Haslem, as a player, was mediocre. Personally, I mostly only remember him from the 05/06 season when the Heat won their first title. After the Heat lost the NBA Finals to the Denver Nuggets in five games, Haslem officially announced his retirement on July 28, 2023.

But of course, we can’t forget his contribution to the Heat’s championship run before. This player, while not heavily focused on offense, was a hard worker. Even though he’s not that tall, he could hold his own against centers. It seems like he really embraced the Heat culture and maintained it, which made him a great mentor for the team.

Imagine, the Heat didn’t have many big-name players, yet they still made it to the NBA Finals twice..against the Lakers and the Nuggets. That just shows how strong their team culture (heat culture) and work ethic are.

He played a key role, but it seems like his primary role was more of a mentor to the team, which is probably why he didn’t retire earlier, even though his minutes were reduced. But as for the record now, he’s retired, right?

Yes, he's retired now but on his career days with the Heat, he's like more of a supporting player than the likes of Steph and other stars.

The case of Klay isn't different from the rest of the three because it's no doubt that aside from Steph, Warriors has had him as one of their stars and franchise players.

But that's how the NBA goes, when someone is injured and doesn't play good anymore, they'd just let it go.

Klay is still good, no doubt about it. He’s probably still working on regaining his full confidence, and maybe moving to another team could be the right solution. I’m optimistic that he could help the Dallas franchise win another championship. As long as Klay stays healthy next season, I’m sure he can contribute a lot to the team.

I'm also optimistic about his transfer to Mavs and at least we'll see three stars now there. Before it was just Luka, then Kyrie came and now with Klay.

Honestly, I don’t think the Warriors can win another championship without Klay. He’s saved them so many times, especially during those crucial moments. If you’re familiar with "Game 6 Klay," you know how big of an impact he had on their championship runs.

Without him, they're still considered as a contender for this upcoming season though. But you're probably right, it's just different that he's gone with the dub.

The last seasons are understandable because he's no longer able to contribute inside the court but through morals but he did have got a wonderful stay with the Heat. It is one of the teams that I think players can stay for so long until they retire like Wade for which coincidentally is also your username.

Haslem case is an exception though, his presence could have been valued by the Miami Heat management that's why they kept him a contract and he chooses to stay. He is not a good player that teams are going to be interested on getting.

And we can see that there was a time when him and Butler gets into an argument with Haslem, and Udonis would not back out.

The energy of Westbrook is different and I can remember one time that he led the Clippers to almost winning a game despite being in a large deficit against a team I forgot. My eyes were only on Westbrook and I could see in his movements that he badly wanted to win that game despite playing with the bench. I think many players of the Clippers were injured at that time so he was given the opportunity for more minutes.
His energy is something the Nuggets bench will need and he will probably be their ace when the Nuggets stars take their rest.

While I do agree that stadiums do bring in a lot of money for the city as well, and all the vendors and shops and whatever around the stadium makes a lot of money and it's even beyond that, it's like a proud to have a team etc etc, but the fact that these billionaires uses tax payer money to build stadiums still feel scammy to me. They are basically scamming tax payers to build a new stadium because they know that if one city doesn't then another city would.

It's same for NBA it's same for NFL and it's even same for football as well, Real Madrid built a billion dollar stadium and they used so much of city money to make that too, some from their pocket of course but they got so much help. So we should be seeing these billionaires and rich people pay the stadium from their pocket, just because they are providing some economy to their surroundings doesn't mean that they can't afford it, asking for it from regular people like you and me when they can afford it is a shameless act.

Right, WB's energy is electrifying and it could have a domino effect on this team mate and for sure like Braun said, he is looking forward to work and see how in real game his hard work will translate to the team.

I'm with you on that one. I don't see the upside by getting Klay. Before he was a great 2 way player, defending the best player of the opposing team and with streaky shooting sometimes deciding games by himself. The way the offense at the GSW was designed it was great for catch & shoot situations.
In Dallas they have a different system where 2 ball dominant players take most of the shots they create for themselfes. Klay is not a good defender anymore and his shooting also declined. Paying him 50mil for 2 season is a bad deal in my eyes. What can make this situation even worse are his injury problems over the past years. I wouldn't be surprised if he picks up yet another injury and maybe only play around half the games of his contract. Hopefully he is at least ok with coming off the bench now if things go sideways with him in the starting 5.

Well, he's been a great superstar when he's on the Thunder back then, and a good role player when he's on the Clippers. Let's not talk about his stint with the Lakers because that's his worst part of his career, but I have a question. Is the acquisition of Westbrook made the Nuggets a title contender?

Let's take note that the Nuggets won in 2023 because of their deep bench. Now? Their bench is for me, one of the worst. Yes, they have Westbrook but aside from him. Who are the other reliable bench players that can step up if their starter is on the bench resting? Braun will be a starter for the team so let's not expect him to be in the 2nd unit and while Westbrook's energy gives a boost of morale towards his teammates, that alone isn't enough to win a title. Yes the Nuggets will have a different bench this season. A set of bench players that's way worse than when they won a title in 2023.

I will not be surprised if Coach Malone decided to go to another team for some reasons. I love the team, and the they have the current best player in the league in Jokic, but with their 2nd unit this bad, I don't see them winning a title at all.

A healthy Klay in his prime was a great 2-way player. The repaired ACL aging Klay is a defensive liability. I think having both him and Luka on the court will provide some good opportunities for open shots, but it will also make them extremely slow which could kill them in transition. I actually think Dallas will have a much worse season this year and that will be what ultimately pushes Luka out to Los Angeles.

Sixers locked in $715million with embid, Paul george and maxey over the course of tjeor contracts lol.  They are going to be in cap hell for a but.  If george or embiid get long term hurt they are screwd for years.  I get why they went all in amd might as well push all the chips in with bird to get all of them locked in for the next 4-5 years but man.  I wouldn't want to be that GM.

Calling him a curse is crazy but he isn’t the guy he used to be. Westbrook and John Wall were always my go to guys in video games. Sadly that was long ago and now those two are well passed their prime. Russ isn’t efficient enough anymore to be in a starting lineup. He’ll be alright for the second team though.

The Sixers giving Embiid a nice extension locks in their big 3 with 700 million dollars coming to them over the next few years. A big gamble.

Can't really say that the Lakers and Clippers weren't good teams, just couldn't stay healthy. Russ was awesome in his early years but lacking in his later years mostly as his shooting % seemed to drop off quite a bit until the last year or so where he almost looked like the russ of old. Obviously less time on the floor but he played well the time he was on the floor. Would like to see him get a ring before he retires.
