@Trofo @Joca @casper

I f*ked myself up on a big bet too. Picked 2:1 for Nadal, thought the odds were good value, but I did NOT hedge because there was no way for me Nadal would slip up, but oh he did. Didn't see the match either, but lost that third set badly.

Tell me one guy who saw that coming, cause no one I knew did;)

That's my final bet for this tourney. I normally don't talk about it either but yesterday pinched me pretty bad heh heh.
My dad also wanted to place a bet on 1-1 in sets for nadal
But odd was 1.40 and decided not to bet because odd was low. And i told him to bet on rublev 4.00 odd was was a good odd was watching the match and seen he was clearly better

Its nice to see two young talented players make the final. Stefanos Tsitsipas has not really had much competition in this tournament however he has played well without losing a set. I think this is he's time to shine and step up to become a more consistent player and when tournament finals but it won't be an easy match as Rublev has also been in good form and even upset Nadal so he will have all the momentum going into the final and confidence to win. Its going to be a great match.

I can promote your project on X to my 100k+ followers for a reasonable price. Just DM me for prices.

Exactly, he seems to be very comfortable with clay court and been playing very well in this tournament. But the last time they fought, Stepanos lost to Rublev, so it's a revenge game for him. It will be very tough one for Tsitsipas here, Rublev is slight favourite as per odds, nevertheless I will put a bet on Stepanos ML @2.05 boosted, and goodluck to all bettors.

I think I'm going to back Rublev to win this. As mentioned he has a lot of
momentum going into this final and will be super confident especially
after beating Nadal somewhat comfortably over 3 sets.

Should be a great match.

I just came across this news:
''Mixed doubles will return for the 2021 French Open after being cancelled last year because of Covid-19 restrictions.''
Only 16 pairs will compete as opposed to the usual 32 mixed pairs.
It’s not really clear to me why mixed doubles weren’t allowed last year.
In fact, they don't take up much time and it's only a small part of the competition.
I hope that Croatian tennis player Dodig will take advantage of this decision and try to win a new title  Cheesy

I guess, it is Covid releted since there is much more players interaction in doubles then singles.

We have a best double in the world with Pavić/Mektić combination and I am hoping they will continue to collect titles, they are playing in Monte Carlo final in about one hour. Dodig/Polasek is a a good combination but I am not seeing them as RG winners. There is always one of them who is playing a bit off and top teams know how to take advantage of that.

I have been talking for days now how Rublev will take Monte Carlo and now when we are in the final I am not so sure. I watched him against Ruud and he was having a lot of ups and downs in his performance. My tip for the day over 22.5 games in the match.

Yeah, damn shame I miss out big upsets like these. I don't flinch at 10/1 and above odds in football but for some reason I never do the same for tennis (max I go is around 5/1). I suppose psychologically for me I just don't see those underdogs winning as often and especially with the big 3, they just dominate so much those type of games I don't see the point in betting 10 times to try get 1 win!

Anyway, I'm out of this, also don't feel comfy betting any more heh.

I thought that match was going to be closer. Tsitsipas played some great tennis.
Rublev seemed nervous and tried his power game which didnt work.

Tsitsipas is really growing and climbing the world rankings. He along with
some of the other younger generation are getting closer to  challenging the top three
more regularly and breaking the spell they have especially in the grand slams.

You bet I did:

Tsitsipas is very confident in clay court, as you have said, he started very quick and fast in the 1st set of the match. First 1000 Masters for him, congrats and good win. Julia Apostoli, Stepanos mom, also won in Monte Carlo years ago.

Congrats on winning your bet my friend. Its a shame that I missed seeing this match as your boy Stefanos Tsitsipas finally won a major title and he did it without dropping a set which is even more amazing. The only thing that I would say is that he didn't really have much of a challenge through out the tournament but he still had to win the matches to get to the final and he beat a very good player in Rublev. It looks as though Stefanos Tsitsipas has improved a lot on clay and is ready for the French Open where we can see him reaching the finals.

I do hope you put your money on Tsitsipas as he won in straight sets 6-3, 6-3.

Tsitsipas race on a comfortable lead in the first set and never get Rublev a chance to rally, he break early and that's what he needed to keep his momentum going. If I'm not mistaken, he hasn't drop a set in this tournament entering the finals.

You bet I did:

Tsitsipas is very confident in clay court, as you have said, he started very quick and fast in the 1st set of the match. First 1000 Masters for him, congrats and good win. Julia Apostoli, Stepanos mom, also won in Monte Carlo years ago.

Was about time for Tsitsipas. He was often very close to winning something of meaning, but then failed in the final. On a good day he can beat everyone.

Shocking how Djokovic and Nadal were eliminated. I am curios about the French Open this year.

Will also be interesting to see what role Roger Federer will play. I don't think he will make it very far, but I thought the same back when he won the Australian Opn again. Seeing how Nadal was eliminated on clay, maybe the French Open this year are by no means an easy win for him. Maybe he won't make it very far at all.

Then again he turns himself into a beast when it's about the French Open.

Hmm.... I've just seen the match between Nole and Sinner. Ended fairly routine for Novak but it was a battle at times. However, Nole was solid in his 1st clay match this season (kept the opponent deep behind the baseline, also did the damage with drop shots). Sinner is already a strong player but maybe not on his favorite surface today (was too nervy ......probably wanted to display his A-game versus world number 1). we can say he burned with desire.

I just checked the scores, 6-4 6-2 so it is a dominating win by Djokovic.

I agree that most of the times, this young players are nervous just to see Djokovic in the others side, so there's this so called intimidation factor. Probably Sinner is more suited for fast surface, but there are a lot of players that is also good.

Nadal against Delbonis, Rafa leading the game. Hurkacz lost the first set again Evans, this is going to be an interesting match to watch if Hurkacz can come back and win the match.

True, but Djokovic is playing outstandingly well. I think he will gain the lead in Grand Slam wins very soon. Will be interesting to see him face Nadal this tourney. I just saw Federer delayed his comeback. Anyone knows when he will return to the tour?

Yes I agree, Djokovic will most likely end he's career as the top grand slam winner if he can stay fit and healthy. We have seen this many times when the young players come up against Djokovic, Nadal and Federer, they play good early on in the match but they can not sustain it through out the whole match. The class of these players always seems to find a way to win matches even when they are down. That is why they are hard to beat and also the young players don't seem to have the mental toughness to win matches even when they are in a winning position in the match.

I was hoping that we would see Federer play however I'm thinking that he is waiting for the grass court season as that is he's favourite court and it will be less stress on he's aging body.

What a surprise in the Master's now. Yt, Djokovic is a beast. I think if he has one of his best days nobody can beat him. Watching him playing defensively is almost like watching a magician. How can he manage to return all these balls the way he does?

Sometimes I can't even trust my eyes...

I thought that match was going to be closer. Tsitsipas played some great tennis.
Rublev seemed nervous and tried his power game which didnt work.

I agree, Rublev is nervous, I don't know if there is pressure on his shoulder to win this tournament. While Tsitsipas is very relax and confident.

Tsitsipas is really growing and climbing the world rankings. He along with
some of the other younger generation are getting closer to  challenging the top three
more regularly and breaking the spell they have especially in the grand slams.

Many have predicted that Tsitsipas will really one of the big tennis players that will come. Unfortunately the big 3 is still on the field that's why they always lost to them in grand slam. But he is still very young and for sure will always be in the top 5 in the rankings.

Tsitsipas still has time to fully mature as a player as he is only 22 years old and most players start to hit their peak at around 24-25 so he still has a couple more years before we see him as a top player and start winning grand slams on a consistent basis like we see with the big 3. I think Tsitsipas is in a very good position right now as he continues to work on he's game and become a top 3 player which I think we'll see in the near future.

Yes, he is still very young at 22 years old, but we have seen years ago and been calling him that this kid is something special and that he can really be the future of tennis when the big 3 has left. Although from time to time he disappoint us, but for sure I'm been riding with him and have won and lost some money.

And when he peaks or reaches his prime, it will be good to see him against his contemporaries, and we may see some rivalries building up and that makes tennis interesting when we see them facing each other more often in the finals.

Hard to see but I would say that it could be very competitive in the few years until another big 3 re-emerges in the future. Of course I would love to see a balance tournament, wherein everyone has equal opportunity to win.

But we can't really stop them, to come up and become the next generation of big 3 or big 4.

Tsitsipas, Medvedev, Rublev, Zverev and Thiem amongst the name that are going to separate themselves in every tournaments.

Dominic Thiem is another one that I will add to the list. He was supposedly the next Nadal, unfortunately, injury and bad play this year cause him to miss some great tournaments.

Will there be a different "Top 3" or will the mens competition become super
competitive like the ladies with slams being won by a variety of players?
All of them are very super competitive, so we might see the same pattern in the ladies slam.

Somebody watched Fognini match today? He got disqualified for verbally abusing a line referee  Grin What a character.

Tsitsipas continued with strong performances and destroyed usually very solid clay player Munar. Did not watch the match but Munar is kind of player that usually makes you work for points I believe it must have been a good showing from Tsitsi.

I know there is a lot of his supporters here, any of you guys Greek maybe? What happened with this sport in your country? I don't remember seeing many Greek players on tour and I don't know any top players from Greece in the past and now you guys have Tsitsi and Sakkari at the same time. Both young and looking ready to stay close to the top of pecking order for long time.
