It's really to me because I can pretty much do the same things I can do with fiat.
I can buy stuff with bitcoins as well, even though it is limited as to where I am able to do this though.

Yes bitcoin is real money to me and I accept it for any purchase in my store located in junction city oregon. Likely the first in the city if not county, but we are a start.

What kind of store is this Sir? Wow that is a good start. More and more shops that accepts bitcoin as payment. Surely bitcoin will be more known once they see those posters or stickers that are in your front door.  Grin

We are a locally hand made store. Kinda like a head shop but we don't sell any tabacco. I'm building a thread in the market place and I hope to make my services visable and available to anyone over 18 on this site Smiley   here's a link to our fb page https://www.facebook.com/localheads.junctioncity/

We are still new to everything so don't beat me up too much over the current shortage of pictures and content Smiley

Yes, it is, but unlikely fiat, due to its deflationary nature, Bitcoin is also easily seen as an investment that appreciates in value over time.

Under construction.

There's a consistent theme that I see popping up on here that I find rather fascinating, and that is the way that many posters perceive BTC.

What do I mean? People doing things with BTC that they'd never, ever dream of doing with their dollars - gambling as an 'investment', or gambling at all, pouring coins into bullshit investment schemes run by totally anonymous showers of shit, lending on here to shambolic morons, asking the question 'where do I get free coins?'

Considering how much of a pain up the arse it can be to obtain coins and keep them safe and their future potential, I find it bizarre that there's such an extreme disconnect. I would've thought it should be at the opposite end of the scale but that's clearly not the case for many.

Why do you think this attitude has developed and where do you stand yourself?
i got this, even we had never imagined would be able to transact with easy and convenient, and has not previously been imagined to be familiar with bitcoin, and until we can exchange bitcoi with money, it is a remarkable thing, that's why bitcoin as real money.

Yes Bitcoin is real money, but it is better than real money because it has more applications. It can be easier to spend, can be held as an investment, as is based on a technology that has a lot of economical potential.

Signatures? How about learning a skill... I don't care either way. Everybody has to make a living somehow.

Unfortunately not yet. At the moment for me the bitcoin is a store of value and a matter of speculation. Although the development is moving in the right direction.

Unfortunately this money (bitcoin) is still not all it was adopted by people, there are still many countries that forbid
I think bitcoin is still speculation, and not yet into money

Just like you can't walk into an europen bar and pay with rubles, they won't accept it, but it still money, because it is accepted by a large number of people, even if not everyone

Yep! For me Bitcoin is more than simple money. It is a means of exchange that allows you to become your own Bank. Besides being programmable money as well, it also has innumerous advantages over traditional Fiat currency.

It is real money... It's very real.

Definitely "realer" than fiat because at least BTC has a cap on how much you can have of it, and the government just prints fiat out of nowhere and everywhere.

To be honest, not yet. It's close. Ill only thick of it as a currency when a country, be it small or big, accepts it officially. Right now I think of it as an asset, an investment, and some sort of small form of credit.

It's true, I have also watched this kind of attitudes between some bitcoiners. I can't understand this lack of seriousness to manage adequately their bitcoins, especially when there are thousands and thousands of newcomers willing to do almost anything to gain some bits.

Hahaha  Grin That is something though 5 dollars now is not that much for bitcoin. Make it a little higher. maybe 440 dollars in bitcoin. In that way you will see a "1" in your bitcoin wallet. 1BTC  Roll Eyes

Bitcoin is real money to me, because with bitcoin I can buy some good things.
Also with bitcoin you can cash out if some ATM accepts bitcoins.

I work online and get paid for it in terms of bitcoin. It is no less than real money to me and in fact one can even sell them on a profit. The only problem i face is that there aren't much stores which accept bitcoins as mode of payment. It will take some time for it to be accepted worldwide.

It is real money no doubt.

But i havent really grasped it yet , unconsciously.  I know that fiat is crap yet I still feel that it's money. I know bitcoin is real money, but I still feel it's not there yet.

The subconscious has been indoctrinated in 12 years of public school and a lot of mass media, so don't trust your feelings guys, your rationale is superior Smiley

Yeah that is correct if I can buy any product using bitcoins then it is a real money for money, no doubt all merchants are not accepting bitcoins as a  mode of payment in real life, but even if I can purchase anything online using bitcoins or if I can convert my btc for my fiat currency then it is a real money for me, and the day would come soon where we can do anything with bitcoins like paying at grocery shop for buying basic products.
