I personally feel like basketball talent has this subjective part that you could both agree to disagree but also has a level where its stupid. When you say something like Gary Payton was a better player at his peak than Lebron at his peak, thats stupid, thats not subjective in my eye and that's biased, however if you say Mj is better than Lebron or say Lebron is better than MJ that is understandable, you do not have to agree with that person but you could understand why they think that way.

So if you know the level, if you know the small gap between these players, you would understand why one seen above the other. Do not say stuff like I would take Brad Miller over Shaq Cheesy. But you could say I would take Kobe over Lebron, its those type of things that make the arguments fun as well.

Cool!  Grin
It could be base on positions too?

Jason Kidd over Jason Williams or Russell Westbrook but it cannot be against Steve Nash.
Steve Nash don't do rebounds and yet he is a 2 time MVP. Nash and Steph Curry maybe? Freethrow percentage almost the same. Both 2 time season MVP. Possible. But I like Steve Nash more (Suns) even though they didn't get a championship. That was a fun team to watch.

Could also be stats basis.

Exactly, I watched Jordan while I was very young and appreciate his game and admire him as a player, I watched Kobe while I was in highschool and loved the way he plays as I understand the game of basketball. Then, I watched LeBron during my college days and liked his type of game. Critics were normal, but discrediting them for what they have accomplished and achievements is a straight disrespectful, considering how hard they trained since day 1.

People respect players but people just have their own favorite players in NBA, it doesn't matter how they train,  we don't see it, what we see is them playing in the court and how they give a win on their respective team, it's normal for players to receive a lot of criticism or praise because as a fan, we are emotional, we idolize or we hate players and they have to accept it as that is how they earn money from the fans.

Im sorry, but I think you didn't get my point my friend.

Hopefully in next 1-2 months we will start seeing some of the action to take place and this is a good thing and a positive sign about practicing. How and under what conditions the game will begin perhaps the time will only tell and with so many restrictions will also be imposed once the game begins on court.

More good news.
That's cool!
I think I have already updated about the Portland opening also here in this thread weeks ago.
They are letting 5 players only for moderation.
Of course they will bring some cameraman and their trainers and that is why they will just let enough.

Perhaps they changed it now, it had been 10 days already since the announcement.

I know they are already planning the rules or the rules are already created that will be use as a guideline if the NBA will resume.
If you guys are super excited with this, I am too, not because I'll enjoy it watching but because I will be able to have fun betting online again, in the past I don't necessarily watch the games that I bet, so maybe that's the reason why I'm okay if this game will be played without the fans in the arena.

I hope in one month from now, NBA will resume.

Its discrediting since even if we can see the skills and dominance of the player still many people hates him and the main reason on why we see this thing is the fact that their favorite player has been dominated by their bullied player and this always happen on lebron and stephen curry, they always gain a hate eventhough they fun to watch inside the court.

If you know the gap and understand the levels of skills and IQ inside the court you'll be able to give your opinion according to how you see who has the advantage, though there's no need to agree or to argue since it's your personal choice.
Opinions which is based to how you see players and what   their contributions and how they've dominates the league, always depend to your own assessment.

Almost freaking 4 times the expected auction price.
Wow! A big WOW!

With the massively popular series, “The Last Dance,” bringing renewed focus to the basketball icon’s career, a pair of autographed game-worn sneakers from Jordan’s 1984-85 rookie season were sold on Sunday for a record $560,000, bringing in about four times as much money as Sotheby’s anticipated.

Yeah, that's what I am talking about.

Damn, that's crazy price, but is also smart decision by seller, The Last Dance generated a lot of hype around MJ once again. Since he bought those sneakers back in 2012, he probably made a nice profit on them. Buyer probably sees it as an investment, as those things are usually  bought for that purpose.

I just finished watching last 2 episodes of the documentary, it was so tense to watch recap of that Finals series against, Utah, even though we all know how it ended. It brought back a lot of memories, like waking up at 4 am in the morning to watch those games and then after that straight to school.
During that Finals series, we had to go on high school trip and stay at some crappy bungalows for 4 days, and that would mean missing out on 2 games. 6-7 of us that were really into NBA wanted to cancel the trip, but since it was already paid, parents forced us to go.  So in order to watch those games ( I think game 2 and game 3), one friend brought with him small portable 10" TV that he took from his grandpa. Improvise, adapt and overcome! Cheesy

Football leagues are coming back but at the very best possibility these teams will play like 20 games total, and probably not even that much, most teams will play like 8 games or whatever and that is basically just 2 games a week for one month and be done with it. NBA has harder path to come back, 20 games left on the regular season plus there is playoffs.

I don't know how they will come back, or when they will come back, but when they do come back, we are not going to see an awesome season from now on, players could be ready for few first games, but the further we get to end of the regular season and we start to see the playoffs, we are going to see that players will basically be barely making any shots. If I was a rebounder I would say practice people who airball or short their shots this season, there will be plenty of them.

Almost freaking 4 times the expected auction price.
Wow! A big WOW!
https://nypost.com/2020/05/17/michael-jordan-game-worn-air-jordans-sell-for-record-560000/

Cheesy

Spoiler Alert,  Smiley. You're still young though, as I'm already working that time, and I did watch some clips of the highlights in the internet that time. I was fairly young with this internet thingy, but someone show me where to see it so I will try to look at it whenever the boss is not looking. Then going home smiling having watch the game and can't wait to tell my buddies about my experience. I will watch the last 2 episodes later and I'm sure it will bring back memories as well.

I hope in one month from now, NBA will resume.

Risky if 1 month from now. Weekly death toll average in the US is crazy.

Maybe for the next 3 months, even though still not safe but at least we can expect good progress 3 months from now.

Lots of time needed to prepare everything. All of their proposed plans are just currently stated in their papers, discussing the pros and cons, advantages and disadvantages but no actions yet have been done physically.

A wise move to the buyer too.
Buy it while its cheap.
In 10 - 20 years than might double the price or maybe more. As long as the authenticity is safe then he will have no problem at all.

I tried to not read the last part of your posts Rika.
My instincts tell me that it will be another spoiler from the first line of it.  Grin

I can't believe such sneakers will value that high, oh my God $560,000 just for a sneakers, I would not even but it at $1000,, seriously... my shoes is just around $100 and less, but I understand it's MJ but I just can't believe people are willing to spend that much.

It might be also for investment purposes.
We don't know the reasons behind it but this is like a collectors item now.

Could skyrocket in value someday.

The holder of this shoes has to invest also on the maintenance of the place where this shoes will be store and the shoes itself, shoes has to look like its original look and what's important to take care is the signature of the shoes. Damn, if this will be valued $1 million in the future, the current own might enjoy a huge profit.
