The German Football League was the first among the leading European leagues to continue the competition and could be the first major football league to bring fans back to stadiums.
This possibility was hinted at by the executive director of the German football league Christian Seifert, in a statement to the Frankfurter Allgemeine.
Measures are currently in force in Germany that make it impossible to organize a larger and more mass gathering, at least until October 31, but after that date everything is open.

Cant read that source link from you without a translator, but yeah, seems like the german league plans to bring back the fans to their stadiums.
What I have heard is, that they are planing to bring fans back already in September but with some restrictions.. Fans have to wear protectivte masks, every 2nd seat will be used and only fans from the home team are allowed to enter the stadium.. Roll Eyes

I would love to have at least some fans back in the stadiums. The problem is, that it's not a federal decision, but each state will most likely have their own regulations. And (for Bundesliga) in the states that have fewer Corona issues and are more likely to allow spectators again, there are no teams in Bundesliga Grin

The hardest hit states (Bavaria, Baden-Wuerttemberg, North Rhine Westphalia) have 11+1 teams in Bundesliga, while states where Corona is only a smaller issue (Mecklenburg Western Pomerania, Brandenburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia) have no teams at all. If Saxony allows Leipzig to have fans again, but Bavaria says no fans allowed in Bayern/Augsburg, then that is unfair financial advantage for Leipzig and DFL won't allow them to have spectators too.

Yeah, did not thought about this aspect yet. You are absolute right, Bavaria would be the last state to allow fans again in stadiums if you compare it with other regulations from that state.  Grin
Guess we could wait for some more months if it comes to the decision for the DFL.

Sorry, I don't know german and can't find original german article from the Frankfurter Allgemeine and also couldn't find this article in English.
Surely sooner or later fans will be allowed to enter the stadiums, with strict protection measures, but I'm not as optimistic as you or others that it will happen soon in Germany, already  in September, more likely a few months later.

Today's the cup final, the 2nd leg between Werder and Heidenheim is on Monday.

I think Bayern's much stronger than Leverkusen and will win the cup as well, but Leverkusen is an attack minded team and I will try with an over 3.5 goals bet for tonight.

Finals tend to be games with less goals than usual but I think this one will be offensive from both teams.

Mein gott I've been making a lot of mistakes with game dates these last week, so I see now that my bet is still active. Probably because I'm now using bookies across 3 different timezones or something. Looks like you got your bet anyway, and I missed a spectacular game it seems. Probably best I did, since I'd definitely have bet on Leverkusen (and lost).

Need to really start organising myself better.

There has been a study already during the last match between Dortmund and Hoffenheim regarding bringing back the fans. The German Kicker has an interesting article about it. Basically it's about a company that uses AI for camera-based bodytemperature-measurement, detection of face masks, people counting and (social)distance measurement. Their system detects when people who do not belong together (e.g. as a family) sit too close together (will probably look something like this). They are talking about a capacity use of 30% of the stadium as a first steptalking about

On one hand it really amazes me what can technically possible and I'd really love to see fans back in the stadiums. On the other hand this whole total survaillance give me strong China vibes and even though the official of that AI company ensures they comply with privacy policy regulations, I am still not really convinced it is worth to completly monitor every fan only for the sake of filling the stadiums again (and give the clubs the juicy ticket money).

After the Match yesterday from Leverkusen it looks like that the player Kai Havertz maybe will possible play next season in Chelsa.
If they realy want him i guess he will doing it because it would be a big jump for his Career.
Bayern Munich dosnt wanted him.

For the relegation match tomorrow i will place my bet again on Bremen .
For the other relegation match in the second league for Nürnberg vs Ingolstadt i dont know to place the bet, but this match getting intresting for sure.

I'm not gonna bet . It is possible for both teams to make the miracle after the first leg.

Yeah, that worries me too. I don't want to be monitored at the stadium and be told by the stadium announcer that I'm sitting too close to another seat: "Hey, you there on seat number 30. Go back to your seat number 31."

Odds for Monday: Heidenheim - Bremen 3.14 3.56 2.24

Odds have dropped below 2.00 in some places and I think this is wrong. Strong home team against strong-ish away team, but Werder only managed to win 6/17 (35%) of their away games in the end and they don't have to win this game in order to stay in Bundesliga. Any scoring draw is fine for them and even 0-0 again would be enough to send the game to overtime. I think Werder will want to score at any cost to put pressure on Heidenheim having to win the game. Heidenheim themselves are aware of this and they conceded only 13 goals in 17 games at home. Now Werder is better than any other team they faced in 2. Bundesliga and thus I expect Heidenheim to take a very cautious approach again - sit back and wait for counter-attacks, where Werder looked vulnerable in 1st leg. Getting corners and free-kicks near the box should also be something they would looking for. As Darkoth89 mentioned, Werder is poor in defending set pieces (+ Moisander is out) and Heidenheim has Schnatterer who kicks very dangerous free-kicks, if the position is good.

Heidenheim 1X for me with 3/10 and another 3/10 inplay, if Werder scores the lead.

Agreed - having watched the first game and taking into consideration everything, Heidenheim 1X seems super value tonight! Heidenheim unbeaten at home in last 12 matches (9/3/0) and even though there wont be spectators of course, I still believe they will perform even better. Well, my friends will cry but at least we'll make some cash to go watch Werder away in Aue next year!  Cheesy

Ordinarily, I'd agree with you. I might even say Heidenheim is the slightly stronger team. But for me here, it's about hunger. Does Heidenheim want promotion more than Bremen to avoid relegation?

I generally believe, and this is based on the English championship anyway, that if you don't qualify for automatic promotion, then your energy's all sapped by the time you reach playoffs. And I have been rooting and watching Bremen play (that final game of the season was absurd!). They will want to win this, both of them. I predict a high-scoring game completely different from the first leg.

I should have bet earlier too, I was expecting odds to go UP but by the time I made my pick, Bremen below 2/1.

I am expecting another very tight game so I am playing various markets based around that outcome. Again there is a lot of value to find by browsing the odds on Sportsbet. I placed a bet on market - which team to score - none @9.60. For instance correct score 0:0 at the time I am writing this is paying 8.80 and Asian total under 0.5 is only 8.32. All exact same things and very different odds Smiley

Then I have placed another bet on werder total under 1.5 because if Werder scores one they will defend it and I don't see them scoring another if not for some fluke. I also placed something on 1x since it has a lot of value.

Heidenheim 1X for me with 3/10 and another 3/10 inplay, if Werder scores the lead.

it is a good analysis of both teams strenght and weakness, but you should bear in mind that this is one game, and after that game, everything could be the same (with Werder in Bundesliga), or completely different, with former champions in 2. Bundesliga (for me, Werder is one of German top teams, no matter current position)

i think that Heidenheim will play a bit defensively and cautions, with probably goalless first half, and than they could go ahead in the second half, did not seen in first match, but do think that Werder players are in better fitness condition, after all they train as top teams than Heidenheim, and will be interesting at the end, if result stay on 0:0 in, for example, 75 minute, think that at that moment, Werder will be a bit of favorite

I think I will use the same approach. After seeing the extended highlights of the first game, it is clear both teams can keep the opposition away from their goals. Even in case of an early goal, the team that is leading will just increase their defensive effort so a low-scoring game might be the best betting option.

I'll also go with Werder to stay in the Bundesliga, it's a win-win. If werder stays up I'll get some money, if Heidenheim wins I'll just enjoy in the underdog win.

As a fan of Werder Bremen I'm praying that this will be a clear loss for Heidenheim.

However, I have to say that I would treat it to Heidenheim aswell because they played a great season. Against any other team I would cheer for them coz they absolute deserve it to play atleast one season in the 1st League in Germany.

Lets hope that Werder will get off lightly one last time...  Roll Eyes

In most cases (8 out of 11) in previous relegation playoffs, the team from the first league had the upper hand in the end. But I don't really think this is a matter of energy as you suggested. The team from the second league has just this huge disadvantage of having a team that was put together to play in the second league and not the first. This sounds logical but let me explain.

The TV money that clubs from the second league are getting is substantially less than the one first league clubs receive. Sponsors aren't willing to pay that much so in the end they can't pay high salaries. And on top of that they can only offer 'second class football'. So all in all teams from the second Bundesliga neither have the money nor the reputation to lure star-players into their squad. With these prerequisites it is no wonder that teams from the second league have a hard time to compete with the one coming from the first league. They have to approach the games really from a fighting point because individually they are always on the losing side.

That's why some people even want the relegation playoffs to be abolished again. They think it's unfair that a team (like Werder) can play a completely shitty season and still have the chance to save themselves in the end while the team from the second league doesn't get rewarded for their good season.

Yup, I'd support this as well. The whole season is enough to fight for your spot and I don't like second chances - especially because they are in favor of the big teams again.

I dislike the Championship promotion format as well in which 4 teams play a knockout tournament for the last promotion spot. That spot is worth 100+ million and if a team has claimed it over 46 games in a course of the season, I think it's unfair that they need to claim it again once the season is over.

I think better to let the relegation playoffs like this. If the 3rd team in 2.Bundesliga isn't able to win vs the third last team in 1.Bundesliga then better to stay in 2.BL until they will be able to do something in the first.

i also hope that werder bremen will give his all today for the last game and save himself from the relegation into the 2. bundesliga.

but if you see this as a neutral viewer, then bremen has earned the relegation and to see 1. fc heidenheim in the 1. bundesliga would have something special

I haven't watched any Bundesliga 2 teams play but Heidenheim seems to have a very strong record in home games. They haven't lost since October last year and have played 16 games since out of which they have won 13 and 3 draws. While this is a bit different since there is something more on the line for both teams so anything could happen. I would say BTTS is good to go in this intense fixture that is about to go down in just a few minutes.
