I was hoping to see Tsitsipas win against Raonic but it wasn't to be. I still think that Tsitsipas is a good chance to win this years US Open if all goes well. Djokovic was pushed hard in his match but was still able to overcome Bautista which now sets up for a good final against Raonic. I think that Djokovic will win but it won't be an easy win for him as Raonic has shown in the past that he can match it with the top players in finals.

Well you know me, I always bet on my boy Tsitsipas and I thought that he will also beat Raonic. But it seems that the big serving Raonic is back. Also Djokovic had a hard time adjusting to Bautista Agut and even losing the first set. But he come back, so it will be Djokovic vs Raonic. The match will be good as long as it last, as long as Raonic can keep up with Djokovic, but I don't see this slipping in the hands of Djokovic.

I think there is something bigger going on in the world of tennis right now and that is that Djokovic and few other Men's players wanted to form their own player union which has caused Nadal and Federer to speak out about this. I don't like the idea of Djokovic here. No offense here, but it seems that he has this plan for years now and just looking for the perfect timing to get this out. And with the pandemic around, it offers him the perfect opportunity to somewhat justify it.

I'm with Federer and Nadal here, no need to separate the players, or choose which side they wanted to be. It just create chaos within the organizations and players itself. What will happened post pandemic? Bad idea from Djokovic.

I got odds @3.05 on Nole after he lost first set and just had to take them. Now I am a bit angry I did not place a higher stake bet but I was not sure if Nole is 100% ready since he had big problems yesterday.

This was my local fiat bookie so it will not help you probably. But I assume the odds were similar elsewhere, they don't have better odds usually. I did not exactly explained the moment of placing the bet. Novak was one set down, 1 game down in second set serving on 30-30. Sounds like realistic odds to me after he was quite bad in first set, but I never skip those odds on Novak

After watching today final now I am sure Djokovic is one of best tennis player on planet because in first set Roanic completely outclass him and I was sure he is going to lost in straight sets but he fight back very strongly and won this title now its good for many other players that they must need some quality game for this year US Open title even we have no 2 legendry players not available this Djokovic is can handle easily this all.

Been saying this for the past two years on here that Djokovic will most likely be the greatest Men's tennis player of all time and will one day be the number #1 ranked player to win the most Grand Slam titles which we could see happen next year if the virus is under control and sports get back to normal.

In fact, I think Djokovic is already the greatest tennis player of all time and soon all the numbers will confirm that.
I think the semifinals of this last tournament best showed why Djokovbic is the greatest.
Djokovic is one of the few who is willing to go over the pain threshold and never gives up.

Watch the highlights of the game in Youtube, Raonic, was still really in the game in the 2nd set until Djokovic took over, same thing happen in the 3rd, thought that he is doing good until he was broken and seeing Djokovic doing the fist pump, in game 5 means that game over. Djokovic is already one of the greatest but to be able to really cement his name in tennis immortality, he needs to beat the record of Roger Federer.

Obviously, I he is unbeaten this 2020, only few tournaments. And this is just a gauge on how Djokovic will do in the US Open. And with Nadal and Federer not competing, I think he is really on this way to win the US Open again. I remember his interview way back in May, in which he says that he is looking to win more Slams and break the record for being the longest number 1, so his goal are pretty clear.

However, but him resigning as ATP player president and creating his own association of players and all because they want to have greater control of the revenues?, doesn't sit well as their agenda on the table.

Even with this all we are going good in first day matches we have few good upsets as new teen sesation coco lost in 3 sets thriller Lajovic and Schwarsman also lost in tough playing matches hopefully we will able to have some more good and entertaining matches in coming days with very silens stadium look like not good for players and many other those watching this all at homes.

Yeah, this bad news indeed, but i give my hats off to the officials, it's not easy task as I've read that players goes on a rigorous testing process, so it's not just a one day and you are good to go. And they are like in a NBA "bubble", wherein they live closely and being watch 24x7 and not allowed to go out. And it's good that Benoit Paire was tested right away as not not spread the virus amongst players and to other people that are involved.

Glad to see that Andy Murray won his in the opener, but it was a gruelling 5 setter against Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka. He lost the first 2 sets and it looks like he is going to be ousted in the first round. But he rallied, and won the last 3 to go to the second set. I do hope that he can performed better again and carry this big momentum win because we all know that his hip surgery really took a toll on his body and his tennis career.

Only a few months ago it happened, and he got death threats and angry people just as Maria Sharapova did when she was found guilty of drugstaking.

But you can't compare the tournament that Djokovic organised compared to the US Open. The tournament of Djokovic was one with no rules: no social distancing, no face masks, ... At the US Open, they try to follow the guidelines.

Tennis should be one of the easiest sports to organize while following all the anti corona rules. You have 2 guys/girls on the field separated by net and a lot of free space. No contact at all. I don't think any of those players got sick on the field. All of them got it on after parties or came in sick. If we can have football and basketball matches playing tennis should be at least few orders of magnitude safer.
