I invest into bitcoin to have more options into spending in the future. In a way it is like real money because you can spend it, save it and earn it. Just like the cash you use everyday.
Yeah the difference is it is online. That is why some people think it is not real. They are telling people to get away from bitcoin because it is bad and is not real. Those who havent experience using it ill stay that way without knowing it is useful. Yes due to no physical form (not most commonly used), people are lagging on recognizing bitcoin as real money. Even we can have physical bitcoin with private key in it, many people are not accepting it as real money. Without knowing the facts of bitcoin many people are staying away and asking other people to stay away. The main reasons the average joe stands away from Bitcoin is because of it's high volatility and general misunderstanding of the thing, they still think that it's some weird technology used by terrorists because that's pretty much what mainstream media has said yet and most average people get their news from the mainstream media.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in
Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it
will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Only Bitcoin is real money. As one who loves reason and loathes violence, it seems insane to me now that I ever supported violence-backed fiatscrip bloodnotes.
I was joking about the whole "nuke this and that" thing, by the way. Just having some fun. Not about Donald Trump though. *winks at mods*

Yes Bitcoin is money. Here is reason why: unit of account, portable, durable, divisible, fungible, store of value These are the main features "real money" should have and Bitcoin has all of them.
By the way all the USD, Euro, Yen, Yuan etc. is no real money. This is currency!Big difference! Currency never holds it's purchasing power over years and decades. Therefore it lacks the feature as store of value.

Of course it is real money to me. Why wouldn't it be, I use it just like it was fiat. It is going to be the new currency, I hope.

I looked up the definition of money Money "A medium that can be exchanged for goods and services and is used as a measure of their values on the market, including among its forms a commodity such as gold, an officially issued coin or note, or a deposit in a checking account or other readily liquefiable account."" http://www.thefreedictionary.com/moneyThe moment you can use it to buy for goods/services it IS real money so yes it is real money.

BTC is real money.
It is also a unique asset class that has low correlation with other currencies and asset classes.
This makes it more valuable, since it can help diversify a portfolio and thus reduce its variance in returns over time.

There's a consistent theme that I see popping up on here that I find rather fascinating, and that is the way that many posters perceive BTC.
What do I mean? People doing things with BTC that they'd never, ever dream of doing with their dollars - gambling as an 'investment', or gambling at all, pouring coins into bullshit investment schemes run by totally anonymous showers of shit, lending on here to shambolic morons, asking the question 'where do I get free coins?'
Considering how much of a pain up the arse it can be to obtain coins and keep them safe and their future potential, I find it bizarre that there's such an extreme disconnect. I would've thought it should be at the opposite end of the scale but that's clearly not the case for many.
Why do you think this attitude has developed and where do you stand yourself?
Journalists and academics also dispute what to call bitcoin. Some media outlets do make a distinction between "real" money and bitcoins while others call bitcoin real money this is declared in Wall Street Journal commodity in December 2013. According us its a real money Just move forward with that Don't see them.
