Why are people scared of taxes?

People scared of taxes. Because when the liability of the country is increased  taxes are increased. People don't trust about politicians. Therefore people scared of taxes.

If all of goverment want to earn something from people.they shoud put it for all of persons equily.not only for poor person.

i dont understand what do you say about? you should know taxes is used to build every country and majority paying for taxes depend on your income, this is narrowing spread between rich and poor

In my country, many people dont want to pay taxes because there are so many taxes everyday and every year, that low income family just bare living.

You should not be scared of paying taxes. As You live & earn in the country, you use the roads/rails etc put up by the government. you use the water/oil/gas provided by the government at subsidized rates and hence it is your responsibility to pay your taxes.

I just don't think that the existing tax systems are fair enough. For example the proportional tax system is a real burden for people with low salaries. At the same time a progressive tax system is not beneficial for really hard workes. Something should definitely be changes. The question is just how can it be changed?

taxes are actually a great thing but only if everyone pays them and if they are spend on useful things only. Just look out your window and you will see lots of things paid with your taxes you use everyday.

I think it might be because they have a hige mistrust to the government that would mean that they think that the taxes would be used into something that is not into the projects beneficial to the country but to the pockets of the greedy people in the government.

I am surprised, everybody seems to be against taxes.
I agree with you that taxes can be used in the wrong way (especially to pay politicians that are not involved in their missions). But it is also used to pay for medical cares, unumployed people, environment projects, cultural projects, improving the cities, the road and all the infrastructure we use day after day.

Because by it's very nature, tax is theft. Just as people would be scared of being robbed, it is only natural that they should view taxation in the same light. Any one who is not scared of taxes has been psychologically conditioned by governments into submission. This also sets the standard for many other injustices and immoralities to take place in society.

A society needs a form of organization, which is government, and such government would need funding to operate. Any person with self integrity would want to contribute in proportion of his capacity for the operation of this government. But that does not mean it is something that can be forcibly taken.

Taxes are a throwback to ancient/feudal ways of squeezing wealth out of the working people by the monarchs and the rulers.

In future forms of government, there is no place for forced taxation. There are many alternative, morally just ways of raising revenue for a government. These morally just ways however will force governments to be democratic, non-corrupt, just and transparent - so obviously politicians would not want that happening

The problem is, there are still many people who are reluctant to pay taxes because the tax money is afraid to be corrupted by the tax officials themselves. This is precisely the wrong assumption. If the tax money is corrupted by the employees themselves, this country has been destroyed since long time ago. People are not afraid of taxes, they just don't wanna pay it, when people don't see any changes and anything that will benefit them, they tend to disregard paying taxes because for then its just a waste of money.

Taxes are OK but ONLY if 95 percent of population would be exempt.

Considering that 95 percent of our planet's resources are owned by 5 percent of human population we can just tax them and collect enough money to make everyone else happy.

That would ultimately be consistent with Logic - Needs of the many are above the needs of the few.

Take the example of my country (India). Here only around 2.5% of the population pay income tax. And the tax payers hardly ever get any of the government benefits. 99% of the government schemes are meant for the poor, who never contribute anything to the society. Essentially in India, 2.5% tax payer population is subsidizing the remaining 97.5% of the population.

People are not scared of taxes itself, what people are scared about is the fact or the possibility that it may be used in bad things. The possibility that someone who shouldn't will benefit through you efforts and use it for self privilege is annoyingly fearsome. Taxes nowadays are bigger and bigger but it's more than what we should really pay.

Tax money continues to be used to fund a variety of programs for the benefit of society, such as environmental protection. Thanks to tax money, roads, schools, hospitals are funded.
