I didn't get to watch the Women's final but from the looks of the stats it was a good final going to three sets. Osaka fought back strong after going down 6-1 in the first set. Its always good to see players come back like what Azarenka has been able to do and now I hope she can continue on with this form, congrats to Osaka on winning her second US Open title.

Now we move onto the Men's final which after Djokovic was out, most of us were hoping for this final between Zverev and Thiem. Lets hope that it will be an epic final between the two as just think its the first Grand Slam final without the big three in many years, I can't even remember the last Grand Slam final where there was no Federer, Nadal and Djokovic.

I can promote your project on X to my 100k+ followers for a reasonable price. Just DM me for prices.

Last time when we have Grand Slam Final without big three its nearly around 2003 or 2002 because after this we have never any final without these big 3 giants now hopefully we will have many without them as Federer is going out and age factor is also creating problems for him Djokovic is still good but Nadal is not in for some time may be this gape create some serious problems for him Thiem and Zverev and Medvedev these can bring some good change in coming years.

What do you guys think of A. Zverev?, I'm keeping a close eye on him in this tournament and it seems he is really doing good, much more relax than I've ever seen him (I do hope that I didn't jinx Alex here).

I will be rooting for Zverev now since Stefanos is gone

I intentionally didn't post here because I don't want to jinx Zverev, LOL, because I have a bet on him reaching the finals and winning the US Open. So I'm excited that he finally made it against Busta, it was a nail biting match, he was down 0-2 and out of nowhere, fought back and win the semis.

So obviously, I will still be rooting for him against Thiem, looking for another 5 set and the first one to blink, will lose.

Osaka managed to win US open with a great comeback against Azarenka. I was watching the second set and it was really like she flipped the switch and added that bit of extra power and accuracy to her ground strokes. I saw that while she was 2:0 down in second set and placed a bet for her to win. When i started placing the bet odds were @7.5 and they dropped to@3.9 before my bet finally got accepted. I guess a lot of people had the same idea as me and then came the break of Azarenka serve. Nice odds anyway but those original odds were so much better, if only I was few seconds faster Smiley

Naomi Osaka wearing Kobe's jersey after winning the US Open

Damn, @Trofo, just shows how odds are changing every minute and gamblers can smell a victory from afar. But still nice if you get @3 something, but still more juicy if it is @7. hehehehe.

If Djokovic was not disqualified, then probably we will still see 1 of the 3 in the finals, unfortunately it is a big disappointment for Djokovic as he didn't lost in the tennis ground. We are hoping to see other names in a final for more than 10 years, however, with the circumstance surrounding today, the pandemic, Federer and Nadal are out and then Djokovic disqualification, I think this US Open 2020 is an exception.

Anyhow, will be thrilled to see Thiem vs Zverev today, and I will go with the favourite in Thiem here.

It was expected that this would happen one day, that someone other than Federer, Nadal or Djokovic finally wins the GS.
Too bad it happened this way when due to health problems and coronavirus Federer and Nadal didn't even come at all and Djokovic was disqualified.
However, Nadaj will still be the favorite to win the GS in Paris and Djokovic the favorite to win all the other GS.
Thiem, Medvedev and Zverev are certainly the future of tennis but I’m not sure their time has already come.

^ Yes, it is expected, and actually we have been calling it for years now. We need fresh blood to pump up the tennis scene and stay away from the big 3. However, we want them healthy playing their best and see how the young generations are going to react to them.

If not for the pandemic, I'm sure it could either be Nadal or Djokovic in the finals, not downplaying Thiem, Zverev and Medvedev and others. But the pandemic has benefited them someway. So I do hope that the future of tennis will rest on the hands of this 3 and other rank players.

Anyone taking Zverev to win tonight?

Thiem was my favorite as soon as Đoković was disqualified, but the odds with a boost are 4.20 on Zverev.

It's a final, I'm taking this for sure. Thiem is a better player and is in better form, but these odds are just silly. Even handicap is placed at 5,5.

My friend is betting on Zverev while i am going with Thiem who is favorite. In the last match Zverev lost the two initial sets and i am sure he can afford to do the same in this final match. Odds are good for both of these players.

So obviously, I will still be rooting for him against Thiem, looking for another 5 set and the first one to blink, will lose.

Zverev is up 2 sets to 1 and going into 4th set now, Thiem leading 0-1 and Zverev serving. Hold your horses mate, it's living up to its expectation but obviously Zverev is leading and the 4th set is must win situation for Thiem, he will fight this out for sure.

Now match is very interesting Zverev won first 2 sets but now Thiem is in total control won third set now in fourth both fighting hard for every point look like we can go in fifth and final set if Thiem play like this in remaining match leading by 4 - 3 very epic match right now.

This is what we wanted to see an epic battle between two up and comers in the sport. Thiem has all the momentum after coming back from losing the first two sets, I think with Thiem its his nerves early on in big matches but once he settles into his game he is hard to stop which we are now seeing. Zverev is fighting back after Thiem took the first game in the fifth set for now Zverev to break back. This is going to be an epic fifth set, I can just feel it.

Wow, just wow, I thought that Zverev will get this one, anyways, nothing to be ashamed of his performance, he just feel short as Thiem is more tough mentally and was able to come back after 2 sets down.

Congrats to Thiem, we have a new champion not name Federer, Nadal and Djokovic in the US Open, and to Osaka as well.

If I'm not mistaken, this is the fourth grand slam final for Thiem, and finally won one Grand Slam title, let will see about next Grand Slam French Open, can He reach another final Grand Slam since He is good in clay.
Osaka has good stats in Grand Slam final, which has three finals Grand Slam and all the finals won by her.

@Kemarit Zverev played like a true champion and he should be very proud of his performance, but I feel that Thiem played slightly better and it was also evident that he badly wanted to win it, and that’s why he constantly hung in the match and managed to win it. Also now these two need to step up against Roger, Nadal and Djokovic, because if they fail to beat them, then people will never give them the respect they deserve.

Congrats to Thiem, I never thought his first GS title would be something other than RG. He is still much better clay player but he managed to take advantage of the situation and take a big one for himself.

I just watched parts of the match, mostly from 3rd set. The bookies were backing Thiem in this one all the way. He was still favorite @1.8 when he was 2 sets down with a break in the 3rd set. I wanted to place a bet on him but those odds were criminal.

yeah, i did not expect from Thiem to come back after two sets, or to put it in a perspective i expected from him to win set or two, but not to win the match

Zverev said that it is not his last chance, agree on that, but it was his best chance to win first one, think that he will have to wait for another chance a bit longer

congrats to Thiem, it is a big deal, and he is now really close to no.2 (RG away), or maybe no.1 after AO with performance like this one

That is the odd part, he is a clay player, but I guess he really wanted to win this year's US Open and take advantage of the situation and it really paid off. And with this win, it could boost his confidence of winning another Grand Slam besides clay. Congrats to him, Zverev also deserves the accolade, he just fell short and Thiem really took his game to the next level. It was a massive comeback for him, down two sets. And it looks like this is theme in the finals, as both Osaka and Thiem was a come from behind, well deserved this two.

I watch this match and end was really stunning as he was really on top of his game Zverev was also very good from start to end but too many double faults hurt him very badly more then 16 double faults in Final of Grand Slam is really as criminal offence hopefully now in future he could be some better as this lost is going to be a big lesson for him.
