I was not following this market at all, i have to hurry up and start to read some of the news you brings here and also read on the web to know what transfer are the msot important in this one.

About Cavaliers, i think they still one of the best teams in the eastern conference Darius Garland and Donoval Mitchel are two super stars, so if they can build a good team around them they can fight for finals for sure.

I see a lot of hate saying he is overpaid or they cannot forget his performance in the Olympics but damn, that dude took his game to another level to give the Nuggets their first-ever championship.
He deserve that. I think that the Nuggets is spending their money well to their stars. It's almost half a billion and 5 years for Jokic with $276M + this contract of Jamal of $208M. This is how Nuggets are taking care of their franchise players.
Jamal deserve that contract and forget about those people that can't move on with the Olympics games. It's really hard to impress people there so going back to the NBA, the haters will love him again.

Nuggets knows how to play their cards, Jamal gives them their first title playing very well after that injury alongside with Jokic, it's not about the Olympics more on the business side, knowing NBA is a business and taking care of your players to make sure the value of your team will continue to generate profits.

I still seeing them as good contender since they still got the main core and those role players can easily patch up with the leaderships of both Jokic and Jamal.

As long as they’ve got Gordon and Porter on the wings they’ll be capable of beating anyone on any given night. There’s no doubt that Jamal is a great player and he over performs in the playoffs, but I think his best days are behind him. Especially after his injury. I think he earned this contract but won’t live up to it.

That's the problem with the Nuggets right now. They went all in on Murray while having that huge contract on both Porter Jr. and Jokic. Murray is a talented player and we know that. It's just that, I think that he isn't the type of player where he can get a contract that huge. I mean yes he has a huge impact for the team, and during the last playoffs, but with this contract that he got, the Nuggets will be having a hard time signing role players in the future because of the CBA.

Olympics? Let's just forget about that because Team Canada is fully stacked with NBA players there. Let's focus on the Nuggets. Does he deserves the contract? I'm sorry, but I might disagree with you. Brunson took a pay cut for the sake of the team to have more space to sign good role players. Murray didn't think of that at first place and think about the money first. He's selfish and he doesn't deserve the contract. The Nuggets won the title 2 years ago because of their depth. Now? They have nothing on the bench anymore, and unless some of them will step up and help them, don't expect the Nuggets to win another title with their current roster.

They've got Gordon and Porter, but who they got on the bench? None right now. When they won the title 2 years ago, they got a deep bench. Jeff Green, KCP, Bruce Brown, Christian Braun and more. Now they have role players that isn't playing that much time during the regular season and in the playoffs. I agree with what you said that he will not live up to it, and he's selfish. He's heroic performances during the playoffs sure pays off, but he didn't think about the future of the team.

Of course, a team with a high chance of playing in the playoffs can be created. But I don't know how successful they can be in the finals. The players you mentioned are quite successful but they are not big enough star players to make a team a champion. This team needs a better leader, there is no such player right now. So even if they make it to the playoffs, I don't know how high they can go Smiley

Well Haslem was different because he spent his whole NBA career with the Heat while Thompson played for a combined 6 teams. Haslem also took the mentorship role and will most likely work in management or whatever for the Heat. Just looked it up and found he currently is the "Vice President of Basketball Development for the Heat" , that already says a lot.

So his role in the organization is totally different than what TT's role with the Cavs ever was.  Grin

Anyway, if the Cavs think it's worth giving a spot to him it up to them. The team most likely won't make a big splash next season anyway if you look at when all the other teams have done. So maybe they will start tanking soon anyway, in case at some point next season they will trade Mitchell.
I 100% agree with this. While I agree that other teams Thompson played didn't really matter to him and Cavs was the place he won the title, he even got a huge contract after that because they won, and I think he is a legend for that team because when you name the players that won the only ring of Cavs history, he was the centre of that team, and rebounded very well.

However, Haslem wasn't signed for his talents on the court, he was the big brother to everyone there and he was a Miami legend for good, like he was someone who played there and learned from the system they had and because of that he kept going as long as he can, and I am almost sure that he will be an assistant coach there eventually, Thokmpson will leave after this season and will probably not come back.

Also Nuggets know that Jamal is really good that's why they secure him and offer $208 million contract for long term deal. NBA is business and there's no question that Players will also be careful on their health since this could affect their career if there's something bad happen to them playing outside leagues or tournament.

There's no question Nuggets still a strong contender since their core still intact. People just made fun on Westbrook since they think that he is the curse of each team he play and people think they can't win a championship since he's in Nuggets  Cheesy.

He doesn't have a big impact on the team since he's not a starter and will likely only get limited minutes depending on his performance. Personally, I don't believe in curses. If Coach Malone can manage Westbrook effectively, he could become a good addition to the team and perhaps they’ll win next season.

Jamal's comeback is like the case of Klay Thompson, he was out a season and then both of them have a spectacular season after that winning the champion. And then they had difficulty defending the championship. And I guess it shows how difficult it is to defend though, much more three peat and then established dynasties. So they really have to focus again if they want to get that ring back. But we have the Celtics, who I think is the favorite to win back to back because of how strong they are last season. But let's see, as  I have said, defending that championship is hard, many teams are goin to make it difficult for the Celtics, including former champion Denver Nuggets with Jokic and Murray at the helm.

Indeed, the connections with the core players are great just needed to blend those role players and keep that competitiveness to bounce again this upcoming season, as I agree to this offer he work hard to prove his worth and now he's earning or harvesting the fruit of his success, whatever happened to him that huge amount of money will give him better life in his upcoming future.

They did not move much in trades and sign-ups in this upcoming season. I am just intrigued by what their new head coach Kenny Atkinson is going to bring to the team.

It's still going to be Mitchell, Garland, Okoro, Mobley, and Allen. Then, they have Niang, Struss, and LeVert for that bench help. It's not a deep bench but I can say they are a decent team.
I think it's just the chemistry that is still the wall for them. Mitchell is not playing like how he did in Utah Jazz, they need him to be more active on the offensive end. Mobley is the one talent that I am really curious about because he had been stepping up his game and his perimeter shooting is definitely better. He might actually become the bigger threat in that roster if he can perfect his plays.

Remove Jamal from the roster and the Nuggets are no longer a championship contender. Despite having the best big man in the NBA, it's undeniable that Jamal improves ball movement and makes them more unpredictable. That's how valuable he is. In important games, even when slightly injured, he still forces himself to play to help the team win. His love for the team and passion for basketball make him deserving of that big contract, and he’s already proven his worth by leading the team to their first championship win.

Provably Nuggets will not win a championship without Jamal around and so far he really deserve to get that big contract given by Nuggets to him since they know what Jamal brought up in their table and stop their long time drought to win a trophy. Its like honoring on his big contribution added on their team.

Maybe there are some few question regarding on what contract he receive but majority of NBA fans or Nugget fans is happy for what Jamal get from their team since that means they can still see him play on Nuggets for long time.

Awwttsss for WB, he's trying to pair himself to other superstars but until now there's no ring and his chance this upcoming season will be rely in the hands of Nuggets core players, he can add up though if coach Malone will give him that minutes, let's just wait if what will happen this upcoming season.

Who knows maybe he can win his first championship with Nuggets.

Wasn't able to follow the discussion on the Nuggets, but it could be because of this news?

https://x.com/TheDunkCentral/status/1831776790463050225

But before I saw this news and reading the discussions on the Nuggets, I'm also under the impression and we have seen this in the past, that the first one that the heads that will roll if a team went from championship to nothing, it will be the coach.

So I'm not surprised by the news, and if the start of the season the Nuggets didn't perform as expected, coach Malone might get fired, in my opinion.

Wasn't able to follow the discussion on the Nuggets, but it could be because of this news?
---
But before I saw this news and reading the discussions on the Nuggets, I'm also under the impression and we have seen this in the past, that the first one that the heads that will roll if a team went from championship to nothing, it will be the coach.

So I'm not surprised by the news, and if the start of the season the Nuggets didn't perform as expected, coach Malone might get fired, in my opinion.
Things aren't good right now for Denver. That's for sure.

Their current GM right now and Coach Malone isn't seeing each other for a long time, and that's because of the recent moves that their GM did. The mindset that their current GM has isn't aligned with Coach Malone. Their coach has a mindset of a win-now while their GM has a mindset of long-term one which for me will not work. They already have the pieces when they won the title. After that, they let Jeff Green go, they let Bruce Brown go, and now KCP that is a 40% 3-pt shooter went to another team. Their GM is relying too much on their bench player like Zeke Nnaji who just recently got a 4-year 32 million contract which for me is just crazy because how in the hell will you give a player that's barely playing a contract that huge.

Firing Coach Malone as of this moment will not affect him because there will be other teams that will get him. The Nuggets organization right now is in trouble and this is because of their GM making wrong decisions. For me, he's like Rob Pelinka 2.0.

It’s very hard to depend their title since Nuggets toss a lot of key players especially bench players that give huge contributions during their championship run. KCP and Porter Jr is not that productive either while their bench is weak as fuck.

They even make Braun a starter which is just a bench before. Nuggets didn’t even bother to maintain their roster for this year after their Championship run because they become cocky that Jokic and Jamal alone can carry the tram which didn’t happened.

Nugget should focus on building again their 2nd unit team since Porter Jr play is always on and off same with KCP.

I think that’s why they brought in Westbrook. He’s going to mentor the younger guys and help build up the second unit. I disagree about Porter Jr. I think he’s a major reason why they are as good as they are and he’s fought off horrific injuries that would have ended most people’s careers. He is a bargain and would be a superstar if he was never injured.

First Furkan Korkmaz left the NBA and returned to Europe, and now Cedi Osman. Turkish stars can't make it in the NBA for some reason. Except for Alperen Şengün, we have no representative left there.
Furkan Korkmaz didn't get much playing time in Philly, his choice is understandable but Cedi's minutes weren't bad. After 6 seasons with the Cavs, he was with the Spurs last year and averaged 17.6 minutes per game. It's an interesting decision for such a player to leave the NBA and return to Europe. His salary will be 5 times less. He went to one of the best teams in Europe to win the Euroleague championship, but I still think it's better to play (even) for the worst team in the NBA. So there are other reasons behind Cedi's decision. Even though I find his decision irrational in every way, I wish him success.

And I have read that Osman being offered by the Lakers, but he turn it down as he is playing in Europe and he could be more comfortable there.

Quote
He also received interest from the Los Angeles Lakers, which invited him for a training camp; however, due to the lack of guarantees about making it to the season roster, he decided to refuse and come back to Europe.

https://www.eurohoops.net/en/euroleague/1713500/panathinaikos-owner-dimitris-giannakopoulos-announces-deal-with-cedi-osman/

Also, another record could be set by Steph Curry next season, reaching 4,000 career 3-point shot, When Steph could become first to reach eye-popping 3-point milestone.

Barring injuries, he could reach it in their 53 or 54 games based on his average from last season.

And then they had difficulty defending the championship. And I guess it shows how difficult it is to defend though, much more three peat and then established dynasties. But let's see, as  I have said, defending that championship is hard, many teams are goin to make it difficult for the Celtics, including former champion Denver Nuggets with Jokic and Murray at the helm.
Jamal Murray is definitely an important player, but lets not expect the world from every single player all the time, he could have a bad season too, it wouldn't be end of the world and it wouldn't be the first time a player has a bad season neither.

Those teams that end up keep staying that great and keep getting titles are really insane, Lakers did three peat last I remember and that was something insane, and it has been over twenty years since any team did that ever again. Hell, Cavs ruined it for Warriors to have their three peat, think of how great you have to be to destroy a three peat chance of a team that went 73-9, and that's how 2016 ruined that and got in the middle. So, it's a tough thing and Jamal Murray could be different as well. This is why I believe that we are going to see NBA not have that many back to back winners that commonly anymore as long as we do not get a dominant team, Denver is fine but not dominant so we may see different winners for a while.

Yes, they're still the same and even without KCP and Brown anymore, they still have the other contributors like Gordon and MPJ.
And with Westbrook going onto them, I guess that they've become stronger although he might not be the prime that he's been in, still they've got a veteran on their side so Jokic has more choice to pass more to his teammates if needed.
