81  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 25, 2024, 04:49:16 PM
Which the fight could just be DRAW and then all are winners except we're all just paying to watch them shadowboxing each other on Netflix.

Nonetheless, I still would like to see Jake lose against the old Mike if they for once want to impress us all. Mike is not what he is this time unlike back in the days when gets angrier when he learns his opponent isn't knockdown in the 1st round.

LOL, but yeah, I think majority here are buying tickets or wanted to watch the fight and see Jake Paul demolished by Mike Tyson in just one punch. Or just like in his Roy Jones Jr fight, everything was stage and so it ended up in a draw and obviously no winner between the two legends.

So there is still a lot of scenarios if this is a complete stage between the two.

Or if not, then it will be a good fight and Jake the favorite. However, for Tyson fans, they are going to pour their money for Mike here and at least close that odds before the actual date of the fight.
If it just one punch, it doesn't seem like it because we all know how Paul has strength in fighting, in fighting Mike Tyson maybe Paul could be superior with his breathing being much better so he doesn't get tired easily but he doesn't have very hard punch.
It was impossible that Paul could beat Tyson in just one punch and if everyone bought tickets and watched this fight to be able to see all that then they would never see it.
I actually think that Tyson could make Paul fall down with punch because Tyson is boxer who has very hard punch and is not easy to knock down, he has the nickname concrete neck and only one or two boxers can make him fall with punch.

After all, there is no way this fight will only end in draw and I sure Tyson will give his best to make everyone happy, especially his fans.
Paul is so confident that he can beat Tyson but he forgets that Tyson is very difficult fighter to beat I think Paul is too confident and underestimates Tyson performance because he is much older.
However, in training sessions you can see that Tyson is still quite agile with his punches that are still very hard.

It adds up the hype but I'm starting to think this is getting serious. Dana White talks about Mike and calls his wife which she is saying Tyson taking this fight seriously and that he is training hard.

But they got to have an ambulance ready for this fight actually.
82  Economy / Gambling discussion / Dana thought he lost $80k one night and his advice for gamblers on: March 25, 2024, 04:49:12 PM

Just want to share.

https://youtu.be/k7aQEqDbuf8?t=4429
He was interviewed on Lex Fridman's channel just today. Funny how he thought it was just $80K but it's actually $3M. Rich men lose more when they get drunk playing blackjack.

He advises about winning and losing in gambling and if you get depressed because of it, gambling is not for you. He meant winning and losing are part of the game where great things and bad things happen.
83  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: brazil sanctioned law that taxes online betting in the country on: March 22, 2024, 08:12:43 PM

Do you think the government should really collect alternative sources of income from its citizens such as online gambling?

15% is too much for small-time bettors. They know for the fact it's an unfair number.
When it gets tougher the government will really exercise its laws to make money.  But this would also mean that your government will allow more casinos built in your cities right?  Your president better have plans for those who get addicted.

From what I heard Lula is a populist president who won by landslide so I guess the majority of the people in Brazil agree with his laws.
84  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 22, 2024, 07:46:03 PM
This is the main reason of it all, Tyson would not be fighting a boxer that could potentially destroy his health, so whatever the outcome  of the fight, if it's gonna push through, we should always consider the possibility that it will be just as scripted as wrestling. I mean, there's no reason to expect that Tyson could beat a young boxer, he is great of course, no question about his legacy, but he is "OLD" (I like to emphasized that) and he could not longer go toe to toe in an intense fight.

You know what the outcome would be, both are gonna make big money and both are safe. In short, it's a win-win for them and it's up to us if we will buy the hype and watch it.
The thing is that if it was some old any other sport then we would understand, but boxers do not age well, all that fighting and all that getting punched, eventually catches up with you and you end up being not at your best self the older you get. Look at how Mohammed Ali passed away, dude was sick most of his life at the end there. Because he was punched so many times during his career, and that is a guy known for being able to avoid punches as well.

Also, I do not think that Mike Tyson has to lose, just because he is older doesn't mean he is not strong, dude still has a punch with him, which means that if Jake is smart enough he would avoid Tyson as much as possible, because I believe one serious punch to the chin could knock out Jake very easily.
We do know that this man is a legendary boxer and its true that even if he's old but doesnt mean that he cant be able to take down those young fighters which the age gap is really that too far off
and pretty sure that Jake is really that aware on whose been fighting into but of course this fight do make that good revenue then he wont really be backing off despite that he knows that he's at disadvantage considering that he's fighting on an old Mike but doesnt mean that he wont be able to pack a punch. One solid counter or jab will surely finish up this fight
but since this is an exhibition fight then they would really be making it a little bit more longer or really just giving a good show for those who had paid off.  Cheesy

Same the kind of tension when it comes to expressing their sides in politics. It always does happen even in a peaceful family. There is always tension when one expresses something that others don't like. Too passionate about the teams they support I guess if you are a fan, you can debate who's who.

But this is just sports, politics is the worse as it really breaks families apart especially when the in-laws step in.

88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Top NBA Betting Picks of the Week 🏀 on: March 19, 2024, 09:03:34 PM
I'm all for you making picks weekly and promoting them here so don't take this as hate, but there's already an NBA betting thread that has been going on for quite some time and contains these types of posts from lots of people.  Having another thread for just your picks is a little redundant and might confuse people.  Having you join the other thread with your picks would keep things in one spot and let you discuss your picks with other likeminded folks.  Here's the link if you're interested in participating with the rest of us in this 6 year old thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5091185.0

Hey there, thanks for the heads up! We appreciate you not taking this the wrong way.

You're right, there's already a well-established NBA betting thread going.

We wanted to open a new topic to a discussion-oriented approach alongside the straight picks.  But We see your point about keeping things organized and streamlined.

Thank you!
Since it seems you have already agreed to what "OgNasty" suggested about making a duplicate NBA thread, I think it will be better if you can immediately now lock this thread, so as to avoid any further discussion coming this angle. Thank you

He also wants a new one while he agrees to OgNasty. This would mean this is entirely for nitrobetting's own NBA bet picks thread. I guess it's their way of promoting their platform. I hope he keeps up though. Because most of the people go to that thread already. Updating this thread every day will make it resurface above.
89  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 0x.bet Online casino on: March 19, 2024, 02:56:24 PM

Though I have no proof they are related, the name of the casino reminds me of the scam casino. And because this is new I guess there is just the need for someone to just test them first with your minimum amount.

No KYC is cool. The casino I can tell that the owner invested money in developing it. The UI off the casino looks good though. I find it easy just as most casinos here. Welcome to bitcointalk
90  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake and Bruno Mars An Example of How Gambling Addiction Can Affect Anyone on: March 18, 2024, 06:29:51 PM
Bruno doesn't appear like he gambles. I thought the guy don't feel like doing anything all the time and just wanna lay in his bed.

But he owes $50M because of his gambling, where are his financial advisers?  He must be trying to impress some women in the casino. These celebrities are still vulnerable despite how many of these people have taken advantage of them.
91  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stop gambling if you don’t have free time to do it on: March 17, 2024, 03:17:39 PM
It is an addiction. You are also losing which is another sign that it is an addiction. If you have stopped this habit, it will be good. If you do not stop, it may later has side effect on your health and which you will not like. I have this habit before but I have also stopped since few years ago. If you do not have time to gamble, do not gamble. If you want to gamble, gamble with little amount of money.

It's like an addiction we know too well, we are aware of gambling addiction but we still keep doing it and then advise someone to not do it.

It's not unusual though. A gambler should know as they experience it themselves. Its good to see he didn't quit his job just to gamble so he still has his priority on set and can go on without gambling.
92  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 16, 2024, 04:54:15 PM
This is what Netflix has to say,

Quote
Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson will stream live globally, exclusively on Netflix on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from the 80,000-seat capacity AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.

https://about.netflix.com/en/news/netflix-and-most-valuable-promotions-partner-on-jake-paul-vs-mike-tyson

So it's exclusive, and so if you are subscriber, I don't think you need to pay extra money for it.

And for those who want to see it live, you can go here for ticket sales: https://www.mostvaluablepromotions.com/

I'm wondering how much is the contract with Netflix on these boxers to show their fight. It's not a typical PPV subscription anymore where a subscriber will pay $70 to $100 just to see the fight, but with Netflix Subscription which I think most of us have, it's just around $10 or less, probably depending on what country you are living too, but it's way lower than the usual rate of PPV subscription.

I think they've done a strategic planning on this to ensure both sides are on a win-win situation. I liked it because in my case I don't have to pay anymore as I have been using Netflix for years now. Good to know this new information, now I just have to wait and see.

Cool Idea. The Paul brothers have come up with a good idea for boxing promotions,  this could just be one.
Netflix competes with Amazon Prime after it partners up with PBC. I think this will also be killing those boxing shows like DAZN when Jake Paul and Mike Tyson is going to be making millions for each party.

Amazon Prime is less appreciated by the younger generation so Netflix is probably the best network to show the fight live than PPV where few people can afford.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which game currently have you glued to your screen. on: March 15, 2024, 08:39:52 PM

FMB tokens looks easy to earn and it already have a good value while the game isn't something you would need a long hours to learn. unlike those strategy games.

in the bear market, i have tried looking for games to play but have not found anything at all that is easy to play.  but there are lots of games to chose though. it just need to be installed in the phone and a user could already earn tokens. what you may not like about this is that you are going to spend 3-6 hours of playing everyday. that's a lot of hours.

95  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Online Crypto-Gambling Legal in a Country Without Gambling Laws? on: March 14, 2024, 02:07:29 PM

They may be doing it in Dubai, Qatar or the open cities which the same rules apply in Macau where gambling is legal while on the mainland is not. It's almost like they bend the laws just to give gambling a leeway.

This is pretty much a good law as its for tourist attraction. Las Vegas is just an example of this AFAIK. But there is always a law for it.
96  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When is best for a player to draw the line? on: March 13, 2024, 05:41:07 PM

When you allocate funds for your gambling spree, I guess when you lost it all that's the line you draw to stop. If however you didn't put a limit, then there is a chance that you may add more and deposit another to chase your loss. This isn't unusual anymore as it happens to every gambler even to myself.

If drawing the line means quiting gambling, that's another story but its definitely a time to quit when you run out of money and you affect the lives off people around you.
97  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Man bet his life savings on 1 spin of Roulette on: March 13, 2024, 05:36:19 PM

When you are in the position where you are the center of lots of audiences, the pressure to show your balls I guess might sway you to bet huge amount if not your entire life-savings. He got lucky though which is kind of good for him.

But he sure would be the saddest person that night if he lost it all. Yes, its stupid to do this thing. I would never put all my eggs in one bet.
He just got lucky since the bet is binary which he has higher chance.
98  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A call to self-examining our gambling habit. on: March 12, 2024, 07:27:34 PM

I think this was that set of questions that if even just one of our answers is YES then we are considered a gambling addict.  Idk. Things are definitely different when you become a pain in the ass to your family. But if it's just self-examining and you also treat yourself, you can always just say tomorrow I will quit and the next day you'll promise it again.
99  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 12, 2024, 07:22:05 PM
Has it been confirmed it's an exhibition though? I mean, I'm sure it will be but I'm not sure how exciting that would be for people as it might as well just be an open workout session if that's the case. Tyson's last exhibition against Roy Jones Jnr was pointless and it was basically a light sparring session and it looked like they were only doing body shots.

If this was an actual fight, who do you reckon would win. Opinion seems to be mixed from pundits. Half seem to think Jake would easily defeat Tyson given his youth, but the other half seem to think Tyson could and would still KO him. Mike still has power and they say power is the last to go from ageing fighters, but fitness wise I don't know how long Tyson's cardio would last and Mike could be gassed out within a round or so.
He has some stamina problems even into his prime days then how much more @60? For sure if this one would be dragged too long then we might be seeing that much more faster that gassing out.
When it comes to age then there would really be no doubt that there's a huge disadvantage on here but i do agree on what most people been saying on here that when it comes to power then
i would say that i do agree or something that still with him but of course it wouldnt be something that will really be the same when he's still young.
This fight could really be considered as exhibition even considering fighting a retired boxer then it would be considered to be this way.

Some do have always that negative thoughts about these exhibition fights on which this is something becoming a trend. Well, it is what it is, we arent that forced to
buy those tickets and watch.

In the videos I have seen, Mike seems to point out that it's a serious boxing match where he is sparring with someone and preparing for the fight. Kinda a normal way to sell a fight. Of course, some of us will believe it's a legit real fight but at his age.

I have seen my father struggle to get up from a chair at this age, I have to move his chair next to a pole so he could hold it to get up. This is a man who rides a horse til 50. But once a person rests for a year or two, it's hard to get back to his old habits. Let alone Mike winning against a huge 27-year-old.

I hope Mike consults his physician and his insurance guy.

You know how Simpsons predict different world events? This fight has already been predicted in Punchout game:

Look how cool, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! from NES 8 BITS!! good times! golden age of video games, I played a lot when I was a kid

They really are very similar, it really seems to be a prediction of the future, from the image you can already see that Tyson was the winner... Great opportunity to place some good bets on Tyson's victory, if the game is correct, it's a sure profit!   Cool

I am not around at that time.  But amusing to see it's not just the Simpsons who had seen things coming.

When Jake mauled Ryan Bourland, it was so savage that in 1 round Ryan almost lay face flat. If Jake does that to Mike I think many of his fans will lose respect for him.
But because this is also PPV as I would assume, Jake might make this fight longer up to the 8th round.
