thanks for the reply will copy this for my notes. ive been looking at panels and battery's but also looked at the combo with the battery and panel together, seen one that was 500000 MAH for $14. trying to stay cheap i have a bad habit of wonder what happens if i did this oops so i want to be able to easily replace what i mess up. my obstacle today is looking for one of my 6 mini sd cards that i have so i can load up remix OS but cant never find when i need them lol. have a nice day everyone and good luck in your endeavors.
500.000 mAh? Are you sure? I've got a 48.000 mAh solar powerbank and 2 x 20.000 mAh, but I never heard of a 500k mAh one.

500,000mAh (also written as 500Ah) seems very unlikely for that price and it's going to be huge (power banks are usually rated at 3.7V (typical lipo cell voltage) or 5V (USB voltage). In comparison a car battery is around 40Ah and rated at 12V.

At $14 I'd suspect it's more like 5000mAh (5Ah), which might give 5-15 hours usage on the pine64 depending on how much power it draws. Assuming it's a 5Ah battery at 3.7V (gives the worst numbers) that gives a Wh rating of 18.5Wh (Battery voltage * Capacity), if the Pine64+ needs 3W to run that gives just over 6 hours (18.5 / 3).

figured something wasnt right heres the link and thanks for all the input guys i appreciate it

My C.H.I.P. experiments haven't gone much further yet, I did try the block chain but couldn't get it to sync, I've just started it downloading the complete block chain so I'll see how that goes (based on my Pi experience I'm expecting around 24 hours. I did also run the C.H.I.P from it's 3000mAh battery earlier and had it going for 4 hours whilst travelling, I'm not sure how discharged the battery was in that time, (I've seen some reports of 8-10 hours). Once I've got the block chain downloaded I'll do a decent battery test.

And it's got the whole block chain, I think that was just under 24 hours to complete so not too bad.

I've also managed to transfer my coins from my Pi2 wallet to the CHIP and back again (leaving a few behind to test staking) so it seems to be working. Now to work out what other tests are useful in seeing how well it works.

Awesome, welcome to EverGreenCoin and the EverGreenCoin community! You will start collecting your PoS rewards in about 24 hours. Be sure to have your wallet unlocked, if you encrypted it, to collect PoS rewards. You should do this, leaving it open for a few hours, at minimal of once every 30 days to make sure you get the full 7% annual. You can do so more frequently and you will get more frequent, but slightly smaller, installments towards your 7% if you wish.

Thanks for the support and again, welcome! Smiley

The Pine64 should be a more powerful device so is likely to be useful for other things as well. It also seems like it's more widely available. The CHIP is much lower powered, it's only advantage is having everything built in (there's also a waiting list for ordering them, although that should be reducing).

I'm going to try and do the battery test today (I've got it on my monitoring system now).

Yes, and the donation has been received with many thanks to joinfree for this and all their efforts and contributions to EverGreenCoin!

On that note, there was a small window of down-time on 1 of our 7 seednodes because of scheduled maintenance this morning by one of our service providers. I was very promptly in action after, making certain all was in order. < 5 seconds! Grin

Yes the gains are quite impressive Smiley And we still havent even got solar miners or the payment options in yet. Once we get some of those projects ready I think it will be a really solid coin.

Great job Steve and everybody else helping this project along.
