the park for Haney. Well, I'm not underestimating Kambasos, but Haney is just too strong and too quick for him. If Kambasos will try to be more aggressive, I think this will happen "Devin Haney KO/TKO".
1480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: July 22, 2022, 02:04:23 PM
It's no question that GGG won the first fight. The second fight could go either way. And hardcore boxing fans always remember that Canelo only fought 35 and 36-year-old versions of GGG. Those were not even prime GGG. If Canelo wins this trilogy, then he won against a 40-year-old GGG moving up in super-middleweight. It doesn't affect the first fight where GGG clearly won and that 50/50 second fight. Those punch stats are possibly not 100% accurate but it's close and it won't lie. GGG is always the better middleweight than Canelo. The great Joe Calzaghe won against an old version of Roy Jones at light-heavyweight. But that doesn't mean Joe is better than Roy at 175.

Couldn't put it any better than this. I was following unofficial scorecards from various media broadcasters before the final score was announced (for the first fight). I might have checked half a dozen, and Golovkin was well ahead in each of them. But when the official scorecard was out, it was a draw. And just because Adelaide Byrd thought that Canelo deserved to win. It was a big shame to the sport of boxing that such a biased jury decision was being made. But in the end, Canelo won as per the records. And the match was stolen from Golovkin.

Yeah, majority of boxing community and commenters and outlets have Golovkin winning by at least a point or two in their scorecard. And then after the fight was announced, there was a public outcry of the result and says that Golovkin was robbed by the judges and I think we all agree. And the same with the second fight result, very close fight and the score could go either way depending on who you are going to ask or who has watch the fight live.

Well, hopefully the debate will be over after this fight because GGG will try to win here and hopefully he will succeed. Until now, I can still see the support of the fans, especially here in bitcointalk because most of us here voted for GGG to win, with 68% of total voters for GGG, these people will be so happy if GGG wins.
