Ummm very little movement and/or fluctuations with EGC coin among the traders on Bittrex. They look untrusted with the coin. It's sad but we need give a new impulse to the coin in some way. Any ideas?
I already shared my idea about it. First we would need a payment gateway and then an online renewable energy shop. But hey that's only my 2 EGC ey Wink
That sounds very interesting, could we contact with gocoin or similar payment gateways? It will be great!

Yes, very interesting indeed, the beauty of which is it grows other ideas. We had previously been in contact with coinpayments.net and had a campaign to convince them to consider adding EverGreenCoin. That effort was unfruitful. I mentioned the reasons I suspect it was so in this post. We can and will in the near future try again. As I previously mentioned, it might be wise to let the markets recover before we do so so that marketcap gives them more reason to consider. Of course we can add gocoin to the list.

I personally like the idea of dropshipping and think it is a promising idea. When I mentioned the idea to a colleague, they were of the opinion it was not wise and only offered, "it has failed for others." as an explanation and had to end the conversation. Of course that is not a strong enough argument to not pursue the idea. I will see if they are willing to elaborate on their discontent with the idea and, if so, present that point of view to the community on their behalf if they are unwilling to. But again, I like the idea but of course I am open to arguments that might prove it a path not to continue on. I have not yet heard such arguments.

Regardless of the dropshipping debate, the next step remains a payment processing gateway. I do know crypto-friendly merchants that would be happy to accept EGC once we reach this milestone. Some of them wanting to feature EGC and perhaps offer discounts for its use. Which brings up another point and idea I would like to bounce of the community members that like this idea so far: Why use EGC for a purchase as oppose to just using BTC? Know, we know the reasons that it helps EGC, creating demand. But, why would a consumer that already sees the benefit of using crypto and does want to use crypto for the purchase add the seemingly unnecessary step of converting the BTC into EGC for the purchase? This is the sticking point that I think all 'alt' coins face. So, we need an incentive. Now, when many of the environmentally supportive ideas (solar miners, solar mining farm, ecosia.org or similar, ect.) are implemented and using EGC has tangible evidence as being a currency that its use alone helps the environment, I do feel many people would then see that once unnecessary conversion step (BTC or other to EGC) as a worthwhile step. Until then, we need more I think, an incentive. Perhaps the EGC Foundation can step in to make an incentive by ways of covering a small discount or a rebate. Often times a discount of only 2% offsets shipping, it is implementing the discount that posses a problem. Now, some like-minded merchants will offer discounts and are small/agile enough, yet serve a global consumer base, to do so on a per transaction basis. The foundation matching or even covering the discount would be attractive to consumers and therefor merchants alike. To the best of my knowledge, implementing a discount at the payment processing gateway is not an option. Unless we were able to make some arrangement with said payment processing gateway, this might not be a feasible option thus making the discount incentive idea not realistic for many merchants and merchants that simply can not handle discounts on a per transaction basis for whatever reason. For this reason the rebate idea becomes more possible and promising. The foundation could rebate purchases made with EGC, therefore making an incentive for consumers. Of course, both the discount and rebate could not be a large because the funding is limited to do so but, wise consumers know it does not take much to offset shipping or sales tax (VAT).

Just an idea I have been thinking on and wanted to, like I said, share / discuss  with the community members that are being helpful with these and other ideas. Thanks to those of you that are!  Smiley

I dont know how this would work code wise but about letting the community nominate and vote for green projects which would then receive a small part of the transactionfees each quarter. That way you could help the environment by spending EGC.

Its only a rough idea and transaction fees might need to be raised a bit but it would give people a reason to use EGC instead of BTC.
Ummm interesting idea. I have been thinking about a system about purchasing Foundation shares buying them with EGC. So that you can invest in real Green Projects crowdfundig the Foundation. Foundation can reward to the crowdfunders in some way back. EGC merchandising will be a good option for a future EGC webstore.

I like the idea of investing in real green projects with the use of EGC, but what are they gonna do with an almost unknown coin. Trade it for fiat? Sorry but i've got my doubt about it.
One thing's for sure, Evergreen's gotta have a real life purpose beyond being just another altcoin, if we want it to succeed.

I hope the community members that were into EGC just because of the profit to be made, have left the building by now and we can go on with people that are convinced of the need for renewable energy without dollarsigns in their eyes.

A very welcome side effect, indeed. Their ignorant banter is free publicity and a chuckle to read. Smiley

Yes. Real world use, beyond just another trading token, remains a goal. With that will come familiarity with the coin as like minded merchants, both in support of a fellow green project and the numberous benefits accepting crypto gives them, will embrace the coin as a currency and not another fly by night token.

when POW will end ??

PoW length: 525,960 blocks ( ~6 months. ~6 1/2  months after hardfork at block 495000)

We have about another week and a half remaining now that we have a 3 minute block target times as opposed to the original 1 minute target.

EDIT: Because of the unknown variable of PoS blocks, predicting this cannot be done with precision. If all things remain consistent as of the last 24 hours, 9.028 days remain if my calculations are correct.

I just sent a test deposit of 1 EGC to Bittrex and the pending deposit is not showing.

Might be worth checking the EGC Blockchain in case of fork.

So close to end of PoW, there may be some whales out there mining at more than 51% network resources causing this to occur.
With a stronger mining community (more diverse), risk of 51%'s would be much less likely.

Your Dev Lies not me,

In Bittrex ,
Click Wallets, Search for egc , then click on Plus or Minus sign beside evergreencoin.
It will show the error at the bottom of the window.

If cryptopia is on the wrong fork, the nodes will disconnect it.

One restart of the wallet and it will be fixed.

Cryptopia has not been confirmed to be on the correct chain in weeks. I do not know if they have upgraded but doubt they have. Most likely they would need to resync when they do upgrade.

Thanks for the update. I will double check my test deposit to Bittrex again later today and if it hasn't arrived I will send Bittrex a support ticket to investigate it through the proper channels.

theres a site ive been selling on for a few years called listia basicly you buy and sell things for points instead of money. i always thaught it would be cool if there was a similar site but did it with crypto such as evergreen coin. im a newbie so i dont know what kind of obstacles it would take to build a site like this. would think each account would need its own wallet just like an exchange and a good bidding platform just throwing something out there im willing to learn so give your profesional thaughts. take a look at the site look at the structure and how the payment systems is https://www.listia.com/profile/5829767

we have been building a shopping system for granite ( grn ) - for quite a while now ... the backend exchange is functional - and purchases can be done with grn ... this was eventually going to be extended to ozc also ...

now that steven has joined the ranks of 'theteam' - bern don egc - are now going to have inclusion into this same shopping system ... the system is simple and when its fully functional - will be easily setup for the coins that are supported ...

this is NOT an easy task - and to start fresh is a huge mountain to climb ... our team has been working on this coin system for months - and skaia ( our backend web dev / bot dev ) has successfully got the first part of this system running ...

the shop itself is functional - and purchases can be made - but needs s a lot of polish - and a lot more testing ...

when its complete - you choose the currency in our coinbase - and use it to your liking ... it will based on the current market value - and as of this week - is very responsive to the exchanges for granite ...  implementation of the our other coins will be soon after we perfect this one ...

this means egc will part of a larger base of USABLE currencies ... yes - currencies - not just tokens ...

we are still a little while off - but soon we will have a fully functional test system with test products you can 'buy' from 'theshop' ...

from what i understand - listia works by exchanging everything over to its own token - then using that token to buy ...

ours doesnt work that way ...
